Terrible experience and will not be returning. I went in for a filling and was taken back just after my appointment time. However, after getting shots to numb my mouth, the dentist left to work on someone else. OVER AN HOUR LATER, an assistant came in and said it'll just be a little longer. More time passed, and then someone came in to say, "He's just going to do a quick exam, and then you." I should have protested, but she ran before I could say more than "okay." By the time they came in to do my filling, I had been sitting in the chair for an hour and 20 minutes since getting the shots. I told the dentist I had to get home to a baby, and after everything was all finished he said, "Hope your kid didn't get into any trouble." ...um, she's 9 months old, and you're an ass. Also the whole time they were doing my filling, the assistant repeatedly pinched my mouth with the tools, and I had to listen to their asinine conversation. Also, I've taken my kids there twice and hated the experience. They say they treat kids, but then they just try everything to get you to go to their pediatric dentist next door (which my insurance doesn't cover). If they say they accept kids, then they need to treat them and not spend the whole time acting like idiots that have never seen a child before. The first time, the dentist looked at my 3-year-old and was like, "Well I'm not a pediatric dentist, so I don't really know what to do here!" Um I assume you start by looking at his teeth, but I didn't go to dental school, so what do I know? I took my kids again recently and they pushed us into the other office and then complained that we "weren't on their schedule." They said they'd call with my oldest son's x-ray reports because they ran out of time in the office, and it's been over two weeks with no call. At the end of our appointments, they tried to get us to schedule our next appointments with the pediatric dentist. They also told me that my 6-year-old daughter needed teeth pulled and they'd need to use general anaesthetic; when I took her for a second opinion, the other dentist said she didn't need any of that. WE ARE DONE HERE!

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and willing to help and answer questions. Most recently I saw Dr. Khan and Vanessa, they were great! They made me comfortable and kept me informed about everything they were doing. I highly recommend this place.

Being brand new to the state of AZ from CA but a past Dental Assistant and Hygienist student. I was very honest about my expectations and obviously i am very aware of the capabilities in an office. So if they couldn't fulfill that they should have said that upfront. When i scheduled my daughter's wisdom teeth extractions I asked to be there when she woke up. Obviously.... However, she was wheeled outside on a very hot, above average, even for AZ day. I was not informed about her waking up nor about her coming out, until i saw her through the window. That way I could turn the car on for her especially in her drugged state, nope put her in a hot car that's fun. I was asked to sign a standard form stating I had already asked questions and was aware of the possible complications. BUT, to an oral surgeon whom I had not met yet. I refused to sign until I met him. Another obvious procedure would be signing a form in the proper order. They behaved irritated that I wouldn't sign it without reading it, hmmm. Nope, be irritated I dont care that is highly unethical! VERY unconcerned nonchalant attitudes throughout the office. Except 1 woman behind the desk. Very professional and kind, I am leaving her name out to not cost her backlash from the rest of the office. But this company should know they do not deserve her. Hygienist's are trained to scale teeth, a cavitron is not necessary with every patient. Especially a patient that has 2's and 3's for pocket numbers. Many other things occurred that only added to the awareness they should have. I am not sure if it is a AZ thing but for everything that is holy people think through the proper process and the order things should go in. Everything was done assbackwards...This is why you have a 3.2 In YELP people! I will share my experience with everyone I know. My entire family will not return. My family members and friends just moving here will also not go there. Management should take this seriously and want to improve patient service.

I had the pleasure of getting my teeth cleaned and whitened here @ Canyon. I got to meet 2 amazing women that did a fantastic job! VANESSA did my white, (Pro Bleacher!) and she was beyond any expectation I had. Vanessa was very knowledgeable, patient, easy to talk to, caring, descriptive, positive, super friendly, empathetic, and I knew I could trust her immediately! I would recommend her to anyone, I was that impressed. Thank you Vanessa!! JANET did the cleaning, lucky girl!! Lol. Janet was gentle, aware, friendly, caring, descriptive, and I felt I could trust her immediately as well. I have a huge fear of dentist! Went in for a broken tooth I went in was waited on immediately, taken back in a timely manner. The dentist was great was able to fix my problem same day. The office staff was friendly and professional I would recommend.

