This place is a bunch of scam artists. I wish I could give them 0 star.

Excruciating pain . Torture experience. Had teeth extracted months ago. Today woke up in the worst pain of my life. It looks like a bone fragment poking through the gum and the gum is infected. I regret going there. When he extracted the teeth it took him 20 minutes on one tooth. Did not give enough Novocain. I cried. The remaining teeth he extracted hurt also. Nobody should be in this kind of pain. I was better off with my teeth. I wish the student that extracted my teeth had this pain.

First visit and everything is wonderful! The people at the front desk are very nice! The people who helped in the parking lot are extremely helpful! The doctor who met with me is a real gentleman and last but not least was the young man who took my X-ray is going to be a wonderful dentist some day

Emilia Fichter

The service is extremely good for the price. Students are slow because they care a lot about their patients. People working at the front desk were kind to me. I was glad to hear the information doctors and students exchanged about my case. It was quite informative. Warm service.

I went there yesterday and I couldn't find anyone to help me figure out where to go the paperwork was confusing I spent 3 hours up there just to be told they couldn't work on me because of my insurance I will never ever ever ever go back there again the place is a bunch of ripoff artists

First, everyone was extremely kind. Was laid off from my job and had to come here to have a cracked tooth removed. It previously had a half done root canal job from a dentist I no longer frequent. I was in pretty bad pain and no dentist felt "comfortable" doing it. When I call they initially set my appointment out on April 3. I was in excruciating pain. The filling from the root canal had completely fallen out and it felt like a dry socket left a gaping hole. They bumped my appoint up to March 23 and I was extremely grateful though when I called it was the 21st so 2 more days of this pain and otc pain meds that didn't even take the edge off. The pain was so bad it made me vomit throughout the day. When I got there it's the most confusing set up. I went to 4 different desks before getting anywhere, good thing I showed up 45 minutes before the appointment. One clerk tells me I have an account from an address that I haven't lived at in over 15 years, I'm 26 - but when I called a few months back for a different issue they told me I had no account and that I as a new patient, have close to a 6 month wait (at the time I called) I ended up explaining myself over and over to different students and dentists. I signed so many times they kept forgetting what I had done already. Asked me about my health history 3 different times. I feel like my medical records should be viewed without problem since it's all the same institution. Nope, we started off as if I was a newborn. I was in so much pain I had been avoiding talking so you can see how this Went. The assistant joked about whether he ssked abojtbmy pain level. THEY NEVER DID!

If you want to be here for 3 hours for one cavity this is the place to go. After you get seen by the student they have to hunt down a real doctor and then they look at you. It takes forever to get anything done and they hurt you. These are students not real dentist that are doing the work! I will never return, this goes to the pediatric department too. They strap your kids down and traumatize the kids cause they HURT! Then after wana offer laughing gas like they didnt just poke around while my kid was screaming Dumb.

I have had countless appointments as I have HAD many issues that were all handled with nothing less then perfection!! I can't say enough about my dental student Peter Arvanitis, he has Excellent patient care, compassion, creativity, leadership, and always goes above and beyond!!! My last visit when I looked at Dr. Tarrazzi wondering why she was jumping with joy, moments later realizing it was because everything came back perfect for Me, now that is a doctor who cares! When I had my extractions Genevieve Romanowocz did a excellent job! Thank you all, I am so thankful for my brilliant decision to come to University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry!!!

Avoid this place at all costs. Constantly mess up then blame you for their mistakes. As another reviewer put it you will have better results doing your own dentist care. In the end my tooth is completely messed up and I was lied to multiple times about what my insurance would cover. No one will apologize to you about lying or causing you more problems. They just ask for more money. Yes if you are a faculty member you will get star students and better treatment but if you don’t have money you will be placed with students who have absolutely no idea what they are doing and have no empathy.

This is a teaching school and all direct treating doctors are the shaking hands of students. My kid was shaking all over after being in their treatment. Clearly, good dentists don't bother stay in academia

Very bad with my son (9 years old)'s experience there. My son went there for regular check and cleaning. It was advised to have orthopedics. So we took the advice, and had orthopedics there. After paying several hundred dollars on our own and painful experience for my son, his teeth didn't improve. The dentist even forgot to clean the left over chemical and made his teeth have much black left over which can't be removed. We took my son there second time for these much black left over. It was told the black left over will go away eventually. After half year, the black left over was still there.

