Had excellent experience at Dentistry for Children today. My son had to get a tooth pulled prior to getting his braces. My son had some anxiety about getting tooth pulled. Anna was super friendly at the front desk, Bailey was patient and comforting and my son said Dr. Eliot was great. In and out. Good idea to keep Dad in the waiting room. Thank you.

I took my grandson to a 9:20 appointment and 10:30 rolled around as we were still waiting in the back room for a dentist in which wr never were seen. Then they have the nerve to tell me they cannot give him an excuse because the dentist didn't see him before we decided to just leave. Random bs at this place.

1st visit found Dr. Coulter to be very cold towards my child. 2nd visit was to get fillings and he was a tad bit nicer. I had to pay up front over $400 due to what they expected my insurance to pay. EOB stated that insurance paid 250 and I was responsible for the remainder, so I had a credit. This was in August 2011. I called in June of 2012 to get the credit sent back to me and found the claim for her 1st check up in Sept 2011 had not been paid due to their lack of putting tax id. So it had to be resubmitted before I could receive my credit. Called back and was told I had a credit of $44 and that the claim still had not been paid. After they "researched" I was then told that I actually OWED THEM A WHOPPING $1. They participate in the PDP and first billed 3 items that were not covered by insurance the PDP fee, but then decided that since they owed me money back that they would then charge me the actual fee. Yeah I won't be using this dentist again and would not recomend them to anybody else

Ava Burrus

Very friendly staff! Very friendly and cool environment! My 7 year old had fun going to the dentist so would definitely recommend!

Inviting clean facility. Did not meet the dentist (teenage child) but the dental assistants were friendly and easy to communicate with.

This place is horrible. My 10 year old daughter went here 2 times and at her 2nd appointment I scheduled an appointment for my 3 year old sons first dentist appointment.... the morning of his appointment, I noticed my son's ear was bleeding. I called his ENT and they advised I bring him in immediately. While I was there I noticed I wouldn't get out in time to be at the dentist for him, so I called to explain the situation and move it later that day or the next available time. The lady at the front desk was EXTREMELY rude and needs to be retrained. She explained to me since it was his first time, he needed to be there now or they could never see him again. She was completely unprofessional and very disrespectful. My mother was in dental management field most of my childhood and I went with her to work ... not once I have experienced this situation. If you can't understand my child's ear is bleeding and work with us in an emergency then I don't want to gove this practice my money. After my experience, I have heard horrible things about this place and it needs to be shut down. I will be calling who I need to be heard.

Our family absolutely loves Dentistry for Children. The workers are kind, patient, and very attentive. My children were scared to go but ended up having fun. The workers eased their fears by going over each step and what to expect before they did it. Great job!

Wonderful staff! We arrived for my 7 yr old's appointment and they got him back and taken care of very quickly. Since it was the first time getting his teeth cleaned he was really nervous. The dental hygienist who cleaned his teeth was very good with him. She took the time to show him all the tools she was going to use and explained what they all did. It made him feel much more comfortable. She was amazing! Great place and great people. Highly recommend.

Overall Im happy with them, but today I feel kind of disrespected. My son is kind of stressed about dentists so he likes for me to stay with him. I asked which chair i could use and was told they don't provide chairs for parents, if i wanted to sit i had to go back out front. Rude enough(especially with my issues with a bad leg) so i put my bag on a chair in order to put a water bottle away, as soon as my bag touched the chair the lady said "We will be using BOTH chairs" like i didn't understand the first time she told me not to use the chair. That was just the first issue, but it is definately the one that changes my rating.

This is not specifically for the Dawsonville location but for the company in general. I called to make an appointment for my son as a new patient. They said they would not file with my insurance company because I would not provide my social security number. With the high risk of Identity Theft and Clark Howard's advice, I never provide my social security number to a medical office. All they need is your insurance ID number to file. I will not be using a company who's business practices do not value their clients personal information.

