As a person who isn't the biggest fan of going to the dentist, I always look forward to my appointments at Ascension Premier Dental with Dr. Bessonet. They are very friendly and professional and make me feel like family. Dr. Bessonet and his staff are always sure to thoroughly explain the work that they will be doing and make sure you leave pain free. I had my first procedure done a while back by Dr. Bessonet and he informed me of everything he would be doing. I did not feel anything during the procedure and left without any pain. If you're looking for a trustworthy dentist and dependable staff, I highly recommend Dr. Bessonet, for I am sure you will not be disappointed. I travel from Houma, LA to Geismar, LA to go to the dentist. I'm the kind of person that hates going to the dentist. They make you feel at home over there and make you as comfortable as possible. A few weeks ago I had a tooth that needed a root canal and a crown. I was in so much pain and Calvin was able to squeeze me in to help me out. After a recent visit to Ascension Premier Dental, I felt compelled to write this review. I first started going to Dr. Bessonet about 5 years ago, and have been very pleased, but it was after my last visit that I realized how lucky I was to stumble upon Dr. Bessonet as my Dentist. I realized that going to his office is actually as fun as going to the Dentist can be. Both he and his staff are very down to earth an friendly, and they really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and stress free during your visit. If you have ever had a bad experience with a Dentist, you will surely understand how nice it is to find one that you can trust. There are several reasons that I have recommended Dr. Bessonet to both family and friends over the years, but a few of them are that you will have a minimal wait to be called back once arriving for your appointment, his office is very clean and up to date in terms of technology, and he is set up with automated text messages and emails to schedule and remind you about upcoming appointments. While these are all reasons that I continue to see him as my Dentist, the thing I like the most about Dr. Bessonet and his staff is that they take a very down to earth approach and will make sure to explain what is going on with your dental health in a very easy to understand, non intimidating manner. If you are unhappy with your current dentist, or have recently had a bad experience, give Dr. Bessonet and his staff a try, I am confident you will not be disappointed.

I am a new patient to Doctor Bessonet. I was very satisfied with my previous Dentist ( or so I thought ), but I wanted to find a new Dentist closer to my home in Ascension Parish. I was very impressed with the professional staff and cleanliness of Doctor Bessonet's office. My original visit with Doctor Bessonet was for my bi-annual teeth cleaning and to check on some extreme sensitivity. It turns out that I needed root canals in three teeth. This process required replacing three crowns. Crown work in the past was a little uncomfortable and usually took a few days to recover from the minor to moderate pain of gum scraping and fitting. In the past my crowns basically never felt normal. However, with Doctor Bessonet I experienced no such pain or discomfort and my new crowns feel comfortable and natural in my mouth. I was nervous going to the dentist b/c I had to get a crown, but I was really satisfied with Ascension Premier Dental. First, I was really impressed how my own patient room had it's own TV (I think I saw one in each room!) to take my mind off of my procedure. The nurses/hygenists made sure I was numbed up enough and talked to me about other patients' experiences with the anesthesia which put my mind at ease. Dr. Bessonet was calm, professional and in particular wanted to make sure the crown fit my mouth perfectly and would not have problems w it in the future. I had as great of an experience as you are going to have at a dentist - so I would recommend them.

I am not the biggest fan of dentist as had some bad experiences in the past, but I am glad that I went to Dr. Bessonet. So far he has been the best I have come across in my life time. Very sharp, knowledgeable and aggressive as wants to address the issue/problem right away with the game plan. State of art facility with friendly and trained staff makes you feel comfortable. Also, since he is a perfectionist the procedure has continued to last and look as good as the day I got them fixed. This is also the place i recently got my wisdom teeth out, which did not cause any pain. I would not recommend any other dentist or team of hygienist.

From the time you walk through the front door until the time you leave, you are treated with warmth and care. I have had everything from just a cleaning to major dental work getting a gum graph and no matter how big or how small, you are treated with the same professionalism and care. Every time I hear some one with a horror story about the dentist I immediately reccomend Dr. Bessonet III. At one time I was that horror story and now I could not be happier or more at ease when I go to the dentist. They truley are all amazing and I will not go anywhere else.

My daughter has celiac and her teeth are in bad shape. Went to him and he seemed nice enough, especially when quoting us an 11800 price. He insisted on the first payment of 6600 before he would even schedule the appointment. On the day of her appointment he had some type of equipment person there and held up her appt for 30 minutes causing her to have a panic attack. He had prescribed her pills to take before which had no effect probably due to her gastroparesis. He finally came in and started the iv. It had no effect on her at all. I'm a little unsure whether he even gave her the actual meds in the iv. She is 5 feet tall and 120lbs and it didnt phase her. He turned instantly unfriendly. He wanted nothing more to do with her and offered no options. It took me weeks to get a refund minus 300.00 for the iv drug that I suspect was saline. It's a little farfetched to think he gave her iv sedation and she never even got drowsy the entire day. This has been an upsetting ordeal. Personally I think he's an uncaring person out for the most money he can get. I wouldnt recommend him to anyone.

