I feel like Little Rock Family Dental Care deserves to be bragged about!! I just had my dental appointment and EVERYONE in this practice made me feel completely taken care of. I am on the schedule to have my wisdom teeth removed under IV Sedation and knowing they have a special IV Sedation team to administer and monitor me while Dr. Leal is removing my teeth makes me feel much better about my appointment. From the moment I walked in, everything was clean and professional. The Dr's made me feel at ease about my treatment and I am very confident that I chose the right place for all my dental work. Thank You Dr. Machen and your staff for all you do!

The only reason I"m giving it a 5 is because of Dr. William Gibson. I would follow him to the moon to do my dental work. The front desk staff is not all that nice and my last temp crown was done by a trainee and looks really bad but to have a dentist like Gibson sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. I think once he retires I will look for a low key office. I think they keep their dentist a little overworked because I feel sometimes Gibson is rushed to get to the next patient. He was not like this at his last practice where there was only 3 dentist. I miss that office. I only recommend this clinic because of him.

I do not like leaving a negative review on a company and try to refrain but when I feel like others could possibly experience what I did then I will do so. I chose this office based on location from where I work in LR and also saw a bunch of 5 star reviews which I am now having doubts if they are even real reviews. No one I know had been here before to give an in person opinion when I asked around so I decided to give it a try. I don’t remember the names of the hygienist or dentist that did a bit of work on me. They were very nice to me so this review isn’t about them. Some of the receptionists are very unwelcoming. One of them asked (in a flat voice) how I was doing when I walked in for my first visit and I said “I’m a little nervous but I think-“ and that’s where she cut me off by interrupting me and quickly said you need to fill this out and handed a clipboard and I saw her roll her eyes as she turned the other way. Completely cut me off and made it clear she wasn’t going to see if I had any questions about the form. As a person with social anxiety things like this can be a deal breaker for my business with a company. And the billing? Ridiculous. I had made a second appt but ultimately decided due to the experience with front desk the first time I didn’t want to go back because I didn’t feel comfortable. I called and cancelled that second appt 3 days ahead of time and was still billed for an office visit. I was told there was no record of me cancelling the appt and billed for a missed appt. $100 bill for an appt I CANCELLED 72 hours beforehand. Then began adding late fees to a bill I shouldn’t even be receiving. I’m sick of arguing with them. I’ve paid the bill just so they will stop harassing me but kept all records and I will NOT return here. Unbelievable. I finally found a new dentist office that is welcoming, friendly and professional in all areas of the building and even though it’s 25 minute drive that’s out of my way I’ll happily make that trip.

This is the best dental office I have ever been too. I'm terrified of dentists and although I do not have major dental problems, just coming in for a cleaning was very relaxing. My teeth feel amazing afterwards!! They got my little brother in same day and did an emergency root canal. Very pleased!!! His little tooth was broken in half on the front and he left with the biggest smile because they fixed it right up for him. Dr. Machen is the sweetest dentist and his staff is very helpful with getting us in and taking care of your dental needs and wants. From the first phone call to me walking out, I was very impressed. I recommend this office to anyone who needs a great dental office for you and your entire family.

Wait time is minimal, they make every effort to get you in on your scheduled appointment time. The dentists are top-notch and excellent in their specialties. Two root canals have been painless. Dr. Gibson makes it fun and enjoyable to be in his dental office. The hygienists are also terrific. Highly recommend Litlle Rock Family Dental!

I've used Little Rock Family Dental for several years now. I was so impressed with them that I referred my father and step mother there as well and they have had the same excellent experience that I have. The facility is state of the art with professionally trained staff. Dr. Randy Machen is one of the best dentist i've ever used. Prior to going to him, I was terrified of going to the dentist, but they make you feel at home, make sure you are comfortable. I've had dental work done there, my father, step mother, and my wife all have had dental work done by Dr. Machen and his staff and we all have nothing but good things to say about his office and staff. I will never use another dentist again. Thank you for your amazing practice and the way your team has treated my family and I. You guys are top of the line and I wish I could give you more than 5 stars, you deserve 10!