The place is ok, not great for sure. People at front desk don't even let you finish a sentence before you are interrupted with a rude attitude. The dental student that my wife had was good and tried to find the best treatment for her, but the supervisors were rude, unapologetic, and always left my wife confused as to what was next. Finally, we called the clinic billing office because they don't accept our insurance and, unfortunately, we won't have the money right away to pay for the treatment in full, so she just answered without even letting us finish, that it has to be paid in full period. My wife wanted to keep going there because they have done some work in her teeth already, but we got fed up with their treatment towards us and us never being able to find an answer when we make a call.

Do NOT go to University of Michigan dental school for ANYTHING!! I cannot stress this enough. I am in the process of getting a bridge that was done incorrectly by a dental student, causing me excrutiating pain. The temporary bridge fell out after one day. They put the temporary back in only to have it causing me such pain, I could not eat or sleep. I called on a Monday morning and they said I would have to wait for my scheduled visit on Friday. It was 4 of the worst, painful days of my life. When I arrived on Friday, the bridge had to be redone by a "real" dentist. I have already had 21 hours in the chair (7 visits)and at least 6 more to go. As a cash patient, it did not save me any money whatsoever!!

I used to love the school of Dentistry, until they turned my daughter away for something that was their fault. She was scheduled for an appointment for silver treatment, a 25 dollar cost. At the appointment, we forgot about the money, and they made us leave after the front desk told us we could be billed and after they sat her in the chair for the treatment. Week later, my insurance sends me an explanation of authorization and THE PROCEDURE WAS COVERED! Second attempt comes, it's a Mon. She developed pink eye and went to urgent care that Friday. We call and leave a message Saturday saying we had to cancel. Next week, she received a dismissal letter. I called and questioned the dismissal, and was told it still stood despite me literally crying on the phone. I understand policy, but when children are invloved, how do you hold ones such as these?!...and what about trying to charge me for something outright that was covered? Unfortunately, since this is the only place that sedates and is covered by my insurance, I have no choice but to come back but I will never be back after the dental work is complete. People deserve better than what you are offering.

Every person who helped with a second opinion on needed dental work was fantastic. The end result is that I will get my teeth cleaned at the dental school in six months and U of M students will monitor my recession areas that they are worried about. My former dentist was trying to bully me in to getting a cap, replacing fillings and a procedure for recession areas. Zach Bennett is going to be a fantastic dentist!

My family have been going here for 5 years. In a teaching environment, things proceed very slowly. You are assigned a student who is constantly being coached and evaluated frequently. The students are not seasoned professionals. The good thing; no short cuts allowed. Every procedure is done by the book being checked over and over. I have been to private dentists and the bottom line rules. Since the work is being performed by students you are charged accordingly; a lot less than I private practitioner. If you are not able to devote 3-4 hours of your day at every visit, then go to a private dentist and be prepared for sticker shock. If you are on a fixed income, no insurance, broke or just want to receive quality and affordable dental care then this is the place for you.

The Dental Faculty Associates are wonderful, from the people at the desk, Maggie, Bliss and Vicky to the people who assist, Dennell, Christine and Shelby. The dental hygienists, Emily, Jordan, Pam, Marie, Christine, and Becca have all been kind to members of our family. We have seen many dentists here and most are top notch! Two of my children have had their wisdom teeth out in the graduate Wisdom Teeth Clinic, it went well!

Elizabeth Fisher

Do not go if you have a long drive. I drove across the state cause they are the closest place that would take my health care. I left with plenty of time ahead of me, but, because I got lost when i had to go to the bathroom, I was ten minutes late. I was turned away and i do not have extra cash to try and make it there again. If I could give them 0 stars i would. Parking it's self was a pain to get as well.

I was super skeptical about having my root canal done here as I had read the reviews and many of them aren't favorable. However, I have to say that experience was absolutely wonderful. Upon arrival, the check in process was smooth and simple and the paperwork was nominal. There was an awesome dental assistant named Danielle that catered to my every need and assisted every step of the way. Dr. Ryan Wilson performed my root canal and I am thrilled with the results. This doctor was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond what was expected. I received adequate numbing meds and didn't feel a thing and the Dr. was extremely thorough with after care and next steps.... I'm so happy that I went to U of D Dental School and I'm so happy I was able to save quite a bit of money too. Shout out to Brenda, Danielle and Dr. Wilson for a job well done.