This place needs to be shut down. Unethical practices, especially with the hygienists. Many people with insurance will have access to a yearly cleaning for preventive maintenance. I have been to the dentist on grand and Bell for many years because I lived close by. Now that I moved further out, I decided to try a new place closer to my new home. I scheduled a cleaning that turned into a sales pitch that would probably frighten most people who just blindly trust people they see as medical professionals. Well I went through the exam by the hygienist and after the exam they explain what the feel needs to be done. First they asked if I ever had an exam like that, I said not that I am aware of, but I have had a cleaning a little longer ago than I should have... she then, very seriously explained to me that I needed what was called a planing and root scaling (deep cleaning) in all 4 quadrants - that insurance would not cover - and it would cost over $400. I asked them why, I had never had this issue before - I completely understand that things can happen quickly and I could need this procedure, but I wanted to know why. It was explained to me that I had gum disease, and without this procedure, I am only looking forward to bigger problems and that I would need to do cleaning like this for the rest of my life. Something felt off to me, My gut said something isn’t right here and I will absolutely need another opinion. I said nope, got up and told them plainly that something isn’t right and walked out. I scheduled another appointment that same day for my regular dentist that I was familiar with. Explained to them what I had just come from and asked them for a second opinion. Low and behold, they said we offer that deep cleaning, however, you do not need it. I said what about my gum disease... they said what gum disease? You do not have gum disease as of yet anyway. It disturbs me deeply to think a dentist office can say and do what Canyon did without some kind of repercussions. I do leave reviews sometimes, not often. I have posted good reviews when a place blows me away, and bad ones when they are completely out of line I make sure to post bad ones. The reason I am so adamant about this review is; it seems this place does this quite consistently. If you go here and they tell you something that seems like it doesn’t sit right, you’re probably right and should head out and get a second opinion like myself. I believe in ethical practices and frown heavily upon health professionals lying to make more $ off of unsuspecting people. I suggest you find another office and skip this one completely.

Office was fine. I didn't wait to be seen. However, the dentist (cant call him a doctor) was horrible! (so my review is based only on my experience and I am sure there are good doctors there, just be careful and don't agree for anyone, unless you are in great pain) . I know I have bad teeth genetically. And I have some experience with dentists and procedures like root canals, crowns, etc. I came in with some pain and another chipped tooth. He said he will not restore my tooth because it needs a crown. I know it needs a crown, but I am not doing it today! just fix it till I get a crown! He looked at my teeth and on couple of them said he is not sure he can do a crown at all! (my last doc. was ok doing these, however, I moved, and had to find another doctor) There were so many red flags about him that I just hope he will lose his license. He was all about money and nothing about patient! I just advise you all to do your own research before going for root canals/crowns! I know several examples where doctors were saying the root canal is necessary, and people didn't do it and had these teeth for a while. Of cause you can't do anything when it really hurts. Good luck and take care of your teeth.

I’ve had two crowns seeded here, and do my bi-yearly cleaning here as well. Dr. Shaw and Dr. K. were very nice and attentive to me when i had work done there! The front staff always gets me in without waiting too long, and the hygienists are friendly and nice! Highly recommend.

I would never recommend Canyon modern dentistry to any of my friends or family. My husband and I see a dentist twice a year every year, but I decided to change my dental plan to save money. Worst mistake ever. I have now gone back to my old dentist after trying to stick with them for two long years. Beware of their pricing and what they are telling you you need. Scammers

Sara was so thorough with my cleaning. She was very nice and gentle with my mouth. Her assistant Reyna, was friendly and quick while taking my x-rays. Dr. khakwani gave me lots of options with my treatment plan and the front office girls had a payment plan that fit into my finances.

