I've been terrified about the dentist since a bad experience with another dentist clinic when I was in middle school ( 14 years ago). I decided to give Midtown Dental a try after reading great review. Candice and Dr. Renee are WONDERFUL!!! I cannot thank them enough for the care they provide. After my first exam, I was scheduled to come in for a root canal and crown (my nerves were on edge). The procedure was three and a half hours long, but I felt like I was only there for 20min. I got to watch any show/movie of my choosing during the procedures. I can now say that I like going to the dentist. Again, Candice and Renee are the BEST!! I highly recommend going to their practice.

I have been a patient of Anchorage Midtown Dental since they first opened up almost ten years ago. I was nineteen when they first opened their practice. I was formerly on my father's private insurance, but since I am older now, I no longer have that benefit. I always loved their staff and recommended them to EVERYONE I know with dental needs- literally just last week. Today when I went to schedule an appointment I was turned down because they no longer accept Medicaid patients. Now that they are a thriving business, they no longer feel the need to maintain good doctor/patient relationships. I am sorely disappointed with the practice I have supported for almost 10 years, and completely perplexed at their lack of appreciation for their consumers. If you want a business that values its patient's business, I don't recommend Anchorage Midtown Dental.

I love that Midtown Dental is open on Saturday’s. I work 8-5 Monday through Friday and find that Saturday’s work best for me and my family. I have a lots of work done here and have been treated amazing by my Dr. and her assistance. The front seat girls were super sweet and kind called me by name even if I stopped in and hadn't called. I was absent for a good 5 months I would say, from being there regularly, called for appointment and was treated by new employees who aren't not as friendly and kind but was still seen and enjoyed the new doc I seen. Some changes and new employees have been made and Is say need some work in the costumer service and talking quieter about other patience. So all in all give and take on my opinion. I just hope they work on that a bit more and could be great again. God Bless

Very friendly staff, poor pain management. I told them it takes a lot to get me numb and that it wears off quickly. Apparently they didn’t believe me because I had to ask for more novocaine 3 times. And feeling started to return before they were done. Not just the first time I was there either, but all three times I went, I had to ask them for more and feeling started to return before they were finished. I even asked for gas (first time I’ve ever used it) and they were so stingy with the dosage, even after I asked them to turn it up several times, that I demanded my $90 back because it made no difference at all. Bottom line: It all hurt the whole time in the chair and for several days after each time. Not just a little irritating pain either. I can’t sleep. This hurts like hell. I’m home from my third visit and am in SIGNIFICANT pain. I’m realizing this is why I stopped going to the dentist for 12 years. But again, all the staff is super cool. I just don’t think they actually listen to their patients, at least not to this one. I was only supposed to need two appointments, but my temp crown broke. After getting it replaced and being sore for two days, it fell off completely so I had to go back a third time. This third time has been the worst so far. They got me in quickly, which I’m grateful for and they just went ahead and put the permanent crown on, but they wouldn’t have if I hadn’t asked them to check if it was ready. Again they had to numb me up several times, again I told them I could still feel. Again it wore off before they were done. Again, I’m sore as hell but this time it’s worse. They did something to two of my other teeth apparently because now they hurt too.

I asked if I could meet him, just thinking I would introduce myself. Not only did he meet with me, but he took a cat scan of my problem tooth and gave me a full consult on the spot... on his day off. My daughter has seen 2 dentist and an endodontist in less than 2 days. Midtown Dental was the last one we seen but we saved the best for last. They not only got her in right away, Dr. Jensen made sure she wasn’t in pain so when he went over her treatment options she could not only make an informed decision, he also walked her through each process, the cost of process, and future issues that may arise for each scenario . Dr. Jensen gets 5 stars just for his compassion. Dental care in Alaska is not cheap. Compared to the others we seen and called, Midtown was not as expensive and to be honest the level of care was stellar!! He even told her since she decided to go with procedure that she could come in before closing time to get another numbing shot to make sure she could sleep tonight and make it through to her next appointment. Hello I normally don’t do reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to share my experience, it was on a Saturday in 2018 before a long holiday and the night before my top plate denture literally spit in half and crumbled, I was scheduled to get on a plane and leave to work before they reopened post holiday. I was devistated but they called there denture repair man in on his time off this fellow was able to restore my plate to its original configuration and made me whole. The relief I was feeling was just incredible, I have never been more happy to buy the staff lunch on this day. I highly recommend Mid-Town Dental with your oral apparatus concerns. E.R.Roehling

Jackie at the desk made me feel very comfortable about the options to alleviate pain during any procedure I would eventually receive. Not only was this my 1st visit, I was a walk-in (no appointment). Process was so easy and quick. Then I met my friend from D.C. who made me feel at home as we talked about football, her mom, my mom, and the live bears on the projector screen. You kind of forget you are in a dentist office. Dr. Guy Burk walks in just as friendly and down to Earth. Reassured me there would be pressure but no pain and even gave a signaling in case I did feel pain. Never had to use the sign. HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to ANCHORAGE MIDTOWN DENTAL CENTER. Family business with a family atmosphere. I won't forget to bring that T-shirt either. LOL Thanks to the entire Team.

Dr. Burke is an exceptional dentist! I had to have a root canal done after hitting my front tooth. I got in with his office right away and the procedure was quick and painless. I was extremely happy with the service I received and his staff made me feel extremely comfortable during the duration of my procedure. Candace at the front desk is amazing and thoroughly explained my treatment needing to be done with a breakdown of the cost and what my insurance was expected to pay so I wouldn't be shocked with a bill later on. The office is beautiful, prices are fair and quality of care is second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Burke!

I have major dentist phobia/anxiety. Not only were the staff gentle, reassuring, and accommodating, but they actually let me watch Netflix during my exams to keep me happy and distracted. Their hours and location are all super convenient too. I highly recommend them!

Nice folks. Some equipment issues with Xray and camera system. Biggest complaint is they expect me to pay my copay now for upcoming cleaning and fillings- and that appointment would be 3 weeks away. I have no problem paying at time of service but not in advance. They say it's to cut down on no show appointments. I work in health care and I don't charge my patient's weeks in advance of their care.