I couldn't ask for a better experience and service anywhere! My daughter had a wisdom tooth emergency and instead of making her wait and suffer Dr. Bessonet went above and beyond to get her antibiotics and schedule surgery quickly. It was hassle free and everyone in the office was a pleasure to be around. Phenomenal customer service!!! They have made life long patients out of myself and family members. I have been wanting to go to a dentist for a long time. I've been in Louisiana for over 17 years and have never been to a dentist. I have a big fear of going. I woke up this week with a toothache and knew something had to be done, it was not going to go away. I chose this office because my daughter went there a while ago and had a pleasant experience. I entered nervous and not wanting to be there. The front desk is very friendly and said I'd have a wonderful experience. Turns out I had to have a root canal and they performed it right then and there. My experience - it was wonderful, not what I was expecting. The dental assistant was phenomenal and calmed me on all my fears. Very helpful with explaining all my other issues that had to be addressed at a later date, also going over finances. The Dr. was very professional and spent time with me explaining what had to be done. All in all, it was a very good experience, I would recommend this office to my friends and family. Although I am not looking forward to my next few visits, I will not enter their office being nervous and upset. I was very pleased with my experience. Great staff and Dr.!!

My son recommended I go there. He knows how afraid I am of the dentist. I have to have gas to have my teeth cleaned. Dr Bessonet recommended I get a wisdom tooth pulled & 2 crowns. He gave me Meds to take before I left home & an IV sedation when I got there. I woke up four hours later thinking I had missed my appointment. My tooth was extracted & my crowns done. I was so excited that I never knew anything. Dr Bessonet is highly recommended. I will never change to anyone else. I've used the same dentist for eight years- I knew he was about to retire- and I didn't know what I was going to do to find one I would be comfortable with. Thank Goodness my son sent me there. So glad I found Ascension Premier Dental from a Facebook post about dental implants, something I was in need of. Decided to call for appointment and it didn't take long for the wonderful, friendly staff to help get that set up. After my consultation, Dr.Calvin Bessonet made it easy for me to decide to have the dental implant. On the day of the procedure they helped me to be very comfortable with no pain during or after having a back tooth extraction and dental implant on the same day. I was actually smiling while the dental work was being done mainly because it didn't hurt! Went home after my appointment, thinking the pain was going to kick in really bad that night. Dr Bessonet and his staff at Ascension Premier Dental literally saved my life. LastTuesday ( the day before school started) I experienced the worst pain that I have ever felt in my mouth. I wasn't sure what was going on, so once we were excused for lunch, I decided to go across the street to Ascension Premier Dental. I wasn't sure that I would be seen but as soon as Dr Bessonet's staff saw the pain in my face, they quickly worked me into the schedule. Once X-rays were taken, the diagnosis was not good and I needed immediate service according to Dr Bessonet. I knew he was right because the pain was unbearable but I told him that I was a teacher and I couldn't miss the first day of school. In addition, my son was going to start 4th grade , I had to get my daughter ready for Kindergarten, and I have severe anxiety with Dentists. Dr Bessonet and staff patiently discussed everything with me while I cried,then they scheduled an emergency root canal at the end of my work day and eliminated my pain. I owed them much gratitude because, my pain was completely gone and my children and I had a great 1st, 2nd, and 3rd day of school. Dr Bessonet called and checked on me the next day. I have never experience such compassion and excellent service at a Dental office. If you are looking for Dentist, I highly recommend Dr Bessonet

I do not usually leave reviews but after my experience at this dental office I felt I had to. First of all, my former dentist, replaced my old silver fillings "even though I had NO PAIN". Well soon after he replaced the fillings the pain started!! He then told me I needed a root canal and a crown after he drilled my tooth down to hardly anything trying to relieve the pain. It was then that a friend referred me to Dr. Bessonet as he was like a oral surgeon, because of all the extra training, but with dentist prices and most of all he believed him to be honest. I decided to drive 2 hours to Dr. Bessonet's office. As soon as I got there, I was treated like family and was very impressed with the office and staff. Once I met with Dr. Bessonet he began his magic, He DID NOT DO A ROOT CANAL NOR A CROWN, what he did I can only describe as "built a crown out of a filling" It took a lot of work on his part but he saved me THOUSANDS!!! Surely he could have taken the easier way out and made more money himself and would have done it without the hard work , BUT he DIDN'T. He is the best dentist I have ever seen and the tooth is still going strong. I honestly don't know of any dentist who could have done what he did, NOR would have. I have since made the long drive for all my cleanings, fillings, etc...I even have sent my family and friends to him. WE NEED MORE HONEST AND EDUCATED DENTIST LIKE DR. BESSONET

On December 5, 2017 I had a root canal and crown done and guess what it didn't hurt me at all! I will admit that the needles for numbing are not pleasant, but I was completely numb and didn't feel anything just the sounds of noise and pressure.