Jordan was super nice and incredibly calming. She talked with me the entire time and made sure I was comfortable. Dr Shaw is a great as well! He worked quickly and efficiently and made sure I had no pain. I couldn’t be happier with my visit today. They were informative and helpful throughout the visit. I have to say, 5 stars from start to finish with Dr Darvishon. All the horror stories one hears from people about having to wear dentures, I was so scared to make the dicission. The gals at the front desk were so nice and really helped me understand each procedure. I returned many times for impressions and fittings. Dr. Darishon was so good with each visit. Very nice Dr. I highly recommend him if you need dentures. He was great. Once time for final denture fitting, I couldn't be happier. They did not even look like dentures and fit was awesome. I was told that I would have to return 3 or 4 times to get a good fit. I have not returned at all!!! They fit so well. I havnt even had to use fixident yet. I am so pleaded and greatful for a Dr. that took his time and all to make sure I would get a good fit. I want to thank you all at Canyon Ridge for your great smiles and outstanding performance. Could not be more pleased. You made getting dentures easier. And I have a beautiful smile today because of it. Thank you all again. MELANIE

If I could give them no star or a negative I would. Every one of these negative reviews is spot on. I started coming here about 3 years ago and loved it. Dr Mallory and Dr Khakwani are amazing and back then the office staff was great as well. They all would make you feel so comfortable. Unfortunately I had to have a root canal back then and I had nothing but issues. Constant irritation. I had it prepped and they left me in horrible pain for a week. They scheduled me for a “deep cleaning” and the hygienist popped the temporary off causing extreme pain, stopped the cleaning and they still billed me for it. Fast forward to now. I schedule an appointment for 7am right before Christmas because my crown popped off. I sit there until 8:15 with nobody coming in. Finally I am told that my regular dentist is running late(ya think) and that another dentist can see me. I see Dr. Castre and she is super nice and apologetic because I had sat there for over an hour. She looks at my x ray and says I need to have the tooth removed. When her quick 5 min exam is over I was sent to the front and told by the manager that I will have to pay over $3600 to get my work done. I started to question the bill and break stuff down. The manager got a full on attitude because I was taking uneccassary stuff off and splitting it between 2 years so I could utilize my insurance. Brought it to @ $170. It was ridiculous! Fast forward to today, my appoint is scheduled with me thinking I will owe $170, I get in and I’m told I owe $650. I ask why, I get an attitude, I am argued with about what is on the paper regarding the work needed and what I was told by the dentist. I get taken back and Dr. Castre comes in and scares me into getting the unneeded stuff. I tell her my complaint about the front and the billing and she makes a million excuses and justifies the situation. Owe and I’m told by her that if I was choosing to get the implant that she herself said was not necessary, she would give me the crown portion for free because my previous crown had gone bad. I walked out. I will never go here again! Never!!!!

canyon dentistry was a very excellent and awesome experience. I say this is because I am a very nervous person when It comes to going to the dentist from a previous bad experience with another dentist. canyon dentistry took very good care of me and talked me through every step and made me feel that I was in great care. before I knew it it was over before it started. thank you dr kalkwani and vanessa for making me feel safe and well cared for. I will definitely will be returning for any other dental work I will need in the future. thank you a very satisfied customer

Front office staff is welcoming! Had a cleaning done by Logan, she was amazing and very very gentle! Ailene took all my X-rays and was efficient and very nice! Also Dr Khakawani explained my treatment and made me feel at ease and not judged like I have felt in the past at other dental offices. Highly recommend this place!

Sitting her now waiting for a semi annual cleaning and ortho consult. Appt was at 2pm, it’s not 2:40. There was an insurance snafu, and the loud young lady, Deanna, advised the room that I’m covered for the cleaning but my insurance failed to verify. However my insurance was then verified with Delta at 2:05, and I’m still waiting. And I showed up early! This is utterly ridiculous. Their partners next door for children is a 1000x better. This office is horrible. If I have the opportunity to actually get my cleaning and consult, I’ll update. However, I’m tired of waiting and the service is awful.

