North Potomac Smiles is an excellent dental practice in my neighborhood. Dr. Nadim Kodsi, his associates and staff are very knowledgeable, attentive and courteous. I feel that my family gets the best dental care there. They really have their act together. Of note, they have made great use of the latest technology for scheduling, confirming appointments, and billing.

This is my first review that I have ever written. I am a new patient to NPS and was extremely anxious for my first dentist appointment with Dr kodsi. My anxiety was due to a previous experience I had with another dentist. From the moment I entered NPS office I was greeting very warmly and professional by the front desk personnel. I really liked this practice and this was my first time. I have been to other dentists and this is by far the best place for dental cleaning in my area. The hygienist was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all my questions. The dentist himself was also succinct and clear about the issues. The estimates given by the front desk also looked reasonable to me (I have a dental insurance).

Their system of calling for the next available appointment is phenomenal, takes a lot of manpower and patience to offer such a service, and they have both. WORST EXPERIENC EVER!!! As a doctor myself I would never refer any of my patients to this office. After waiting over an hour in the dental chair the doctor comes in and tells me they won't be able to do the exam because she's running late and too overwhelmed!! Yet they have all their patients sign a document saying if they cancel their appt less than 24 hours they charge a fee...apparently they don't hold themselves to the same standard! What's more frustrating is why they had me sit there for an hour and then come tell me they couldn't do the exam? Why not tell me when I walked in 15 minutes early for my appt as they requested? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO A MORE PROFFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT!!!

The other staff members were also very pleasant. The facility was very clean. I came a little early and I was seated on time. Plus their staff is the only I've ever seen with a command of social media, and I've been able to repeatedly schedule and edit appointments online and via email.

I was a bit nervous going to the dentist. I hadn't been in probably 10 years or so, so I was expecting the worst. I searched around on the internet and found North Potomac Smiles. Everyone seems to rave about this place, so I decided to give it a go. I made my appointment for a checkup back in December. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the office. It wasn't drab or dreary as most medical facilities are. I waited a short time and was taken back to the exam area. They took some pictures, and did a dental x-ray. Afterwards they went through each of my teeth, jaw and gums on a large LCD screen. Explaining everything along the way. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and that any questions I had were answered. If you're skittish of going to the dentist, you shouldn't be. At least you shouldn't be going to the doctors at North Potomac Smiles. Everyone here deserves a raise. These guys are a shinning beacon of hope in a wasteland of dental professionals!

My family and I came here because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews and I have to say that my experience so far has been mediocre at best. I have been here 5 times and I have not had the same hygienist once. I see the dentist for a very short 5 mins each time. He is professional and friendly but today my son had a different dentist. He appeared into the room and did not introduce himself which I thought was really off putting and rude. He looked at my son's teeth, said a few short words and exited. I was not impressed. One gets the impression that they are herding people through like animals and it kind of feels like a fast food restaurant instead or a factory producing mass clothing. I like to feel comfortable with my dentist or the same hygienist at least because dental appointments make me nervous. I had a GREAT dentist whom I had to stop seeing due to insurance restrictions.

If you are afraid of dental work, go here! I once had a dentist that did a root canal and the pain made tears roll down my cheeks. Saying that, I was sprouting feathers when I learned a crown was needed and perhaps a root canal. Without exaggeration, , the shots I had from Dr. Kodsi were about as close to painless that a shot in your gums can be. The staff is superb, Dr Kodsi and his staff are likely to be the best dental providers you are going to find.Period. As to billing, scheduling and all those mundane and confusing insurance copays, Michelle has that office running like a finely tuned machine. She has worked some miracles on tricky billing as to copays with crowns with GEHA insurance.I know I sound like I am getting paid for this, rather than paying them, but no, and maybe I shouldn't post this because it will be harder to get in, but hey, when you have been through a bad experience you will need a doctor that can bring you back to the chair. This is the place.

I guess depending on which doctor you get at this place - the one I had was terrible (personal experience), she did not seem to care about the patient - when I asked her what I should do with the situation, she said "Do whatever you want" then walked away. That is not the way to treat a patient in my opinion. I found another doctor who is wonderful - Sorry but I will never return to North Potomac Smiles - and will not recommend the doctor I had to anyone (first name starts with a "K").

I had my first appt with the office because I had a tooth ache. I had never been seen before and they fit me in on the same day. It ended up being a gum problem and they took care of it that day. Before they did any work they gave me an estimate of the cost and what my insurance would pay and what I would have to pay. It was very clear and spot on. I have been back twice since and they have been great (and on time). I am very happy my daughter referred me there.

