Great experience with this office! Dr. Adams really took excellent care of my husband who had multiple dental infections and a mouth full of amalgams that needed removal and replacement. The office manager, Melissa, was also very attentive and helpful throughout the whole process. I wish more people knew more about the effects of mercury amalgams and how dental infections can cause problems with other/areas of the body. Holistic/biological dentistry is definitely the safest and best way to go for dental and full body health. I would recommend this office to anyone!

Dr. Adams is a phenomenal dentist. I had two other dentists tell me that I needed a root canal in order to keep a tooth. I will not do a root canal, so I made an appointment with Dr. Adams to have the tooth extracted, and an implant placed. He checked my tooth out, and managed to save the tooth, and put a new crown on it instead! I highly recommend this place. Dr. Adams and his staff are amazing!

I have been a patient of the practice for 4 years. Prior to seeing Dr Adams, I had several root canals. When I came to see Dr Adams, I was experiencing high blood sugars which was not normal for me. I also felt very tired all the time. Although I saw several specialists, I was not properly diagnosed nor was the root cause identified. Dr Adams identified the problem. He found that I had 3 infected root canals which he removed. Since then my blood sugars have stabilized, my energy is much improved, and I am feeling much better now. I felt well taken care of and greatly value Dr Adam's expertise and the professionalism of both Dr Adams and his staff. I highly recommend Maryland Holistic Dentist.

I went for my quarterly dental cleaning today expecting to see Dr. DiNola only to discover when I arrived and asked for him that he is no longer with the practice. For all of you expecting to see Dr. DiNola this notice is for you. For all others, this a warning about a lack of integrity and professionalism. The dental office called a week before my scheduled appointment to reschedule. I requested another 7 am appointment and was told they are no longer offering 7 am appointments. When I asked why I was only told the office changed it’s hours. Well in fact that was not the whole truth. What I should have been told is that my appointment was being switched to Dr. Adams. When I arrived only then did I learn that my appointment had been switched to Dr. Adams without my prior knowledge or consent. I told the hygienist I did not want pay for a dental consult but that I would like to speak with Dr Adams about my experience. Instead of manning up the office manager was sent in instead. I had similar professional integrity issues with their Rockville office. So if you are looking for a dental practice with integrity think twice.

I have been a patient of Dr. Adams for 6 years now and am extremely happy with my care. I highly recommend Dr. Adams and believe he is the best dentist in the area. He practices holistic, safe, and non-toxic dentistry and explores and considers multiple options for treatment starting with more conservative rather than just run-of-the-mill conventional dentistry. The care is very individualized. He is also highly skilled in all of his work. He has done much work on my teeth over the years and I am satisfied with all of it. I also have tended to be a “problem patient” at times due to difficulty getting numb, dental fear, etc and and he handles it far better than any other dentist I’ve seen in the past. He’s knowledgeable, skilled, has a good bedside manner and can make even the most fearful of patients comfortable. You can’t really get much better than that.

I have mixed feelings. Nice people but i went in there to address 4 specific problems and ended up getting a tmj diagnosis and a lengthy sales pitch about how i need to use their retainers to regrow bone and how my whole mouth is messed up because of the orthodonic work i had done as a teenager. Its fine to let me know about a concern and a potential solution but to ramble on and on for several minutes was a little offputting. Not only that but the lecture started to feel like fear mongering toward the end...i will still research what they told me and come to my own conclusion but when i come in there for something specific and all i get is a tmj diagnosis and lecture before my mouth was even examined well it wasnt appreciated.

Gentle, empathetic and knowledgeable. Offered me options, informed me what he was doing and reassured me all along the way. Also, let me stand up and walk around when needed in the middle of a long procedure, saying, "Why don't you walk around outside a bit in the fresh air?" A stupendous display of patient-centered care and dental expertise. I wanted a second opinion when my preschooler’s dentist recommended a baby root canal and stainless steel crown (both are toxic) for a molar. I was somewhat familiar with holistic dentistry so I searched for a natural pediatric dentist that was nearby and had great reviews. Dr. Adams saved my LO’s tooth! He is so skilled that my LO did not wince when he administered the anesthesia and there was no need to have nitrous oxide gas. He and his team put my LO at ease and treated her as an individual. In the end she only had ozone and a non-toxic filling. What a relief! I could not bear the thought of her living with a composite filling containing toxins such as plastic and possible aluminum derivatives for so many years until replaced by adult teeth. Also stainless steel releases nickel when it reacts to tomato products. They assisted us in finding a very affordable payment plan as the insurance we have was not accepted but I never felt that their end goal was about the money. Yes they are experts and should be compensated as such but I truly felt they cared more about the well-being of my LO, wanting the best health for her teeth. In the end, funnily enough, their treatment plan cost less than the original plan by the conventional dentist as it eliminates any superfluous treatments. Needless to say we will be using Dr Adams as our primary dentist for the whole family!

