Just got back from this place, and can hardly explain how furious I am. Sat down for a procedure that I didn't understand and was never explained to me. Without a word of conversation, I get four or five syringes pumped into my gums. As I'm losing the ability to speak, the dentist tells me that he's sure that it's what I would have wanted. Actually, there is no way in hell I would ever have agreed to anesthesia during that visit if they had shown the basic human kindness of asking.
Now, I've cancelled the two meetings that I had scheduled for after the appointment -- one of which I simply could not afford to miss. Honestly not sure if the opportunity I just had to forgo is going to re-present itself. Much worse, I'm a no-show at my daughter's school, having promised to meet her for lunch, and it'll be weeks before my schedule allows me to make it up to her. Before I lost my ability to speak, I told them how upset I was, and they just shrugged their shoulders and said it'd wear off in a "couple of hours". Well, it's been a couple of hours, and there's no improvement. A simple Google search indicates that it will in fact be three to five hours before this wears off. Speaking of Google searches, one also informs me of something called Oraverse, which is a pretty common option in this situation, although they did not mention to me, even knowing how upset I was about it.
Needless to say, I'll never, ever set foot in this place again, but felt the need to warn others about the thoughtless, cruel experience I just had so they can avoid it themselves. I'm sorry, if you're about to literally debilitate someone and risk trashing their entire day, you say something. Steer clear.
