I visited another dentist in town before seeing Dr. Castle and his staff. This other office did a quick set of x-rays, the Dr spent about 30 seconds looking at them, then they recommended about $30,000 in work telling me that insurance wouldn't pay for it. I was distraught, in pain, desperate. Fast forward to seeing Dr Castle for a second opinion that I thought was hopeless because of what the other office told me. Dr Castle's staff did their own set of x-rays, then he came to do an examination of me along with his hygienist. He spent a full 45 minutes (you read correctly) checking my x-rays, checking my teeth, asking questions, making recommendations, etc... He developed a treatment plan for me far less aggressive than was recommended by the other office. His staff contacted my insurance and I knew what the charges were before I had to decide. He gave me several options for treatment weighing out the pros and cons of each allowing me to make the right decision for me. I've been through most of the treatments as of now and have dealt with most of the staff here at oak park. All amazing, helpful, put the customer first type people. From the hygienists to the insurance folks to the girls setting up appointments. Bottom line: Dr Castle knows what he is doing and does it well. He takes the time needed to make the right decisions for patients. He could have suggested a more aggressive, expensive treatment for me but did not because he felt that there were better options. I think he truly puts his patients well being above all else. I'd recommend oak park to anyone and after going myself, i won't go anywhere else. I only wish I'd have started with Dr Castle sooner.

They treated my son with the utmost care possible. He was very scared and they assured me that it was okay. They handled the situation very professionally and did their very best to get him to corporate. although he was too afraid, they referred me to a dentist that specializes in children. they were so so so so so understanding of the situation and did everything possible. I would definitely recommend going here. There is no other place like it. Its hard having a child that gets scared easily at things they don't understand yet especially when people just think your child is misbeheaving but this was not the case. They didn't roll their eyes or whisper in the back ground to each other... They simply showed kindness and consideration. I love this place and the people that work there.

I've been using Oak Park Dental for longer than I can remember but it has always been limited to Cleanings. Brandy my Hygienist who has always been phenomenal has, always, always, done a great job and over the years has become more like family rather than just another Hygienist. So, my delima, the other day I broke the root to one of my top front Crowns, no pain involved, just one of those things where you look like one of Jed Clampetts cousins from the Beverly Hillbillies. So here lies the problem, I travel with my work and am in Central Ok about an hour South of OKC. Where do you go, who do you call, How do you find a Dentist you can trust and even though I've seen Brandy a thousand times i still had no ideal personally of what type of work Dr Castle or Dr Ferro performed, were they as good as Brandy are they as reliable as the website describes? So, I make the call and they work me in there busy schedule. Mrs Suzanne, who by the way is a real miracle worker, not only works me in the schedule, she also lines up the lab to be ready once the impression is made and to start work on the flipper that I'm to wear while the graft and implant are taking place and being prepared. So now were down to the final moment, I meet Dr. Ferro and of course it is under a bright light, mouth sort of numb from where the DA had applied the local anesthetic and here we are, where the rubber meets the road. Let me just say, Dr Ferro from start to finish was awesome, never felt the first bit of pain, not even the shots. I've been to a lot of dentist in my life time from everything to the original install of these two top front crowns and the many replacements, along with countless cavities and all 4 wisdom teeth being removed and never, ever have I felt as good coming out of this procedure as I did. Yes, there was a little pain after the local wore off but only had to one of the prescribed pain meds and one Ibuprofen later that evening and by that night all pain had subsided. So, everything from, the prep work, the lab, to the removal of the root was a total miracle and I would recommend to everyone who needs some dental work, from cleaning, to total removal and implants, Oak Park Dental is the place to go. Oh, and by the way, remember Suzanne, the miracle worker? The Lab she set up and the flipper that was made, not only was it made within 24hrs. it was a perfect fit! Thanks Oak Park Dental you've done an awesome job!

Dr.Ferro\Suzanne Great staff and Dr. Dr. Ferro did an x ray found the problem and sent me to set up a date with Suzanne to fix it. This was on a Friday and an emergency visit. Couldnt be sedated on such short notice. Tuesday morning I was there and tooth removed and fixed. I hate a dentist office but they made it easy comfortable where I could relax and paint free as possible, as it was a wisdom tooth removal. They are cating great friendly people.

