When I moved to Cedar Rapids two years ago I was overwhelmed with all the choices I could make regarding my dental health. I am from a small town so your options are very limited. I am so happy I stumbled upon The Dental Center. Their whole staff is amazing and very gentle and give you great advice. I am so glad I got Chris Haganman as my dentist. He has helped me SO much with my teeth. He is very generous and caring and a great doctor all around. He truly cares about you and your treatment! I could not recommend The Dental Center and their staff more! Thanks for everything!

I've been looking for a good dentist for a long time and finally found one! Today was my first experience at this office and they were awesome! The hygienist was really good about explaining everything to me. I'm the kind of person who likes to know what's going on and will ask a million questions so it was nice to have someone keeping me informed since I wasn't exactly in a position to ask away. Also, they were extremely thorough, they took lots of pictures, X-rays, and did a bunch of visual inspections that I'd never had anywhere before. These people are GREAT!!! =)

Dental Center, thank you so much what you did to my smile! I will never be able to thank you enough! I am so please with the results it’s hard to put into words. In elementary school I suffered trauma to my front tooth. They were able to save it and put me back together but after 2 root canals and 15 years later my tooth was slowly fading in color and my gums started retracting which made me look like I had a piece of pepper in my tooth at all times. I knew at some point I needed to do something. But I was extremely nervous about this change because I thought to myself—what if it turns out worse than I already have. With Dental Center’s patience they waited for me to be ready to take the plunge. I mentioned to them I will do it before I get married. Now that I am engaged I set up my appointment and got my teeth fixed, my only regret? NOT DOING IT SOONER! I am so pleased with the results. I find myself smiling more and feeling 100% more confident talking to strangers. A smile is a significant thing, it’s the first thing people notice about you. You can spread joy and happiness to anyone with a just a simple smile. I have been fortunate enough to travel to a few places in this world and it is incredible how a smile becomes a universal language. Now that I have gotten my teeth fix I am not bashful to show them off! Thank you Dental Center from the bottom of my heart! Dr. Chris and his assistant Kim are the most wonderful, caring, thoughtful people I know. I went to them with a serious emergency dental problem and had been refused help by my regular prosthodontist of 20 years. My regular prosthodontist told me I was foolish and that I would be throwing my money away to fix the problem. He instead insisted I get all my teeth pulled and get a denture for $5,500 for the top one alone. I explained that I couldn't afford it and was told to get a loan. I was treated like trash by the office assistant who had treated me poorly for 20 years. I did nothing to deserve the treatment I received and am very hurt that they could be this way after the thousands of dollars I paid them over the 20 year period. Dr. Chris and Kim were able to fix the problem - all the while treating me with dignity and respect. I am forever grateful.

All my visits to the Dental Center have been fantastic. All the staff there are incredibly friendly and more than happy to answer any questions as soon as you have them. Everything is explained completely so you never have to worry about not knowing what is happening to your own teeth. Despite it being a trip to the dentist, it is never a trip that I dread due to how well ran of a place it is and how nice all the staff is.

I was referred to the Dental Center for a root canal from people's clinic. I had previously seen 2 other dentists who recommended this procedure. This Dentist reviewed my xrays and told me yes you will need a root canal. I exercised my constitutional rights freedom of speech and the Dentist told me to walk out the door and never come back. I guess the Dentist was having a bad day. I'm not happy at all with how I was treated. I do believe it may have been an issue with my insurance because I was told by the Dentist there the only Dental office in Iowa that accepts Iowa Wellness for Root canals.

My experiance with Dr Haganman and his staff was about as good as you can get!!! i was told he was the best so i drove all the way from St Louis to find out that this was true. I was looking into getting my gap fixed in my front two teeth but i was so nervous that it would not look natural.Dr Haganman assured me i will be 100% pleased and i have to say i am a complely different person. I smile so much more now i love seeing my smile in pictures. Every time i look at my smile i thank Dr Haganman and i cant leave out his assistant Bobbie Huber,she was amazing as well she made sure i was 100% pain free and comfortable. She worked so hard to get me in and out quickly because she knew i had a long drive home. I would recomend these people for and of your dental needs. They truly care about you and not about how much money they can make off you. that is hard to come by these days. I have been a customer since they had a smaller office space a few blocks down the street. I was about 11. These guys are the best! From the office staff who are so, so kind and welcoming to the hygienists who are very thoughtful and gentle. I have been seen by all three Doctors at one point or another and I can say they are friendly, truly care about their patients and always leave me feeling confident about my health! Dr. Stovie changed my terrifying view of going to the dentist as a child into one of pure joy! (sounds crazy, I know!) I love the feeling of extra clean teeth, and he fixed my chipped tooth and gave me two fillings... I giggled and smiled the whole time! He also did my Orthodontic treatment twice (my fault for not keeping a retainer the first time) and was very helpful with any concerns along the way. He is great about helping you to forget any potential discomfort with his humor. Dr. Hingst did my wisdom teeth - That was the only time I ever saw her as a patient, and she was awesome. She made me feel completely comfortable and calm through the entire process even though I put it off for years before that because I was so nervous to have a surgery done! Many of my family members see Hingst and love her as a general dentist, too! Dr. Haganman became my dentist more recently as my insurance changed and it would have cost me twice as much per visit to see Stovie. I was initially extremely disappointed because Stovie changed my view about the dentist and I had seen him for about 15 years. As it turned out, Haganman is just as kind and knowledgeable! Basically, my point is - no matter which staff memeber you see at The Dental Center, you are in great hands! They are all top notch in my book and I'd trust any of them with my oral health any day!

