Dr. Thanki & his staff are very polite. Your dental health is their upmost concern. You don’t have to worry about them wanting to do any dental work that isn’t necessary. They are very accommodating in working with your schedule to get you in for an appointment. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Thanki for about 18 yrs & have only seen other dentist when my dental insurance changed. Thankfully it just changed to where I could see him again!

The most pleasant dentist office I’ve ever been to. I took all three of my boys at the same time ages 8, 5, and 3. The staff was welcoming and understanding. One of my littles needed a filling and the other needed caps on his molars. They did them both on the spot - no waiting. I feel like I’ve found a family dentist to last a very long time.

I went to Dr. Thanki thrice. I was referred to Thanki’s office when I moved to LA by my boyfriend, now husband. Here’s what I loved about the office: 1. The front desk associate, Kathryn, was very sweet, prompt to help with whatever I needed, and scheduling my family of 4 to get exams (not an easy feat with our schedules). 2. Dr. Thanki’s dental assistant was tender-hearted, thorough with answering questions, and gave an over-all relaxing and calming experience. 3. Dr. Thanki called me back personally the first time. He took us back to his office to introduce himself and get to know us. Great first impression. I really thought I had found my forever dentist. Here’s why I will not be back, and why my husband and I have decided to find a new dentist: Let me start by saying that I had a phobia of oral shots as a teen after I received a shot, having no anesthetic applied prior to. I went to Dr. Thanki's office for 5 fillings, meaning 3 shots. I was nervous the entire morning prior to the appt. Dr. Thanki did the first shot, but the second shot, beforehand, I noticed my mouth was not numb, and I could feel everything. I let a “cuss word” out (NOT directed towards any of the staff, it just hurt), but didn’t move or say it aggressively. Dr. Thanki turned off his light, mumbled something about not accepting that language in his practice, and told me I could find a new one. He walked out of the room. His dental assistant let me know that she was going to give me some time to relax, but did a great job of comforting me and reassuring me. Thanki made it seem like I was physically aggressive and a safety threat. I tried to explain that I was very sorry, and did not mean to say it, but he wasn’t having it. My husband was in the next room, waiting for his procedure, and heard what was going on. He came over to comfort me and I filled him in (I’m trying not to cry, feeling like a horrible person as this has never happened before, feeling like I’m a toddler in time-out, essentially). Dr. Thanki comes in and tells me he thinks I need to take a personal day to work on my anxiety. I explain that I already am handling it (I had to stop anxiety meds due to health reasons). Then he recommended total sedation…. EXCUSE ME? I said one bad word, was not aggressive, etc. I explained that I was nervous about the shots, and after we get through that I will be fine. I assure him that won’t be necessary, but Thanki is still insisting. He then bypassed my opinion, and asks my husband, “Any suggestions?” My husband told him if I was feeling okay, then I’m okay. So we go ahead and start over. I again apologize over and over, and Thanki explained why he acted like that. Did the shots again, and I was fine (as promised). He then tells me I need to listen to my music on my phone. I tell him that not hearing things makes things worse, so I would prefer not to. That was unacceptable to him. He put on headphones to a local classic rock station (HATE), but the volume was so low I could still hear everything (THANK GOD). I get through half of the fillings, and then tell him that I can’t hear the music, so can we have the headphones removed? Nope. He turned the volume up so I could hear it. I basically finished the remainder of the procedure unhappily listening to music I hate, when I would have been fine without music (as I had heard most of the procedure anyways). My opinion was not acknowledged. I went home and cried the rest of the day. I was so upset, and felt dehumanized. If he can’t handle my anxiety over shots, he has absolutely no business working on my special-needs child, or other two family members. My husband, who had been in the other room getting periodontal cleaning, filled me in when I picked him up that Dr. Thanki had told him let me know how sorry he was, and said he just wanted me to have a good experience. I understand I should have kept the swear word to myself and selected a different one, but his reaction was completely over the top, and asking my husband to speak for me seemed misogynist. I wont return.

Best dentist in the world! We have seen Dr Thanki after years of looking for the right(caring, sensitive) dentist. The work is NEVER unnecessary and always very fair. He works to help you find solutions and calls you back(himself) as quickly as possible. I cannot say enough how impressed we are with his staff. They ARE the best. The atmosphere at Dr. Thanki's office is very nice. The staff is knowledgeable of every procedure and aid you in taking care of your teeth at home properly. Doctor Thanki make sure that you're comfortable and explains the process to a "t". Had a tooth extracted yesterday needless to say I was completely terrified. The staff made sure to keep me calm and talk me through everything and kept reassuring me that everything was going to be fine. Dr. Thanki is such a terrific dentist that makes you feel so comfortable in the most unpleasant situations. He even called me this morning personally to check up on me. By far the best dental practice I have ever been to.

Dr. Thanki and his staff are very warm. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with them from the very first time I called them, to leaving his office after this last round of dental treatment. One thing that impressed me is the first time that I visited his office, I was given the opportunity to sit with him in his office and get to know him a bit personally before dental work was even discussed. He listened to all of my concerns, was very thorough in all explanations, and wanted to make sure that I understood all treatment options, as well as what I would be getting into with each one. Each time that I have an appointment, I am never left waiting. I am always immediately greeted, and typically brought to the back within a couple of minutes of my arrival every time. This impresses me, as I know that he and his staff offer quality one-on-one services, and I know that he isn't rushing me simply to get to the next patient. I doubt that anyone gets excited to visit the dentist for any kind of treatment, but because of the way that Dr. Thanki and his staff at Complete Family Dentistry treat me every time I visit, I look forward to returning IF I ever do need additional work. I haven't had a dentist like him and would gladly recommend him to anyone!
