My first appointment at Family & Implant Dentistry ranked as the lower customer service experience I have ever received. I was referred to the dentist office by a fellow employee but would never recommend them to anyone. The office staff and dental assistants were very courteous and willing to help but the financial adviser alone caused a horrible customer service experience. She was rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to discuss how my dental insurance would be covered by their office. I left their office without receiving any procedures because I was so appalled with her attitude and lack of customer service skills. The financial adviser alone created a bad name for the Family & Implant Dentistry and caused me and my staff to never continue business with them.

Since than I have been very happy with the work, the advice, the professionalism, and the friendlness of all the professional and office staff there. Beware!!! My son, a KSU student, went to this office for a normal dental cleaning. He asked if they accepted Delta Dental of KS for insurance and they said yes. He went for his cleaning and they "upsold" him on getting a flouride treatment even though he is 21 years old. He was told that insurance would not cover that and so he paid for that out of pocket the day of service. He was told "that is all you will owe for." 3 weeks later, we receive a bill in the mail for additional costs even though our insurance plan covers cleanings at 100%. I called and spoke with Tammy in the insurance and billing department. She advised that I contact my insurance to see what the problem might be. After speaking to insurance I was informed that this office is a "Premier Provider" so the benefits only pay at 80%. So when I called to question Tammy as to why this was not said to my son when he asked about accepting Delta insurance and I asked why they told him he would not owe for anything more than the flouride treatment, she immediately got very defensive. She told me that my communication was angry and that if I wanted them to "gift" this amount we "owed" then I should have just said that. I told her that I believed it was their responsibility to inform patients what their insurance covers when specifically asked if they take that patients insurance. Not being up front and honest about the fact that they are a different level of provider is shady and dishonest. She told me they would credit my son's account for the amount owed. Conversation done. Or so I thought...she then immediately called my son and told him that because "your mom was very very very upset we will gift this to you." Not until a second phone call back to Tammy and a lot of giving me the "run around" and excuses as to why she said the things she said, including attempting to tell me that she did not tell my son they were gifting this because I was upset and why the office operates in this shady and dishonest way, did she finally admit that they were in the wrong. Her customer service skills are basically non existant and not until the end of the second conversation where I was very direct about the fact that I was going to give them a poor review online did she apologize. The entire time, she had all the excuses in the world and said that this was not their mistake and that they were doing us some sort of "favor" for them to credit the bill. This is not the kind of business I want for my family's dentist needs. Your customer service and the skills and talent of your Dr's should sell your business to the public and make them want to be your customer which in turn will make you money and your business succesful, not shady and dishonest ways of billing for more money once the customer has already received services. We will never go back to this office and I caution anyone with a KSU student to not send their son or daughter to this office. Edited to add: There is nothing confusing about insurance coverage that is very straight forward. It was not a misunderstanding...it was a blantant disregard for the truth and terrible customer service when questioned about it.

My 6 year old daughter fell and knocked her permanent front tooth out on a Thursday night. We took her to the ER where the ER Dr put the tooth back in with instructions to see a pediatric dentist in the morning. Well, not possible on a Friday...they were all closed! We called Family and Implant Dentistry who agreed to see her. They were wonderful! The staff so friendly & professional. Dr Walker was exceptional. He explained things very well & was excellent with our daughter. I am so grateful for them taking care of my little girl.

I became acquainted with this dental clinic and could not be happier. I have been a nurse since 78 and have seen and experienced many situations. I am being 100% honest this clinic is exceptional. My assigned person was truly amazing. She was like an artist at fitting me for a crown. The tempoary looked better than the actual finished crowns received elsewhere. The group took time to ensure color matches.....i cant share enough positive about this. My Doc was amazing. Front staff as well. I loved the flo of great energy of the staff. It seemed they truly like what they do.....what a pleasant environment. I've had many many dental experiences over years and years ranging from fillings crowns and dental implant but this clinic is the BEST I've encountered. They have such precision when fitting you for a crown. Expert advise. Happy people. Seriously have ZERO concerns. In my years of dental experiences this clinic provided me the BEST care and services I've ever had. I sincerely recommend them.

I developed a terrible toothache and had called around 15 places that had no available time to see me until the next week. They got me right in! (I had to travel an hour, but was fine with that)! I was given some powerful antibiotics, and pain medication. It hurt so bad I couldn't sleep and I was extreamly nauseated. I was able to sleep that night and the pain was almost gone by the next afternoon. I highly recommend them! And if you're afraid of the dentist...this is a good place to go. You're surrounded by kind, compassionate and understanding people from the second you walk in the door.

