Ben here twice for my small children dentist appointments be careful with the parking and tickets . but the service is excellent and dental work . but waiting time before your actually appointment is horrible and wait time in the phone im sorry ,and waiting area is very small if the waiting time and waiting area matched the service it would be the perfect place to go.

I'm not happy. Hoping to save money, I drove out to Redlands to find out more about dental implants. After paying a fee I was given a cursory exam with a vague estimate of cost (which was more than I was quoted by my own dentist). However, I was told someone would contact me (by phone or email) about a follow-up appointment including an exact estimate that would include what my insurance might cover. After more than a month I heard nothing and had to contact Loma Linda myself. This time I was told there was little chance of my insurance helping (and that I'd have to pursue that on my own). I don't think this will be worth a second trip.

Loma Linda is such an enormous gift to its community and to those who go there from miles around. This is the best professional dental work I have ever had anywhere by the most caring students and the most conscientious teaching staff that could be possible. The price is an incredible value, really such a gift. I have had all of my dental work done at Loma Linda for more than 10 years. However, if you are in a hurry, and you believe their service should be an "in and out" convenience, you're in the wrong place. For an enormous savings and for top quality work, which should never be taken for granted, don't expect that it won't take longer, that you won't have to wait a bit longer and that your care will more conscientious that you might have wanted. These incredibly caring students and the school are giving you a gift, but it will cost you some time, some waiting and some patience. You might have to wait for student breaks and testing, and you have to wait for their work to be checked out completely. I consider the travel and the wait a very small price to pay for the quality of the work and caring I receive. I regretted that I referred a friend who had little to do with his time, but was always upset by how long things took and how his needs weren't met instantly. He deserved to pay the high prices he was charged and the problems he complained about in the dental office that rushed him in and out and always found one more thing to charge him for and I told him to go back there. Loma Linda is a great gift if you remember that are not the priority; the student being trained is and you are next -with that in mind, you will receive the best care from students who can't do enough, and from supervising professors who allow no mistakes. I have never heard anyone complain about the price or the quality of the care, once the work is finished. And I am very grateful for the quality care I have received all these years.

This is a school and the dentists that do the work are supervised by experienced dentists but the students are practicing and the school likes to charge full price for all of the dental work and cannot accept dental insurance. They quoted 8000.00 for an implant. I've already spent 3000.00 + here and they aren't finished yet. Then a student told me they charge him 400.00 a day for the time to work on patients. It's a college that has based everything on religion, but I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't want them to be that greedy. I'm not coming back here after the work is done and I don't recommend it to anyone else.

Horrible place to take your kids to get dental work. My daughter is 3 and when we were finally allowed to go back to get her she was still sedated in a chair. All kids were just put in a chair. And nurses urging them to wake up.....they just handed her to me and kept telling me that I had to leave. She was not alert at all....was sedated and bleeding really bad, her lips were both cut open and we couldn't tell because the swelling was too much. They just literally push you out the door to get the next one in. Horrible. No care for kids at all. When I asked for the prescription for pain medication, they just told me to go buy Tylenol because they don't provide prescription nor medication for pain. My daughter slept all day.....cried all night. And couldn't eat for 3 days. When I called them to ask for advice on what to do because she refused to eat and had a fever, they said they had no doctors because it was Friday, and the nurse said to take her to the nearest hospital. She spent 5 days in the hospital with a horrible reaction to anesthesia and was very dehydrated ...... Thank God for the San Bernardino Community hospital that took care of her after they did this horrible thing to her. Sad to see they don't even consider to put kids in a bed so that they don't fall and hurt themselves when they're wailing up.

Let me start with it does take all day, they tell you that and prepare you for it. They are not lying when they say it so be ready. I was not looking forward to going and sitting there all day but really it wasnt that bad i just had things to keep my son entertained and it worled he barely complained. But most importantly I want to thank the staff they have to deal with everyone and that isn't always easy. They were all so nice from the front ladies, the anesthesiologist, the dentist, the ladies who do the physical, and all the nurses there and that is what is most important to me so THANK YOU for taking good care of my son for me i appreciate it

(This review is for the Special Care Dentistry department) We were recommended to LLU for our 22mo sons teeth. He had some cavities and cysts that needed to be addressed immediately. My wife called LLU and they scheduled him for an appointment the next day. We showed up (on time is key) and were taken care of quickly. The waiting rooms fill up after 9pm so take heed. Every single employee we met was very very very helpful. They seemed to love there job. I do not know about the other posters experience but they must have been mistaken. Nurses and doctors were eager to communicate and care for our child. As any parent can agree, when the child is out of your care in a hospital you are very scared. They made sure that you were aware of every step and that you knew your child was okay. The recovery nurse was very nice and showed that she cared for my child's well being. She tried to connect with us on a personal level as opposed to a technical level. Our son is home safe and sound. He is happy as can be. (This part is for the Oral Surgery department) Our son needed a consult from Oral Dentistry while under. They came down and the doctor we met was happy to communicate his findings with us. He was polite and caring. LLU is a great place to take your children.

