You honestly couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with. I've never had teeth removed before, and was referred to Mountain Oral Surgery to extract 3 wisdom teeth. I have no memory of the procedure, it was done in a timely manner, and being on day 2 (I had surgery done yesterday) I feel like the pain is VERY minimal with also very minimal swelling. Dr. Ryan is very good at his job, and his assistants are also fantastic. I know this sounds strange, but I almost wish I had more teeth to pull just to have an excuse to revisit the office. Seriously.

The interaction I had with Dr. Ryan for a consultation was helpful, although clinically dry and void of anything unique. Reception (pseudo sales staff) will push you into scheduling a procedure and locking into a payment plan up front. I ended up walking away with a $300 bill for 5 minutes of face time with Dr. Ryan and an icy cold bottle of water. In my opinion it wasn't worth it, especially if you aren't even sure you want the procedure done. The water was good though.

Great overall experience. I had a wisdom tooth that was overdue to be taken out. I finally decided to get the procedure scheduled and I am glad that I chose Mountain Oral surgery. From the consult appointment to the procedure day, I was 100% satisfied with this team. A little laughing gas and numbing and I’m pretty sure the actual procedure was done in under two minutes. 5 days post procedure and I feel great. If you have the need for anything in the oral surgery world, do not bother looking anywhere else.

Dr. Ryan and his staff at Mountain Oral Surgery are awesome. Cheryl, Lisa and Tia are the most wonderful and kindest people you will ever meet. I had a wisdom tooth that was causing excruciating pain due it's position in my mouth. None of my regular dental office's surgeons could see me for a couple of weeks at the earliest. A family friend recommended calling Dr. Ryan's office. I explained the situation to Cheryl and she mentioned that Dr. Ryan was fully booked but she'll see what he could do. She called me back right away and got me in that afternoon. I was told I may have to wait a bit since they were quite busy. When I arrived everyone was professional and courteous. They kept me informed and got me in within 15 mins of my arrival. Dr. Ryan and Lisa and went over the procedure, although he couldn't sedate me, they both ensured that I was very comfortable during the procedure. They often spoke to me to help keep me calm and even had another lady named Tia come sit with me to hold my hand just to soothe me through the procedure. Dr Ryan worked as quickly as possible to minimize my discomfort. I am so grateful to Dr. Ryan and his staff for everything they did for me, esp Cheryl, Lisa and Tia. They really took care of me. I am happy to say I suffer minimal pain post procedure and I am recovering quite well. If you ever need an oral surgeon, especially for a difficult procedure, you definitely want Dr. Ryan on your case. Thank you Dr. Ryan, Cheryl, Lisa and Tia, you were really awesome. I wish I didn’t have to give even one star in this review. There were so many problems with this dentist. He’s very painful! The front desk didn’t offer sedation as an option, just promised to make me “very comfortable”. The most painful Novocain shots (10!) I’ve ever had. I was having a molar taken out and felt a lot of pain. At one point he had 2 nurses holding my head while he literally hammered very hard in my mouth. I was terrified and in pain, he saw a couple of tears roll down my face and called me ‘emotional’ also didn’t appreciate him using my chest as his surgical tray and constantly wiping his hands on my breasts. He argued with me at the end, insisting that I leave with 2 prescriptions for narcotics, which I can’t take. (I have over 30 year history of not being able to take these drugs). Dr. Ryan said the drugs couldn’t possibly cause the nasty side effects I described. When I got to my pharmacy they said, according to my history and records, I shouldn’t have these drugs. The pharmacist said all my issues were well known side effects of these drugs. I have had teeth pulled before, by other surgeons, usually a little swelling at the site for a few days and that’s it. Here I am, almost 3 weeks out, still in a lot of pain, swelling, and bruising that goes down my neck and chest. The last thing he said to me was how worried he was and that he would absolutely call me that evening to check on me. He didn’t. I’ve been going to dentists for many years, some great and some not so great but, ok, hey that’s life. This is truly the worst experience I’ve ever had at any dentist, ever. Absolutely sub standard practice in Dr. Ryan’s hands, I am so traumatized from this experience, cannot imagine ever going to a dentist again. Sent from my iPhone

Got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and Im very pleased with Dr. Ryan and his team. Rhianna was my assistant and she did a great job making me feel comfortable with the IV and the sedation process went perfectly. It's my second day and the pain isn't very bad, and from the looks of it my sutures/extraction site look very clean and well done. Would recommend coming here.