I started going to Family and Implant 9 years ago when I moved to Manhattan to attend Kstate. These guys are extremely refreshing. Sometimes it can be a bit stale when you go into medical facilities, but every time I go for my 6 month check up, or take my son for his, I get a warm welcome the minute I step in the door... but the best part is getting taken back and in no time at all, chatting it up with everyone back there... This crew is so cool. They find an amazing balance between being super professional and just plain awesome. Anytime any of my friends or family that live nearby indicate they are looking for a dentist, I become F&I's #1 salesperson, simply because I genuinely want everyone I love to be taken care of by the best of the BEST. Left today very disappointed. Had agreed on a plan for my 4 yr old's crown at the last visit with Dr. Snowden and it was clearly articulated that we would not elect nitrous and that I would accompany her for the procedure. This was agreed on before scheduling the procedure. We show up today for the procedure and doc sends up an assistant to let me know I would not be allowed back. It feels like we were duped to get scheduled, then went back on their word. If it's office "policy", don't lie to get me scheduled at the consult and waste our time by going back on the agreement when it comes procedure time. I don't treat my patients that way, and it's not the way I expect to be treated either. We will be taking our family dentistry needs elsewhere.

I have had pretty good luck with them after changing to here from another dentist. The dentist and staff have been good to work with, the billing department is another story. I specifically told them my dental insurance changed, they copied my card and everything. After an expensive job, I paid what I was told to pay, and they sent the rest of the bill to my old insurance, needless to say I get a bill in the mail saying insurance denied and the bill I was to pay. It work my butt off paying my bills, it is more than a little frustrating when the billing departmemt screws up and bills me for even more.

Love, love, love this place! Everyone is so friendly and caring. We started seeing Dr. Walker 13 years ago, back when I was a big baby when it came to dentists, and he treated me with kid gloves. I needed a crown and he put me at ease...every appointment since then, I have truly enjoyed because of him; he's so compassionate and caring. The whole staff is compassionate and caring and have been by our side throughout a 14 year journey with my daughter. At age 2, I noticed she had an open bite. At age 5, she began seeing Dr. Walker and he monitored her bite for 2 years before sending us to an orthodontist. All she has been able to chew with are her molars, eight teeth touching-that's it. So you can only imagine that, over the years, those teeth became worn down several times and Dr. Walker was there to build them back up until we could have surgery (at age 16) to fix this bite. We are now 4 months post-op and Dr. Walker has been there every step of the way, calling to check on her daily after her surgery, sent flowers to the hospital, and is now monitoring those molars to see how many will need crowns because of the wear and tear over the years. I know not everyone will have a problem to this extent, but my reason for sharing this is to show how much, not only Dr. Walker, but EVERYONE in this office actually cares! They have all shown concern for my daughter and have been a great source of support. I would recommend anyone in this office. Thank you Dr. Walker and Family & Implant Dentistry for helping to give my daughter the most gorgeous smile in the whole world. And thanks for holding our hands. Top notch dental care with an assortment of awesome dentist's to chose from who all have amazing chair side manner. They are great with all ages, young and old! So happy I chose them! I have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist but had a tooth infection I knew needed to get taken care of. From the start, they let me know what was going on, how much everything was going to cost, and what to expect for my next visit. They helped me figure out what was best to spend my money on, and didn't try to convince me to get unnecessary procedure. Yesterday, I had my tooth removed and was feeling really scared about what that would be like. But they made me feel so comfortable, in control, and were kind and understanding of my anxiety. I started going here about six months ago. I've neglected the care of teeth due to financial and other life reasons, so I have a lot of work that needs to be done. I'm missing a few major back teeth, so chewing has been difficult and only on one side. I needed three root canals to be done along with several cavities, and implants eventually. Thanks to Family and Implant, soon I will finally be able to chew on the right side of my mouth, (pretty major for me haha). I was in insane amounts of pain when I first came, which was due to the root canals that needed to be done. Dr. Snowden was very personable and performed a procedure to medicate and eliminate my pain. Dr. Witcher has done most of the work with the root canals, and has performed the most painless and cosmetically sound work I've ever had. My maximum was used up quick due to these, and I was very depressed when I wondered how I would pay for the rest all at once, worrying I wouldn't get my teeth fixed, but they are willing to set up arrangements for me so this can be done; doing this shows they care about my health, and not just the money. I could not be more thankful, along with the attitudes and kind service of the staff, notably Shelly and Trish. It takes a lot to get up that early and have a great attitude, yet I have not worked with a staff member with less than that. These people truly care and have a superior standard. And I've seen a lot of dentists o.O

