Amazing dental care. After going to 6 other practices for care I found Boston Dental. BD was the only practice that was serious about getting me out of pain. Within 1 year the 6 other practices had done 5 different procedures among 3 different neighboring molars on the right side of my mouth. Prior to BD taking care of me, the 6 other practices had done 2 fillings, 2 root canals and 1 cap on those neighboring teeth. I lost a tooth and had dry socket for almost 3 weeks because of all damage and trauma my jaw had experienced. I commute about an hour to receive care here, and its worth it.

Well I am IN LOVE with the office and my Doctor! We did a filling and it was fast, easy and PAINLESS. They numbed my gums with the gel before doing the numbing injection, gave me headphones to watch netflix while they were working on my filling. And let me tell you, it was fast! And because I was listening to the movie I did not hear any of these buzzing sounds. Amazing! The Doctor is very gentle, very nice, tried to make sure I am comfortable. Thank you!

I have to say that I have never liked going to the dentist, but my experiences at Boston Dental have changed my attitude! Given my past dislike (more like fear) of the dentist's office means that I never went unless absolutely necessary, which resulted in me needing to have a lot of work done over the past couple of years. Thankfully I found Boston Dental where every dentist, hygienist, technician, etc. have all made me feel super comfortable and have taken great care of me. Even Christian at the front desk knows me by name and greets me with a warm hello every time I walk through the door (come on, where in downtown Boston does that ever happen today?) I would highly recommend Boston Dental...and from this woman with a history of having an intense fear of the dentist's office, that is saying a LOT!

There was some confusion about the time for my cleaning today, as the confirmation emails I received said one time while there was another time on the computer in the office. However, the office staff was very gracious in handling the situation, and Dr. Maleki ended up doing my cleaning personally when it turned out that no one was available at the time when I'd been told to come in. So, while the scheduling mishap was upsetting, everyone worked quickly to make things right. Thanks!

I have been going to Boston Dental for about three years now and I absolutely love them. Not only is the practice incredibly clean and beautiful, but the staff are very friendly and make me feel totally comfortable whether I'm coming in for a cleaning or getting a wisdom tooth removed (which I did earlier this year and they made it SO quick and easy!). I have recommended Boston Dental to all of my friends and will continue to do so. I usually see Dr. El-Malecki and he is fantastic, but so is the rest of the staff, so you can't go wrong no matter who you're seeing!

I was invited to come in four minutes before the scheduled time, there were no delays or unnecessary waiting. Everything was well explained. I felt I was given as much time as my case required, there was no rush. Everybody I interacted with was very professional and did their job well. Over the years I've had different procedures done on my teeth but the one I FEARED the most was the extraction of WISDOM TEETH! I had two of them done many years ago which weren't very good experiences and had promised myself that I'd have the last two done surgically. At the time I didn't have a dentist but knew my colleague went to Boston Dental and she highly recommended them. So I started going there too for some years now and discovered she was right! One day my doctor talked with me about the extraction of my wisdom teeth but I was afraid to do that due to my previous experiences. However because of his gentle encouragement I decided to try their specialist. I made an appointment for a brief consultation then summoned up enough courage to book the appointment. Everything went EXTREMELY WELL! NO MORE FEAR!! I'd HIGHLY recommend anyone to have this procedure done at Boston Dental as well as ANY other dental needs!

I went in for teeth whitening, from booking appointments to getting it done, all great experience. beautiful facility, very modern, super clean. The dentist had explained the process for me, results were awesome. The coolest thing was seeing photos of my teeth on the monitor, showed me where my cavities were, and explained the treatment, the front desk lady, I think her name was Jessi (not sure of the spelling) explained the insurance and copayment in very clear way, booked my appointment. Third visit, I come for the 3 fillings, was seen on time, done on time, no pain, and the best part, I was watching a movie throughout the process, Great office, wonderful people, I highly recommend.

