I was in for a general cleaning and BFD did an exceptional job. My teeth are bright and totally cleaned with no pain. What more could you ask for in a dentist?

The front office staff here is absolutely terrible!! I called to schedule an appointment for my semi-annual cleaning..the next day I received 3 phone calls & 2 voicemails requesting a call back from me, regarding my scheduled appointment. When I called back, the girl (Dee) told me that they were simply calling to say that they can't wait to see me. What?!?! I told her that this made no sense, to call multiple times and leave voicemails without actually wanting anything. I then asked her if all of my information was correct because I suspected something was wrong. As I suspected, she had me listed under the wrong last name, had the wrong insurance information on my account, and had my father listed as my husband. I gave her the correct information and we ended the call. I should've ran then! On the actual day of my appointment I received another phone call from Liz at 10:00am and she told me to give her a call back ASAP regarding my appointment, which was scheduled for 11:00am. I called the office back and was placed on hold for 15minutes...I hung up. When I arrived at the office, Liz proceeded to explain to me that they still had the incorrect information and she wanted me to give her my Dad's social security number again. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I canceled my appointment and left. It is extremely concerning that they are so unorganized, especially since they are handling people's personal and confidential information. If I could advise you of anything, it would be to take your business elsewhere because these people are clearly incompetent. It really sucks because the actual dentists may be very qualified and highly skilled; however, most people never make it that far because they get stuck dealing with the careless front desk. As an African-American woman I was truly looking forward to patronizing this establishment...but their sloppy approach to handling business simply will not work for me.

I have high anxieties about going to the dentist, but Trina always seems to relax me. She has a great, bubbly, warm personality. And, she does a fantastic job cleaning my teeth.

The care and service i received from Dr Paige and The Buckhead Family Dentistry Family was terrific. My husband and I both had dental work done to our satisfaction. BS

This place was amazing. I came here because I was ashamed of neglecting my teeth for so long and I wanted to start smiling again. They treated me like a great friend the moment I stepped in. Everyone was nice and Dr. Paige was phenomenal. He did a cleaning and whitening, making a beautiful transformation of my smile. I no longer feel embarrassed with my smile and I have Dr. Paige and his wonderful team to thank for that!

Beautiful and clean office, fantastic staff, and friendly and knowledgeable dentist! Dr. Paige answered all my questions and was very gentle. I am so glad I found this dentist office!

Doctor Paige is phenomenal! I was on vacation in Atlanta and chipped my tooth playing ball. No way was I gonna walk around like that for 2 days. I called multiple offices around me and everyone was saying they are backed up for months. So when I called buckhead they said no problem, I came in for a late appointment and later I found out doctor stayed extra long to take care of me. Now that's some outstanding service I must say!

Tracey Finney

The office atmosphere is very friendly, the service impeccable and the staff outstanding.

This complaint is regarding Buckhead Family Dentistry located on 3379 Peachtree Rd NE #850, Atlanta, GA 30326. I was contacted by Tara from the practice on Monday 8/19/13 saying that there were two bills past due from Dec ’12 and Jan ‘13. I was told the total amount was almost $350; this seemed high considering I had already settled the charges for the procedures at check-out. After I indicated that the amount seemed too high I was told that my insurance had paid for silver fillings instead of the tooth colored ones that I had been pre-authorized for. This was communicated to me multiple times throughout the conversation. I was driving back from a road trip and requested to review the paperwork and settle the matter in person by the following week. I was then threatened that the outstanding bill would go to collections by Friday 8/23/13. Apparently the office had sent bills to my new home address multiple times, none of which I have ever received. I have never had a problem with receiving any other bills and/or mail at the address. Issue #1: Why did the dental office staff wait to call me on my cell phone on Monday to talk about bills which was due to go into collections on Friday of that week? Why was there no phone call before this if the bills were outstanding since January? Further, if they had waited this long, why could they not extend the payment date for another week? With no option, I paid the bills as I work full time and had no way of getting down to Buckhead to settle this in person during the w/o 8/19. Issue #2: I was also being charged $75 for a visit to deal with the excruciating pain after my fillings were done because the doctor did not finish the procedure properly the first time (improper cleaning, irrigation post filling). I have had fillings done before and have never had that kind of pain in the area for two weeks after the procedure, whereby I could not even chew soft foods on that side. This amount should have never been charged. After paying my bills, I called my insurance company to find out why they had not paid for white fillings. The representative at the insurance company said that they had paid for tooth colored fillings not white fillings and the rest of the payment was not sent to the practice since they had never responded to the insurance company’s request for additional paperwork regarding three of the procedures. I called the practice back and this time Tara said that she had told me that the insurance company had paid for the tooth colored fillings and that the majority of the outstanding bill was for a mouth guard I had had made (new fact emerges). This was one of the procedures that the insurance company had asked for additional paperwork about. When I told her about the need for additional paperwork and gave her the fax number for the insurance company and asked her to take care of this on Monday, she informed me that this does not “happen overnight” since the doctor had to write the narratives. So Buckhead Family Dentistry is happy to charge customers upfront for charges incurred because Buckhead Family Dentistry staff didn’t provide the insurance company with appropriate paperwork, but don’t have any sense of urgency when it comes to doing their own jobs right. This is a practice that does not care for its customers: - I was charged after being given completely inaccurate information. - The staff demonstrated gross negligence in doing their part in completing routine paperwork and then threatening me with collections to get payment.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Horrible/rude office staff!!!! Dr Paige was nice but 'accidentally' brushed his hand against my breasts three times!!!