If you are a young college student and need a dentist, go across the street from this place. My 22 year old son got his front tooth knocked out and went there for help. They got him out of pain and pulled the nerve out of the broken tooth, but then strung him along for over two weeks and wouldn't even give him an appointment to get it fixed permanently. And that was after he had paid them for half of the proposed treatment plan - over $1400, which they were quick to accept, but slow to return when he went in to get his money back. He went across the street and got it taken care of the next day. Giving them one star only because it won't let me post if I don't.

My sentiments mirror the other poster in the fact that "the office staff and dental assistants were very courteous and willing to help". However after that everything went downhill. We initially paid a lot of money out of pocket for minor procedures and were then assured that our insurance would coverage the rest. Four months later they call us saying we owe them another amount, higher than previously stated, needed a new address and that they were going to resubmit it to the insurance. We gave them the required information and waited to receive a call back, we then didn't hear from them for six months and then recently got a call saying WE over EVEN MORE THAN BOTH OF THE PREVIOUSLY STATED AMOUNTS and that we didn't give them our new address which we did multiple times. Obviously whoever is in charge of processing customer insurance and then informing their clients of the proper bills and staying in contact with the customer is horribly failing at their job. Terrible experience, and still not happy with issues unresolved. If you think of going here, make sure that all basis of payment between your insurance and this joke of a dentistry is written and signed off on paper.

Family and Implant Dentistry is a wonderful place to have a positive dentist experience. The front office staff is so friendly the minute you walk in the door. The assistants and hygienists are also very friendly and talk over any issues you may be having at the time. Once the dentist comes in, they are super friendly, put your mind at ease and resolve any tooth issues with professionalism and kindness. Seeing a dentist isn’t always always how you want to spend the day, but FID takes all the uneasiness out of it and does the best work! I highly recommend them! :)

I have been going there for more than 5 years now and have never had a bad experience. all the dental hygienist are cute girls and the doctors are top notch. the facility is clean in the equipment is new, they take tri care and it's easy to get appointments even emergency appointments. if your new in town or just looking for a new dentist I highly recommend.

Slowly becoming very disillusioned with this office. At first glance they are very friendly and professional. However... A few weeks ago after having a few teeth extracted, I needed to pick up a different prescription that was waiting for me at the office. On a day their hours were posted as open until 6pm, I arrived at 5:40pm to find all the doors locked and phones off. I had to snag somebody coming out the side door at 5:45 to get my script from inside. This week, I had a tooth medicated earlier in the week, and today am dealing with intense pain in that tooth. I figured I'd call the office and see if I should be concerned. It is a Friday and they close at 4pm. As of 1:30pm, the phones to their office are shut off and an answering machine picks up stating they are closed. NOT Happy. Will most likely be on the hunt for a new dentist that can actually hold to their office hours.

I absolutely love this dental office! I walk into the practice and immediately feel like family when I am greeted by the front desk staff. I have dental anxiety and the staff always caters to any concerns. Also with being a military spouse, so we move quite a bit, and I can honestly say there isn’t any other dental office comparable to this one. The staff is always knowledgeable and very thorough with their decision for my dental care. When it comes time to move again I wish I could take Family and Implant Dentistry with me. This office runs like a fine oiled machine.

Extremely disappointed. I went there with a referral and all the X-rays from MATC because I had a cavity in one of my teeth. First, they said that they need to do a assessment and to do that they need to take their own X-rays. For that they charged $28. Then the doctor just had a few-second look at my tooth and gave me a quotation of $2555 for the full treatment. I am well aware that dental services are too expensive in US, so I do not have any issues with the amount they mentioned even though I can't afford that sum of money. The real problem was, they charged another 68 bucks just to tell me that. In short, I had to pay $96 out of my pocket (since I don't have any dental insurance) but did nothing to my tooth.

Excellent dental office! Having been a patient for 15 years, I have been seen by all 5 dentists and most of the hygienists. Most importantly is that the fun atmosphere and knowledgable and caring staff have succeeded in making my husband a regular patient. Friendliest staff out there. I have some concerns about the use of cone beam CT scans without explaining other options to patients. These low dose CT scans still have a radiation exposure that is greater than a regular xray.
