I went here for about 8 years! I'm sorry that a job change meant that I had to leave. The staff, hygienists, and dentists were all friendly and personable. They always took time to explain what and why. I never had to wait more than 5mins in the waiting room. They seem conservative when it comes to treatment, I have two spots on my teeth that have been watched since I started at the practice. They could have totally filled them preemptively and I would have been none the wiser. Finally, when my family lost most of our belongings in a fire, Dr Murphy replaced my mouthguard free of charge! Considering all we lost and had to replace, it was wonderful that I didn't have to think about or worry about that.

I had a new patient visit and was very impressed. They are efficient and friendly and on time. The hygienist was very good. She and Dr. Welzel explained everything very well. Dealing with appointments and insurance was easy. Went back for a new crown. Great experience. They actually make the crown while you wait with the new technology. I was there for about 2 hours and left with a permanent crown that is much better than what it replaced in both look and feel. They handled the insurance and it was less expensive than I expected.

They were very pleasant. When I first called and told them I needed to come in ASAP they put me on a priority list and gave me several calls before my appointment to try and accommodate me. They didn't add any extra fees when I was there. They took the X-rays I had recently gotten from my home dentist and were willing to deal with their (my home dentist office) uncooperative behavior when requesting them. I loved my hygienist and the dentist was also great. I felt like my dental health really mattered to them and I just wasn't another patient. I would highly recommend them to my friends.

I see that the general feedback is positive and I guess I am just unfortunate to have the bad experience. I have to admit in general everything went OK: the staff are professional and helpful, but there are few incidents really ruined my experience there. I was quite upset when I was left in the middle of my root canal treatment and the doctor disappeared for at least 40 min without given any proper explanation. After the treatment, the gum around the crown, which was healthy before the treatment, started bleeding. I went back and I still got charged for fixing it, although the amount is not huge. Today, I called the dentist again for a separate treatment and I was told my dentist will be on holiday soon and all the other dentists are busy. The front desk person seems rather impatient and is not willing to help. She mentioned some emergency things but didn't not explain how much extra I need to pay. Dental things are expensive and I would like to be well-informed before I make a decision. With all the negative experiences combined, I am currently looking for another dentist and hope I can be handled with more care.

It is a fairly large office, but there is a small office feel from the tremendous care and concern with which they treat each and every patient. Sandy, my awesome hygienist is a wealth of knowledge and has a multitude of experience - and is simply the sweetest! Dr. Alexandra Welzel is so calming and jovial, and does amazing work, with a great chairside manner that puts even the worriest wort of patients at ease. I have also had the pleasure of working with a couple of the dental assistants, Aisha and Tonya, who a terrific and so personable. You can instantly tell that everyone who works here is happy to be here and enjoys their job and the people they work with. I cannot recommend this dental office enough - they are THE BEST!

Profressional, Caring and Effective. When I moved to this dental office several years ago, it was the best decision I could have made for my teeth. Is is expensive, Yes. Is it worth it, YES! The practice was very gracious in getting me into an appointment within a very short notice. They were very friendly. I have a very sensitive mouth and they were very gentle. This is the best office I've been to as far as care for my comfort throughout the cleaning and checkup. It was interesting that they take a bacteria sample and show it on a microscope right in the room. I ended up having a bad infection and needed antibiotics. They were even mindful that since I was breastfeeding I was limited to the types of medicine I could take.

The dentist and hygienist are great. But the receptionists at this practice are highly unprofessional. One receptionist told me that they couldn't schedule me in for a crown in 3.5 weeks, because it would take that long for them to send out the mold to the lab. But when I came in finally for my crown, the dentist used the 3D printer and made my crown THAT SAME DAY! The technician said that she didn't even know why the receptionist told me that they had to send for some lab to make it!! One other time, some girl on the phone told me that she had not received my voicemail, when I clearly left a voicemail. While we were on the phone, I could hear her asking her colleagues how many voicemails they had gotten that morning. She obviously DID NOT even bother to check the voicemail before calling me, and insisted that I did not leave a voicemail. I can't go back to a practice where the receptionist keeps lying to me!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Merguerian. It had been an embarrasing number of years in between dental visits. I needed a lot of work done to get back on track. I was in the office quite a bit at first and now Sherri and Dr. Merguerian have gotten me to a point where I only need to come in for my regular checkups. I was never in any pain during or after my visits. The entire staff is great. If you need an excellent Dental team I highly recommend Dr. M. and Sherri.

