After a bad dental experience many years ago, I became very anxious about any dental work and found myself putting off even routine cleanings. I read the wonderful reviews about Dr. Gooch and his staff and decided to make an appointment for myself. From the moment I walked in the door, every person I came in contact with was friendly and welcoming. Kelley at the front desk is so sweet and accommodating. She gave me a tour of the office which really helped to put me at ease. Courtney was my hygienist, and she provided me with an outstanding experience. She was so gentle and explained everything that she was going to do before proceeding. My comfort was her top priority, and she really went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience. Dr. Berry and his assistant, Ashle, were very friendly and really took their time with me, never appearing rushed and making sure that I was comfortable. Throughout my whole visit, I received the best care from each person I met. Thank you all so much for providing me with such a positive experience. I am truly grateful!

I have been to a lot of dentists but Dr.Gooch and his team stand above the rest! Sadly I went in with a busted tooth and I was expecting the process to be one headache after the next. Ended up being a smooth process and I was educated on every step and the why behind it. I was also always provided costs so NOTHING was a surprise. I have gone to the same dentist my entire life in GA before moving to Birmingham. I was referred to Gooch Family Dental and it was the best decision to make them my new dentist! Wonderful staff all the way around! From entering the office you’re greeted by sweet Ashlyn, given a full facility wide tour that shows you the Rosemary Beach theme and exquisite customer service from beginning to end! The waiting rooms are spa like with soft music & white noise to privacy as well as the serene tv screens. You’re greeted by your hygienist to go over any concerns or issues you may be having and then taken to your own private cleaning area. Everything goes seemlessly from there! Sarah was my hygienist and she was absolutely wonderful. She was gentle and thorough and ensured I was in great care! Breath of fresh air and was gentle start to finish! Massage chairs, heated seats, and blankets to accommodate any client! Dr. Andrews came by to ensure everything checked out perfectly and I was all set until my next visit. I can’t wait to go back!! Thank you Gooch Family Dental for providing a spa like and serene experience!

I was absolutely blown away by the compassion, knowledge, and level of care I received today at Gooch Family Dental! From the moment I stepped foot through the door, I felt at ease with the entire staff. I have had several horrible dentistry experiences in the recent past that have left me terrified to ever return to the dentist, but a pressing issue meant that I had to suck it up and find somewhere new to try. My hygienist, Michelle, was absolutely phenomenal and very knowledgeable about ever single issue I questioned her about. Dr. Barry was very professional and made an effort to understand a little about me and what concerns I had. We planned my next several phases going forward and I left feeling like the weight of the world had been removed from my shoulders! You MUST give them a go! You will NOT be disappointed! It is the cleanest, most advanced, top-notch facility I have ever seen. They are like no other!

It's strange to see so many good reviews. I believe this place is really all about making money. They diagnosed my wife with 3 cavities and wanted to do fillings. Thank goodness she went to another dentist for a second opinion. No actual cavities. I would recommend an office that is not going to con you out of your money.

This is a gorgeous facility with top notch equipment but it’s clear very quickly how they pay for all of it. They do everything possible to nickle and dime their patients suggesting very expensive and questionable treatments for marginal conditions. It’s disappointing because the place could function well without the unethical behavior.

I want to start off by saying I use to hate the dentist with a passion. I grew up in a small town where there wasn't a large variety of dentists to choose from. My family dentist was nice but if you went in to see him he would make you feel so guilty for having a cavity. It always felt uncomfortable and which is one of the reasons I would always avoid the dentist. I was referred to Dr. Goochs office and all I could think about was my old dentist and how I was going to dread going to see him. The moment I walked in the front desk girl had a smile and said you must be Stephen. Every person I encountered there had a smile on their face and said hey to me. I could tell everyone there loved their job. I saw Dr. Gooch and we got a plan together of what needed to be done. Dr. Warren is also amazing she did my crown. I felt no judgment from anyone there I loved the atmosphere. After it was done I went home with some pain medication that didn't help with the pain. I called them and they asked for me to come in for a steroid shot and I was happy to do anything to get the pain to stop. I went in and Dr. Gooch gave me the shot. They are going to be closed for New years and Dr. Gooch told me if I was still in pain during new years to call him and he gave me his personal cell phone number. Dr. Gooch and his staff are amazing at every thing they do. If you are looking for a dentist I highly recommend Dr. Gooch, and his staff.

Throughout the years, I’ve tried multiple dentists and have a HUGE fear of them in general. Until now, I’ve never found a dentist sympathetic to my fear of dental work or one that took the time to treat me like a person instead of just the person who’s teeth they’re filling. Dr. Berry and both of the assistants I’ve had have gone above and beyond, being both assuring in their profession and personable. Recently made a switch from a Dentist in another county where I used to live. I had seen my other dentist for over 15 years and hated to switch (for familiarity/comfort/trust reasons) but the drive was just too far. I picked Dr Gooch from a referral here on Facebook and I must say....I have never had such a pleasant experience as I did/do here. I had a small dental procedure a few weeks ago and went back today for a cleaning. Michelle was my dental hygienist and she was GREAT!!! I have never had so much fun at a dental visit! Dr. Gooch is a great dentist. The administrative side of his office is not so great. They refuse to file claims to secondary insurance, instead sending statements of service to the patient (customer) to figure out an file for themselves. We will be going to a different dentist, as many others will happily file primary and secondary insurance claims.