I hadn't seen a dentist in 10+ years due to anxiety and previous bad experiences. After a tooth began giving me troubles, I knew I had to see a dentist. I picked The Dental Center solely on their Google feedback and I was not disappointed. My initial appointment was very smooth and both Kim and Dr Stovie were awesome. They listened to my concerns and what I wanted done and did everything they could to put me at ease. The procedure itself was completely pain free (even the numbing agent injections!) and completed in a timely manner. Despite the cavity be rather deep, I had no pain following the procedure and was able to eat and drink as I normally would. If you're an anxious person putting off seeing a dentist, the staff at The Dental Center do a wonderful job and will put you at ease (pro-tip: bring good head phones with which to listen to music to drown out the sound of the drill). My experience was painless and has greatly reduced my anxiety toward the dentist. Thanks Dr Stovie and staff!

Terrible bedside manner from (The Dental Center, 815 38th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403). Dental Assistants were rude. They would get angry when I tried to set up appointments at the office. I would have to call in to reschedule because assistant would argue and yell at me because I couldn't come in at certain times because I work. Also was tricked into getting a $80 bottle of mouthwash when you can buy the same kind at any store for $6. Would also get charged erroneously with fees that were unnecessary. Lastly was told repeatedly I needed a route canal and my tooth couldn't be fixed. Went to another dentist and got it fixed, repaired, and filled in. I also have a permanent hole to my jawbone and now require surgery to repair the damage because they didn't stitch me up properly. Really disappointed in the price I paid for work done when it was done sloppy and rushed. Never again. With another dentist that treats me like a human and not a paycheck. (((Update: Owner response is obvious vague denial claiming "My area of Wisconsin." Most 5 star reviews are from friends, family, or people that work there meant to boost reviews. I hope this negative review is a warning for anyone thinking about going here.)))

Everyone is up on the latest technology & since crowns and veneers are custom-made on site, it only took a couple days (not weeks like my last dentist)for my dental work to be completely finished. Because of the poor workmanship of my last dentist, I recently had to have a root canal & new crown. Even though the root canal was NOT an unpleasant experience, it could have been avoided had I come to the Dental Center first. It really does pay to have a good dentist. Went in with a chipped tooth for a bonding procedure, which is supposed to last 10-15 years depending on material quality, expertise of the dentist, and post procedure care. Not sure about the quality, but I am of the opinion that the dentist made a mistake in applying too much material, resulting in overhang between teeth numbers 7 and 8, making it nearly impossible to floss between. When I went in for a cleaning, I made mention of the obstruction to no avail. Then about two months ago, I was flossing between the aforementioned teeth when suddenly the bond material came loss and ended up on my tongue... two years is all that it lasted. I canceled my next scheduled appointment in favor of an alternative service provider.

Dr.Haganman is AMAZING!! I had veneers put on in Florida by a well known dentist that ended up looking horrible! Chris took off all of my old veneers and put a whole new set on making them completely flawless and custom to my smile. Not only was Dr. Haganman wonderful but his assistant Sarah took the time and effort to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted when making my veneers. Dr. Stovie provided my orthodontic care when I was a teenager, and even something as unpleasant as braces wasn't so terrible when I went for my appointments. My entire family also goes to The Dental Center, and we have never thought of going anywhere else. The doctors at The Dental Center provide good, quality dental care, and their hygienists are all friendly and professional as well! I have recommended The Dental Center to any friends who were looking for a dentist, and I would highly recommend them to anyone else who is searching!