I will never forget these people! I had a terrible tooth ache. I had been taking care of a critically ill child to the point I’d neglected myself. They asked me why I’d waited so long.l, I told them. The hygienist was super nice. The doctors were even nicer. I left there feeling like I’d won something. Actually I have won the best dental care I’ve ever received to the point where I feel comfortable enough to go back this year and have the work they suggested. I wish I could give this place 0 starts, their not even worth 1 star. A huge inconvenience and completely inconsiderate. I called in to get the remainder of the cement from my braces removed and I was told they could do so I scheduled and appointment, I arrive 10 minutes early check in and they again confirmed what I was having done. I waited 45 minutes to get called to the back and see someone...I get back there sit another 52 minutes to be exact... then some random woman comes in and tells me that they don’t do that.

if there was an option for zero stars I would give it to this dentist office. Well for starters I made an appointment for wisdom teeth extraction consult and showed up for the consult being told by the rude office staff that my appointment was canceled after taking a day off work. This is not the first time this has happened. One time the office staff had to call me four times to reschedule teeth cleaning due to error on their part. After being offered a free consult I decided to go ahead and use the dentist office. After receiving the services from the office I received an EOB stating that I owed the office $285.00. I called the office and they state I owe over $800. The dentist office didn't submit all charges to my insurance and refused to submit the charges determine correct patient responsibility. The billing and office manager is rude and are not willing to work with you with issues. I will be contacting the American dental board and the BBB in regards to this issue. Do the right thing. File all charges to my insurance to determine the correct patient responsibility.

Dr. Murphy was great!!! If I could rate the service, quality and caliber of people who work there as well as my Endodonist, Dr. Aundra Murphy's professionalism and bedside manner it would be 100 stars. I enjoyed the experience and it was calming for me.I had a root canal before, under sedation, from another Dental facility, but this time I only had my gums numbed (brave me, huh?), I was nervous at first, but I can truly say that it was an unusually very pleasant and "fun" experience. Dr. Murphy has a great sense of humor and was funny. I am almost ashamed (usually in these situations it is unpleasant) to say that it was something I would do again with the right doctor- Dr. Murphy. I felt very little pain after the surgery and none really the next day or after. I did not take any medication the next day or after that root canal. If you are nervous about going to have any dental surgery on your teeth, ask for Dr. Murphy at the LR Family Dental Care, you won't be disappointed!

I have very much enjoyed my time learning everything there is about Dental Assisting at LRSDA which is associated with Little Rock Family Dental Care. Being able to watch and learn in an actual clinical setting helps retain information better. The Dentists and other staff are very nice and accommodating to questions and concerns. You can feel the over all caring nature of this whole office, from the front desk all they want back to the labs. I would definitely recommend choosing Little Rock Family Dental Care for your next dental needs, or even go to Little Rock School of Dental Assistanting for that new and improved career path change. Terrible customer service. I made an appointment, and when I arrived for said appointment, I was told that they didn't have me down for that day...or any other day for that matter. There was no record of me calling in to make the appointment. When I called, I even updated my insurance info and discussed which dentist (by name) I wanted to see! Who took that info? The receptionists said that it was the second time that day that someone had showed up for their appointment, but there was no appointment on their books. The girls working the front desk could not have cared less. I was basically told that I must have scheduled with another office...even though I looked through my caller ID later and found their number that was called when I made the appointment. But I'm the crazy one, not them. Truly unfriendly and unhelpful front desk staff.

About what you have come to expect from a company still trying to hide it's terrible practices. One of the worst communication experiences with Family Dental. You could be told a certain amount for the deposit and if you check, you're charged more without being told the amount. If you question any part of the procedure- like the out of pocket face scan that no one else does because it's a money grab, period- than you'll be asked for the full amount up front with no payment plan options. You'll be met with fake victims claiming hostage by policyholders otherwise. Anyone who does their due diligence will find this place is anti maverick types.

Nice dental practice in Little Rock. Making the appointment was easy. Wait time before appointment was fast. Office staff was very professional and understood my insurance billing. Once I got back into the chair my hygienist was very helpful. I used Tonya and she was very personable and helpful. She explained each part of the process and made me feel comfortable. I did need some additional work and she explained that as well as cost. Overall it was an excellent experience and I will be back as well as refer other customers.