I visited this office a few months back since it was right next to Johns Hopkins' campus. While the hygienist was nice and cleaned my teeth very well, I was very frustrated about this office due to their lack of transparency about treatment costs. Without asking for my permission, they added several extra "evaluations", such as examining the bacteria in my saliva and laser scanning my teeth to "detect" cavities in addition to x-rays. Even with dental insurance included, I ended up with around a $150 bill just for a regular cleanup! I have received excellent dental care (i.e. cleaning and checkup) for around the same price WITHOUT insurance. If you are looking for affordable dental care, I would not go to this office.

I have been going here for almost 10 years and have had many procedures done here. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Welzel in particular. She is knowledgeable, gentle, she has a great 'chairside manner' and excellent cosmetic skills. I think it is always important to be your own medical advocate, both in terms of treatment and cost; sometimes I have different priorities, but we have always worked through my treatment options positively. Staff turnover is low, which is a sign of a good work environment, but when people do change, I take the time to ensure consistency of my own care, which is always met with understanding. Both the assistant team and the administrative team have been lovely to me; I feel like I am visiting old friends when I come in (maybe because I am! lol) My teeth always look great- and natural!

This is easily the most comfortable dentist I have ever been to. If any dental work can be pleasant, Dr Welzel, the technicians, and the staff here strive towards that goal. They're open to questions and have treated me with respect; this shows they have a clear understanding the blind trust required by a patient. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while, due to a lack of insurance as well as simply not making time for it. I was upfront about this and honest about my regret. Never once was I condescended to. During my dental work either Dr. Welzel or one of the dental technicians would periodically make sure I was comfortable and made it clear that my comfort was a priority. I had by far one of, if not the best dental experience of my life here! The staff were very professional, compassionate, and seemed to work together like a well oiled machine. Speaking as someone with dental anxiety, I was concerned about having my wisdom tooth removed. However, my concerns were quickly alleviated after the most painless procedure I've had to date! A lot of unnecessary treatment/imaging that are not covered by insurance. I was not happy with the skill level of Dr. Welzel either. She took two appointments to complete the simplest textbook filling. Also, two appointments for cleaning by the hygienist.

I have had generally pleasant experiences with them although they are certainly more expensive than others. However, their appointment system has a lot of issues and they rescheduled us to random times without letting us know and charged us $100 for not showing up. Once I had to cancel my own appointment with colleagues to avoid paying the fee. When I called and asked how I got schedule, they said they had no idea.

Best Dentist Ever! Dr. Welzel is truly the best and gentlest dentist I have ever been to in my 40+ years. Sandy, my hygienist, is likewise the most thorough, gentlest, and kindest hygienist that I have ever been to. I had two teeth extracted. My first ever dental surgery, and I wasn't sure what to expect. The dental hygienist, Aisha, was just amazing! She explained everything clearly with an appropriate amount of detail. She was thoughtful, kind, friendly, and professional. Dr. Levy was similarly thoughtful, provided clear explanations for what to expect and how to take care of my mouth after the procedure. He was skilled and efficient without being rushed. I would go back to them in a heartbeat.

I really, really dislike going to the dentist. Yesterday, I was so nervous about getting a filling, I almost threw up on my way to the appointment. And then, it went so well, I could barely believe it. I was treated so gently, so kindly and so professionally. I had zero pain (minus a slight pinching from the numbing injections). These folks are the best!!

My husband and I went to this dentist office. They recommended a filling for my husband and estimated the cost to be about $200. He paid upfront about $100 and expect our insurance to cover the rest. Later, I was billed for $450 and the insurance doesn't cover a penny. They did not do a research on our insurance coverage before doing the procedure. Now they hand the bill and expect us to pay in full out of our pocket otherwise they will send us to collection. We do not like how they work with customer. We will never go back here again.

The office is very professional and clean, with cutting edge equipment. I have had four fillings done here and have had no problems with the work. They were accomodating about payment, allowing me to split my bill into two months and pay via credit card.

The dentist and hygienist are great. The reason for this low rating is strictly due to their appointment system. It generates random appointment times without consulting the patients and expect us to show up on that time. What's worse is that we have to pay $100 rescheduling fee for the "missed" appointment. We are switching to another dentist because we had this happen twice in this month.

Does a good job explaining what he's doing and what to expect. The support staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Not the least expensive game in town, but does a good job of making sure you get the most value out of your visit. Never thought I'd recommend a dental office, but these guys earned it.