The office staff was not great. They were very condescending and shamed me for not having dental insurance. The dental hygienist was great. 50 dollar charge for a missed appointment when I wasn't planning on coming back after the first time. I actually had requested them to send my dental xrays to a different place which was never done.

Good Dental Staff, Very Bad Office Staff! My experience started off very well at Buckhead Family Dentistry. Dr. Paige was very thorough and the dental assistants were always very helpful. Jackie (who is no longer there) was one of the best dental assistants I’ve ever met. I can’t say the same about the front office staff. I’ve never had so many problems and issues with trying to get basic information from a dental office. And when I questioned them or asked for better service I was met with defensive postures and resistive attitudes. My adventure starts with my visit to have a crown replaced. I was told by Jackie (dental assistant at the time) that I could have the crown sized in the morning and come back in the afternoon (I travel frequently so I had a tight window to get the crown replaced). After the morning session, I called to find out what time I could come back in. The office assistant, Liz, told me that I could only come back tomorrow. I told her that Jackie had told me I could come back in the afternoon due to my time constraints. After placing me on hold and shuffling my schedule, I told Liz that I could come back tomorrow. She said she would put me on the schedule if I “apologized for yelling at her.” I had done no such thing but I guess she got defensive because I demanded to come back in the same day as Jackie had told me I could. Wow. My negative second encounter occurred when I called one day to obtain the name and phone number of an endodontist that I had previously visited and to whom I had been referred by Dr. Paige’s office. The office assistant sounded a bit unsure of the information she was giving me. I wanted to make sure that she was giving me the correct name and number. When I questioned her further, one of the other ladies from the office staff got on the line and stated, “we’ve had problems with you before.” Why? Because I’ve asked you on 2 occasions for proper information and service. I’m some kind of troublemaker because I want correct information? Then recently, I called to obtain my dental co-pays because I had a tax appointment scheduled to complete my 2016 tax return. I was told by the office staff that they would email them to me. The next day, after not receiving the information, I called to follow up. After being put on hold for nearly 5 minutes, Liz asked me if I could pick it up tomorrow at my appointment. But I needed them before that and had called the previous day! Why can’t you just fulfill my request? I became angry and I used a profane word, which was wrong (and I apologized). But I was frustrated by this pattern of bad service by Liz and this office staff. After this incident, I received a letter of dismissal from Dr. Paige. That’s fine. I do not feel comfortable visiting his office with that office staff. When I called to express my thoughts to Dr. Paige three times, he never had the decency to return my calls. This may be the most surprising of all the slights I received from this office.

It's disappointing to see that many others (here and Yelp) have had similar experiences as me. The staff as far as their personality was fine (probably for their salesmen tactics), but I really wish I'd gotten a second opinion before I paid nearly $1000 out of pocket for their deep cleanings and whatever else. It started last summer with me going in for a routine cleaning (I'd previously gone to a different dentist in Alpharetta but switched locations because this was more convenient to my job). During that consultation, it was highly implied that I had gum disease (which later changed in subsequent appointments to just being "at risk" for gum disease), among other things, so I should strongly consider the deep cleaning treatment. My experiences were downright manipulative and exploitative. I finally said enough is enough back in April 2018 when I discovered that I'd been overcharged (well I had a $30 credit). Overall, I'm sure what they do is "legal" but it just doesn't seem very ethical to me.

Best teeth and gum cleaning I've ever had. The dental assistant explained all the procedures really well and I've never been more satisfied!!