Like so many of the reviews on here, I feared and hated going to the dentist for a variety of reasons—until a friend recommended Boston Dental. Getting an appointment is always a breeze (and rescheduling is easy too, I've had to do that once or twice), you'll get text reminders if you want and the office is easy to get to if you work downtown. The space is modern, comfortable and clean. The staff is the best part—friendly, personable, effective and knowledgable. If you haven't been to the dentist in a while, they greet you with open arms and no shame for having not gone. They always recommend things that feel like a good fit and are clear about when things are optional or not urgent (I've had bad experiences with dentist pushing unnecessary procedures on me in the past—and it's REALLY hard to get a second opinion!) Needless to say, I'd HIGHLY recommend Boston Dental to everyone I know (and don't know, for that matter).

By far the nicest dentist I've ever visited. Sleek, modern office and equipment, with friendly, attentive staff who are dedicated to your needs. I had Sandra as a hygienist, and she checked in frequently with me during my cleaning to ask if I was doing okay, and no detail was overlooked. Patient education is a big focus, and she went out of her way to explain everything going on with my teeth as well as every step and tool she was using. Even though I'd just had an appointment elsewhere in March, she and my dentist, Dr. Cook, spotted a potential filling instantly, and are able to take care of it literally the next day. So happy to find this place!

Really pleased with the level of care from hygienist, dentist, and the front desk! They took the time to explain all the procedures they were doing, like with taking x-rays, pictures, and the teeth cleaning.The place is a maze but everyone there moves through it like a pro. Felt like I could trust them from the get-go, which is weird for a doctor's office (for me). Oh, and the CX Manager is very cute. Edit: Went for second visit for consult. Dentist saw me immediately, and Alisha was super duper helpful and kind of hilarious. 12/10 would come back again (to get my teeth pulled).

The 6K scam that almost worked... We've heard of the driveway, or the free piano scam. Here's the "front teeth" scam that almost worked. I have a flexible pre-tax spending account, where $ is accrued for my bad teeth expenses. Every year, I keep the account as a reserve, and if norhing urgent comes up, I use before it expires unused at tbe turn of the calendar. As a 20+ years patient, there was a plan, and a discussion of how much is to be budgeted... This year, it was time to replase worn out, chipped crowns. The Nov. cleaning left things as "we do not know if the insurance will cover front crowns" that were paid for 20 years ago. A quote of 6K cash was thrown around as if we're talking a about lunch. I knew something was not right, and did express my concern. The same explanation was given. The scam goes like this: an opening in the schedule is suddenly available, so, come on in, and we'll figure out the payments later. I did no go for that. So, few work days berfore the year end, when my 1,000+ of HCSA is about to expire, I was told that nothing is covered. I was looking at a 6K expense. The EOB (explanation of benefits) meanwhile was showing different numbers. So, I moved on. Found a great place that actually told me that crowns can be replaced every 5 years. The scam was initiated at the top. The "I know nothing" office manager was what looked like the bad guy in the story, but I know that is not the case. She did not help, by not providing an escalation point, or making any effort to resolve the issue, but is not the engineer behind the scam. This business needs to change its corporate culrure at the top, or it is going the way if the Dodo bird. There are a few great denrists there, especially the extraction/implant doc., but the attitude of sc#$% the patients has to change. False billing also has to end. Now, 3 weeks after I have switched providers, they ate not releasing my records to my new provider. Will post bad reviews, to hopefully get the message to the owners that this is not right. And while 6k is perhaps not a lot for them, here is what that is for me: a 2002 Honda I bought used in 2006, which I am still driving. Or my veggie/fruit budget for 6 years. The same amount could be half a day of skiing in Dubai, but for the average person out there it is a lot. If you are a patient with lots of work run for the doir, if you're lucky to have goid teerh, stick around.

My hygienist, Katie, was amazing! I hadn't been to the dentist in far too long (shame on me) and she was super professional in explaining what was going on with my teeth, what she was going to do to improve them, and how I can do better in between REGULAR visits from here on out. 10/10 would recommend to a friend! I have been to a few dentists who never seem to tell you what they are doing or what the plan is for the health of your teeth. Not true at Boston Dental at Downtown Crossing. Everyone here let's you know what the plan is for your teeth as well as never having you pay for something that you don't need done. ALSO, the guy at the front desk, Christian, is AMAZING! Very sweet and patient guy who explains things about your insurance so that your not confused. And he's not bad to look at either.