I saw Dr. Dinola yesterday and FINALLY . . . a dentist that listens to everything you say. . . Who doesn't belittle your fears . . . and who takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why. I have a HYPER sensitive gag reflex so sedation dentistry is perfect for me and I am also extremely anxious about the whole dental experience. Yesterday, Dr. Dinola alleviated many of those concerns and I would highly recommend him to any one who shares my issues! Thank you so much for giving up so much of your time.

Great personal experience! Super knowledgeable dentist and hygienist! Very nice staff! I felt like a person and not a number. Learned a lot about my teeth and teeth in general. I'll be using those techniques for flossing!!! Only down side is they close at 5 so last appointment is at 4!

They were amazing! I have a horrible fear of needles, makes me hyperventilate, and cry. They were so understanding! They give you blankets if you want, it was such a relaxing experience settling in. They offer you a medicine that can relax you without needles which was the best! Melissa the office manager was so helpful and sweet!

Like most people, I tend to wait for a tooth issue before I make an appointment to see the dentist. My molar tooth cracked and thankfully Dr. Adams could see me the very next morning in his Burtonsville, Maryland office. I needed a crown, and two older and worn crowns needed replacing as well. He explained the procedure, the non-toxic materials they use, and how he could efficiently do the job in three stages. I also opted to remove my last two mercury fillings making my mouth mercury, toxic free!! I went to Natural Dentist Associates initially because they specialize in holistic dentistry and the safe removal of amalgam fillings. I am very pleased with the outcome, especially the natural feel and look of the crowns. Dr. Adams also readjusted my bite, making my TMJ go away! I highly recommend Dr. Adams and all the dentists at this practice. I've seen Dr. Baer previously for an implant, and Dr. Tipograph has treated my teenage son. The staff are all friendly, competent and genuinely caring. I have recommended this practice to a friend whose severe anxiety about visiting the dentist requires sedation, which the dentists here do as well. As you can tell, I like this dental practice a lot!

Stay away! Dr. Gary Adams while performing a tooth extraction, had me in the chair for over 5+ hours and numbed up while he was going in and out treating other patients. At the end of it, he negligently left a piece of root in my gum (after I specifically asked him to take a precautionary xray). As a result, months later, it caused an infection in my gum and I had to go to another oral surgeon to have the piece of root removed. He said that he was sorry for leaving the root in, however he refused to pay for the cost of the oral surgeon to fix his mistake. Also, be careful in letting him shave down your teeth to correct your bite, he'll use basic analogies like "your teeth should fit like a puzzle", but he over shaved and now my teeth are sensitive to hot/cold. Go at your own risk. Hope this helps people avoid my same ordeal.

I traveled 5 hours to see Dr. Adams and haven’t regretted it for a minute. As a health professional, I am still in awe that I could have 6 hours of extensive dental work done with no discomfort or awareness, and then feel completely normal for the rest of the day! The staff is friendly, competent and professional. If you want the latest in toxin free dentistry, this is the practice for you.

Very Good Dentist, I went Here for Dental surgery which included ( 4 extraction, all were impacted, I’m 43 lol), I also had implant screws put in and all my old amalgam filled restoration taken out and redone, All the work was done on one visit, 4 hour surgery, it was the first time that I was under anesthesia and they made it feel better than a nap, Other than tender gums I had basically no discomfort, All my friends couldn’t believe the fact that I had so much done and no pain and/or swelling, So if you want the Best go Here!!!!