My name is Tony, and I am a recovering Dental-phobe...... I'm only half joking. Like many people, I have an aversion to the thought of having drills and sharp implements causing painful mayhem in my mouth. For this reason, I avoided the dentist as much I could rationalize. As time went by, I found myself not being able to avoid the inevitable....toothaches, temperature sensitivity, questionable chips and rough spots. When I became motivated enough to overcome my discomfort, I made appointments with a couple of dentists referred by friends. I explained my aversion to pain, and they seemed to humor me, but the experiences were still unpleasant. Then I found Dr. Kodsi! He is AWESOME!!! He listened to my concerns and made sure I felt comfortable by letting me know exactly what he was doing or, more importantly, about to do with his implements. He checked in to make sure I wasn't in any pain, without patronizing. I know he cares. Because I had let my teeth health fall so behind, there was a lot of work to get back to "normal." Dr. Kodsi gave me an overview and a plan to get on the right track. Not only did his suggested plan fit with my comfort level, he also made suggestions that would be most economical. There is no up selling. In fact, a couple of times he explained to me that I didn't need certain procedures I had asked him about because they were expensive and unnecessary. Along with his relaxed office environment and his staff's pleasant disposition, Dr. Kodsi's nonjudgmental and extremely attentive style is the reason I now have healthy teeth and have regular cleanings every 6 months that I actually look forward to........not because I like sitting in a dental chair, but because I don't feel the embarrassment of not taking care of my oral hygiene. I also like to hear that my teeth are in good shape. I HIGHLY recommend North Potomac Smiles to all of my friends and family. No question!

Everything about my first visit to this office was wonderful. From the filling out of paperwork to the actual cleaning everything was fast yet thorough. Bad experience. I went to for a filling, but ended up with a crown. She admitted the cavity wasn't deep. I had to go through root canal and install a crown. It is not ending. The crown became loose after about one month. Need to go back for a fix again. Very disappointed! PS: Well, too early to tell. Will wait and update my review later. Leave it as three stars for now.

Best dental office I've ever been to! I've been on a hunt for a new dentist for the past year. I tried someone out 6 months ago who I didn't like, and then just a few weeks ago, an old friend recommended North Potomac Smiles to me. It was time for my next cleaning, so I made an appointment right away. The first thing is that they ask you to go to their website to fill out the new patient paperwork, and they call you up to remind you the week before. So then when you arrive at the appointment, all you have to do is sign... no other paperwork to complete! My wait was very short - less than 5 minutes. Then came the x-rays. And for the very first time at a dental office, I was actually SHOWN my x-rays, as the hygienist (and later the dentist) explained to me how to read it. The hygienist was super nice and friendly, and went out of her way to make it a pleasant experience. Finally, the dentist came in, and she was very nice as well; good "bedside" manner. As I was leaving, I made an appointment for my husband, who is also looking for a new dentist, and was waiting for me to try out North Potomac Smiles!

I love this place. I have two children and myself, we all get our dental care here. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The dentist are good at what they do. The prices here are reasonable. This office is always spotless. The only issue someone could run into is getting an appointment. The place is always booked up! However, if it is an issue they will call you with cancellations to get you in sooner.

I required a crown to replace an old filling. It takes a lot of novacaine to numb me up and Dr. Graham and her Assistant were patient with this process and most concerned I would be pain free. They showed me the decay last week when recommended to get a crown and again on the day of the procedure. I am a very curious person and they satisfied me with all my questions regarding treatment. The practice seems state of the art with a very efficient and warm front desk. One of the main reasons I am now with North Potomac Smiles is the lack of warmth and friendliness of the front desk at my last dentist's office. I was with that dentist 25 years and never felt truly welcome. Never underestimate the importance of every person in the office for establishing the tone and impacting the patients.

Updated 8/14/17 I got a filling re-filled this afternoon by Dr. Khodsi. We've been with the practice now for years and always have as enjoyable an experience as one can have at the dentist! All staff are professional, courteous, and friendly. I was in and out within 35 minutes. Dr. Khodsi kept making sure I was okay during the whole procedure and it went much quicker and smoother (with no pain) than I had anticipated. Thank you! I HATED dentists for the longest time and even the smell of a dentist's office would make me cringe. Then.... I found North Potomac Smiles :) I always have a wonderful experience there and now my husband and children go there too. They put all of us at ease and make a trip to the dentist not just non-dreadful but actually pleasant! Even though my 5 year old has gone to a pediatric dentist (for a filling), she and I actually prefer your office! Kudos to all the staff for changing people's fear of dentistry!!

Dr. Kodsi has been my trusted dentist for nearly 3 years now. In a split wisdom tooth procedure (top teeth done 1 month apart), I had no issues with either one-I left his office this morning having finished the 2nd. Let me affirm... I'm no fan of the dentist PERIOD, but Dr. Kodsi made this and every other procedure absolutely painless and smooth like butter! Today, in less than an hour, he filled a cavity and removed a wisdom tooth after giving me a topical and numbing. I felt nothing! He told me everything he was doing as he did it and even as precautionary, wrote me a script for antibiotics. Even greater, when he pulled the last wisdom tooth, he even called me personally that evening to check on me and will likely do the same this evening- now how's THAT for great customer service and personalized touch!! He and his team are absolutely amazing-from the front desk to hygienist to procedure techs. I am very fortunate to have a dentist that I not only trust his work and opinions, but I actually like him as a person. He is very knowledgeable, doesn't rake you across the coals on pricing, and is really just "good people". I couldn't ask for a better dental office all around.