Excellent service. Both dentists were excellent. Dr. Itarut is kind, thorough considerate. Dr. Harvey is gentle, kind and compassionate and I think he must be exceptionally good because he did not leave me suffering. Cass made me feel as though my best friend was beside me. I have had my best ever dentist for 30 years. I lost him when I came to Atlanta. He has also grown old with me and is retiring. It is difficult to change dentists. It is difficult to trust. I have never had an extraction and I have an emotional attachment to my teeth. I chose your office because I like the name Thaddeus and admire Thaddeus Stevens from long ago. It is an unlikely way to choose a dentist office, but in this case it worked out perfect. I felt cared for. The only negative thing is the parking, which isn't anything anyone can do anything about. It is expensive! I am not used to paying parking while at the dentist. But as far as the office, the people who waited on me and worked on me, I find superior. Thank You! Beverly Nero

Came back from Atlanta not too long ago. Had an dental emergency and found Dr. Travis. He was very professional and caring. Didn't plan on seeing a dentist during my trip but I'm glad Dr. Paige was able to get me in and out of his office.

Great dentists and staff. I only visited one time to have my teeth cleaned and every one was super nice. I also scheduled an appointment for 6 months later and completely forgot all about it when I moved to Florida. I received a call on the day of my appointment (in which they did call a week before but I forgot to check the vm) and was told I would have to pay a $50 cancellation fee. But these people are awesome and are very understanding and waived the fee due to my situation. If any of my friends ask where to go, I will definitely refer them Buckhead Family Dentistry. Hands down best customer service I've experienced in awhile. Thanks for being awesome!!

Not a good dental experience at all! I have been dealing with issues from Dr. Paige and his staff since August of 2012, I am writing this review in February of 2013. I went to Buckhead Family Dentistry in May of 2012 because I was looking for a good dentist that was close to my job. I work in the office building right next door to his location, so it was perfect. I went in May for a normal check up/ cleaning and I really enjoyed the entire staff and Dr. Paige himself. I told them at the time I was interested in pursuing Invisalign, but unsure of timing. In August of 2012, I decided to take the plunge and went in for a *consultation* for invisalign. they told me I was a great candiate for it, and told me the cost. Roughly $5,000 (which was expected). My insurance covered $1,500 of it, and they told me the remaining $3,500 was to be paid by me before the trays arrive. In this same appointment, they started to take impressions of my teeth. I was somewhat unsure of why they were taking impressions on my consultation, but I assumed it was part of the making sure invislaign was a right choice for me. They clean me up after the trays, and I walk out to the lobby to go over the cost (forgot to mention, they did not tell me the cost in the chair etc). To my surprise, they had already put in a claim with my insurance and asked me for $1,800 right then and there to pay for half of the cost of the invisalign. I was slightly taken back. I came in for a consult and and was being charged $1,800. I thought..well, I might as well pay now so that I can get the whole process moving. The office told me it would take at max 6 weeks for my trays to come in, at which time I would have to pay the remaining balance (ex. what I paid and what my insurance paid) when I come in. 6 weeks comes and go. I call into the office. No one knows what happened with my trays or why they were taking so long. I called on a thursday, a friday, and again on monday before I pretty much started to curse them out on the phone. The office manger told me my impressions had broke, and I needed to come in to take another set and it would be rushed and I would have my trays in 2-3 weeks after I come in. I think I called on Monday and was in the office by wednesday going thru my 2nd set of impressions.3 weeks past. then 4. then 5. then 6. By this time I am irate. I call back in demanding that my trays be looked into. After 4 days of going back in forth with the office manger. They tell me they will not be able to provide invisalign service and will be refunding my money. I go in that day and they refund the money to my credit card. I asked for a copy of the paper they were going to send to my insurance company so that they could get paid back too. They didnt have it. Told me it would take 4-6 weeks for my insurance company to be paid back. By the time they refunded my money it was November. A full 3 months after my first impressions. Long story short: I am still battling with them over $160 they have not refunded back to my insurance company. Luckily, they did give me back my money, but i did not enjoy loaning their business $1,800 for 3 months for absolutely no service in return. Initially in May, i had recommended a bunch of my co-workers to go there. Obviously now my views have changed. I recommend that yes, Dr. Paige is a great dentist, but going there for any other service is not recommended. Be a young professional black male, I wanted to give my business to other black businesses, but his entire staff and Dr. Paige proved to not know how to run a business or treat customers. I have told my entire office to never go to him, and I will continually spread the word online that they need to step their game up and not promise services that they are unable to deliver on.