I am very impressed with Oak Park Dental. Everyone is nice and makes you feel like you are among friends. Beginning with the receptionist right when you walk in. The waiting time to be called back is not long and they take very good care of you. I had a cavity filled yesterday by Dr Ferro and the procedure went well. I felt no pain or discomfort. And he was conversational and made a few jokes which lightened the mood. The only thing I would suggest is to bring a light jacket because the office is very cold. I'm cold natured so it was very cold for me. I also like how they are working with me regarding my dental work, planning everything out. But I really like this dentist and will continue to go.

We've been coming here for 10 plus year, what used to be a premiere place for your family's dentistry needs is but a poor reflection of its former self. Seems the last few years have been a constant downward spiral of issues for them with seemingly no end in sight. They cannot manage to keep good dentists and the ones they do keep have the worst chairside manner "Ferro". The scheduleing is a hot mess, they routinely over book the hygienists and dentist, appointments regularly run over to the point I've had to reschedule. Try finding a parking spot at peak hours, yes they do not have enough parking! And now for the icing on the cake, as if the service wasn't expensive enough here they now charge you 3.75% interest on any payment made with a debit/credit or HSA insurance card. That is on top of the already stratospheric office visit price. I was appalled by this on my list visit, frankly it's unacceptable and unjust. As a small business owner who accepts Amex, who has the highest service rates even I manage to not charge 3.75% on a transaction. But then again we could always go somewhere else as we are only a small unnoticeable spec on castles radar. Hopefully things change soon, Dr tran is the best dentist they have and I'll surely miss her. Update: 7/3/2019 Dr.castle and his staff have since reached out to me and my family to gain a better understanding of what was going on and how best to approach the issues. I absolutely respect the fact that they not only responded to the review but showed a genuine concern for the situation and wanted to make every effort to make it right. Their was no denying they are going thru a transition period with regard to dentists and hygienists. Others are picking up the extra load and trying to keep appointments on time and that has been difficult as of late. I was also assured they are actively working to find a solution to the credit card interest issue, parking problems are also on their radar and hopefully being looked into as well. Our conversion ended with a commitment to address all areas of concern and to once again be the pinnacle of dentistry in this area which I whole heartedly believe they can do! Thanks again for reaching out to me, it truly speaks volumes about your organization.

I was given only half of a smile when promised a whole. It took Dr. Castle almost 2.5 years to do work he gave me.I love my top denture but was left with only four teeth on the bottom. This can and is affecting my health. Now he has my bottom teeth will not pull what's left and after he offered his service for free halfway through he asked me for money I do not have. And every time I had an appt. They would call and reschedule sometimes not for a month or more

Worst Experience ever in a dentist. My wife schedule and appointment for me to go to this place early this week, what a surprise when I called today to confirm the appointment and they didn’t have me on their system, I have to say that a very kind lady fixed that and finally they accepted me to be taken care of. One of my lateral incisors (Right # 7) got chipped and I wanted to get fixed. What a Journey!!! Got to this place, filled all the paper work, and then I was called to the dentist office, many people passed to check on me, but no one took action, one after the other but there was no communication between them, a lot of disorder, finally someone came and took a radiography, several minutes later finally the dentist came, took a look at the work, realized that was pretty simple and then leave. After waiting for at least another good 45 minutes, the dentist came and started the work, I would say it didn’t take him more than 4 minutes to fill the teeth, he was not meticulous at all, after doing the filling, he started to reduce the back part of the filling so my bite came to normal again, I told him I had a night guard and I wanted to keep using it. Here is the crazy part; after a couple of attempts of reducing the back of the filling and me telling him it was not OK yet, he attempts to reduce the inferior incisor (Right # 26), I immediately turn my head back and told him that I came in to get a teeth fixed and not get damaged in another one, after saying this, He stopped and left the job half finished. What was he thinking when he was going to reduce the enamel of my lower teeth??? I still don’t know. Finally, a dental assistant was the one that finished the job.