Great 1st visit. Kathy the dental hygienist was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and made me feel completely comfortable and at ease! She explained all the steps to me before she moved to the next one so you know what to expect. Not to mention it was the best cleaning I have ever received! Her cleaning was extremely thorough and not rushed. Last but not least she was discrete and maintained my privacy when explaining to the front desk women ( I want to say her name was Pam ? But I could be wrong) what work I would need done moving forward. She actually messaged her via their computer system and told her that I need a quote for said work, etc. Since the front desk and the waiting room are one room this made my experience that much better. Regardless of the work being done there is nothing worse than a waiting room full of people and office staff explaining your personal situation on what feels like a loud speaker. This discretion was very much appreciated. Plus when I got to the front desk the women had my quote in hand she stepped from around the counter where she was sitting and explained things to me and the payment process in a low voice.

It's extremely helpful to work with a staff that are supportive and understanding and take the time to show pictures, explain biology, and assist in creating prevention plans. They charged higher price than other dental offices as other people also mentioned on Yelp. Never heard of a “co-paid” for regular cleaning in anywhere, co-workers have same insurance but never have to pay “co-paid” for regular cleaning in other dental offices, I guess they wanted to charge more for being located in downtown. They even billed me a year later for the cleaning I got in the previous year, no ONE mentioned there was going to any charge/fee/ “co-paid” until you receive a surprise bill later. The practice manager was full of craps.

During the past year, I have had three dentist, very high turnover. Consequently, they focused on procedures that would yield the highest profit an neglected to focus on capping a tooth that had a root canal. The tooth is now infected, I am taking antibiotics, and was told I will probably lose the tooth. I have canceled my appointment for 2016 and will find other practice. I strongly suggest you do the same.

Just moved to boston from Chicago, and wanted to find a new dentist. Boston dental was recommended by a colleague of mine, and I had experienced all the positives she had mentioned. I was seen by Sara a very personable hygienist, then Dr. Malecki came in to do my check up. Explained what is needed, took pictures of the areas of concerns. The reception staff was so kind, and gave me an estimate of what work would cost. My 2 visits to get the work done went very well, and I like to think that now I am good to go for 10 thousand meals, as Dr. M described.

I had my quarterly dentist cleaning last week, and it went delightfully, as usual. Oscar is super gentle and never hurts my mouth. I used to have to take an anxiety medication and two Tylenols before I got a dentist cleaning, but Oscar is so gentle and thorough, I don't have any anxiety with him at all. I also saw Dr. Giannacopoulos who followed up with work she did on a cracked tooth a few weeks ago, and I have had no problems at all. I have terrible problems with my teeth due to all the medical problems I've had, but I feel like I'm getting excellent care at Boston Dental.

I recently moved to Beacon Hill and had to look for a dentist that would be walking distance from my home. Called about 8 places before I found this gem, because everyone else denied my insurance. I went in with no expectations, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! The office was impeccably clean and modern, the staff was very attentive and polite, and my appointment went by flawlessly. I move around a lot so I've had all kinds of dental experiences in my time. What a wonderful experience at this office!! I was lucky enough to get a cancellation due to the blizzard today and am far from disappointed. The staff is lovely! Everyone I encountered had a wonderful manner, was genuinely friendly, and very competent in their focused area of expertise! They even have Spanish-speaking staff!! The office was clean and well organized. Fun colored chairs to brighten the mood as well. There is on street parking, but due to the parking ban used the garage. They do validate parking for $2 off the first 2 hours. You left me smiling even more than I usually do today - THANKS!

Awful experience. Their handling of insurance payments was weak and staff implied necessary appointment when reality was cosmetic procedure versus implied cavity. Caught account receivables mistake which said I owe more than I do and upon clarification they adjusted, but makes me wonder how many of these "mistakes" go unnoticed and patients pay more than they should. I would not recommend.

This dental office came highly recommended by a couple of my co-workers that had great experiences. I can't say enough nice things about the practice. It is modern, convenient and the folks that work there are perfectionists. I've had a crown and graft for my gums. Both doctors and their staff did amazing work. The periodontist gave me his cellphone number so that I could text him after the procedure if I had any questions or concerns. It is right across the street from downtown crossing T station. Scheduling is done and reminders come via email and text.