My father has been a cancer patient at U of M for over 30 years, the medical school has saved his life....unfortunately the Dental School is not capable of dealing with the side effects the radiation and chemotherapy has caused to his mouth, teeth, and throat. The first issue was that they were unable to properly fit dentures, and then most recently they are billing him for an experimental prosthesis that he was unable to use and was told it would be saved until his throat healed enough to use this device. Honestly, I think they thought he would die before his throat healed to have this device reattached. Well, here we are a year later and the prosthetic is no where to be found yet they are insisting the bill be paid for this item. The doctor said from the beginning it was an experiment, that it may be too early, and that payment would be due when successful. The billing office and Dental Clinic do not work in cooperation. Calls are not returned, and the person who answers is never the person you need to speak to - they will have ________ return my call.....but no return call. The billing office calls and threatens, even though they have been told repeatedly the bill will be paid when the prosthetic is successfully in place. For cancer care U of M Medical is second to none, for complicated dental work - look elsewhere!

I have had very traumatic experiences with dentists in the past. I went to the UM Dental School for service after losing my dental coverage when I went back to school. They have been wonderful! I see someone new every time because they graduate so they cannot always provide continuity of care for semi-annual check-ups (but they try). Each of the 4 dental students I've had has been very gentle and kind. I get a great cleaning and have had 1 cavity filled - it was done very well. I've had problems with proper anesthesia in the past but not here. I don't ever worry that they are filling my teeth to fill their wallets the way I've experienced at other private practices - in fact, they've let some spots go, watching them, only to have the cavities heal! Without insurance, they've provided me with with a high quality low cost option to keep up on my dental health.

Leonard Treman

Prices are much higher then they will initially tell you. Initially I was told 70 dollars for an xray, then 30 for an exam and they could start doing cavities. I have two single surface cavities that I have been trying to deal with since march. So I took a day off in may and had the xrays done for 88 dollars. Next I got a call 3 weeks later from the student after calling them and they want an additional 100 for the exam before they can touch my teeth. Is such a dramatic price hike normal?

Doctor Ashton is without a doubt the Nicest Doctor I ever met, treated me with so much kindness and respect. Just too bad the reception and billing department are deplorable, I've never been treated so badly, talked to like baby, when they made the billing error. I still have a receipt that reads I've over paid almost $200!

My Experience here at the U of M Dental School has had its up & downs..But in the end was worth it The Faculty was Wonderful overseeing my Student I was set up with & My Student Did a wonderful job accomadating my anxiety & discomfort about coming to the dentist. I would recommend coming to the school to get work done

Everything started fine, got an appointment same day for my fiancé who has a broken tooth that needs to be extracted. When they took his blood pressure they said it was high and didn't understand why.. uhhh because he's in pain!!! Everyone's blood pressure is high if they're in pain. Another student came to verify his bp and told him he should've had a stroke or a heart attack from his bp being so high. Seriously?!?! I understand these are students but there's a way to say things like this in a more tactful manner. They didn't even give him antibiotics to help with the swelling or anything. We drove 45 minutes to come here and I highly doubt we'll be back.

daniel garman

My fiance was here today and the older nurse from the patient admitting clinic, room 1390, was incredibly rude and disrespectful to us, me especially...she made me wait outside, yet my fiance can't speak she's in so much pain. So the lady keeps coming out to ask me questions instead of allowing me to sit in the room. The referring dentist didn't send the referral, so she came out and chided me like a child for not bringing our own copy, and complained saying we went to the wrong place and should have went to emergency upstairs...we've talked to about 5 people to get here and we've told all 5 the same exact thing, "she has a broken lower left molar that has grown into her jawbone at the root. She needs it extracted, she's in intense pain, and the hospital and dentist said it needs to come out and referred us here"...they directed us to where we are now, so why is this lady standing in the lobby talking to me as if I'm a child when if she'd stop staring me down with those judge Judy eyes and be polite and nice she'd get the answers she needs without upsetting the patient. She refuses to update me to my fiance's status even though my fiance has texted me and said there is an empty chair in her dentist's cubicle...she threatened to make us come back since our referral wasn't just the way she wanted it. This woman alone has single handedly ruined our time here and no matter the level or quality of service my fiance receives from the ACTUAL dentist, we won't come here again.