My children have gone to this dentist for about 2 years and we have had awful experiences with them every time. The staff and dentist are all very rude! This is suppose to be a pediatric dentist yet they all seem cold towards the children. My children were very easy to deal with so they didn't give them a reason to be rude. On two occasions I have been treatly horribly by the staff over the phone when calling to get my records sent to a new dentist and once when I missed an appointment they called harassing me telling me I would have to pay $35 for the missed appointment that I cancell well in advance! This location also had a dentist leave recently to start his own practice which tells me he probably had problems with them too! Very dissatisfied with the staff and dentist.

***Update manager called to apologize and rescheduled new appointment with a different dentist. Day of appointment, kids missed school and they call immediately before the appointment and say they are refusing to see my children.**** Dentist decided to bring the tools into my daughters face without explaining anything. My daughter repeatedly yelled “don’t touch me” and the dentist continued to attempt to touch and grab her. The dentist then rudely yelled “we can’t deal with this she will need to be sedated.” She continued to be rude after I reminded her that anyone would be scared if you came at them without explaining anything first.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I took my 2 year-old daughter in because we had concerns that her teeth are weak and have discoloration. The front office staff was pretty nice, but once we saw the dentist, it was all downhill from there. He did a lap exam where my child's head was on my lap and he looked in her mouth for maybe 2 minutes while she was screaming her head off (AND WITHOUT DOING ANY X-RAYS) and said Wow, this is the worst I've ever seen. She has a cavity in every tooth and they will ALL need to be extracted. He looked at me and said, "The only way this could have happened is not brushing her teeth at all. You need to make sure she doesn't have ANY juice, candy or anything. She needs nothing but water and you need to make sure she actually brushes her teeth because it's very clear to me that she does not." EXCUSE ME? This is super embarrassing, but I was bawling my eyes out when I grabbed my child and walked the hell out of that place!!!! They should either not be in business, or they need to not be a PEDIATRIC dentist! This was absolutely unacceptable to me. We now see a REAL PEDIATRIC dentist at Children & Teen Dental in Cumming. It's a bit of a drive for me in Dahlonega but well worth it. They are way more friendly and welcoming, and they treated me with kindness and respect while delivering the facts about my daughter's teeth. I am so happy I left this place behind!!! I work in Customer service too so I never want to slam a business, but my hope in leaving this review is to make sure no other parent or mother feels as scrutinized as I did that day.

This was our 3rd time at dentistry for children in Dawsonville, Ga. It was the first day of school for us and we had a brand new kindergartener starting. Our appt was at 3:30 and with the traffic, we got there about 3:38. They said it was fine and took us back. He needed bitewing x-rays this time and with new insurance, we had to pay for them. I don’t even recall the hygienist or Dr. looking at them. I feel the hygienist just polished his teeth and didn’t really spend time making sure she got any plaque off. My son was sitting right back up before I knew it. We were out of there before 4pm. I understand we were the last appt of the day and 8 minutes late but when I make an effort to get my child to his appt and pay part of what insurance doesn’t cover, I expect a thorough exam. I just wasn’t as pleased this time as I have been before. They were more worried about getting home on time than making sure patient satisfaction made and their patient had a clean bill of health. Also, they didn’t even ask me what day or time would be best for us for the next appt. They just asked “can you come in before school next time at 7:30?” Which really doesn’t work best either since school drop off is 7:50-8:10 and pickup is 3:05. Just wasn’t pleased at this appt.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Nurses and front staff were great, but unfortunately Dr. Shaun Elliot is a jerk and should not be with young children!! This is my 3rd visit and we are done here. I have been once with my 4 year old, and recently took my 20 month old for a second visit over her chipped tooth and left in tears as did she. He was COLD, NOT friendly, NEVER tried to make my daughter feel comfortable or tell her “good job” ect, basically called me an idiot for using a certain tooth paste and not properly describing her tooth correctly. I said “front tooth” instead of “incisors” and he looked at me like I had 10 heads. He was extremely rude and I’m shocked he is a PEDIATRIC DENTIST!!! Working with children your job is to make sure they feel comfortable, walk in the room and acknowledge them whether they are 20 months old or 10 years old, etc. You could not pay me to step foot back in that practice! Do NOT recommend.