Been going there for 7 years. And its great. Cost is 1/3 cheaper. A person must be patient. Dental work is difficult and sometimes there are problems. I had problems but rather than bag on the dentist I worked with the dentist to solve it, And it got solved. They are better than Western Dental and many others. Thank you LLUSD

I really really think that that the dentistry is way too slow. I don't understand why if you have a 10:00 appointment and you're not seen until 12:30 or 1:00. I understand that people are having surgery sometimes but how many dentist's are working in this office knowing that there's so many people with special needs who go here. It's not fare to them or anyone who wants to sit in the dentist office all day. An appointment means and appointment. Lousy service

Tyler wallway

Had a walk In and drove an hour to get absolutely nothing accomplished and a dentist that said his tooth was infected but couldnt write a prescription for it. Absolute waste of time

I have had nothing but good experiences. Some things are just common sense. You're going to a Dental "SCHOOL". . Of course for any major/minor dental work they need an OK from your PCP in case of Low Platelets, HB, Diabetes etc. This sh/b every patient's major responsibility. LLU has saved me over minimum $7,500. Staff is courteous, professional & knowledgeable. They will work with you regardless the circumstances. Appts, they tell you upfront each Student has 8 hrs on floor. Appts are 8-12 & 1-5. Most of the time w/in 3 hrs I'm done. (UNLESS you are a Walk-in) I beat the traffic. 130 MI R/T for me but it's worth it. I have referred people. They even have a payment plan. If you don't know ASK QUESTIONS, THEY HAVE THE ANSWERS.

Got my kid refered to Loma linda because he’s autistic. Took months to finally got an appointment. They just kept giving me the wrong number. Kept bounced around before we got it right. So finally drove there to take my kid to his appt and he was all fine. Got there at 7 am but didn’t get call untill 9. Which is fine because i already know that it’s an all day appt. thing is ...when we got there my kid sneeze. His nose was little watery. They asked me about that and i said he shouldnt be sick because he was fine no cold symtom but they said his nose is too wet. I told them im not sure because in the morning we always have runny nose in the morning and i just wiped his nose off . then the Anestesia person said oh its not on your record and called other staffs to looked at him. She said if we do it your kids might end up going to the hospital .so I said fine just cancel it. ( i wasn’t happy but just incase he really start to get sick so i didn’t want to risk ) While other staffs was trying to get me reschedule she started walking away and said it out loud “ this was the second one that i have to cancel today”

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS-GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I came here for treatment, and all I can tell you is that this place is awful. I had extreme dental anxiety going in, and I left with even more trauma. I wish I was kidding about the level of unprofessionality I experienced at this place. I came in with a broken front tooth with exposed nerve. It took MONTHS and multiple appointments before they would fix it, and I have to go to more appointments with specialists because they left me with an infection in the bone, and the need for a root canal and crown. If you thought it would be cheaper to go here, don't waste your money here because its not, and you'll have to spend more to fix the "work" they do here. Just go somewhere with an established dental office. Forget about having an appointment as well, because if you expected to come in for "quick work" it'll take over 2 hours past your appointment time before they even want you to fill out basic paperwork. If you're bringing your kids here, be ready for them to ask to put them in a documentary about dental anxiety because the students will be so impatient with them, that they'll probably start to panic. Go to a family/ children's clinic. If you need even more warning about this place, scroll through the rest of the reviews on here, because almost all of them are negative.