So I visited this beautiful place today and I experienced good service and lots of care and a smile from everyone. I did read all the comments And views from the negative people regarding this place . I was very concerned not to go and to cancel my appointment. But when I went I was so glad I did ...no matter how far it was it made me feel like iwas home. So for all the people who likes to put out negative Reviews ... all I can say No one is perfect so stop acting like you are . I got treated with respect and love thank you very much Doctor and staff . I just visited this place again on May 29th and the service got even better. Thank you to all the doctors that help me and the nurses and of course the reception I am very serious they took good care of me and for the people who write bad reviews I don't know maybe you are just stressed out. I'm sure I'm sure this is the best place to go to to get help for your teeth

I've been trying to get in contact with someone to schedule me an appointment for over a month, yet, no one will give me a call back or pick up the phone. Its the only place in my area that removes impacted wisdom teeth. I already have a referral and I cant just walk in to set an appointment because even though its the closest in my area, its still about 40min drive from me and I dont own a vehicle.. My wisdom teeth are causing me headaches and I've been eating soft food for 3 weeks now witout much food option and already lost 22lbs in 3 weeks. Thanks for such a crappy everything.

I would give them negative 5 Stars if I could! Horrible! They screwed up everythingggg they touched. They were cruel to my child. Now I'm supposed to make a four hour drive there again so the can re-cement a bracket they placed YESTERDAY?!? And they won't refer him to somebody closer to me to reglue those brackets. Probably because they don't want another dentist to see what they've done to my child. This is exactly how you get people to never ever go to a dentist again.

Pamela Voorhees

No, do not waste your time. I am disabled and live on under a limited income. They wanted 2,500. And wouldn’t do it without a metal Screw. In my mouth.. that takes 6 months to heal?! No way! Pure waste of time!

Victoria Joy

Considerate & Professional service & great work by students! It takes time to participate by all parties - but that's what it's all about!

I have twice been there for my wisdom tooth extraction and restoration. They did a great job in both occasions..

Might as well do you own dental work in your garage you'll get better service and won't have to wait the standard 3 month wait to just get an appointment. Also this place just didn't feel safe. I only had a consultation which was enough to scare me off but all the rooms where they're preforming surgery are wide open not even a curtain. Then in the room behind me also wide open they where washing surgical tools. All my other doctors and specialist are U of M ones and it's been nothing but amazing. This place needs be looked into if not shutdown.

LaVerte Ronn Oneal Minter x

Best place so far that I've been to. the students do a great job and the Doctors that watch them teach them the least painful way to get the Job done. keep up the good work U of M.

Horrible. Sure students and some staff are pleasant enough. But God help you if they screw you out of a no show no call appt themselves by forgetting to put it in their computers that you cancelled an appointment well in advance! They kick you out anyway and dealing with Anne from the 3rd floor is worse than having teeth pulled! She's an absolute nightmare and rude inconsiderate person with no customer service skills! Wish I could rate this as a negative star review! I have an serious emergency situation and they just gave me a help line number in hopes of finding anyone else to do what they could get over and done with. Shame on you! Hope you never experience this kind of pain!

Do NOT go to these people.... you cannot understand a word these people say... you are NOT dealing with typical american language all these people are from different countries.... You can BARELY understand what they are telling you. plus they try to get you to get EXTRA dental work done even though you do not need it. Plus they tell you, you have gum disease and try and persuade you to look into dentures (even though its been confirmed by dentist that my gums were healthy) The receptionist in the oral surgery department, is rude as hell. After hearing 1st hand, seeing how the Dentist overseeing are refusing to update their stuff aka detal work from the stonhenge days, and reading reviews sounds like those retail giants who care only about a profit, not the care, proper procedures to ensure wellbeing, and act all retail gives me a reason never to come here, especially for only 2 teeth that need pulling a crowm and rest just need cleaning and porcelain procedure my dentist does which is affordable and state of the art, not these quacks who would do a cleaning, pull and refuse latest methods, but rather work like back in the day, newsflash its 21st not 18th century update and make it feel comfortable and safe, calming atmosphere not a mental asylum.