*Updated* Oh is that why your office took me off the schedule without letting me know when i went there to discuss further??? I showed up on my appt. All i heard from your office was “We took you off the schedule because, you said you don’t wanna come back?!” Then, Why bother leaves replies like you even care? Worst dental business in lake charles and Terrible people who pretend like they are good, but they are so wrong. Once they get their money they don’t care about patient. I have to say that one of asstistance(blonde) is really rude and she has attitude problem. The cashier is untrustworthy and scams. Dr. Ferro and his assistance were disrespecting another patient while they were working on me. When another staff came to him and said “Lady in the room said she can’t breath! What do we do?” And he replied “ tell her to try best she can to breath. There is so much more reason to live .So keep breathing.” He said really sarcastically. And he didn’t even stop working on my teeth whole time. I was like omg what is wrong with this people. You can’t making fun out of patient for something like that. I mean he didn’t even go check up on her and totally just ignored her. No CPR? No medical assistance? No 911??? My unhappy experience with them is started from last month. I went to Oak Park Dental. Because, my crown came off and filling next to that crown came off too. Dr. Ferro said i need 2 crowns. So i asked Susane for some discount since one of the crown isn’t gonna take him to do full work. It already had root canal and eveything done. So this cashier susane said it is already cheap and your insurance company will cover half of it. And. I said “wait a minute. I know i just got dental insurance and i was told i have the waiting period.” She said “ we already called your insurance company and they will cover it. Then, she gave me the new invoice with adjust price. She told me that i need to talk to Dr. Ferro about discount. And she sent me to one of his room, then she has her staff to pull me back to her to cashier desk and said i need to pay the half now. So i had to pay it first then go back to his room and waited him. He finally came after like 30mins later. And he said. He will get back with me after go talk to susane. Yeah right. He never got back with me until this day. And once they got the molding done. Susane gave another paper and said i gotta pay full because, they denied the coverage. Lol... So, i went back a week after crowns done for adjustment. Well, i had to go back again for 2nd adjustment after another 3weeks. he trimmed them too much and they are too small. And it won’t fit right moke like they won’t bite evenly.i guess, They are not happy to see me i guess that blonde assistance was just kept giving me attitude. He took off as always. Susane played dumb again. Sherry got me sit down in her office and tried to fix the issue. But you know what. I will just keep my short crowns even tho’ they called me to be back for another adjustment i guess. I am not going to waste my time. She had her point after she was arguing with me. I asked her ok what kind of warranty do i get since you said this is fine. And there is no issue on my crowns. She said there is none and i was keep trying to explain that i am not feel comfortable how my teeth wont bite like it used to and it kinda crooked. She said what do you want? Do you wanna new crowns? So i said yes. But next thing she pulled it off was you dont have to yell at me. Really? I never was yelling at anyone. I know i am not going back there again or my family and friends as well. They think patients are joke so would you let them fix your teeth? I know i am not.

Worst insurance experience of my life!! and they refused to give me my records! they do NOT know what they are doing or how to properly file insurances when you have two insurance providers! save your money and go to a different location they will try to get every penny out of you they can! They filed with my secondary insurance wrong more than once, also made me pay out of pocket for things I shouldn't have and I told them this! And honestly I haven’t even had any work done here yet, but the service I received today was outstanding. I called with emergency tooth pain and they got me right in, no problems at all. Took X-rays, consulted with the dentist and picked a date to have work done that was good for me so I could come without my son. The dental assistants’ name we had was Summer and let me just tell y’all, she was beyond great talking and interacting with my son while we waited. I felt so bad about having to bring him because he is usually so wild but she was so sweet to him and he really acted accordingly!! Dr Ferro was the dentist and also interacted with my son and was very impressive. I Would highly recommend this place!!