IT IS A SHAME, THAT A DENTAL SCHOOL THAT PRIDES ITSELF ON THE HISTORY OF PROVIDING FREE DENTAL CARE AROUND THE WORLD TO THOSE IN NEED, CAN NPT DP MORE FOR THOSE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO HAVE NEED. AFTER A LOVED ONE WAITED 3 MONTHS ON A WAITING LIST WAS TOLD HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY AMOUNTS HE COULD NOT AFFORD ON A FIXED INCOME. NOW AFTER INVESTIGATING, NOT INFORMED BY THE SCHEDULER, BUT BY ANOTHER SOURCE, YOU DO HAVE SAC NORTON. I have a complaint for student GISELLE SAPIENS - she is rude, had no idea about hospitality, unprofessional, and she sells/uses drugs on site. She talks about her weekends getting drunk/high with her friends while around patients, and we witnessed her use/sell drugs in the parking lot. When we asked for help, she quickly shuffled into the other room after looking me directly in the eye after I asked for help, give jobs to people who actually care!!! She does not care about her patients. We will further investigate this on our end but I am disappointed with this & hope they will look into this. AVOID AT ALL COST!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Had an appointment scheduled for 7:30am, so we arrived at 7. An hour passes from our scheduled appointment, and then they tell us we’re missing a form from our primary care physician... that they didn’t tell us we needed prior to the appointment. Now it is 11am and we still haven’t been seen, and hey just informed us, yet again, that there is another form they need (that they failed to mention). Seriously, they expect your child to fast beforehand, but then sit an additional 4 hours. They also tell you, that if your child is going to sleep, the vehicle that brought them cannot leave, even for a few minutes to grab a bite to eat or anything... otherwise your child may not be seen. Be prepared for an 11 hour day!!!

If I could give negative stars I would! This place is a complete joke! My mother even works for this hospital so I was shocked by the way the maxillofacial surgery center treated me. I would NOT recommend! I called my insurance and asked for different place.

You will sometimes save a little on your dental work BUT it may not be done right too. You will also need to see if what a student thinks is correct is the best solution.

OMG, 2.5 years later and my dental work is still not complete. What started out as a $3200.00 quote as escalated to almost $5000.00. I've had 3 students, the first student Grace was HORRIBLE, I can't imagine that she was allowed to graduate. Even the staff dentists say that her crowns and restorative work is horrible. My fillings are mismatched, my teeth are discolored and I still have a cavity in my canine that she worked on. Her work was so horrible that the dentist asked her why she had accepted my case in the first place. After she graduated, and my work was left undone, I was given to another student by the name of Susan whom I absolutely loved, unfortunately for me, she only did my partial. I currently have a new student to finish up with my final crown. The student is nice, but I was so roughly man handled by the resident dentist in charge and the student, it was 2 weeks before I could even eat. To top it off, I have a metal allergy which is stated in my chart. Instead of taking a impression and putting on a resin temporary, the temporary placed was a generic called a tin can. I am allergic to most metals, especially aluminum. As a result, I had a severe reaction to the aluminum and after being in agony for 1 week had to go back on a emergency basis and have a proper resin temporary put on the tooth. I need more work, but after I have my permanent crown glued in, I'm not going to walk away, I'm going to RUN away. Oh, and what ever you do, do not pay in advance! I did and they sat on my money for almost 6 months Grace, my first student decided to forget to call me and concentrated on working on her other patients instead. If you are a masochist and don't mind having your jaw dislocated, or mind having a sponge stuck so far down your throat that you swallow it, go for it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just had my uppers pulled and be done with it. With the shoddy work that I currently have, I doubt if my teeth will last 3 years. I have a nursing background and I am used to needles and injections do not bother me at all. If I had not paid for my work in advance, I would have bailed long ago. Because this crown is a redo, and I already paid for it, I must keep my appointment, but I intend to self medicate myself before going for my visit as I'm having anxiety attacks just thinking about it I would not recommend Loma Linda School of Dentistry for anything except extractions, and maybe dentures. Check out Yelps reviews. I'm not the only one who has had problem with this establishment.

Told me I had to call a different department. The other department sent me back. Sat on hold for 20 min for a lady to answer and say "that department has gone to lunch" and hung up.

I went to the Loma Linda dental urgent care with a very bad tooth ache. I came in later in the day but was still able to be seen and treated within the same day! The students and staff were all extremely kind and patient and gentle even though I was crying and in pain! Without insurance for exam, x-rays and extraction I spent less that 200$ and was in and out in less than a few hours! For the price, I am extremely impressed with their care and service! I am very grateful this place is here and will be visiting their other (non emergency) clinic soon! I do recommend going early since it does fill up fast and bring payment because it is due in full at the time of the treatment! They also accept insurance if you have it!

