I would warn many to watch out for this dental clinic. They are supposed to be helping those less fortunate, and seem to have a monetary motive in mind. I went to have an emergency tooth extraction and they advised that I should have a root canal to save a cracked tooth. My regular dentist (who I could not afford to go to because I am unemployed and have no insurance) advised that the tooth was unsavable and should be extracted. I told Dr. Carter, the only dentist at Pierre Toussaint, that I was in agonizing pain and had an infection. He basically prescribed Tramadol, which didn't do much for the pain and an antibiotic. I paid over $100 for those medications out of pocket. Then, he said he could do a root canal about a month out. This Dentist was going to let me deal with an infected tooth for 30+ days. I ended up wasting $50 for this visit. And when I called them for the x-rays to go to another dentist, they wouldn't provide them, saying they had to make copies. This was a waste of time and money. I ended up seeing a top maxio facial surgeon in Delaware who concurred with my primary dentist that the tooth should be extracted along with another tooth that was decayed and causing the damage. I later talked to my primary dentist who said I made the right decision and couldn't figure out why Dr. Carter would recommend a root canal when the tooth had such a deep crack in it and wouldn't have enough tooth to fit a crown around it. He assured that I made the right decision in getting it extracted due to the circumstances. I will never go to Pierre Toussaint again. You get what you pay for -- and need to keep that in mind.