Really nice office, very clean, seems like up-to-date tech, but how would I know? I'm not a dentist. Everyone is super friendly, too. You can watch Netflix while getting a filling or other repairs. Protip: watch something boring, definitely not House of Cards. I actually bumped my 4 to a 5, since BD actually negotiated with my insurance company to help keep my costs lower, so that was really super. Definitely recommend.

They are kind and curteous and even called my insurance providers on my behalf when it looked like I didn't have coverage even though I did. All appointments started on time and the office is always completely spotless. Oscar is my favorite. I have a strong gag reflex and sensitive teeth and Oscar is the most patient and gentle teeth cleaner I've ever had. I hate going to the dentist but Boston Dental makes it okay.

I've been going to Boston Dental for 4 years and they are by far the best dentist I've gone to. PROS: Technology (these guys have the best gadgets in the industry) Netflix (getting a cavity filled? they'll let you watch Netflix on their computers to take your mind off things) Staff (always friendly, always professional) Chairs (this is petty, but their lime green leather chairs are incredibly soft and comfortable) CONS: The only con I have is that they filled a cavity about a year ago and already telling me that it seems to be crumbling a little bit. This was after they had to re-do it because there was a hole in the filling. So it seems like maybe they don't always get fillings right the first time, but they corrected it at no cost to me and I wasn't the worse for wear.

Oscar is amazing at what he does and even though I moved from the city 2 years ago, I still trek into town to see him because he is THAT good. Worst place ever Never go there. I went because I had a broken tooth. They look at it and told me I should do a regular appointment; been when it could be infected any moment. When I ask for an appointment they told me they will call be back to see the coverage of my insurance. After 2 day of nothing, I call worry asking for the response and they told me the insurance could have at least 3 weeks for an answer, and they will call me. After a month of waiting I call them to see what happen and they told me the procedure was cover but at that point I already have inflammation and I ask an appointment ASAP. When the doctor saw me told me it was an infection and sent me home with antibiotics for 7 days because he can't extract the tooth. I take antibiotics and get an appointment a week later. When I get the extraction the doctor didn't sent me pain relievers as analgesics, only anti-inflammatory (not very clear of the dose and timing) and more antibiotics for 7 more days. Because of the pain I call the same day for something but because of the pain I couldn’t pickup it because they were going to close in less than an hour. (Saturday) The Monday (they open) because I had a bad weekend with pain and still feel bad I call for some prescription and they told me they can't, I should take the anti-inflammatory or go to emergency room. Never had such a bad experience even when I had similar procedures. Now I am still with pain and hoping the best.

My family and I have been going to Boston Dental for over 8 years. Because I have been negligent for many years when it comes to my oral health, I have had lots of work done and have always found the front desk and dental staff professional, attentive and knowledgeable. I have also found Boston Dental extremely responsive to the times I needed emergency treatment and this is very important to me. I like that my appointments are emailed to me with plenty of notice and I usually do not have to wait when I arrive for a visit. Because I can be demanding and like to comparative shop, I twice sought second opinions from well-known Boston area dentists and both times Dr. El-Malecki's diagnosis and recommended treatments were confirmed. Just this year I went to BU Dental to get a second opinion on having two implants I was planning to have done. BU Dental confirmed the need for the work and quoted me substantially more than the price that Boston Dental quoted for the work. The BU dentist then complemented me on the front tooth implant that Dr. El-Malecki had previously performed in 2016 and remarked that the front tooth implant was the most difficult tooth to do well. That second opinion cost me $100 but to validate the quality of work and diagnosis of Dr. El-Malecki was well worth the price. I'm somewhat analytical so I like that when I am in the dentist I can look up at the monitor and can always see a representation of all the work that needs to be performed as well as the work that has been performed. I find this very helpful and can readily refer to the display when discussing all work performed or planned. My x-rays are always visible on the display and I value the way all the dentists there explain what the x-rays reveal. All in all I am grateful and pleased with Boston Dental and over the years I have referred many people. No one likes the dentist but I do feel good about getting world class quality dental work.

Boston Dental is awesome. I work in the financial district and they help me schedule appointments before and after work so I miss minimal time. I get off the T, and then Boston Dental is right there. The staff is young which I appreciate, they go out of their way to make sure their work is as pain free as possible. Lastly, the Netflix that they let you watch during your visit makes everything easier. Highly recommend, plus they take my AETNA DMO insurance which was great.