I worked here for a short stint. It's corporate dentistry at it's finest. Max Money. Minimum Patient Focus. You're basically just a number, and all their operatory 'rooms' are large open areas packed with chairs. Very little privacy. -- There are some very talented doctors working here, but there were also a few that repeatedly walked the fine line between professionalism and sexual misconduct. Of course, the doctors were never reprimanded to the extent that the assistants were for lesser offenses. All those 5 star reviews? The owner routinely offers $5 to any employee that writes a positive review. With 40+ members on the clinical staff, and another 12+ in the financial division, that's a lot of positive reviews. Not to mention the continuous employee turnover. Few assistants / receptionists stay there very long. --- I'm sure there will be an influx of positive reviews after he notices this one.. They do operate a decent learning program for Dental Assistants seeking certification. They get a lot of hands-on training, especially compared to other schools like Eastern College. If you want to go to the largest dental office in Central Arkansas and deal with a myriad of different staff members each visit, then this place is for you!! However, if you don't want your toothache turning into a headache, then perhaps shop around for a different provider of dental care.

I was in Little rock over a year ago to get a few cavities filled, I was prescribed some meds to take did not work, they hurt so bad that I could not sleep at night and had to go back the very next and now that the doc drilled too deep for a filling I have an accessed tooth and have to get a root canal.

I took my 4 year old granddaughter here for an emergency filling. She was scared already because our dentist had been able to drill her tooth, but she wouldn't let him fill it. Someone here gave her a pre-sedative drink to relax her. They didn't wait as lomg as they had said they would. And they refused to let me go back with her. Afterward I found that they had strapped her down & she was absolutely terrified when she came out. A couple of hours later her face was bruised badly around her mouth. On top of that, after she had gone back to exam room for filling, a staff member told me they couldn't fill it, because she needed a crown instead. Of course, I had to pay the additional amount before they would finish working on her.

I love LR Family Dental!! They are always quick. I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the lobby, b/c they are never behind w/ appointments. Beth, my hygienist, is AMAZING!! She is quick, thorough & never hurts my gums!! She is so sweet & funny!! Dr. Gibson is literally the best!! Great work, minimal pain & very friendly!! He has always done great work on my teeth!! I have followed him to 3 clinics in the last 30 years. This clinic is by far my favorite!! He is a great dentist & a nice, very funny guy!! The people are all as sweet as can be. They greet you very nicely & help in anyway they can. The billing department is wonderful at their job & always gets you the best deal w/ your insurance. No other clinic comes close to measuring up to these folks!!

If you are looking for an affordable dentist in the Central Arkansas area, don’t stop here....keep looking. Was told total out-of-pocket cost for root canal and crown after insurance paid would be $1,348. Um, no. That’s just crazy. Called around and did some pricing with other dentist and cut total cost out-of-pocket by more than half to less than $600. Corporate dentistry was how someone describe this dental practice and I would agree wholeheartedly. Don’t be just another dollar sign do your due deligence and shop around.

Horrible experience with business office staff (Karen/Kara). I was seen by dentist prior to this call. The dentist post x-ray discussed needed procedure and advised scheduling procedure/apt set (keeping in mind I expressed the entire time that I have two nerves exposed and I am in severe pain. The next day the office staff call to confirm appointment. I notice that the treatment had been changed to additional more expensive procedure. I was told that the business office would call me back. I spoke with Karen/Kara who advised that she could not change the tx plan and that a deposit would be required in addition to insurance if any other procedures were done that was not a part of the treatment plan. I told her that I had a filling come out and that the nerve was exposed. She cut me off in mid sentence and told me that she could not change the tx. plan and that a $250.00. deposit would be required with insurance. I felt like they were trying to ramp up my tx to build the cost. The dentist stated that a lessor procedure was needed post x-ray and exam. The assistant also confirmed. I will take this concern further because I'm afraid that I'm not the first and I will not be the last.

Showed up to my appointment (that I took off work for) 10 minutes prior. Ended up waiting 25 minutes until I was in a chair. It just so happened that a filling came out the morning of my appointment, while flossing. I told them about it and they didn’t seem to think twice. Wanted me to book another appointment to come back and have it filled. This filling had been done by them two years prior. They wanted me to pay over $100 for this filling and I think that is ridiculous. Shouldn’t there be some sort of discount or owning up to a failed attempt of filling a tooth? I’ve never had so many fillings or “problems” with my teeth until I came to this dentist (per family recommendation). It all seems like a scheme to me. Squeezing their patients for money is probably how they stay afloat. It’s also very hard to make an appointment here. The receptionists are always pretty rude and seems like they just sit and gossip all the time. Another minor complaint is that the last 2/5-6 visits were the only time my teeth were flossed. If you’re reading, do yourself a favor and find an honest, competent and professional dentist office as I will be doing from now on.

