I don't know if I have ever said that I love going to the dentist, but I can say I now enjoy going to Dr.D's office! At 52 years old, I have only ever had one cavity and then I moved to MD and the first dentist office I found tried to tell me I had 16 cavities!!! Thankfully I decided to wait 6 mths and try a different office. That office was Monocacy River Dental. And though I did end up with three and 1/2 cavities, it certainly wasn't 16!! Dr. D has excellent chair side manner; always walking me through everything and has a very gentle touch. I even enjoy the rest of the staff as well... from the receptionists, to my dental assistant, and the billing people. Another plus is that I have never had to book three months out just to get an appointment. Though I don't want them to get too busy, I can easily recommend them to anyone, ;) Actually my husband used this same office and he had an excellent experience as well with the doctor he saw!! UPDATE: Still going to the office, but found out today that Dr. D is not coming back from her maternity leave. Decided to stay home with her baby. It would have been nice to receive notification. The new permanent doctor seems nice enough, but not quite the same as Dr. D. Hoping things will get back to amazing. Right now it is just good. The doctor my husband saw has also left. Hope this isn't a pattern. I'd like to get consistent care.

Office is huge, and so nice and clean! The front staff accommodated my needs when I needed to change my appointments. Took me in on time. They explained the paperwork and bills as we were going along the procedures that needed to be done, so no shock as to how much you are expected or willing to pay. The dental assistant (Amanda) hygienist (Barbara) and dentist (Dr.Patel)are all AWESOME! They put me at ease from the beginning to end by explaining procedures well, and they’ve been very gentle from X-ray to cleaning. They have a state of the art equipments to make the xrays and other imaging needs done. They explained all the care I needed done. Thank you to all the staff! Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

I recently had an amazing experience at this office. I had an emergency situation that needed to be taken care of immediately. I called the day before to schedule appointment as soon as possible, I was seen by 8 AM the next morning. Mitra Davani, DDS and Michelle were so kind and gentle and performed a pain free root canal . I chipped my front tooth on Sunday, and did not have a dentist at the time. This office took me early Monday morning before leaving for vacation. I was scared to death going to a doctor I didn’t know. Everyone in the office were very kind (especially Tammy) and the girl who took X-rays. I was very very pleased with my outcome. Been going here for well about 2 years now. Dr. Davani was excellent but my last visit was not so great as I had to see a different dentist who didnt really listen to my concerns on pain that I've been dealing with for months now every since I had a crown put on she said oh it just needs to be filed down then said the pain would go away in about 2 weeks. I have constant headaches and tooth pain everyday and it's now been over 3 weeks and the pain and headaches are just as bad. But they were more concerned about replacing old fillings for teeth that were not bothering me and charging a couple hundred dollars to do so because "in the furture" may cause my teeth to crack I'm now trying to change to a different dentist as I was told Dr. Davani will not be returning and was supposed to have a release emailed to me and no one sent one which is going to make it hard to get my records in time now because I'm sure they will be closing for the holidays. What was once a great place to go seems to be going downhill now on patient care.

My family's dental care visits at Monocacy Dental Care has been positive. It's in a convenient location with plenty of parking directly in front of the office. I like the staff as they are very upbeat, positive and "patient centric". Visit: My large family, including children, really have had positive experiences with the hygienist. After their vists, the kids continue to be excited about dental hygiene. They floss!! Maybe some brainwashing is going on under those lights. Jokes aside, the hygienist is great and my kids learn what they must do to keep their teeth healthy and they maintain it. Personal experience is that the cleaning procedure is gentle and I have not had any pain along the gums during the course. As any dentistry goes, any issues that they see are recommended for either preventative or corrective treatment. I appreciate that they suggest treatments without being condescending. They have asked a couple of times recommended treatments before leaving the office. But I understand that it's both a dentistry for one's health benefit and at the same time a business and you know, medical/dental insurance industry doesn't pay out well for cleaning visits alone. Overall, my experience is 5/5. I'll update as we continue our periodic dental health visits at Monocacy.

This is the worst dentist I have ever visited. They run their practice as though it was a sales office. The minute you walk in they are trying to increase your final bill. The dentist also wanted to drill healthy teeth for money. He said I had 4 cavities which I doubted. I went to another dentist and there were no issues. Each cavity was going to be over $100 to fix. Do not go here unless you want to pay for nothing and risk your teeth.

First thing I have to do before I start my review, is give context. I'm Colombian and my country is well known as a place where Americans go to have their teeth fixed. That is due to many different reasons that I will not include here. That being said, I want to talk about Monocacy River Dental Care. Dr. Mitra and her staff are the best! There is always someone in the front desk ready to greet you with a smile, and any of them can always help you. They are punctual, responsible and clear. This review is based on different visits to Dr. Mitra. I wanted to wait this long to write a review because sometimes people are just nice or professional the first couple of days so you write good reviews, not with this team. I guess if I had to choose four words to describe Dr. Mitra’s work and staff, they would be Responsible, Caring, Reliable, and Professional. It's by far one of the best dentist experiences I've had in my life.

The epitome of just awful - be prepared to sit in their “prepayment chair” before getting to even speak with a dentist. They lure new patients in by advertising $1 visits for Emergency Care, which jumps to $40 when you arrive. By the time you leave you are billed $500. Then be prepared to be told you only need 3 things done and receive 3 different estimates which, each time, enormously go up thousands of dollars from your initial estimate given to you after the dentist examines you and looks at your X-rays. Furthermore, they advertise and say they care so much about their patients. You will be told they will work with you if you sign up with this Aetna plan they are pushing for $118 in addition to the $500 you were just billed. Once again you are told upon arriving for your 2nd appointment to sit in their “prepayment chair” just to be told you will not have your filling done unless you pay them in full, up front before getting near a dentist, who, by the way, in person along with their billing coordinator and later on the phone told you that you can make payments when they schedule your appointment. Needless to say, the billing coordinator was conveniently off today, and of course the dentist was too busy to confirm what I was told by them both. The dentist is Mithun Suresh, please do yourself a favor and do not go, but if you do you cannot believe a word he or his staff say.

Every aspect of the office is excellent. First off the waiting room is comfortable and tidy with entertainment, the wait time was less than 10 minutes, the office management team seem to be organized and knowledgeable regarding scheduling and insurance. The technical staff including the dental hygienist and the dentist were very professional and attentive to any issues or questions I had. The office has some of the latest imaging technology that allows them to show you what different corrective scenarios would look like and how it could result in better long-term wear of teeth and enamel maintenance. There is no hard pressure sales tactics involved and I feel like I had all the information I needed to make a good decision about my dental and oral hygiene care.

I had an emergency on a Saturday and found out my old Dentist's office moved! Monocacy River got me in right away, the prices were fair and they fixed the issue the same day. Dana explained everything in writing before I agreed, they answered all my questions. So glad I found a new dentist close by. (They also provide glasses for your protection, and let you watch TV if you choose-not that those things are important but they make the process of getting something painful repaired, much much better).
