They've been my dentists for fifteen years. Drs. Swintowsky and Peters are very kind about making dental procedures easier on people terrified of dentists. Lisa is the best and gentlest at teeth cleaning. I've had cosmetic stuff done by Dr. Bowers -- she has a very good eye and was good, I thought, to suggest a less expensive fix to try first before the expensive stuff. Her "temporary" fix has lasted about eight years so far.

My family and I have been going to FDC for over 15yrs and we are very happy with them. We've had everything from cleanings to root canals done by them and they have consistently provided professional and friendly service.

My wisdom teeth decided to come in a decade late, so I scheduled an appointment with them. They took some X-rays and then informed me that they wouldn't be able to schedule me for surgery for two months, and referred me to Mortenson Family Dental. They also informed me that the dentist they referred me to would likely have to take their own X-rays, as the quality of the printouts they send to the referred dentist pale in comparison to the digital versions they have in their system. They could have checked their own oral surgeons availability before taking the unnecessary X-rays, but I guess they wanted to milk me as much as possible before passing me on to be milked by someone else. I waited for a week for Mortenson to return my call. They never did. When I finally called them again, they stated that they were closed due to the recent snow (but that doesn't explain why they didn't call me back when the office re-opened). Mortenson also informed me that they don't take my insurance. Now my teeth are starting to hurt, and I'm calling my crummy insurance provider to change my primary care provider and trying to find someone who will take my crummy insurance, and who can get me into surgery before I'm in so much pain I can't think straight. It's odd - this dentist was great for my wife, but they have utterly failed me, referred me to another dentist that utterly failed me, and now I'm desperately trying to find a dentist to perform emergency surgery that I can't afford without the insurance that I have, that apparently nobody takes.

Hadn't been to a dentist in years. My dentist retired so went looking for a new one when a toothache occurred. Family Dental Center was recommended to me. Dr. LeAnn was great along with her assistances. Just found out she is leaving for Brookings. Just my luck. I wish her the best and look forward to meeting Dr. Schulte or Dr Zink at my next visit. UPDATE: Been back three times since and have met Dr. Zink. She has been great along with her assistants. A great bunch of people here and glad I came to them for my dental needs.

Very personable staff, everyone I met and interacted with was great. This was my 1st visit here and I will become a regular patient. Nice clean office in great condition with good technology. I'd consider this a step up from my previous (out-of-state) dental office. One big plus, they did their job and didn't waste my time trying to pressure me into buying unneeded services & equipment.

From the first time I met Dr. Peters, at his dental implant seminar, I could see his passion for implant dentistry. I'd started the process through another local office, but switched to Family Dental because I could see their commitment to excellence. I have been to the office at least 5 times now, during the implant process and for cleanings, and have been thoroughly impressed by Dr. Peters and every staff member I have encountered. I couldn't expect better care or treatment anywhere! So glad I found Family Dental Center!

I miss Dr. Bowers. She was caring and helpful. Not getting that at this place anymore. All I get is misinformation and poor work on my teeth. I tried to like it after she left because I hate the hassle of switching things up but now it’s time to switch dentists!

The staff at Family Dental Center are beyond amazing. The ladies at the front desk are always so courteous and kind. They never seem to rush anyone in or out of the office. Because of my fear of dentists, I had not seen one in many years. I first made contact with Dr. Ashley King-Tinsley when I needed some work done. She was very patient and understanding with my fear. She explained everything that was going to be done and made sure I was comfortable before, during and after the procedure. I recently had an extraction done by Dr. Heckman. Upon my arrival, I met with hygienist, Tristan. She was such a sweet young lady. She understood all of my concerns and answered any and all questions that I had. She didn't make me feel badly because of my fear of dentists. While I waited for Dr. Heckman, Dr Peters came in and checked to see if I needed anything. It is very rare that the owner of a practice checks on someone that is not their patient. I had some questions that I forgotten to ask and he patiently went through everything with me. Dr. Heckman performed my procedure. I barely felt a thing even though he was working in the back part of my mouth and a tricky area. He checked on my through the entire procedure and made sure I was comfortable. There are many dentists today, that seem to get in a hurry and just care about getting people in and out of the chair as quickly as they can. This really is not the case at the Family Dental Center. I have never heard a bad thing about any staff member or doctor there. They go above and beyond the call of duty and make you feel like you have their undivided attention. I will definitely go back for all of my dental needs.

I went in for a simple cavity filling and I am a very anxious person. I have had a very bad experience with the numbing needle before with a previous dentist and I made them fully aware of this. I let them know multiple time i was not ready for the injection so they told me that they would let me know everything step by step. With out telling me and as I’m trying to set back up because once again I was saying I am not ready. They try to do it anyway. I am very angry that they did that and they have no professional out look on patient Who is nervous. I recommend going somewhere else due to there lack of sympathy and cooperation With the patient.

Their office manager acquired pre-authorization from insurance. Went for services on separate days paying up front almost $1000. 3 weeks later their estimation was way off to the tune of $700. Had they been upfront about costs services would not have done been done. Beware this office. They love to scam! DO NOT GO HERE.

I cant say enogh great things about Alicia and Doctor Jacobs. They did a crown on my front tooth and you cant tell a difference at all! Im not sure how they matched it so well. Very professional and friendly service!

The Family Dental Center provides great customer service and has a very caring staff. The receptionists always have smiles on their faces and greet you from the moment you walk in the door. My family has been seeing Dr. Erica and Dr. Ross for several years now. We couldn't be more happier with the service from all areas of the dental center. Nancy is my hygienist. From the 1st phone call, inquiring about insurance and what/wasn't covered, she helped me through it all.... Whew.... upon the 1st day of my appt, she met me at the door and introduced herself to me and I met Dr. Ben. Nancy took me back to start my exam, pics, and other stuff that hygienist do, and only once did she excuse herself from the room. (Nancy is bilingual and went to assist another patient briefly) I met Dr. Ben as well at my 1st visit and he went over everything with me, including a treatment plan. Nancy came back and apologized numerous times for leaving me. I told her no worries and do what she had to do. On my 2nd visit, I was with Nancy again. She is great. She kept asking how I was doing, was she hurting me, etc. Very professional, courteous, and just fine. I guess she thought I was staring at her, but I was watching my reflection in the above light. My first 2 visits there was great. Now that both Dr. Ben and Nancy have discussed my options and future treatment plan, I have scheduled my next appt without issues. They definitely have lots of various hours and days to assist with people like me that work shift work.

I had to have some extensive work done on my teeth. After years of pushing off and neglecting my dental health, I was embarrassed to haul myself into a dentist office. Leasha, Holly, and other dental assistants worked tirelessly to help me love my smile and to feel comfortable in a place that would usually cause me anxiety. Dr. Jacobs is kind, patient, and he listens when we have issues. On one visit, he and his assistant (Holly) worked for 3 hours on prepping 2 of my teeth for a crown. The teeth had old metal fillings that just didn’t want to come out. They didn’t complain that it ran into their lunch time. Out of all of my visits here, they have never once made me feel like I was a failure. They never made me feel embarrassed. I never felt judged. I just felt welcomed and to me— that meant everything. My heart (and smile) is so happy I found Family Dental Center. Thank you Dr. J!
