I have gone to Dr. Beebe/Maine Cosmetic Dentistry since I was 10 months old (I'm currently 26). I recently moved out of Maine (to Maryland), and was still commuting to Maine for my scheduled dental appointments, because that's how much trust I have in their work. Donna, my dental hygienist, has always been great, and always makes me feel comfortable, even though she knows how much I hate having to go to the dentist. Going to the dentist gives me a great deal of anxiety, but going to see Donna, Dr. Beebe, and the other staff at Maine Cosmetic Dentistry, always makes it easier. Now that Dr. Beebe has retired, I've decided to change to a local dentist, but the staff at Maine Cosmetic Dentistry made the change seamless, and even recommended someone for me in Maryland who has the same credentials as Dr. Beebe. I'm sad to leave Maine Cosmetic Dentistry, but am sure I'll still pop in for a cleaning every now and then when I'm in Maine visiting. I highly recommend this place, and wish I was still close enough that it was practical for me to continue to go here.

Thirty years ago, a good whack in the mouth with a field hockey stick caused my two top front teeth to die. I was left with yellowish brown teeth and subjected to root canals. I lived with a smile that embarrassed me for a long time and the only thing that I could afford was internal bleaching which was only moderately effective. In retrospect, I'm glad I couldn't invest in crowns back then because I wouldn't have enjoyed the technology that is available today in combination with the amazing results that Dr. Lawlor and his team provided me. Crowns have come a long way since those obvious and oversized ones of yesteryear. My case was rather unique and challenging because my other teeth are a grayish tint thanks to exposure to tetracycline while in the womb. Matching those teeth to my crowns required several photographs and a really great laboratory. Although I was happy with the first crowns that came back from the lab, Dr. Lawlor is a perfectionist. That is what you want in a cosmetic dentist. He sent them back and a week or so later, I was fitted with new front teeth that look so natural and feel so real, I honestly can’t believe they’re not. Dr. Lawlor and April made the whole experience interesting, painless, and actually a little bit fun. Now I am going back for regular cleanings with Donna, who is a fabulous hygienist whom I’ve known for years. Dr. Lawlor still takes a few minutes to check on my teeth. Hard to believe, but my crowns are hard and sturdy enough to withstand corn on the cob and other favorites that I thought I had to give up. I couldn’t be happier and will sing the praises of Maine Cosmetic Dentistry to anyone willing to listen. Thanks a million to the entire staff at this beautiful and welcoming establishment.

Right from the beginning the ladies at the front desk gave me such a kind welcome! Carolyn was my hygienist and she was absolutely fantastic. Before finding this place, I spent a decade being terrified, just *terrified* of going to the dentist. And you know how that can go--the longer you don't go, the more terrified you get, because you figure things are getting worse and worse and it's this terrible feedback loop making it even more frightening and anxiety producing year after year and THEN: I found Maine Dentistry. I found them because I was looking to see if any local dentists specifically saw patients who were scared of dentists. Their language around making sure patients feel seen and heard and comfortable convinced me to give them a shot. I'm so very glad that I did. Since going, I've had a few cleanings and a few fillings. Every time I'm there I feel cared for, I feel engaged with. During potentially painful procedures, I feel heard about my concerns, and to do I haven't felt *any* of the pain during procedures with dentists in the past. Maine Dentistry is special, and we're lucky to have every single person that works there.

I am a believer in leaving feedback....and I am very excited to leave feedback regarding Dr. Lawlor and his amazing team. I have a history of severe trauma from previous dentists. It takes a lot to get me to the door, let alone through it. We were looking for a safe dentist closer to home when I stumbled upon Dr. Lawlor. Decided to give him a try. My husband was the guinea pig...he has been there for a few appointments and always raves, so I took the step forward and saw him yesterday. Carolyn was so calming in her personal approach. As a person with intense chronic dental anxiety since childhood, it takes a lot for me to be comfortable in the hands of a dentist. Not only is the idea of the dentist quite worrisome for me, but having sensitive teeth heighten that to even more extremes...even a routine cleaning can be jarringly painful if not done with sensitive care & can leave lasting emotional dental weariness. I've had plenty of bad dentist experiences that kept me away from being comfortable having my mouth worked on, but Maine Cosmetic Dentistry has not been one of them & never will be. You walk in to a cozy environment (the people & the atmosphere alike) & the very kind receptionists make you feel right at home. I've been coming here for cleanings & fillings both--fillings are the things that chill me to the core the most, but Dr. Lawlor made a once terrifying experience very, very calm, easy, & as painfree as possible. He didn't brush me off when I told him "fillings are extremely scary & painful", he took it seriously & performed with a lot of care. I appreciate this so much! So five-stars across the board on dental work, & I also must mention that alongside that I have been coming here for several years for work on reducing intense migraine episodes. The crew at Maine Cosmetic Dentistry has shown so much interest, support, & care on helping me reduce these in various ways. I've been to a number of doctors who, like many will, just write prescriptions to mask the problem temporarily...Maine Cosmetic Dentistry wants to fix the problem at the root source, permanently, to help you for the long haul. If you suffer from frequent migraines I highly recommend talking to someone here, they offer so many treatments on reducing frequency & intensity, it has truly saved my life & given me back a lot of days that I normally would spend blinded by unbearable pain. Maine Cosmetic Dentisty gave me my life back. For over a year I had been fighting a severe case of TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) it had taken over my life. Everyday I was taking Advil like candy, I woke up with pain in my face and went to bed crying because it was intolerable by the end of the day. I stopped going out and enjoying life because my facial muscles hurt so bad. I would get awful headaches, pain behind my ears and on really bad days my teeth would hurt. I went to numerous doctors and tried everything I was told that would help me; nothing helped me and no one could help me, until I spoke with Dr. Lawlor. I am from the Bangor area and drove to his practice in Grey because of the travel his team did everything they could in one visit for me. I was there for around 4 hours, normally this would be split up into multiple visits, but because of the distance they stayed with me for over half of the day. Dr. Lawlor' team did multiple test with me throughout the day and because my TMJ was so bad and I was in constant pain Dr. Lawlor made me a mold to wear until my mouth guard was ready.. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???? I had relief within 24 hours. Just 24 hours. I have been living with this pain for over a year and within 24 hours I finally could open my mouth all the way again, I didn't wake up with a headache and I could go for a run without thinking I would regret it after. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Benjamin Lawlor and Maine Cosmetic Dentisty to anyone suffering from TMJ. From the moment I walked in the office to when I left I was so beyond pleased. Starting with the front desk team to the hygienist I worked with all day, they made my time their enjoyable.. Again I would highly recommend this team to anyone suffering from facial pain you don't have to live with it.

I have had chronic migraines for the past 20 years. The severity of the migraines have varied but often they were debilitating enough to largely affect my quality of life. Over this period of time I sought help from two dentists and I followed their recommendations but received no relief. When I moved to Gray I decided to try a new dentist because my pain and frustrations were getting worse. After describing my problem, Dr. Lawlor told me he could help me by correcting my bite and aligning my teeth through Invisalign. It’s been a year since I have been in aligners and my teeth are straighter and my pain level has decreased dramatically. In fact, I no longer wake up in the middle of the night with severe jaw pain. The quality of my life has improved dramatically, my pain level is significantly less and I am able to enjoy life more fully. All thanks to a dentist who is knowledgeable, caring and takes the time to listen to his patients.