I had been avoiding getting my wisdom teeth out for the last few years. Last week I began having bad pain in the gums by one of my wisdom teeth. Long story short, I needed to have that one out ASAP and would need all of them out soon too. Mountain Oral Surgery was able to get me in first thing the next day and get all four out. Between Sherri at the front desk and Jessica getting me settled for the procedure, they took away the anxiety I was having before getting my wisdom teeth out and made the experience so much better. We had a great experience at Mountain Oral Surgery! From the moment we got there, the whole staff was wonderful and very professional. My 12 year old son has never had any dental treatment, so he was very nervous to have a tooth removed, so we opted to have him sedated for the procedure. Tia was the main assistant working with my son and she took the time to explain every step prior to doing it and this was very comforting to him. Sheri, the office manager, could tell I was quite nervous and she was very reassuring and supportive. Dr. Ryan also took the time to explain what was going to happen and did an excellent job and had the tooth out very quickly! What an amazing experience! We had to come in for an emergency extraction and Sophia, my 10 year old, was legitimately terrified. Sherri at the front desk was able to squeeze us in last minute. The stuff made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment we got there. Jessica, the dental assistant, was able to help Sophia relax in the chair. The moment I was taken back to the room, Tia did everything she could to make me feel comfortable immediately. I chose to be put under and it truly was the best option for someone like me who has a heart that jumps when someone says, "Dentist." Tia held my hand while Ashley tried to get my IV into one of stubborn veins. I felt so comfortable. Soon after, I woke up and was taken home. By that evening, I was having a conversation with my fiance with ease. The very next day, I went shopping with my mom who told me that she feels better about getting her wisdom teeth removed considering how well I was doing only 24 hours later. I felt great and healed quickly. Dr. Ryan and his staff are wonderful. Please take this from someone who fears the dentist because I don't stay numb, and I've had so many terrible experiences. This was by far, the best experience related to dental work. I have baby teeth that will need to be replaced with implants and I'll definitely be returning to Dr. Ryan. If my two daughters ever need their wisdom teeth removed, I'll definitely be taking them to Dr. Ryan and his team. Five stars is not enough for this office. Dr. Ryan and his staff know how to make you feel comfortable and at home. From the time you call in with cheerful greeting, until the procedure is done you know that you are in good hands. I am healing just fine after surgery, in fact I had absolutely no pain aside from slight soreness. The building looks fancy and is well kept. Loved everything about this place. Hoping I don't ever have to see them again for my sake but if I do... I know that I can count on this place to take great care of me.

The smiles that greet you are so warm and inviting, what ever fear you may have of the dental visit just melts away. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a dentist. TL;DR If you don't have a good dental insurance, don't bother to visit Dr. Ryan, as all he is interested in, is your money, not your health. I was sent by my family dentist for a second opinion to Dr. Ryan, as I've had a nerve pain around my tooth implant area. I've already had a 2-D panoramic X-ray taken by my family dentist. Of course, the office of Mountain Oral Surgery didn't ask for it, as they were apparently more worried how to bill my insurance for more. The dental assistant told me she had to do a panoramic X-ray, not explaining what type. I thought she was going to take a 3-D X-ray as I've read about it on their website. After it was done, she said: "Now we will take one more - the 3D". I told her I already had a 2D taken 2 weeks prior, but she didn't seem to care. After 40 min wait, dr. Ryan arrived and he was in a rush. He said he needs more X-rays taken, besides the 2D and 3D panoramic ones. Since I've had at least 7-8 regular X-rays taken within the last one month (as I've been visiting dentists to figure out my nerve pain around the implant), I was prepared and I said I have all of my X-rays in my email and opened them immediately on my phone. Dr. Ryan was really annoyed by the fact that I don't want to have any more X-rays and he said: "Ok, I'll look at those later." Well, after the exam, he never looked at them. Instead, he rushed to call my family dentist. He came back within a few minutes and said "Your dentist told me he actually sent you for a potential new implant on your missing tooth on the other side". I explained to Dr. Ryan that at this time my basic dental insurance doesn't cover tooth implants at all and I will wait for a new implant procedure, until I start a new job with a better dental insurance, but he can still explain to me the procedure. His exact words: "If you're not going to do it anytime soon, there is no point talking about it." To top everything off, a few days ago, I requested my 2D and 3D panoramic X-rays from Mountain Oral Surgery. Here is their exact reply: " I have attached your panoramic x-ray. 3-D scans cannot be sent via email as the file is too large. We also do not release 3D scans unless they are paid for/purchased by the patient. The customary fee for a 3D scan is $ 299.00." As you can see, just "paid for" by your insurance, is not enough for Dr. Ryan. Apparently, he also doesn't care how much radiation he is going to expose you to, as long as he gets paid.

After years of horrific fear of dentists and their instruments of torture I chose to ignore dentistry altogether leaving my teeth in pretty sorry shape. A visit to a dentist resulted in him referring me to Dr. Ryan of Mountain Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He’s both an Oral Surgeon and Medical Doctor. In collaboration with Dr. Ryan we chose dental implants using the “All on Four” or “Teeth-in-an-Hour” procedure. I’m a ways into restoring the damage I did and could not be more pleased. First of all Dr. Ryan is a straight shooter, just tells the story the way it is, options, risks, probable outcomes, etc. and lets you decide. Second he’s a perfectionist … scrupulous and meticulous. Third he’s pain compassionate beyond words and fourth, he’s knowledgeable of and equipped with every instrument of modern dental technology. His office staff and surgical assistants are tenured professionals in their field and have compassion above reproach. I now have beautiful teeth but dreaded my 5 hour surgery every day for two months and am just astounded there was nothing to dread at all. I had failed implants, but we all know on any surgeries it’s 2 way deals. Doctor does what he knows is best however patient’s physical reactions is not something we can control. Giving 5 stars because doctor was willing to do what he can to fix it, i had to do sinus clean up and I was impressed by how fast doctor and his assistant worked on it with care. I respect people who stands by their words and this doctor is one of them, i look forward to work with dr and his associates more. Two hours after a scheduled appointment we are waiting for them to "fit us in". That was very frustrating and a definite waste of time. When the time did come to be taken in, the medical staff made up for what occurred in the office by excelling at their profession. They made sure she had all her bases taken care of regarding care and education. So far her recovery is going well. As far as office staff, there should be a better plan regarding communication and information gathered because we would have certainly not come in for a 10 am appointment if we had known hours would be wasted and awkwardness could have been avoided.

I am really afraid to go to the dentist so when I was told I had to have a tooth pulled and an implant I wasn't a happy camper. I called around to many oral surgeons to ask questions about what the surgery entailed.