I have never been disappointed, I have been extremely pleased with my care at University of Michigan School of Dentistry . They are more thorough than any dentist I've seen in my life. You are helping a student, you're getting a second opinion from the professor. After your initial visit, you are set up with an individual plan of action. For people like myself without dental insurance, payment plans can be arranged so you're able to have all your dental needs met. Most people don't understand the importance of taking care of your teeth and gums. Neglecting your teeth can cause many health problems. Once you find a student that you are comfortable with you are able to see the same person every visit, unless they graduate. They will then select someone to take over your care that they feel would fit with you and your specific needs . I could go on and on about my excellent care. I highly recommend U of M School of Dentistry to my friends, family and anyone looking for a dentist. I am sad, the student who's been taking care of me over a year and a half is graduating soon. My heart felt thanks and gratitude to Evans Sachs, I wish him the best of luck starting his career. The world has a wonderful dentist coming to a practice near you.

I would give zero stars if I could! I’m absolutely disgusted with this place. My mom went there to get some teeth pulled out. They were very unprofessional and were blatantly making fun of her. On top of that, they didn’t numb her mouth properly and she felt the entire procedure. For a top rated school, it fell short on so many levels. The follow up appointment was no better. There were no apologies for the awful experience and nobody was professional enough to admit their wrong doing. A complete lack of empathy, sincerity and basic human kindness is the only things experienced here.

I was very lucky to have had a very positive experience so far. My second visit got around to putting composite on one of my chipped teeth by a very experienced student named Gabriel. It's his last year. He has done a better job on me than most of the dentists I've been to in the past that charged an arm and a leg. I still need a cleaning and other teeth fixed and hopefully sometime in the future wisdom teeth extracted, so far I am so happy with him and his work ethic. Right away we clicked and the anxiousness I had disappeared. He will have a very good future in dentistry for sure. I actually look forward to going back. He was also very fast in his work, I did not expect for it to be that simple because when you sign paperwork, they let you know that it will take a VERY long time and also depending on what your issues are. I wish I had come here sooner to be honest. Thank you Gabriel for making my experience a positive one and being so friendly! While I have had the fortune of my insurance covering the costs, I understand what it's like to pay a lot of money out of pocket especially when you go to the school in the first place due to dental care being a luxury and so expensive elsewhere. Try to remember you are paying very little compared to what a dentist that has been practicing for many years would charge. The students have to do an extra good job or else they get a bad grade, so they actually put more effort into their work than many dentists who have been running a practice for years. You can also ask to set up a payment plan so you don't end up paying everything at once. I can see some people have had a bad experience here, and it makes me feel bad for them, but a lot of the reviews seem so over-dramatic like claiming that their equipment is from "the stone age" and that it's like "an asylum where they strap you down to the chair" If you are going to spew such drivel, you deserve a horrible time and treatment. Also complaining about students not being actual dentists is insulting and DID YOU NOT GET THE MEMO THAT THIS IS A SCHOOL AND THAT IS HOW THEY LEARN? BY PRACTICING ON YOU, THE PATIENT, WHICH YOU AGREED UPON SIGNING THE PAPERWORK! Go to a "real" dentist then and pay thousands of dollars out of pocket versus a couple hundred. Soooo entitled. Of course it can hurt and it's not always a pleasant experience, but you're not making it any better by being hysterical and lying in your reviews. They use top of the line equipment and it's a very sterile, comfortable, and safe environment. I would also recommend being polite to the students and being calm with them. I can understand that it is very hard for a lot of people, but you can at least fake being a nice person and when you leave you can go and be abusive elsewhere. They are under a lot of stress and pressure as it is and it would help both the student and patient if the patient didn't lash out. I have witnessed patients yelling at their assigned student for not being on time because the student had a serious and invasive procedure to complete and was running behind because of it. Sometimes it takes a little longer to work on a patient to achieve the desired results! Being mean and demanding just adds even more pressure on them and you wouldn't treat a doctor like that! Try to be considerate and treat them like you treat your own doctors. Just because they can't kick you out for being rude and for yelling at them, doesn't mean you should do it. It makes the dental students resent you and creates tension for both during the time together. Just be nice, it shouldn't be that difficult, but it seems like it is for a lot of people. I am only leaving a review defending them like this because I can't stand liars and I have been treated like garbage my whole life where I worked and blamed for things that were out of my control. Get a grip and grow up. This is not my real name on here due to everything being too public on the internet so if the staff want to look me up and/or respond, I was there on July 23 at 9AM. Thank you :)

