I have had horrible experiences with tooth work and I went in prepared for the worst thanks to videos of root canals online but honestly it was such a pleasant experience. The staff was so kind and he calmed me down about the whole thing then the only pain I felt was the shot; and the procedure only took about 30 minutes which was a very nice surprise.

After having been with dozens of people getting root canals all over Iowa, I will never take anyone anywhere else again! There are horror stories too numerous to mention other places. Dr. Peek is the consummate professional, skilled, reassuring and inspiring great confidence among patients. The patient with whom I came experienced no discomfort and had two root canals completed in just over an hour. The fact that this is the only endodontic practice in Iowa that treats patients on Medicaid shows that these dentists are ethical people, dedicated to serving those in need. I unreservedly recommend this practice.

He worked gently and was very particular about getting everything right and keeping everything clean. His assistant knew the procedure well and was always ready with all the correct tools. I left with absolutely no pain at all and the only pain I do have is just a little from where I got my shots. His assistant was just as awesome she was super polite and could tell she loved her job. AMAZING! I'd give more stars if I could! Dr. Derek Peek, would except my insurance when no other Endodontist would see me, I had to drive 2 hours to see him!!! Thank goodness he did, I had a slightly difficult case and had some discomfort. Dr. Peek took the time with me and now have no more related pain! He has a great personality to lighten the situation, and made me feel comfortable. All of the staff was wonderful! I had my evaluation done on 7-24-19. It was determined that my tooth had a large crack in it. I was not given a great prognosis, the tooth would probably need to be extracted. I was given an appointment for a root canal. I left that day with mixed feelings. I came back on 8-22-19 for a root canal and was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Derek Peek came in and asked in a very positive manner if I was ready to save my tooth. From that moment on, I was very relieved. The root canal was successful and with minimal pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Peek and Eastern Iowa Endodontics.

I have always heard horror stories about root canal surgery. I went into this very nervously. I was given options as to what I could do and given time to decide. I was shocked by the procedure and the outcome. The worst thing was one of the shots! The procedure was painless and after it was done any pain was easily removed with ibuprofen. I will be telling anyone I know to make the trip to Eastern Iowa Endodotics! Thanks so much Dr Peek and Tiffany!

I was experiencing excruciating pain last Thursday and was referred over by my dentist. Eastern Iowa Endodontics were able to get me in this past Monday and after the consult took place, Dr. Peek said I would need a root canal and could take care of right then and there! I was put at ease with my nerves and was informed of what was taking place throughout the entire procedure. Dr. Peek was personable and did the root canal as gentle as possible. Molly was the assistant and was an absolute gem! The office is beautiful and the office staff was very courteous when I got there, and when I checked out. I will recommend Eastern Iowa to anyone who is in need of a root canal. Awesome experience and happy to say I’ve had no pain since. Thanks Dr. Peek and staff!

I had a root canal performed at Eastern Iowa Endodontics Cedar Rapids Iowa. I will condense my experience. I had the procedure performed by Dr. Peek late afternoon Thursday, and the following day close to noon, the very little soreness was 100% gone. There was NO pain, or mess during the entire procedure. Absolutely no night pain. I used very little Tylenol and Motrin. I was amazed and very pleased due to previous experiences. All around the BEST... hands down.

Great place with nice people. Would be 5 but I wasn't happy that this place was the only one in Iowa that took my insurance and it was a 3 hour drive one way. Edit: okay I will do 5 because I do truly understand its not your fault. Thank you for helping me!

I did a little searching online, desperate to find someone who might be able to fit me in today and when I found Eastern Iowa Endodontics, they were able to fit me in just hours from when I called. Derek Peek and his assistant were unbelievably gentle and couldn't possibly have made me more comfortable, considering my irrational fear of the situation already. I would recommend Eastern Iowa Endodontics to absolutely anyone, I will undoubtedly, definitely be back!

