Imagine a nightmare; you have an abscess over your front tooth, a capped tooth w a post. You have been to a doctor’s clinic and have been put on 2 courses of antibiotics and still have the abscess, where do you go now? Well if you’re lucky enough to search the internet and to come across Dr. Amato, you truly are doing great! I was dealing with a most unpleasant diagnosis of a hairline fracture and bone loss around the post of a front tooth, needing a bone graph and prosthetic partial while the bone heals, it felt like an overwhelming ordeal, but like I said I was lucky to find Dr. Amato and his understanding office crew. From the moment I walked into the office I was treated with respect and understanding of how overwhelming and scary it can feel to a patient. I felt understood and well cared for and what started out as nightmare turned into a manageable procedure with a plan in place and constant support from the entire crew. I feel very fortunate to have found his office.

Scheduled an appointment with Dr. Amato and his staff to inquire about dental implants which I have been putting of for years and years because of unknowing cost and discomfort. I must say I regret waiting as long as I did and wished I scheduled my procedure much sooner. Dr. Amato not only was affordable but the procedure couldn't have gone any better than it did. His staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well is clean and up to date with the latest technology to be sure the job was done correctly. I felt no discomfort from the time the procedure started to when I walked out of the office. I was a little nervous about the healing process thinking I might have a little pain afterwards but I felt absolutely none that I felt the need to leave this review about my visit. I can't say enough good about this office and trust me when I tell you, I am not an easy person to please!! The staff is always so pleasant and friendly which, it's sad to say, but that is rare these days. The office is also immaculate which is an extremely important factor for me. They have every detail covered, right down to disposable polishers for the last step in the cleaning process - something I have never seen in any other dental office. (Not to mention the beautiful murals painted on the walls in each room!) It is evident that each member of the staff takes their job seriously as I have never felt "dismissed" by any member with any question or concern I have had regarding my teeth or billing/insurance questions. After a really bad experience-my regular dentist for 18 yrs retired and was severely negligent in my oral care. For years!!!! Found new dentist and was referred immediately to a periodontist. The DDS wanted to do oral surgery and be put under anesthesia. No way. Researched and found Dr Amato. He was so pleasant as his staff and was put at ease immediately. He reassured me that my severe dental issues he would be able to correct and without the old fashioned surgery. He was so kind and patient to this scared 57 y o woman. I was told I would more than likely loose my teeth by the other periodontist. Well had the surgery-worst part was the needles-the laser was nothing, Rehab a breeze and pain free. I would highly recommend a consult to this doctor before any other surgery. He is up to date with the latest laser therapy. Why would you go to a dentist that was still doing procedures from the 60-70-80"ss come on!! get with the times here now!!! I would highly recommend his office and treatment to anyone- I am a Nurse,RN,BSN,MS. I know how fear can prevent people from seeking treatment. I owe my mouth/teeth to this doctor and he did make me a promise. If i listen to him and follow his advice -I would still have my pearly whites. I recently moved to the area from the Midwest and was very nervous about trying a different periodontist. Dr. Amato quickly put me at ease with his knowledge, skill and positive personality! I had a small amount of gum tissue grafting done in early January. He was able to do the procedure in a way that was quick to recover from and looks great! Since then I went back for a routine cleaning, which I used to dread, but Sandy the hygienist did such a great job and I barely felt a thing! I guess a picture is worth 1000 words in this case. My dentist recommended me to see Dr. Amato due to I have some weird periodontal issue.( a small hole appeared above my gum line, and started foam white discharge) Went to see the doc on 06/17, Dr. Amato decided we should have a small surgery. I had surgery on that day, and told to come back next week to check on the healing. 06/24 was told everything look fine, come back in 3 weeks. However, I pointed out, my gum line is uneven. Doc and nurse said need to wait at least 3-4 weeks before they can do anything. They assure me it will look even. 07/18 Dr. Amato decided to laser the gum line a little bit, so they will look even, it was about 2mm difference at that time. If I smile, you can definitely tell the difference. It was a very quick procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Amato checked with his nurse , he said " do you think I should do a little more? ", He also asked me that question. I was pretty confused , I am not professional. I left office , I sat in my car, I looked into my mirror, I was like, maybe he should laser a little bit more. I went back in the office, spoke to his nurse, I said since I am still numb, do you think we could laser a little bit more. She told me, it was not necessary, if it is still uneven, they will fix it next time. don't worry about it. Today, 08/12, another 3 weeks went by, my gum line is still uneven. Dr. Amato told me, first, he does not have time to fix my gum line, second , if I do want my gum line fixed, I need to pay $$$ to fix it. Yes, I had small teeth before , now I have bigger teeth and uneven gum line, so if you are looking for a periodontics, would you go with this office?

