Had a filling done here and the procedure didn't feel quit right and wasn't done by an experienced hand. Sure enough, in less than a year the filling snapped off and left me in terrible pain. I called the office and they got me in for an appointment immediately. Dr. Roahan fixed me right up, explained what happened in the first place, explained what he did better this time to make the filling secure, and did the fix for free since it was their error originally. The care and attention more than made up for the shoddy first filling. Thank you!

Dr. Mayani does great work, has an efficient staff, and a convenient location. One of the things I appreciated was their handling of a situation with a mix up on my insurance that resulted in them sending me a large bill for a wisdom tooth extraction from +9 months prior. I walked in for an appt. with the bill they took it upon themselves to dig in and by the ending of my cleaning were able to confirm that the bill was in error and could be ignored. They tore it up and removed it from their system. Not having to do this myself and go through my insurance was a pleasant relief.

I HATE going to the dentist, but if any place makes it tolerable it is Mayani Dental. The ability to make crowns and such in one appointment saves alot of pain, discomfort because you do not have to come back a few times exposing your nerves over and over. Staff is great and the owner is a nice guy to boot.

I like Mayani Dental because they are convenient to my home and work. I've had a lot of work done with Dr. Mayani over the last couple of years, several crowns and a wisdom extraction, and most recently an extraction and implant for a broken tooth. Dr. Mayani assessed my situation and recommended an effective course of action immediately. I had an extraction done, an implant post inserted, and was stitched up in under 15 minutes. No pain, no after pain, and good healing. In my experience, they have always checked with my insurance and clearly told me what would and would not be covered. Very happy with my experience at the Boston office.

I came in for a visit with Dr. Mayani to address a chipped front tooth. He suggested I get a porcelain crown for that same tooth. At the time, I wasn't fully versed on the scope of getting a crown, in terms of potential future costs (insurance doesn't always cover it all) or maintenance. I wish Dr. Mayani had explained to me all the factors encompassing getting a crown on my tooth. It’s not just about potential future costs but the way it feels unnatural. The crown ended up not fitting very well and it would hurt while chewing, and I had to return about 3 times in order to adjust the bite. At the 3rd visit I also mentioned that it was so thick that it was actually affecting my speech at times. His response was to “learn to live with it.” That is when I decided to look for a new dentist. On top of that, he suggested I get Invisalign because he said I grind my teeth too much. After reading many of the reviews listed here on Google, I realized he has a pattern for pushing either crowns or Invisalign, which may not be in the best interest of the patient. I felt he took advantage of my situation and it took me over 6 moths working with another competent dentist to finally fix what he complicated in the first place. Definitely do not recommend this dentist office. The only positive aspect is the friendly and attentive staff at the front desk.

Dr. Mayani is a wonderful dentist. I have a lot of dental anxiety, to the point where I actively avoid regular appointments. His hygienist was understanding, talked me through everything she was doing and allowed me to have breaks when I needed. Dr. Mayani was thorough and immediately put me at ease. When I discussed some areas where I was worried about my receding gums, he was honest about what areas should be treated and which ones could wait. His office gave a great financial evaluation and Jennifer was so helpful figuring out the best way to utilize my insurance. I highly recommend this office for anyone, especially those with dental anxieties.

Thank Dr Mayani for taking over this practice. Dr. Mayani found two root canals procedures that had gone bad from the previous owner of this practice. These bad root canals had been leaking for years. Dr Mayani gave me a thorough exam and the X-rays revealed the bad root canals from the previous owner. I thank Dr Mayani for saving my health. Dr Mayani went out if his way to accommodate me when I needed attention.

Worst dental experience ever. Dr. Mayani did my fillings and he acted like drunk- was very painful when he did the partial anesthesia and I felt like the needle was going to pierce my mouth, super painful! I still feel traumatized when I think about it after almost a year. And he let me sit there for well over 40 mins after he numbed my mouth. When he did the fillings, I could sense he was careless- proved to be right as 3 out of 5 of the fillings need to be redone. Very awful experience and he threatened me I need to find a lawyer when I wanted him to refund me as I was horrified to let him to do the repairs. Insurance won't let me change doctor office and I used another doctor in the same office for the repairs and she was very good, and when she did anesthesia, I almost couldn't feel anything - big contrast with my traumatic experience the first time. Awful experience and won't recommend this place for sure!