PERIO DEPARTMENT IS THE WORSE. ALL OTHER DENTAL EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN GREAT. STUDENTS ARE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL AND THOROUGH. I AM ALWAYS TREATED WITH RESPECT UNTIL I STARTED GOING TO THE PERIO DEPARTMENT. THE RECEPTIONISTS ARE RUDE AND DISMISSIVE AND THIS HAS BEEN TRUE AT EACH AND EVERY VISIT... SIX VISITS SO FAR. PATIENTS ARE TREATED AS IRRITATIONS. THE PERIO HYGIENIST IS GREAT BUT THE PERIO DOCTOR I HAD IS NOT A PEOPLE PERSON. ...STICKS INSTRUMENTS IN MY MOUTH AND THEN STARTS SWIVELING AROUND IN HER CHAIR WHILE THE INTRUMENT IS POKING ME SO THAT I HAD TO GRAB HER HAND TO GET HER TO STOP. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL FOR SUCH SERIOUS WORK. AND WHEN SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT, THE PERIO DOC BLAMES ME!!!! I TRIED TO COMPLAIN AND WAS TOLD BY RUDE RECEPTIONIST THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME BUT NO ONE DID. WHY??? MAYBE NO ONE GOT THE MESSAGE? I GO TO LLDU BECAUSE IT'S ALL I CAN AFFORD. I HATE THAT I HAVE TO ENDURE THE PERIOD DEPARTMENT PEOPLE.

My 2 year old was referred here by his dentist. To have a cavity fixed. Unbelievable waiting time. No sufficient space for waiting area. My 2 year old was fasting since 10pm the previous day. His appointment was at 8am. We arrived at 7:30am to fill out paperwork. We weren't called to the window at all. Paperwork was filled out at 8:30am. And it was 10am and nothing. He wasn't called back. My 2 year old was so hungry and thirsty. This is very unprofessional of this place. To keep a toddler waiting in these conditions. We had to leave. As my child could not bare not eating.

This is the only place I guess in IE that will put your child to sleep during a dental Procedure, especially if you have a child with special needs as I do! Once you check in thier will be a 3 to 4 hour wait rather it is for a consultation or to put your child to sleep! And a year out appointment. From the first time I was seen here took me a year of frustration to be seen. Faxes never being received. Blah blah anyways my son was seen today one of the top nurses prior to being put to sleep was really rude on top of the already stressful situation and I also asked to keep my sons teeth and they just tossed them which I was really upset! My son woke up with 2 teeth missing and no teeth to show him or explain to him nore to tell him the tooth fairy will come. When I talked to a nurse about it she automatically told me a excuse saying they we’re decayed... no they were not she was giving me false Information. My sons teeth they took out we’re not decayed. I just all around disappointed with this place!

Thomas o'callaghan

There is no benefit in going to Loma Linda dental clinic. I wish I had done more research before becoming a dental patient there. I would have learned that Loma Linda is rated 39 out od 66 US dental colleges. I should have read the reviews, especially the ones complaining about Dr.Taylor, the man in charge who makes it very clear that his responsibility is to his dental students even at the expense of his paying customers to the tune of authorizing procedures and appliances that are unnecessary, even shoddy. The poor reviews also mention Laura, the woman at the alleged customer service desk, a fierce guard dog for Dr. Taylor, who at the first sign of a complaint, dismisses all further patient questions. If the patient persists, he is verbally abused. Dr Taylor will not take responsibility for errors. The patient will have to go elsewhere to have the corrections made. My advice, to everyone, is to find a local dentist with good reviews, avoid the commute, the traffic, the lack of parking, the poorly supervised amateur quality of the dental work and save money in the end. I give four stars to the cafeteria.

If you can avoid coming to this facility of business I would absolutely do so, this is one of the most unprofessional places I e been to in this area. My daughter is disabled so we’ve been with the Loma Linda team for 7 years. And out of the 7 years this place is the worst place of all. First off the staff meaning the front desk people, are some of the most unprofessional team I have ever encountered, they tend to not answer questions that need to be answered, than they smirk and act very unfriendly and immature. I get a call days befor the surgery asking to bring certain paperwork pertaining to the procedure, and that I did so. I get to the office and they didn’t need anything from me they requested, but instead wanted something I was never asked for, mind you by this time it’s 2 and a half hours passed surgery time. Since I didn’t have the paper they asked for, they sent me to a building in Redlands to get it. As I return I’m than told since I left there are now 8 people ahead of you, all while my disabled 7 year 9ld has been fasting. By the end of this whole thing the procedure was never even performed, @1pm they finally call us to the back to tell us they will not do any procedure, do to them wanting other doctors to check her, even though we had a clearance for surgery from her primary. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get down to the facility, took 5 hours to finally be seen, and another 3 hours to get home, with absolutely nothing accomplished. This disappointing experience that I had was something I can not look past, it took almost 6 months to get an appointment and than all this, this place needs to be evaluated by the state board, and the better business bureau, it’s just un excusable to make children fast for 10 and more hours and sit in a small confined waiting room packed with people is inhumane. The doctors tend to not even know anything about a patient until the moment of the intake for surgery, they have no empathy toward what there patients are going through and show no care for the disgusting waiting area. They need to either get retraining done or get more doctors. If by any chance you can avoid this place I would recommend you do so.