Dr. Castle is very professional and very thorough, but this other man working at that office was horrible...I wasn't going to do this but thinking on it and being that no one has gotten back with us still, I am very disappointed in Oak Park Dental. Being her first time having to see all the tools and different noises and things she was terrified, you've got to explain what's going on before you just throw a mask of gas on her face and shove things in her mouth. Strike one was when we arrived and no one spoke to us for an entire hour, strike two was when they finally did come in after explaining why they couldn't find her in the system because no one charted her x-ray from December which they JUST noticed that there was one cavity found. I understood that part because people make mistakes and I get it. But someone who was so rude, someone who you think is a "professional" and tried all of 3 minutes to get my daughter to cooperate with something shes never been through before then just told us to leave, that was it. Working with children you would think someone would have more compassion and patience. She was very good the entire time and didn't cause anyone any trouble she was just a scared 5 year old. No procedure was preformed even after he put a gas mask on her, he said he was finished. We left quietly and I called the administrator.

I broke a tooth & when my regular dentist had no availability sooner than a week, I jumped at a same-day appointment with Dr. Castle at Oak Park. But it was a scam. They have 5 dentists on staff but there had to be 15 patients when I showed up at 11am. Two of those patients had emergencies too and after a 1-hour-plus wait he put all of us off from anywhere from 3 - 10 days LATER, offering little more than pain meds in the meanwhile. Packing people in like that when you know you can't treat them is downright deceptive & I won't be back.

BEWARE!! they seem pleasant but can and will be very sneaky! i had to move to another dentist because they are not in my network. so i requested my records to bring to my new dentist. it so happens i had a balance, not an outstanding one, one i just received and made a payment on 2 weeks ago and had plans to pay off with my next 2 checks or so. they told me they will not release my records until my balance is paid in full. it just so happens this is illegal. the HIPPA act of 1996 prevents this. they can charge a small fee for them to process and print etc.....but under no circumstances can they with hold your records no matter the amount of money u owe them! please be informed and aware of this!. in short i got my records and paid my balance. i want no connection with this office. things like this can really screw people if they have a procedure that they need or are in a lot of pain. this can and will prolong the process. and they didnt seem to care until i said HIPPA. so if u don't know they will keep getting away with this!

I needed a lot of dental work. I scheduled to get multiple procedures done to maximize my dental insurance and time. The office rescheduled me 3 times only to find out that I could not get all the dental work planned so the doctor could see new patients costing me in lost benefits from last. year and having to pay additional copays. It is all about making money with little regard for the patient. When I questioned my bill, I had to wait an hour and a half to find out they could not even tell me what I had paid and what the insurance was billed for or paid. I was assured I would get copies in the mail in 3 days. Three weeks later, I still did not get anything. I spent another hour figuring out what was billed and paid. Initially, I was being rushed, but I told them I did not want to hear about the next procedure until I fully understood what was billed and paid for each procedure. I did get a refund for overbilling, but it took 2 and a half hours of my time, not counting the extra copays. I cannot and will not recommend this group to anyone. I will suggest they try anyone else. This is by far the worst dental office I have ever dealt with.

