Words can not express how WONDERFUL this office and their staff have been to me. I walked in there just about 2 months ago needing a lot of dental work, several extractions and ultimately dentures. I had been embarrassed to go to a dentist for a long time but I felt welcome from the moment I walked in there, not once did they make me feel embarrassed or ashamed of my smile. Smile Dental Center is the place to go if you want to have a healthy smile. Starting with the lovely receptionist Nidia, She was knowledgeable, resourceful, efficient and very proactive. She helped me out get an appointment quickly and did a great follow up since I had a few issues with the insurance information. The doctor and dental hygienist were both on top of their game, addressing root cause of the issues I had, did a thorough check up and provided me with all the info so I could maintain proper care of my teeth. The place is modern as the technology used is as well.

They're just great, happy people. My appointment started right on time, my hygienist, "Star" is a star. She made it so easy and informative and honestly, we laughed like we were old friends. UPDATE: Dr. Ruiz- Please let me assure you that we requested to have another doctor BEFORE the appointment. We spoke to Dr. Bruce Sofferman who assured us he can help after we expressed that we did not want to work with you. We were assured that you will NOT be involved. We were lied to! We were under the impression that he did the crown. I only found out that you were the one who did the crown when I asked the dental hygenist. I was so shocked that we were lied to. You are either not aware that we requested someone other than you so yes I would call this a misunderstanding on your end OR you are continuing to lie to cover up your mistake! Please speak to doctor Sofferman and he will tell you that we were very clear about our request. I could have easily gone somewhere else if we were told the truth. And for your record: he NEVER said he will facetime me because neither one of us have iphones. My husband was assured that making the crown at YOUR office is the better option. After speaking to EXPERIENCED professionals, we were told that it should have been done at a lab because it is a front tooth; the lab work is far more superior unlike what my husband was told. Another lie!! If it was a back tooth then perhaps it would have been okay. My husband was also assured that he can have it taken care of if there is a problem. It should have never been cemented immediately. When he went back the first time after you did the crown, the shape was so off that it caused a problem with his lip. The other doctors had to reshape it. The point is: we asked and we were very clear that we wanted another doctor. It is disturbing to me to know that you were okay to cement it knowing the color is so off. This only shows your level of care and expertise. You should not have worked on the crown. PERIOD! Therefore, we would like a full refund. The option we were given is for him to go back and have YOU work on it again. We were fooled once! Enough!!! First Post: We did ask NOT to have Dr. Ruiz work on my husband's crown as I felt she was NOT experienced enough. We were told that another doctor will do the work. Without us knowing, Dr. Ruiz did the tooth anyways and did a very poor job on the crown. The crown is discolored (more blue than white) and the shape was awful too. They reshaped it but the only way to fix the color is to take off the cemented crown. Why did they allow her to do the crown against our wishes??? Why was the crown cemented knowing that the color is off???? This is a FRONT tooth so it has to look perfect!. I do not recommend this place and I will certainly never be back!

Throughout my past experiences trying to find a good dental facility that you can trust is priceless. I was tired of places that do not care about the individual patient , not willing to work with patients financially and places that frankly give bad advice. I was all but fed up until I came here. My first experience was amazing and Dr. C. was phenomenal and personable and professional, it was a successful, done in a timely fashion and attentive to me during the procedure. Becky at the front desk was able to explain things thoroughly and made me understand everything so that there were no questions. She has also been very willing to help us figure out the best plans and how to work with finances and always with a smile! I have since visited more and my experiences have been just as great as the first,( as great as it can be going to the dentist, lol) I saw Sue recently to have my teeth cleaned and it was very eye opening to hear how informative she was, and how much she wants to help in any way. She follows suit , the people I have encountered here are all passionate people and care for the patients well being. I couldn’t be happier with them and will continue to come back and will also bring my 2 daughters with me as well! You guys are amazing , it’s a breathe of fresh air to be somewhere where you feel that people are honest , helpful and take care of business. Great to feel appreciated for being a client !!! All the staff is very welcoming to conform to your needs and scheduling an appointment. My dental hygienist, Star, was the sweetest and an amazing person that made me so comfortable. Then meeting Dr. Sofferman’s was the highlight of my appt. I couldn’t stop smiling once I left, I am so happy with my experiences of only being there for 2 years.

Dr. Ruiz is my dentist at Smile Dental Center. She initially worked at another office and I went to Shelton because she amazing and she moved there. She is a very thorough and experienced. She takes time to make sure that my teeth are healthy and beautiful. My husband also sees her at Smile Dental Center. She did his crown and she did a wonderful job. She made sure it looked great and also made sure it was comfortable! She went the extra mile and reassured us that we could contact her if we had any problems. We had no problems at all but it was nice to have such a dedicated dentist. We are lucky to have her as our family dentist! With regards to the office, I really enjoyed my experience at Smile Dental Center. The office is the best I have been to. The staff members are very friendly and courteous. In the past, dentists elsewhere have been unable to successfully fully numb my lower jaw when necessary, so I lived in terror of cavities. I decided to try a new practice in case there was another approach, and Dr. Ruiz managed to get me completely numb in one try. Then, she stayed late by about 45 minutes so that I could have a crown fabricated and inserted same-day. Couldn't be happier!
