I think the midwifes are amazing and make you feel so comfortable while you are pregnant. A lot of providers are very good at their job because they have had many years of experience. Just recently I had a visit and it’s not the best place to get medical care. It’s very unsanitary. It just made me feel uncomfortable. I know that next time I’ll look else where for medical care.

Good employees with some nasty apples. It's an okay place, but it was a pain to be seen initially. I don't make much, so I qualify for assistance, but I'm not in their primary demographics. It took me months of trying to get an appointment for a simple mental health evaluation, and no one wanted to hear about it. I'd talk to someone and they'd tell someone to call. I'd not receive a call in the given time, and I would call back. Rinse and repeat. I had to have a friend come in with me to advocate for me before they were willing to help. Now, I can't set up an appointment for the time I need to because it's too far out? I also accompanied a friend to his mental evaluation because he needed someone to remind him, and he wanted an advocate. I had to use the restroom and came back shortly thereafter, and had a guy hassling me for coming back, and someone happened to remember me. Not long after, I was asked to leave so as not to effect the memory test, but I was told I could come back. I waited outside the door, but was shooed by the same guy into a room and had the door closed behind me. My friend doesn't use his phone during appointments, if I can't hear when they open the door, he's going to assume I didn't stick around. He also happened to be the person who took my vitals. He was rude and brash, he put the cuff on too tight and started snapping at me. Made me do all sorts of things that I've never had to do at a doctors appointment.

The professionals at this clinic are so talented and highly skilled. Our community is so lucky to have this clinic and they serve some of our neediest people. I am happy to take my children to the dental clinic here.

Concerns dental only, but it was the worst medical experience of my life. I was abused by Edgar Mantilla, a sadistic quack of a dentist. I'll note the other people I interacted with were kind and compassionate, heightening the contrast of what a maniac Mantilla is. Acute tooth pain can bring you to your knees and forget how to breathe. It's transcendent, superseding everything else in life and without proper treatment you'd soon grab a rock and knock out a piece of your skull a la Hanks in Castaway. Worst pain I ever felt was three years ago over Thanksgiving laying in a fever with water to cool the tooth until I could get to a dentist for a root canal. This August I felt a creeping pain and found sliding-scale dental treatment. Though I work and pay my own way, I’m a literary bum without insurance, home or much money. I have no debt or credit cards and try to do my part, so I went to the clinic and they said they'd work with me. After xrays Mantilla told me I needed a root canal on a lower-left side tooth. Front desk told me under $400 but I'd have to pay $290 then. Great deal, as I still haven't had the money for the crown from three years ago. The potential of exposed-wire pain concerned me but I used salt water, garlic, tequila, oil pulling, tea tree oil, to curb it until then. Month later Mantilla shot me full of a numbing agent making my cheek tingle. I was concerned even before he started the drill because I didn't feel the anesthetic much in my gums and sure enough, two seconds into drilling a white lightning exploded in a flash of pain all around my brain. I thrashed and whimpered, he shot me up with another syringe and the exact same thing, otherworldly pain. He took off his gloves, said he could not continue to use more anesthetic on me (?!?) and I would have to come back another time. Five minutes total and the appointment was ninety minutes, so I was confused and had no idea what his rational was (wouldn't it take less anesthetic since I already had two needles worth, badly applied as they so obviously were?). Without any other explanation or commentary he left me, and his assistant escorted me to the door. I had to schedule another appointment a month out because Mantilla works three days a week and based on the time I spent with him works about ten minutes for every three hours. Our third meeting was even worse. Again he didn’t acknowledge or take interest in me and instead shamelessly flirted with his assistant. Direct quote: ASSISTANT: "This morning has really gone by fast." DR. LOVE: "That's because you get to spend it with me." He laughed like a cretin then talked about Styx. 'Come Sail Away' was playing over the PA, and he asked her if this song came out while he was in college (as if this gal, twenty years his junior, would know). This was the man sticking in needles and drills in my mouth. (his assistant did not encourage or respond to his nonsense and was kind and understanding if reticent) Again, Mantilla twice lit a nerve like a candle wick with a pinpoint holocaust in my mouth and brain, then took off his gloves, shrugged, said indifferently that there was nothing he could do and I would have to see the University center, then left. Like most victims of abuse, it took awhile for me to process what had actually happened, and in retrospect, rarely have I ever felt so physically and psychologically abused, so much so that I wonder, Am I crazy? Did this *really* happen? But I’ve never shaken the feeling he did this on purpose. I was reluctant to visit another dentist but my dads best friend is one who used to take care of my teeth for free. I hadn't seen him in years but my dad called him up unbeknownst to me. He took xrays and came back and said there was nothing wrong with that side of my mouth and I didn’t need a root canal at all. The same tooth on the OTHER side had a cavity, so Mantilla misdiagnosised me, caused pain and duress, and is a sadistic, narcissistic, incompetent all-around horror.

Doctors, nurses and staff are people-oriented offering excellent care as well as service. I have been coming to this clinic since 2003. They are friendly, attentive, and compassionate.

This clinic is busy and quite far from where I live, but I always go back to this clinic because the staff and doctors have NEVER made me feel uncomfortable. They have all been LGBT-ally trained, which has made my experiences with them so positive.

My roommates and I used their walk-in service a few times and had mostly bad experiences. Doctors are rushed, don't answer questions and give incorrect diagnoses. Once I even had a staff member try to talk me out of seeing a doctor at all. It took four months for me to receive a bill. Unless you need the large variety of translation services they offer, don't go.

Went in with a toothache and the dentist did the preliminary steps to stop the pain. I had an appointment, was seen fast and had a great experience. Since it was a capped tooth that needed a root canal, I was referred to the U of M endodontist clinic. I am 100% satisfied.

Everyone should know about this clinic. I went when I first moved to town because I was uninsured and it was sliding scale. I have good health insurance now and stuck with them because I love my doctors so much. It's convenient to have dental, behavioral health, and primary care in the same building and they are part of the U of M system so they can refer to specialists as well. They are LGBT competent and have interpreters available.

Dr. Borowsky, MD. Is The Best!

Probably the best experience I've had at a clinic... The providers here actually care about people, as you'd expect from a U of M clinic run by idealistic people. They do walk in appointments, can help low income people, provide mental, physical and dental care, professional, idealistic and compassionate... Highly recommended.

The best therapist I see in this clinic are the best they know how to treat a person whit mental illness like me thanks so much to my dr.s team .

In the past, I have booked a few appointments at this clinic the male receptionist who often answered the phone in the morning got impatient and irritated with me, claiming he couldn't "hear" me but I was shouting half of the time. This clinic do have some very capable doctors but not all their doctors would be considered competent. In one of my experiences I had a female doctor who was very supportive, professional, and friendly. Another time, I was seen by doctor (J.W.R) who disregarded building rapport with her patients and was passive-aggressive. This one bad experience was enough for me to never return. It was a demeaning experience overall. And to add insult to injury, one of the female nurse at the nurse station did not draw my blood correctly leaving my arm weirdly bruised, sore, weak, and immobile for two weeks! I was livid. This clinic was great in the late 90's up until mid-2010 it's a pity that it no longer is that way.

Worst clinic ever. More than 2 hour wait, was told to come back out to wait in the lobby because the room was “not quite ready.” Every single time, It’s so disappointing.