Unprofessional and incompetent. I had been a patient at LR family dental care and had two cleanings done with them and everything went fine. The problem occurred when I needed my wisdom teeth pulled. I contacted my insurance to make sure the procedure would be covered and they said it would be. I arranged a consultation with family dental care to discuss having my wisdom teeth pulled and during the consultation they also assured me that it would be covered by my insurance. So when I received a bill for $600 I was surprised and confused. I contacted family dental thinking it must have been a mistake. They said because my wisdom teeth were impacted that it was considered and "surgical" procedure and that I was responsible for the $600 bill. I said that during a consultation from THEM they said NOTHING about my wisdom teeth being impacted or that it would be a surgical procedure. They admitted to making the mistake and said they would still expect me to pay the bill! Unbelievable! I told them if they had provided me with the correct information my insurance would have ben able to cover it within six months, that I was paying my way through college and didn't have $600 to pay the bill. THEY STILL INSISTED THAT I HAD TO PAY! Also Dr Machen REFUSED to speak with me about resolving the situation. Since this happened I have been sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. In the end a college student was forced to pay for a $600 bill. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR DOING THIS!

At one time I actually believe that I finally found the dentist office were I needed to be...a one stop shop. I even recommended my family and friends...some joined. Now I have to come to the realization that fast service means inadequate treatment. My permanent crown of less than 5 months has fell out. I have return on several occasions back to the office for them to correct an error, some leading up to need a root canal, which cost me dearly. I have had enough. The health of my mouth is too important to leave it in the hands of inadequate treatment procedures. This is not fair to the client to have to continue running back and forth wasting time, gas and money in order for the office to try to correct their errors.

While I was home on annual leave I had to have an emergency procedure. The staff was quick to accommodate me knowing I was only home for a short period of time. Horrifying I felt like a wanted to die literally. Dr. Scott Scallion could have killed me and I'm not over exaggerating. I was stuck with numbing meds over 13 times and it did not take. I could feel my tooth being pulled from my gums. I have nerve and gum damage. I filed a complaint with the Arkansas Medical Dentistry Board. If it wasn't for God and another dentist coming in grabbing my hand I would have died. I went to another dentistry and they said I should have been put to sleep for that type of extraction meaning an Oral Surgeon should have done the work and I had not been on antibiotics long enough. I told them I had only been on meds for 2 days... 5/20/2019 update regarding my post above. I am very afraid of going to the dentist and afraid even for my children. Dr. Aebersold DDS has been working with me in cleaning up Dr. Scallion and this LRFDC screw-up of my badly damage mouth. My nerves in my mouth are not back to normal and my remaining teeth after Dr. Scallion removed my wisdom tooth feel like they are dangling and I can't chew properly on that same side. After research and speaking with other Dentist, Dr. Scott Scallion shouldn't have never pulled my tooth because he is a Prosthodontics /cosmetic dental Dr only. To the LRFDC - please don't patronize me with the fake azz computer generated pretending to be concerned reply. I called and the more I called the less LRFDC could or would do for me....You all should be shut down expeditiously.

I'm a resident of Georgia and have never been a patient at this dental office. After reading a recent Facebook status of a childhood friend, I couldn't resist posting this review. Per my childhood friends status, the dentist at this location was a blessing. He extended his hours and waited for him to travel miles to get a tooth extracted that was very bothersome. My friend had a dentist from a different location cancel his appointment after he waited "2 hours" because of HER back pain...THAT'S ANOTHER STORY!!! Not only did this exemplify great customer service but it shows that the dentist at this location cares about his patients. Moving forward, I would definitely recommend this location to my family members remaining in the Little Rock, Arkansas area.

LRFD took excellent care of me. They worked me in quickly on two occassions when I had no appointment but was in need of immediate attention (performed expediently and well my Dr. Machen). Dr. Machen and Scallion were very professional, and Dr. Leal performed a flawless extraction on my 4 wisdom teeth, one of which was grossly impacted. I am recovering well with no complaints, and they are still very attentive to my questions and concerns.