My visit was for a tooth extraction and a dental implant insertion. I was immediately greeted by the friendly and courteous staff and was given a tour of the facilities. NICE! I felt that I was in good hands. I was given a thorough prep including X-rays. I was amazed how easily my broken tooth was removed, without the usual forceful prying and pulling and with none of the bleeding and discomfort afterwards. The implant was inserted immediately after the extraction. Dr Amato certainly demonstrated his manner and skills- before, during and after performing the procedures. All of this at a very reasonable cost. Thanks to all!

After exhaustive research for a second opinion, I am so glad I found Dr. Amato. I tried to home remedy my bleeding gums, inflammation and discomfort to no avail. Then started to notice tooth movement and knew it was time to get professional help. The first periodontist I was referred to wanted to remove several teeth and put in implants. To me, this was too aggressive. I got a consultation with Dr. Amato and was very, very relieved. He offered several options, one which was right for me. I elected the Lanap Laser Treatment. No cutting and less invasive. Within a few days of healing, I felt great. No bleeding, no more inflammation and teeth are no longer moving! And besides getting my smile back, I noticed that my mood is better as well. I am so glad I dodged that bullet. If and when implants are necessary, I will choose Dr. Amato. He is on top of technology and has excellent skills. His staff is also great…professional as well as personable, a rare combination. I highly recommend Dr. Amato. I was referred to Dr Amato by my primary dentist because he is a periodontist that specializes in the Lenap laser surgery in a attempt to save my front tooth. I went in for my consult and Dr Amato said he could save my tooth for at least several years. I was optomistic with his reassuring prognosis of 3-5 years. I figured better to have the tooth than not. We came up with a payment plan in writing, and I came to the appointment prepared to make the initial down payment on my HSA card. The office person entered the card and it was refused. She immediately got an attitude that I didn’t have the funds in the account. I re-assured her the funds were there. I asked her to please try again, which she did, and again it was denied. At this point I offered to have my wife bring a check to the office to solve the problem. But her response was “we can’t see you today anymore” you’ll have to reschedule, and she basically tossed me out of the office. The next day she called and said, “the only way we will proceed with this treatment is for you to pay in full prior to any treatment”. Meanwhile, my wife had called the bank and the issue was that she entered the 3-digit code incorrectly causing the account to lock- so it was her error. I informed her of that but she cut me off. I asked to talk to the doctor because we had agreed upon a payment plan and now they reneged. I was denied access to speak with Dr. Amato. They told me “he was aware of the situation and this is the way it is going to be”. After a month of more research and due diligence, I was conflicted about what to do, because I really wanted to save the tooth but other doctors told me that the tooth was basically shot. I asked Dr Amato repeatedly if this was the right thing to do, or should I have the tooth removed. He reassured me again and said “I would not even be talking to you if I didn’t believe you will get at least 2-3 years with the tooth after I do this procedure”. I was willing to try it, even with my doubts and even after being treated with such disrespect by the office, because I took him at his word. To make a long story short the tooth came out 6 weeks after the surgery. I went into his office immediately with the tooth and he said, “I’ll take care of you” I was very upset and bit my tongue not to lose it in the office. He made me a temporary partial with my broken tooth in it. But I can’t wear it when I eat so it’s an embarrassing and frustrating situation. My issue with the doctor is that his prognosis was wrong, but he gladly took my money up front, and now when I ask him about getting a partial refund he refuses. He told me “stuff happens, too bad, I am not refunding any money to you”. Needless to say, my experience with Advanced Periodontics was negative and unprofessional; they are all about the money and not taking care of the patient. If this happened to you wouldn’t you expect some financial compensation from the doctor??

I love this office. Everyone is friendly. The office is very nice and clean. Everything is done on the computer, you get text reminders and emails for appointments. Dr Amato is amazing, he makes you feel very comfortable and has high tech equipment. He did a wonderful job and I even continue to go there for my cleanings. Sandy is the best hygienist I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this offfice.

Clean office, super friendly staff, and Dr. Kang was fantastic. I had pin hole surgery and he personally called me a few days later to ask how I was feeling. Never have I had the actual Doctor call to check in... typically a staff member. If you need a Periodontist, go to these guys!!

I got the Chao Pinhole gum lift procedure done at this office by Dr. Amato about two years ago. The spot that was being corrected was in a spot with a bicuspid which was pulling. Two years on it looks as if I never had the procedure done, and the spot is painful. $1000 down the drain. I have seen a different dentist who does the Chao Pinhole and he said there are definitely things that could have been done to ensure better results which were not.