I've lived in numerous states/cities and I've been to various dental offices during my 55 years; hands-down this is the best dental center that I've attended. Dr. Hanganman is excellent - a true artist at repairing teeth. He's also very personable - a genuine good person. The financial analysis is excellent and it simplified matters involving insurance. From the front desk to the dental assistants, the staff is great. I especially appreciate the excellent care provided to me by assistants Heidi and Sandy; they are very skillful and talented. They kept referring me out when I came in with the necessary papers and explained what I needed before being seated, the double referral landed me not being able to get covered what actually needed to be done. They were very helpful when I came in, but I explained to them what I needed, when I called asked if they did the oral surgery work I needed done, and explained that I was referred to an Endodontist before getting there. Then basically said there's nothing I could do because it was already charged to the insurance, accused me of not expecting to pay, when they should have told me they could not do the type of care that would have been covered by the endodontist. I made it very clear that I was willing to do a payment plan if the evaluation was what I needed, but that I did not want to be seen if it would not take care of what needed to be done. They went through with the assessment anyway so that they could bill the insurance for the visit, when I already had a referral in place. It was really simple, should not have been made this difficult. My financial situation does not merit their inconsiderate demeanor or inconsistencies, and I should be forced to explain that in order for it to be understood. Bringing up my inability to pay was not only unprofessional, but none of their business, especially considering it was due to something they charged; they left that out after I explained to them I had already had more than one evaluation, was there solely for the oral surgery aspect, could not be seen if they could not do it and that it would be charged again on the account, I literally had a full conversation about it with them before I even went back to the room. That was their reason, because they, "Got me into the chair," well yes, I would not have been in that chair if the files I gave them and the situation explained ahead of time would have been listened to, the original questions I asked when I called multiple times before I went in, and then before the doctor physically came into the room to see me. They should have notified me they couldn't do it when I asked that to be clarified when I called.

Very sad to say that after sincerely trusting CR Dental Center for 9 years, we have now decided that our family would no longer going to there for any dental care or work. More than 3 times throughout our 9 years we were told by the staffs that our annual ex rays would be covered by our insurance. But, a couple weeks later our family of four would have an out of pocket additional balances. Yes, I bought them up each time. Recently I had a crown put on an unfinished implant. The crown supposedly is made at the location with the state of the art technology; but, it does Not placed properly in my mouth. They never ask to see how satisfy the thousands of dollars job fit but instead I received, an extra, additional, already, out of pocket statement. The office manager and I have established a payment plan for the uncovered cost of an abutment and crown. In which I have been faithfully making payment each month since January 2018. .... No, no more of this sort of neglect; basically lies!

You have TLC the minute you walk in the door. My mom that has dementia had fallen and knocked her front teeth out. Dr Hageman was very compassionate with her. From the assistants to even John in the back making her teeth replacements it was the BEST experience ever. Her new teeth look just like her old teeth and you cant tell the difference! Love you guys. I had to first hand experience this amazing staff myself. Doctor Hageman even offered to stay late to get me out of pain! My hygienist was great for cleaning and then had a root canal done a different day. I have had many bad experiences with dental procedures and pain. Not with this amazing place. Didnt even feel the novacane shot. Usually you feel a pinch, not with these professionals. Their main concern is your comfort. All the way around this is the most comfortable relaxing experience I have ever had in 49 years.

I have "unfortunately" had many experiences with the Dental Center. I don't say unfortunately because of the service I received but because I have needed so many different things performed on my teeth. Dr. Smith is my dentist and I can not say enough positive things about him. He's always willing to discuss your problem and is always looking for the best, yet least expensive solution to your issue. I also have had experiences with both Dr. Olivier and Dr. Kelly on a more limited basis but again received excellent care. All the staff I have dealt with are also very professional and friendly. I have already referred several people to The Dental Center and would never have a problem recommending anyone to them. The tech was absolutely great, for the kindness they show and the well being of their patients seems to be most important to them. I will edit my post later, as I go thru this process, but I can say that I feel very lucky to have found their office. I would highly recommend. ETA-Dr Hingst has proven to be a very gentle and compassionate Dr. She did a procedure that could have very well been performed by an oral surgeon. I am quite sensitive to pain, yet I found myself amazed at how well it went. What would have usually been an agony for me was quite well received. Throughout the process they made sure my well being was paramount. I am now pretty much finished with this process, and once again, I give my highest regards to Dr Haganman. He went above and beyond to help me after I had a bad experience with my previous dentist. His congenial nature, and respectful attitude makes you feel as if you're not even at a dental office. He worked with me on finances, and even went so far as to deliver product to the lab in Ia City, on his own time, as the office closed early due to the holidays. You can tell by the way he treats patients and employees alike, that he sincerely enjoys his job. BTW, he has a good sense of humour, too. I now have a nice smile in time for the holiday. Dr. Haganman and his staff have been excellent to work with! From basic twice yearly cleaning and exams, to crowns and cosmetic dentistry, their work has been PERFECTION...and PAIN FREE!! Dr. Haganman is really great at identifying potential problems, discussing the solutions, and then executing really great dental work!! He and his assistants are very conscientious about making sure that the patient is comfortable and not experiencing any pain! I think having their own "in house" dental lab makes for quicker turn around for crowns and veneers...and they are made to Dr. Haganman's exacting standards. I can't recommend them highly enough! At one of my visits a gentleman in the waiting room struck up a conversation with me. He said he and his wife (who he said have implants from Dr. Haganman) travel 2 1/2 hours each way to come to Dr. Haganman at the Dental Center. They believe in him and his work that much!
