He is amazing at helping me figure out why and how my neck, shoulder and back muscle pain is related to the TMJ injury and what I can do to speed my recovery. He has been as helpful to me as my primary doctor when it has come to overall structure and posture health. He and his staff are very knowledgeable about much more than just my teeth. They have also introduced me to some supplements that have been a critical piece to my healing. Would highly recommend to anyone who is struggling with TMJ issues! His staff has also been excellent at helping me schedule appointments around my busy schedule! He is definitely a one shop stop when it comes to TMJ!!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Baba and his staff! I have suffered for 25+ years with TMJ problems and have sought treatment from endless doctors with little success. Going through treatment at the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Center has helped me more than anything else I have tried. Lifestyle changes, becoming more aware of triggers, and the actual day and night appliances have helped tremendously. I also became aware of breathing issues I had and was referred to a great ENT doctor who helped resolve those problems. The staff is highly knowledgeable and always friendly, and Dr. Joe is just the best - you can tell he knows more about jaw joint dysfunction than anyone I've ever worked with, and he also has a very kind and caring manner. I even took my daughter in to get a head start on some bite issues she was having and we saw very quick results. I highly recommend this practice for anyone suffering from jaw pain, migraines, or sleep problems. They are the real deal!

I was told to expect at $50 consultation appointment and instead was told (after the appointment of course) that, not only was the consultation actually $546 (due before we left the building), but that the “treatment” would cost an additional $5,560. This was a pretty shocking price tag for 2 mouth guards and 4 “free” appointments. Additionally, a portion of the $5,560 is 10 “highly researched” supplements that they provide and they won’t guarantee results unless you purchase them. The supplements included a turmeric blend, an omega supplement, and a mysterious powder called a calm drink..? I believe Dr. Babba is knowledgeable & well intentioned, but the entire 3 HOUR visit was a sales pitch. There were probably 8 different people in and out through the appointment, at least 2 of whom were exclusively there to push sales. I’m not sure I can even call the overpriced information I received helpful as they make the solution unattainable because of the cost. There is a financing option offered of course, though the interest rate is a ridiculous 14.9%. I got a better interest rate on my first credit card as a teenager. They also tell you you must cut out all dairy, grains, and sugar from your diet during all ongoing treatment. If you have endless resources and a desire to add some turmeric to your life, this may be a place for you. For us plebeians however, I would definitely NOT recommend.

Dr Baba and his staff are wonderful. I learned a great deal and came away very hopeful that this painful TMJ problem can be non-surgically fixed. The exam was incredibly thorough and everything was explained in a clear and positive manner. The only negative I have, and it has Nothing to do with the Dr or staff, is that none of the exam and treatment protocol is eligible for insurance help. It is expensive; but I am willing to make payments for a short time in order to eventually be pain-free. It is too early to have experienced success yet, but based on the care I received at this friendly office and the hope I have for recovery, I highly recommend Dr. Baba for fellow TMJ sufferers.

I went to Dr. Baba on a referral 5 years ago for pretty severe TMJ. Him and his team have taken the best care of me and gave me a normal life pain free from where I started. I just received my retainers today. It's not typical for the process to take so long but they have been very patient and helpful to get me where I need to be. I started out living in Wichita but in the last year and a half moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth and continued to make the drive for Dr. Baba to treat me. I can't say enough good things about all of them.

I have been treated for TMJ for almost 25 years. I've gone to at least 4 other Dr's, one that specializes in TMJ and an Orthodontist. I can honesty say this is the best treatment so far! The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly! I have yet to ask a question they have not had an answer for. I can not say just how impressed I have been with them all. If you are suffering, don't put off going any longer. You will not regret it!!!

Run the other way!! My daughter and I experienced the profound and costly misfortune of ever stepping foot in this place, at the referral of a dentist. After several weeks and numerous trips to Wichita, what we ended up with is a cheap set of plastic appliances that provided questionable-at-best results and a whopping $6000 bill (which is required up front and “wouldn’t be covered by any Kansas health insurance plan” according to the office staff- clue #1). From beginning to end, each visit seemed like a well-orchestrated sales presentation and when we began to eventually see that any meaningful progress toward the desired result simply wasn’t happening, a thousand excuses were given as to why we must have been the “1% exception” or why we must have been to blame for not following the program’s strict, no dairy, no grain diet plan and/or not using each of their highly over-priced dietary supplements and relaxation remedies as they specifically instructed us. After months with marginal-at-best results, and repeated references to future add-on services (at an additional charge) that might be required if the traditional treatment failed, we finally cut our ties and our losses. As our patience grew thin and our financial resources were depleted (we ended up financing through the office and paying a seriously high interest rate), we began to hear about other people with the same complaint as we had (some literally complaining in the office as we were there). We eventually quit going, as it was apparent the desired result was simply never going to happen. I came away from this costly experience frustrated, disappointed, and saddened for my daughter who still suffers. Beware!! Definitely would NOT recommend!!!

