After being in the dental field for almost 20 years and being in Glastonbury for almost 10, I decided to find a new dentist in town. I wanted Invisalign and needed a new office bc my previous employer retired. I was lucky enough to get a great referral (from the Invisalign rep) to Dr. Hagopian. I’m at the tail end of my Invisalign (which I am thrilled with) and am happy to have found a new office for my orthodontia and now general dentistry needs! Their office is super clean and neat, their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and Dr. Hagopian is a great dentist and super interesting person! It speaks volumes of him, as a dentist and a person, that his staff has been with him for decades. As far as having to go to the dentist goes—I know I’m always going to be comfortable and get great dentistry—which is why I’ve transferred my husband and are now having my toddler go to Somerset Dental too.

I have been a patient of Somerset Dental for about 10 years now and was referred by a good family friend. I have a pretty significant oral health history starting when I was in middle school and lasting through adulthood. This included: an oral device and facial mask to address jaw problems, braces, receding gums, gum surgery, cavities, extraction, implant, and the basic routine care. With all of this I have worked with numerous oral care practices and I have found Somerset Dental to be exceptional and professional in the care offered, as well as very personable. Kris, my hygienist offers exceptional care and is very informative in addressing any dental questions. One of my implants was completed while attending this practice. Dr Hagopian and the team were great in bringing to light the importance of having the implant completed, keeping me informed with the process and in striving to make sure the final crown was a good fit. Through the process of receiving the permanent implant, Dr Hagopian and the staff took into consideration the importance of maintaining a cosmetic temporary replacement. The office keeps up to date with current treatment/assessment for optimal dental health, such as an optional oral cancer screening. In working to prepare my toddler for her first visit, she was able to sit on my lap during my last visit to get a close up view. To further accommodate the needs of their patients, the office provides earlier hours and occasional Saturday appointments through the year.

I went to this office with a Groupon/Living Social coupon for an exam, cleaning, and teeth whitening. That went fine and the staff, including the dentist, were pleasant and thorough. They pointed out work that they felt I needed and pushed me very hard to schedule it. They asked if I had dental insurance, which I did, and offered to check what it would pay towards the proposed work. I gave them my information and they told me what I could expect for benefits. I told them that I would consider the work, and would let them know upon my return for the whitening session. On that occasion, they asked again about the work and quoted me a different, and higher amount. I declined. A few weeks later, I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my dental carrier showing that this dentist had billed my company for the work performed pursuant to my Coupon. I was furious and called the office. I was given the run around, and after threatening to call my insurance company and report the matter, I was told that the office manager would have to deal with this, even though the issue was quite simple. I did not receive a call back the next day, as promised, so I called. After several minutes of discussion, the manager agreed that they had improperly billed my insurance. Although she tried to pass it off as an innocent mistake, I didn't accept that explanation, as the facts were quite clear. Needless to say, I won't be returning!

Dr. Hagopian is an amazing man with a sense of humor. Your teeth "are forever" so not only will he address your immediate issue, he also explains what future work is recommended to keep your teeth, gums and bone in the very best shape. My teeth require a lot of work. When I had my consultation with Dr. Hagopian he explained in depth what needs to be done, how it is done and why it's important to commit yourself to completing the work necessary for a beautiful smile and healthy teeth and gums.