I would never recommend them stay far away from them if you can Deanna was very argumental and demanding was suppose to have my wisdom teeth taken out and the day of the procedure they call me and tell me it was gonna be more money they just try to get more money out of you and then the dental hygienist Megan did the worst job ever cleaning my teeth she hurt my teeth and she only did it in 20 minutes my previous dental hygienist always took her time Megan did it in a rush and then they charged me $100 to keep my place for my wisdom teeth extraction and since they never took them out they said they would refund me and a week later still no refund don't ever go to this office worst experience ever

I had a choice to get a crown outside of the office or in office. I got in house. The crown was too short, made very thin, and the dentist never said a word. Staff are friendly, but the job wasn't.

I went 3 times, each time different Dr and Hygienist, asked where the previous people were they told me had all left the company. Every time I went in they said I needed extra work done first deep tissue cleaning, laser gum treatments, floride treatments..... then they push a separate in house savings plan so each cleaning visit ends up costing almost $300 not to mention one first visit was over 3 hours and the other two were both over 2 hours. Time is money ,do your research and find a privately owned and operated dentist not a big chain.

pleasant experience from beginning to end. Dr. Melander and Leah made sure I was comfortable and explained exactly what was happening during my treatment. The charges were clearly discussed before treatment was begun. 2nd visit was with the dental specialist Dr. Blevin. If only my other root canals were as smooth, I would not be as afraid to visit the dentist. She even took time to call the afternoon of my root canal to make sure I was ok.

Wait 2.5 hrs, scheduled a cleaning. Vefified and told weeks in advance that all I want is a cleaning. After sitting around and getting the X-rays I didn't want. I was told unfortunately we can't do the cleaning. Out hygienist is super busy. You should've told me in advance. So I didn't waste all that time. Not coming back. Sad because dentist seemed like an ok guy.

This is definitely my favorite destist I've ever been to. No one likes to go to the dentist, when I walk in, I just feel good. Everyone is so nice. They really make you feel taken care of. I've turned my family on to them. My grandchildren needed some serious work, and they bent over backwards to help my daughter out. That in itself, will keep me coming back. I also like the way they just give it to me as it is, no skirting around the truth. Absolutely love Sara, the usual girl that see. I'm currently typing this just after getting a tooth extracted. I just want everyone to know how good this place is. Oh, and Lisa. Lol, she's great at giving you the bad news( Cost ) with a smile. Unless I move far away, this will be my only dentist for the rest of my life

I have been coming to this dental office for 5 years. Due to medical reasons, I needed to have 4 root canals in 5 years. My latest root canal was the worst experience I have ever had. The customer service was abosultely horrible. I was on hold for over 10 minutes after my procedure, and when they did answer they had such additute. My whole right side of my face was swollen and was giving me a migraine from the pain. They prescribed medication, but then my temporary crown came off. So I had to call off another day of work to have it replaced and when I scheduled it they gave me such an additute like I was some inconvenience. When I went in with the endodontist, they forgot to add the gas to the treatment planned I signed for even after I asked to make sure it was in there. My lip and facial muscles were still swollen 7 days after my procedure and the endodontist said my temporary caused more harm then good. I will never be going back.

This dentist office is great. Everything went perfect from start to finish. The front desk verified my insurance coverage when I came in so there were no surprises. The hygienist was very gentle which I really appreciated. As well as my cleaning, I knew I was getting several crowns that day. The doctor did her exam and explained the entire procedure to me. My crowns were made in a short time and I walked out the door feeling great as I now had clean teeth and great fitting crowns. They were very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I will recommend this office to everyone.

Not sure why the even have on their website a EMERGENCY number. Called it and no one answers. Not even a voicemail. Left a detailed message on their site that I had a dental EMERGENCY. Had a snot of a receptionist tell me I needed a form to send me my x-rays, had them fax it it me, sent it back.. Nothing. Emailed. Nothing. Faxed twice. Nothing. Won't be recommending them to anyone that asks.

Had a initial appointment. Met with Vanessa for X-rays. She is great and knows her job well. Met with Dr Shaw. He is also great and very knowledgeable. Then I saw Janet the hygienist. She too is great. A real find for me plus the gals up front are very friendly. A great day at the dentist, now that’s amazing.