Been coming here for about 2 years now, after asking my naturopathic physician for a recommendation. I left two different dental practices in the area because I got tired of the attempts to push me into having procedures I did not truly need. Have not had that problem at Natural Dentist Associates. I appreciate that they inform me of all options, and use practices that promote the body's ability to naturally heal itself. I bring my 3 year old here as well, and they are great with her. They offer fluoride free treatments and don't use materials with BPA (among other things) which was very important to me. Not easy to find a legitimate holistic dentistry practice that accepts insurance, give them a try if you're fed up with traditional dentists.

Check carefully for yourself, if you would rely on the positive reviews in choosing this dentist! Dr. Adams was previously with Natural Dentists Associates, and some older reviews reference other dentists. Now he is on his own, with an office manager named Melissa. Agreeing to replace a molar crown, I paid over $2,000 in advance. Dr. Adams took a very long time (like 2 hours) putting on the temporary crown, which hurt badly after about a week. Dr. Adams said there was no issue with the crown and recommended extraction of the tooth and an implant in place of a nearby missing tooth. The appointment was scheduled to do both procedures the same day as Dr. Adams recommended. These procedures would cost several thousand dollars more, and a small discount was agreed (in writing) for part of the procedure. The following day, I called the office to ask to split the two procedures into separate appointments (i.e. extraction first – implant a few weeks later). Everyone seems nice until you start asking questions and taking up time. During this call, Melissa, the office manager, accused me of not trusting the doctor and rescinded the discount. She told me they were not comfortable to work with me anymore and I should find another dentist (and would refund for the permanent crown not done – which was way less than expected when I received the check). After a weekend in pain, I was luckily able to get an appointment for the next day with another dentist. He immediately found tooth was exposed by the temporary crown and repaired it in about 10 minutes. Afterward, the pain was gone, and my tooth was saved. This temporary crown lasted 7 months before I had it replaced with a permanent one. It turns out my questions and caution were well justified. Beware! Lastly, be wary of dentists requiring full payment in advance, and good luck if you need to get any refund from Dr. Adams. As I tried to get a full refund from my experiences above, he called and taunted me in response to my demand letter, ignored my Better Business Bureau complaint, and then spent probably several times the amount on lawyers to defend against my Small Claim in the court. He had lawyers from two separate law firms at the court for 4 hours, for a $1,300 claim, and I lost the case on a technicality (cashed partial refund check.) What a way to run a business! p.s. Dr. Adams and his entire dental staff are nothing beyond exceptionally, professional, warm, and knowledgeable to say the least. After a few years of learning what holistic dental work is and how anything in our mouths may affect the rest of our body and health I went on a journey to get old childhood dental work replaced. I had been recovered and in remission from Lyme Disease and desired a practioner who was well informed and able to support my immune system with detox needs. Dr. Adams out of a few other competing natural dentist in the DC and Montgomery county area was the best by far. He is practical and explains every procedure along the way. His dental assistants are patient and also fully knowledgeable. I am now on a first name basis with most of the staff and I can honestly say I enjoy going to the dentist for the first time in my life. I have had mistakes made by other dentist, and even though I do not have anixety, the idea of knowing the crew can aid me if I ever did - is outstanding. They are calm, positive, and being I am a surgical tech and seen the best and worst examples of surgical procedures, I would say excellent under pressure. With great ability adapting to anatomy of what they discover with each patients mouth and needs. I had three old fillings removed, two crowns placed, and one old root canal fixed with an implant. The four hours of cleaning out old childhood work did not seem bad one bit, and they worked as gracefully as they could. We made plans for each process before hand, and I returned for other steps for my crowns, and implant weeks later. Now I no longer have a month full of old mercy fillings and within days of replacing them, my allergies cleared up. I finnally was able to conceive after ten months of trying natural ivf as well! Who is to say it was the dental work, great timing, or my path towards bettering my health, but I feel having a healthy mouth definitely aids towards feeling better. Plus I can rest knowing my future baby is not receiving any toxins from old fillings when in the womb. I plan to send our baby girl to Dr. Adams so she will not have to go through transition as I did. I am so thankful to have a nice smile, and healthy mouth. My breath smells better, I do not need to take Allegra anymore, and the work I had done should last a lifetime without any metals, toxins, or harsh chemicals upsetting my immune system. If you want a practice which is clean, organized, communicates well, with kind staff happy to see you; go to the Maryland Holistic Dentist. It's not only worth your health, but your peace of mind. So grateful for Dr. Adams, his wisdom, expertise, and advanced skills towards bettering others lives; one tooth at a time.