I visited to have a chipped tooth repaired. Both dentists I dealt with were very unusual and made me uncomfortable as a first-time patient. When Dr. Mayani first entered the room, he took a quick look at my bottom teeth from distance, and before asking if I was in pain or how I even chipped the tooth to begin with, he launched into a 5 minute sales pitch on Invisalign laden with assumptions on my dental habits and causes of this issue. He left, and Dr. Sood entered, which was very confusing as a new patient. But no problem... I attempted to explain the reason for my visit again to her before she too jumped into a pitch on starting Invisalign or braces TODAY, otherwise "any work done on my tooth would be useless". My teeth are relatively fine. The bottom front may be a bit crowded, but I have never had a dentist recommend braces, let alone two dentists back-to-back insisting that they could not treat my dental emergency unless I began a months to years long process on the day... After I insisted that I at least needed something done about the sharp edges from the break, Dr. Sood half-heartedly agreed to do the work. I felt confused and frustrated as a new patient as I did not fully understand my options, did not feel the doctors had my best interest in mind, and felt a complete lack of confidence in the work done (as it was repeatedly deemed 'likely to fail' during the procedure). Also, Dr. Mayani began ordering x-rays before even running it by my insurance or explaining the work he planned to do. When I asked to slow things down to make sure I understood what would be covered, he instead opted to charm me with an anecdote about how one time he went in for surgery and had to sign a paper saying he understood the risk was death! Ooh. Wild. I just want to know if my insurance will cover x-rays. Weird response, man. The receptionists, however, were superstars. Super kind on the phone, got me in for a same day emergency appointment, and were extremely helpful and professional in person. Maybe my experience wasn't the norm, but I can confidently say that I won't be returning here or recommending this office to my friends or family.

I needed a Crown after my root canal. I got a very fast appointment at the office and Dr. Mayani was very accommodating to my tight work schedule. I was impressed that my crown was made on site and I was able to get everything completed on the same day. I will surely be returning for future dental work.

I had to move from New York to the Boston area after my New York dentist had inserted a screw for a prosthetic tooth, but before he'd gotten the chance to insert the post or finish with the tooth. Dr. Mayani took the time to make sure that his follow-up used exactly the right model of post (apparently, there are an awful lot of them) and patiently waited for my okay (my new dental insurance took a long time to decide it would cover the procedure). I'm quite happy with how things went.

Friendly staff and very nice modern office, but got the sense the dentists were just looking to make a buck off me. Took under a minute into my first visit for Dr. Mayani to push invisiline on me, but to be fair I have some crowding so I shrugged it off. Had some discoloration on my front tooth where bonding was used to repair a vernier, he said it couldn't be fixed and that I would need new verniers. Next visit, I was told I needed 4 cavities filled plus a crown. Before getting all this work done I decided to trust my intuition and get a second opinion. At the next place, the dentist only identified one cavity and it wasn't in any of the four teeth Mayani identified, and they were able to fix my front tooth easily during a cleaning. The dentists at Mayani are either incompetent or dishonest. I'm not sure what's worse.

RUN! This office is made up of amateurs. From the dental assistant to the Dentists. Two months after getting 2 fillings done, both need to be redone and my insurance won't re-pay for them. Don't risk your health, time, and money going to this office. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Dr mayani is awesome. Did a great root canal and made me feel incredibly comfortable. His office staff NOT SO MUCH. When they gave me an estimate it was close to 900$ LESS than what I ended up having to pay. So 900$ two weeks later on top of the root canal and wisdom tooth price which already is a ton. When I called they admitted they ran it incorrectly but “it doesn’t matter” I have to pay it anyways because an estimate is just an estimate. Also telling me they were doing me a favor because most dental offices don’t do estimates. Which is absurd because I’ve never had a dentist that doesn’t run one before a procedure. I would have had the tooth pulled and eventually put an implant in down the line had I known the cost. The office manager was rude and unprofessional when I called about it. Don’t waste your time make sure you have a correct (or at least in the same ballpark) estimate so you can make an informed decision.