Worst dental experience ever! I took my seven year old son there, in pain, to have his crowns looked at. He grinds his teeth badly and grinded right through them. Instead of helping him they cleaned his teeth since he was due and attempted to reschedule him for over a month from the visit to address his pain. He can not eat anything but mashed potatoes and cries on and off all day. Hopefully the NEW dentist we will be seeing tomorrow will help my boy. I am livid! I will not be bringing any of my children back to Dentistry for Children. - This particular incident was at the Dawsonville location.

I am very impressed with this dentist office. The staff members of this office were kind and extremely patient with my terrified 4yr old son. While I did my best to prepare for the dentist he was still scared, but the environment of this office helped immensely. The office walls are painted with fairytale characters and have video games in the waiting room. Also, the are mounted everywhere that play kids movies throughout the office. The most important factor is that they allow the parent to accompany the child throughout the appointment. I have a very inquisitive child, so troughout the appointment the dental assistants explained everything about the dental equipment to him. He did cry and get scared during the cleaning, but the dental assistant was completely professional and patient with my son. The dentist himself was the best part as he has a good demeanor with children. My son exclaimed that he liked him better than the dental assistants, but it's probably because the actual dentist didn't clean his teeth ;). I will definitely be using this dentist for a while.

I really like this clinic! Everyone’s really professional and competent, but what makes them stand out is how friendly they are and how great they are with the kids. The facility is awesome, too. We also rarely have to wait to be seen - my son complains that he doesn’t have enough time to play all the arcade games and tablet games they have set up in the waiting area! I practically have to drag him out of the clinic, hahaha. I also feel like they’re trustworthy. They don’t seem intent on recommending services you don’t need just to make a buck, and they work well with our insurance company. Definitely recommend.

I have had nothing but good interactions at this pediatric dentistry office. Whether in dealing with Anna at the front desk (so pleasant, helpful, and personable) or any of the hygienists (always full of information, helpful, and smiling) or the dentists (Dr Elliott or Dr Park). They have worked in procedures for our son for same day 2 times now and never make you feel like a burden. They really pay attention to my son as to whether he can feel anything or is nervous and they work at his pace. This place makes me feel more comfortable myself with getting to my own dentist. Lol!

The Dentist and staff are horrible and DO not need to be in the Pediatric Dentist. They way the doctor spoke to my child is unexceptable. He did not ensure my child's mouth was numb prior to removing the tooth. He just place the clamp in her mouht and while my child can not speak to say it hurts she starts crying. I stoped him and he got ugly and stated she needs to be put to sleep. This is not the case! I immediatley left their office and took her to my dentist Parrish and Childs in Gainesville (love love love them) and they were patient with her and did not use the awful Clamp and got the tooth out with any pain and crying. Based on all of the reviews this place needs to be shut down ! I am not even sure how they got a 2.9 rating.

Stacy Russell

All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Immediately, you are greeted by a smiling and friendly check in person. I’m pretty sure her name is Anna. The children get to play games, read a book, or watch a movie while they wait. Soon, another friendly staff member calls your child’s name and parents are always welcomed to go back with their child. I really appreciate this, because it alleviates both my child’s fears and mine. The dentist is very good with children and so are the dental assistants. During teeth cleaning, having a cavity filled, or a tooth pulled, your child gets to wear cool glasses and lay back and enjoy the movie that was playing in the waiting area. Before leaving children get to pick a prize to bring home,(their favorite part) and if they where their free t-shirt they are given on their first visit, they get to pick out two prizes. Yeah!

GREAT with children- especially for their 1st Dentist visit! All the staff are wonderful and very caring.

Lol!

Crappy! I hate this place everytime we come its always something new they have come up with! And some of their asstiants are so ryde and hateful and dont understand whats its like to deal with an autistic child! Officially looking for another dentist for my kids! Im tired of giving this place second chances!

Yeah!