Dear Dr. Baba and Staff, I want to sincerely thank you for all that you have done for me. Another practitioner previously diagnosed me with TMJ 10 years ago after my jaw locked shut; I was given an appliance to wear all day and sent on my way. After a bad experience with the previous practitioner my appliance became my new normal. I was happy I could open my mouth and eat normally, but I was too scared from that point on to see anyone regarding my teeth or jaw. Fast-forward to 10 years later and my daily appliance broke, I was finally forced to seek help. I am so very thankful I found Dr. Baba and his team. After my initial examination I found that my jaw was still locked. Dr. Baba showed me that what I had accepted as my normal was not good enough and I could live a much healthier comfortable life. I had my first appointment here back in August of 2018. I had been having TMJ issues for nearly 2 years, that began with jaw locking and progressed. My jaw was in terrible shape, I had constant popping and clicking, extreme pain, jaw locking that could last up to 3 hours, couldn't breathe through my nose, was having severe asthma problems, and went to bed with an ice pack on my face almost every night. I was in the office for 5 hours my first visit, doing all types of test, x-rays, pictures, and airway images. To find out I had a severe sinus infection and major bone loss from the friction in my jaw. Normal friction when opening and closing your mouth is suppose to be around a 20 on their grading scale, my first appointment my levels were over 300 on each side! Today my left side is at a 21 and right is at a 68, still not great but a million times better. Bone on bone contact is now almost non-existent and I have a drastic decrease in inflammation. I have had no locking in months, very little clicking, and no hard popping at all! I haven't followed the diet as well as I should have and I don't wear my day time appliance as much as I should, but if I had I can hardly imagine any better results. However, I did finish all the supplements I was on and I wear my night time appliance every night! I rarely have any pain other than a little muscle soreness after I've been wearing my appliances for several hours. The treatment is pricey but my results have been better than I could have ever imagined! I'm sure surgery and post treatment would have cost even more. I am so glad I found a dentist who listened to me when I addressed the issue and wasted no time on getting me a referral! I would highly recommend Dr. Baba and the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre of Kansas to anyone suffering from TMJ issues. They don't look for a quick fix and they search for the root of the problem. I see the doctor everytime I am in the office and all of the staff are great, very caring, and know who you are every time you come in! For the first time in my life (that I can remember) I can breathe through my nose and my posture has also improved!!! I'd rather pay the money over and over again than to ever suffer from the issues I was having again! If you follow their recommendations you will see results!

However, I did finish all the supplements I was on and I wear my night time appliance every night! I rarely have any pain other than a little muscle soreness after I've been wearing my appliances for several hours. The treatment is pricey but my results have been better than I could have ever imagined! I'm sure surgery and post treatment would have cost even more. I am so glad I found a dentist who listened to me when I addressed the issue and wasted no time on getting me a referral! I would highly recommend Dr. Baba and the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre of Kansas to anyone suffering from TMJ issues. They don't look for a quick fix and they search for the root of the problem. I see the doctor everytime I am in the office and all of the staff are great, very caring, and know who you are every time you come in! For the first time in my life (that I can remember) I can breathe through my nose and my posture has also improved!!! I'd rather pay the money over and over again than to ever suffer from the issues I was having again! If you follow their recommendations you will see results!

Update: I could not recommend Dr. Baba and his crew more! They are all so caring and after how much better I have felt since treatment I SO wish I would've took the initiative to see them sooner! They are super knowledgeable and have a non invasive approach. My continuous popping, tension headaches, and difficulty chewing are 100% gone! They referred me to an awesome ENT to address my difficulty breathing through my nose. This treatment has been life changing for me. If you think you may be suffering TMJ disorder then please do yourself a favor and seek their treatment, it was worth every penny! Side notes: Don't let the diet or supplements scare you away. I cut back on sugar and grains as my schedule and finances didn't enable me to follow the diet as strictly as I would've liked. I had seen functional medicine providers before and which helped reduce inflammation which may have helped jump start my treatment. I wore the daytime appliance or nighttime appliance the entire time that was recommended and had one of the most significant improvements they had seen. Now all I have to do is wear a nighttime appliance, which I don't mind because it's comfier than not wearing it and I sleep so much better! Original: I had my first appointment yesterday and I have to say that I'm super impressed with Dr. Baba and his team. He is extremely knowledgeable and spends time explaining the interaction and reason behind the condition. I am finally hopeful that I will find relief even if it involves wearing a night time appliance what's unique is he strategically positions the appliance to stabilize and correct the jaw rather than simply protecting the teeth from damage from grinding.