I had treatment for 3.5 years here after being told my original plan would take 2 years. It seems like since they are students, they have to try EVERY TYPE OF APPLIANCE on your mouth... I had rubberbands, springs, headgear.... everything. And still didnt fix my overbite. They said it was "looking good". After 3.5 years of BS I told them enough is enough and to take them off. They also made me insert my spacers myself. Oh, also I had to go in because my gum appeared to have an infection, and my student orthodontist kept claiming it probably "wasn't an infection" but since over the phone I said there was puffyness, pus, and it hurt. She finally told me to come in and turns out I was right- I had an infection. A spacer went up INTO my gums. I dont care if they are students and are "learning", it's absolutely ridiculous to do this to kids. 2 years later and I'm not getting new invisalign/braces at a fraction of the cost. And done by ACTUAL professionals. I do not recommend going here. Save you time, save your money, and save your gas! U of M sucks!

Bobbie Stevens

Patient care??? NOPE! It's all about the money!!!!! After three 500 mile round trips, three hours in the chair each time, serving as a very "interesting" patient to a grad student. . . I was cancelled unceremoniously after it was made evident that I was denied treatment in the clinic because of insurance refusal to pay for original implants and prosthesis. All because of Nasopharyngeal Cancer care at U of M hospitals (which was superb!!!!!). Insurance companies insisted it was dental. Doctor insisted that it be billed as medical which was never done.

I took my son to the Motts oral surgery Dept, which I'm being told is also a part of the School of Dentistry. My son had a abscessed tooth evaluated. The doctor and NP was very professional and willing to listen to my concerns regarding my son's special needs and sensitivity to medications. The ladies at the front desk during checkout was NOT professional or helpful !! I called the Motts oral surgery center after leaving the appointment to get more information regarding my son's OR scheduling and insurance approval information. A lady named Jennifer or Ann talked to me in a condescending rude, and pushy unprofessional way when I question their procedure process as far as surgery and appointment scheduling. She seemed confused and unsure of the details of my son's treatment plan. I tried to explain to her why the the doctor was advising that my son be scheduled in the OR. The lady talked to me as if I was lying to her. She said a rude and condescending tone that she had to consult with the doctor or nurse practitioner to verify what I was saying to her. When she got back on the phone with me she then said that I was correct , but however if my insurance doesn't approve the procedure for the OR I will need to bring my son to the Med Inn Center for the procedure because the nurse practitioner said that he would have to go over to the Med Inn Center. I questioned why because that's not what I was told by the nurse practitioner during my son's appointment. I was told I could bring him back to the oral surgery center. The lady at the front desk said in a condescending rude tone, " because that's what they prefer and that's how it will be!!" She was rude unprofessional and unwilling to answer my questions regarding the med Inn Center. She said she did not know anything about the centers scheduling or procedures. I decided to call the Med Inn Center because I need more information before I allow my son to be seen there. I talk to a lady at the med Inn Center and she was wonderful!! She was way more professional, friendly and helpful than the secretaries at the Motts oral surgery center. She advised me that doctors from the oral surgery center at Motts come to the Med Inn Center once a month to work on children. I feel The ladies at the oral surgery center should know this, but did not offer me this information and was unwilling to give any information, and also very unprofessional and rude. They also tried to give me Medical advise and told me not to contact my insurance. This is unacceptable for a secretary to think that she has the authority or the right to speak to patients this way and to give medical advice because these ladies have no credentials behind their name. They are nothing more than a secretary and scheduler. If you take your child to the Motts Children's Oral Center be prepared to deal with this type of unprofessional treatment from the secretaries at the front desk. I would like to mention that one secretary at Motts oral surgery Dept (Jessica) was much more knowledgeable and professional and helpful during the scheduling of my son's appointment.