I've used Oak Park Dental for a year now and i've given them a few trys already. Dr. Castle is supposed to be my dentist however he's never available to do my cavities (or whatever else i need done). The first cavity i got filled was done by a new Dr. Dr. Tran did a terrible job and created a little bridge with the filling composite and instead of just shaving it off, she insisted that she didn't like the office's composite and completely redid my filling and used her personal stash of composite. The area was sensitive for almost 3 months. I have had fillings before and they have never EVER been sensitive afterwards. Fastforward 6 months to yesterday. I went in to get 3 fillings done by Dr. Mcgee. He numbed me up and then walked away for 10-15 minutes and by the time he came back, the numbing had worn off that he had to poke me again. We did all 3 fillings and he had me bite down on the paper so he knew where to shave down. He told me to call and come in later if i find that my bite is not correct. Halfway back to work, I noticed that i def needed more work done because i could tell my bite was off. About 1 hour later, i was practically on the floor in pain. I took Tramadol, a prescribed pain killer, and 2 hours later, i was still in just as much pain as before. When i finally came in, they told me Dr. Castle was going to look at my fillings and finish them off, but instead I got Dr. Mcgee again. His hygienist was beyond rude when I mentioned to her that I was in pain and said "thats because when we told you to bite on the paper you didnt do it correctly". I couldn't believe her at all. When Mcgee came in i told him to correct little errors first, the composite splatter one of my teeth, the sharp composite edge on another tooth. I then told him i couldn't floss on one side and he proceeded to be able to get his floss in there and very rudely said "here..let me show you how to floss properly"... At last we came to the pain. Without looking in my mouth, he immediately said the pain was MY fault and there was nothing he could do about that. He suggested i take Ibuprofen because he had "back surgery and ibuprofen works better than any tramadol".... I called into another office for an emergency visit since Dr. McGee did absolutely nothing about my pain. The first thing this other dentist said was "wow, your teeth are soo rough and hard to floss"....this is because Dr. McGee's office likes to use composite that feels like cement and then doesn't polish them!! He then went and found that i still had a bunch of exposed Dentine that the dentist missed. Needless to say, im changing dentists immediately! I havent decided yet if im going to write to the Louisiana Board of Dentistry on this man, but im highly considering it. Clearly he and his hygienist need lessons on how to talk to people and how to look for why someone could be in pain. It was clearly his fault that i was in pain, and not mine like both doctor and hygienist kept insisting.

I booked an emergency appointment with Dr. Harry Castle. They made me wait 40 minutes before the nurse took me in. The nurse named summer had no courtesy. She asked what is the problem, I mentioned my right side tooth is hurting. She asked me to open my mouth and pushed the gum so hard that I almost screamed with pain. She didnt care. She took a Xray and told me it was my last wisdom tooth erupting which is causing the pain. She said the Dr. will provide further information. Dr. Castle came in to check. He saw my mouth once, said it is better to remove all 4 of them and he would give me 50% discount. He sounded like a car salesman instead of a dentist. He didnt even bother to ask any question about the tooth pain. He referred me to take a appointment with Dr. Ferro and prescribed medication and walked out. He didnt mention anything about how long I will be suffering with pain or when should I come back to follow up. My husband kept asking the nurse if the Dr. would come back but he never did. Dr. Castle treated like we were not worth his time. We are just commodities not human beings. All they wanted was to remove all 4 wisdom tooth even though he didnt offer any solution for the tooth which is hurting. I would give Zero stars but google would not allow. Two days after taking medication no improvement in condition. I am thinking about visiting another dentist to get second opinion. Dont waste your time and money at this clinic.

Recently I had to find a dentist, for the most part they have always scared me. I ended up going to Oak Park. I am not going to lie, my dentist and I didn't get off on the right foot, but I chose to stay with him and we began to mesh together well. There is something special about Oak Park that makes you feel great. The receptionist, knows my name and warmly greets me, the techs; Taylor, Summer, and Ashleigh treat me as though we have known one another forever, and Sue who helps with appointments and accepts my payments is always pleasing to speak with. Let me just start by saying I’ve had many dentists in my 26 years. Since I was in the military and have moved all over this great country and Dr. Kyle Ferro is top notch. He has done so much GREAT WORK for me and my husband. Recently he redid my front teeth. Being foolish and not listening to him tell me I should get crowns was a big mistake. I ended up breaking a tooth while pregnant and boy did I learn my lesson having to wait until I had my baby to have it fixed. I have had wonderful work here in the last three and half years. Please get a second opinion. I had two crowns and one was with a root canal and the root canal and the tooth broke off at the gum line after 2 years. The other crown broke in half after maybe around 3 years. I have had crowns last as long as I have started seeing a dentist as a young child. Dr. Castle and his staff are very rude. My husband was asking questions about a concern about my crown coming off not long after it was done, and he actually argued with my husband. The staff make you feel like your being held up to pay for services before you leave and always rude. Just giving my honest experience! I know how Lake Charlesprodomenite conglomerates stick together and if you not in the group your expedited and many will beg to differ with my opinion. I have noticed one of their Post to save grace is "You don't seem to be a patient of ours" well not anymore I GAR-N-TEE!