Seriously the BEST dental experience I think I have ever had. I was in so much pain and my regular dentist had referred me-- the appt was scheduled for a month out. I called and asked if there were possibly any appts sooner-- the receptionist/staff was so friendly and said that they didnt have any appts but could put me on a waitlist. I called back later to see if there had been any cancellations and she said they could get me in the next morning! I went to the appt and the staff were caring and friendly. When I met Dr. Peek he was amazing and told me he would get my tooth feeling better. I HATE dental work...but the worst part was the shot in the roof of my mouth. He was gentle and everything was hi-tech and concerned about me. I at one point thought if my mouth wasnt open I could almost fall asleep. His assistant was the best-- knew exactly what she was doing and was truly wonderful as well. Even got to leave with a pair of sunglasses and chapstick. ;) I will never go anywhere else for a root canal treatment! ** Unfortunately I found myself needing another root canal on another tooth only a few months apart! Ugh!! BUT fortunately I was able to schedule an appt with Dr. Derek Peek and have it taken care of...this time a molar. Dr. Peek is truly so great. Told me everything and that this tooth would be a little more involved as it was a molar. Again...the worst part of this experience was the shot in the roof of my mouth and even that wasn't horrible. Dr. Peek is truly amazing and kind. His assistant knows exactly what and when he is doing at all times. I was comfortable and relaxed. I can not say enough good things about both of my trips here. Beautiful office... professional and friendly staff, and truly skilled Dr. I walked out of there barely feeling I had anything done...including novocaine. Hoping I never need another one...but if I do...I will never go anywhere but here for a root canal treatment!! Thank you again soo much!!!

If you can judge a book by it’s cover you will love Dr Peek & his staff. Had two root canals done here and all seemed well. However, after the procedures something was wrong & the pain was so intense that it caused an absence from work & an appointment to a local dentist with no resolve. When we tried to get back in to see Dr. Peek we were treated very rudely with a “well what do you expect us to do attitude”. Dr Peek took two opportunities to tell us the procedure he did was “text book” & “beautiful” even though something was obviously wrong. We had to go see someone else to finally resolve the pain and we received more attention from Eastern Iowa Endodontics after leaving an accurate & honest review than while he patient was missing work due to his “text book” procedure. Very disappointed in lack of care & commitment after the fact.

I am extremely particular about who I go to for dental work. Dr. Derek Peek has worked on my teeth in the past and has done a fantastic job. The last time I needed a tooth repaired, I am very thankful that I went back to Dr. Peek for a second opinion. He was able to save the tooth that another endodontist said was only treatable by being extracted. Dr. Peek listened to my concerns, came up with a treatment plan, and thoroughly explained the treatment. I highly recommend Eastern Iowa Endodontics for their professionalism all around.

I was extremely uneasy about going to get a root canal and actually waited until my tooth broke before I went in. This couldn't have been a less painful experience. The support staff was fantastic and very helpful. Dr. Peek was one of the most personable and down to earth doctors I've ever met. Dr peek and his assistant explained every little step of the process to alleviate any concerns I had. I had less pain during this process than most other general check ups at a regular dentist. I returned to work right after my procedure. If I ever have to have another root canal I would immediately contact Dr. Peek and gladly give him my business.

Being the only one of two Endodontist that take my insurance in Iowa and the only one that wasn't booked for a month had me a little on edge. Being as it may I am on edge every time i need to go in for more then a cleaning. I had a two year old root canal that was bothering me and when i got to the office. the reception was outstanding. super clean carpeted lobby. the rest of the facility's where just as nice. Didn't feel even the tiniest twinge when getting the Novocaine for a root canal on a hidden root and they re did the one next to it for good measure. Didn't feel like I was there as long as i was maybe felt like a half hour not an hour and time updates the hole way through. super excellent wish i had more stars to give.

I never had a root canal done before and even though I have three kids I was terrified , but let me tell you this from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out I was treated nicely and respectfully they felt like family and friends to me and Dr. Peek was the best I did not fell any pain or discomfort at all and he did two of them at the same time I wish there was more than 5 stars to give them I would definitely recommend them and go back to them for another root canal that I need so see you.

My experience was amazing. I took my twelve year old there for a root canal and as I was waiting in the waiting area the put the tv on "finding memo" for my 2&3 year old thank god lol they were really quick my daughter said they where nice to her so overall we love this place and the staff.