I wish I could stay in Ann Arbor to continue my treatment from U of M dentistry. I was so lucky to meet a bunch of great people here. Becca, thank you so so much to cleanse my teeth and made me not that afraid of seeing a dentist that much. And for Dr. Schneider, Dr. Wang, Dr. Giannobile and Dr. Bauer, they are all really nice people and caring about their patients. I really appreciate that you guys had been working so hard to try to save my bad tooth after I told you I didn't want an extraction. So sad that I moved away and had to try my best looking for a good dentist as each of you guys. And by the way, if someone needs to transfer your records, go downstairs the place called central record department and they will help you to transfer all you records. They are gonna written down everything in details during you treatment which impressed me a lot. And the lady at the front desk, even though I don't know her name. She helped us a lot by scheduling our appointments before we leave and we really appreciate her way of greeting us and being so helpful to us each time. You guys are the best!

I called 3 different dentists in my area with no sucess when U Of M Dental College was sugested to me. The lady who answered my phone call was absolutely wonderful. Very kind and professional. When I go there, again, the staff was wonderful and check in was a snap. The dental students and instructors are very personable and put you at ease right away. I recommend U OF M dental college! I had a tooth extraction this morningbon 10\23\17 and I had a Student Named Shin( last name) who is going to be a brillant dentist when he graduates. Everything from his bedside manner to his technique was absolutely perfect. Dr. Ortiz supervised and everyone was wonderful and very professional. It definitely put me at ease. I am healing quite well and I hope I get the same student for future extractions. My insurance covered everything as well. I was in and out before 11 AM. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.

They claim they give you a discount on cost but they really charge an arm and leg for everything. Definitely not worth the trouble.

The wait is long. It takes forever to get in and out, hours. The work and the people are great. Prices are very low.

U H S provides a great service to staff and students. Centrally located on main campus at U of M.

It's the worst, depending on who you get as a dental student/ oral sergeon/ etc, In December I had a tooth extraction, used "laughing gas" for the first time and things went quite well. Recovery was longer than expected. Today I got another tooth extracted and it wad HORRID! while I paid for laughing gas, and the machine was on my face, it did NOT enter my body. The oral sergeon pushed so hard on my jaw (after explaining to her I have a serious condition and can not tolerate this)... I cried through the whole thing which is not like me at all. The attending real doctors kelt correcting the students but they quit listening as soon as she left the room. Lastly they totally forgot to give me pain meds when I left. Thankfully some random guy going down the hall cared enough to hand me some IBU samples. Karly (I think) was the student causing most of this disaster. I wish she would have asked for help. I am in so much pain. Also if the past is any indication, I won't be able to speak for a very long time.... meaning bad news for my work... which could mean I loose my house. All this because I tried to save a few bucks at U of M clinic. One of the worst choices ever!!

The best advice I can give regarding the Dental Faculty Associates is that they are out to swindle you for as much money as possible! Pre-determination estimates are randomly processed with different dentists until the provider who charges the highest fees is established as the contracted rate. As a physician who works in medicine, this is completely unethical and fraudulent. Therefore, BUYER BEWARE! Make sure you get an estimate WITH THE PROVIDER WHO IS GOING TO TREAT YOU BEFORE you proceed. And even then, know that they will add an additional 30% to the bill. Which is why I advise all my friends and colleagues AVOID this place if specialty work, ie root canal, crown, core and biopsy, needs to be done.

The students and faculty are very nice and listen to what your want done so that you get the work that you want done and can afford. I definitely recommend this dental school as an option for people who do not have dental insurance.

Place is the worst wish i knew the residents name I blast it all over the internet. He is the type of Dr. we need less of not teaching more people to be like him. He should never be teaching.

Was skeptical (because I don't like dentists in the first place) but they are slowly winning some of my confidence. They treated my wife well, were flexible with scheduling, reasonable with prices but too demanding on payment, carefully professional in their approach, and technically sound. My son is next...we'll see....

Here they offer you much better service and quality than in a private clinic

Do no harm my ass. I have 2 dry sockets and teacher/surgeon looked at 4 days ago and said it will only suck for 2 to 4 weeks. Nothing done no script no packing of wounds and its upper and lower jaw.

The initial intake process took a long time to fill out the paper work. However once that was complete everything else went smoothly.

For wisdom tooth clinic. May update on experience after I can finally get an appointment or talk to someone who can actually schedule one. Called several times throughout the day on the number several other departments gave me as a direct contact during business hours and always the answering machine. The other dentistry numbers always pick up, but can’t help me. So a little, no very, annoying.
