I have no idea what some of the other reviewers are talking about. I have had nothing but EXCELLENT care from every team member and doctor for my six children and we have been going there for years. As far as little availability-of course no school days are busy! Their entire patient load is children. Since they ONLY see children no school days and late times are the most popular! Book early and have your calendar ready and they are most willing to work with you. Two of my boys were very active when they were younger they were unable to obtain x-rays from them for the first few visits. What did you want them to do strap them down to a chair and force them? I don't know what you know about x-rays but an uncooperative child cannot and will not close their mouth to allow x-rays to be taken. Even if they could that would have made any future visits unbearable. Blaming your dentist for your lack of brushing your child's teeth so he developed cavities is unbelievable to me. It is your child and your responsibility to take of them. You are not fooling anyone by trying to make yourself feel better by blaming the dentist when the blame belongs on you. As for the no availability- I would rather take my child out of school occasionally if necessary to receive the top care that Dentistry for Children provides. Do not hesitate to have your child seen here I promise you will not regret it! I have only been seen at the Edina office but I am sure all three offices are the same.

Staff were also very gentle with my 1 year old who had her first visit and there were plenty of toys for her to stay entertained while we waited. Dr. Sally is the best!! She has been caring for my daughters teeth for almost 10 years and we couldn’t say enough about how kind and thorough she is. My daughter has disabilities (with many teeth issues might I mention) and hasn’t been the most cooperative patient at times but Dr. sally has so much patience and really cares about her oral health.

This office is horrible. I have taken my son and daughter here every 6 months for the past 2 years. Every visit they told me that their teeth were fine. On our last visit the Dentist, Dr. Mark Greenwood, who seemed to me more concerned about his image as a dentist, informed me that my 4 year old son had 8 cavities and needed 2 crowns and a root canal. When I asked him why he did not take x-rays sooner or why he did not notice this sooner on previous examinations his response was that it did not matter when they found the cavities. The dentist and practice were condescending and in my opinion have little regard for the patient. Do not let their credentials fool you. Please take your children elsewhere as this practice is horrible.

I took my two children to Dentistry for Children and Adolescents for years. The hygienists are fabulous: kind, gentle, and good with kids. I don't have high regard for the dentists, however. We repeatedly voiced our concerns about nightly teeth grinding and overcrowding, and we were continually brushed aside. Switched dentists and have discovered that one of my children has 4 cavities, both children are ready for orthodontia, and one of my children was recommended for a sleep study. If you have questions, ask. And be sure to get a second opinion.

I have a toddler with special needs and, therefore, dentistry requires a particular sensitivity for my child. I had a fantastic experience with Dentistry for Children and Adolescents. The waiting area was set up to be fun and engaging for little ones, and everyone was extremely friendly, so my son had a lot of fun during his appointment. The exam was conducting in a private room to reduce sensory overload and was quick, but thorough. The results of the exam, instructions for dental care, and expectation for dental issues in the future (given my son's condition) were explained with care and detail. I would highly recommend for other family's who children might have extra challenges in visiting the dentist.

Every experience is excellent - Dr. Gaythari and her staff are personable, knowledgeable, skilled and so efficient - and so kind. My daughter had issues with a lack of enamel on her teeth and had to have surgery to remove some as a result - when she was 3 - this was completed by Dr. Gaythari in such a wonderful and caring manner. It's nice to deal with her each visit, knowing she remembers our history. Can't go wrong with Dentistry for Children!

The staff is amazing. They put my two toddlers at ease got through a whole cleaning + fluoride when I was worried they wouldn't open their mouths enough for the hygienists to count their teeth! Dr. Lisa is awesome. She is great with my kids, explains everything to me clearly, and listens well to my questions. The dental hygienist who worked with my 3.5 year old daughter was FABULOUS! She was calm, patient, and took the time to explain everything to my daughter. My daughter was excited at first, but then got a little nervous and teared up. The hygienist was absolutely fantastic in giving her time and space to get used to the idea of the "toothpaste" and even offered alternatives if she really wasn't comfortable with it. There was no rushing into this, and we eventually talked my daughter into it and all went just fine. I am so grateful for adults who take the extra time to make experiences like this positive for kids. I would recommend this practice to anyone!

Hygienists are lovely. Terrible device and method for gathering updated medical information. None of the children's other doctors or orthodontists require this. They simply ask a few questions, like the hygienist here does, and don't require client to do their work and enter everything on the OLD tablet. It's annoyingly enough that we will be searching for a new dentist.

This Friday evening one of our kids fell and chipped two of her front teeth--one of them had quite a large piece knocked out. We called that evening, talked to the on call dentist that night, who then met us at 8 the next morning, and did a great job of repairing her teeth while keeping our daughter as at ease as she has always been during routine care.

They allow parents to be as close as needed, and they go at the pace of each individual child. They keep the whole appointment relaxed and cheerful. I recommend arriving to your appointment early so your child can take advantage of the waiting/play area that has a variety of toys and activities to keep them relaxed and entertained!

Not only did they take care of my 2 year old when she had an accident with her mouth (she was smiling the whole time) they pushed my baby around in the stroller so I could be with my 2 year old and not worry. To top it off I was leaving just as they were closing and my littlest one was hungry and needed to be changed. They offered to let me stay and nurse in the lobby and change her. My children have been seen here since their first checkups. They are now 23, 20, and 16 and the youngest just had a checkup today. The staff are kind and everything is geared for children, including the sunglasses so that the bright lights don't hurt their eyes, the kites on the ceiling, and the tooth chair. My oldest two were sad when they "aged out" and had to go to a different dental clinic. Our oldest made a picture for her dentist and when he retired many years later he sent it back to her.

My son had to have a cavity filled and needed a shot of novocaine. You know, the giant, stainless steel one. The scariest shot possible, in my mind. And the dentist (sorry, don't know her name off hand) did such a great job that I looked away for a second, looked back up and they were done. He didn't complain at all. And he HATES shots. So I'd say that's about as well as something like that could possible go.