I have personally had bad experiences with dentists and I had a dental office drop my son as a patient because I canceled 2 appointments (the first was when my dad had a chemo appt I was unable to reschedule as I took him and the other was when he passed away). So I am a little wary when trying somewhere new. I had seen Gooch Family Dental when driving down 119 and thought we would give it a try. I was simply BLOWN away from the first moment I walked in the door! They gave us a tour, offered us water and snacks, and they even gave my son a personalized card and gift for his first visit. Michael had to have some unexpected treatments today and they were so kind and knowledgeable truly putting both my son and myself at ease! The dental hygienist was wonderful, kind, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I didn’t speak with Dr. Andrews but my son only had positive things to say about him. I know without a doubt not only will this be where he goes but where I will start going myself. I hadn’t even left and had already told my sister she needs to make her an appointment as well since she was looking for a new dentist. Thanks for being a great dental office and helping to ease my son’s anxiety as well as mine!

Gooch dental is awesome. I broke a tooth last night and called at 7am. I was able to go right In and see Dr WarRen and her assistant Ashley. They had to do a crown and started work right away. As I was waiting for my Crown to be made, Rhonda cleaned my teeth as I was past due for a cleaning. I had eclxcellent fast painless dental work. I highly recommend Gooch Family Dental.

Dr. Berry did a great job, unfortunately I cannot say the same for his staff. Brittney his office financial handler was untruthful and rude. We were quoted one price and charged another. When I called to ask why, she was rude and could not explain why. Absolutely not business reasoning, and to top it off when asked for her name she stated it and hung up on me. Great doctor, really needs to reevaluate his support staff.

I can't say enough about Dr. Berry, Dr. Gooch and their amazing staff. We've got four kids plus me and my husband so it's difficult to get us all in at the same time because we are involved in sports and community things. So, we go two at a time and they always accommodates us the best they can. From Kelley at the front to Ashle that helps Dr. Berry everyone is great. Very knowledgeable, very gentle and caring especially for the ones who are a little scared to visit the dentist. I went in on 1/12/18 and so Dr Berry for a cleaning and also discuss options about crowns. First, staff is very friendly. Dr Berry focus more on doing a crown that day. They recommended different options but really didn’t offer what I could afford at the time. Plus, on top that I never got my teeth cleaned. At the end I payed a co- pay just to talk about a crown. Very Very unsatisfied!

I've been seeing dentists regularly all my life. I can honestly say my experience with Gooch Family Dental was the best I've ever had. The front staff was warm, friendly and quite outgoing. My hygienist was Michelle and I've never had a more attentive one. She explained things to me that I had never understood before. From explaining the X-Rays to the actual photos of my teeth, it was a great learning experience. I also got a sticker for being a good brusher! When Dr. Gooch came in, he and Michelle both engaged me in discussions about my teeth. Before examine, he took the time to explain what he was looking for and how he would be doing his exam. I've never had that from a Dentist. When I left the front staff again was quite helpful and even made sure I didn't have any remaining questions. My wife is already a patient, but were sending our kids next week.

Absolutely fantastic. I was quite nervous considering I had not been to the dentist in quite a while, but the entire staff made me feel completely welcome. Kelly greeted and gave me a quick tour of the office which was great and also helped take a bit of the nervousness away.. They gave me a very lovely welcome package which includes a personalized card.. Amazing I thought. There was also a slight problem with my insurance which Paige and two of the ladies from the front were awesome about handling. The actual technical part of the visit was very smooth and quite nice considering the hiatus I had taken. Dr. Warren was awesome. Along with Dee and everyone I else I met.. I would recommend this office to anyone.. Everyone was absolutely spectacular and I'm ( as crazy as this sounds ) looking forward to my next scheduled visit!!!

All my life I have never liked going to the dentist. (Believe me, I am paying for that dislike) I have known Dr. Gooch since he started his practice due to a Church small group we were in but I never went to him. Then about 6 months ago, a coworker told me about this great dentist and who was it, Dr. Gooch! I went to see him and I had the best experience ever. From the moment you walk in everyone on his team makes you feel comfortable and it creates a great experience. I do not "rate" much but this is a dentist that I tell everyone about.

We moved here 8 weeks ago from out of state, so we had to find new doctors for everything. My husband unexpectedly came down with a toothache that resulted in the left side of his face swelling up over night. He was in tons of pain & was supposed to fly out of state for business later that day. We found Dr. Gooch online & they were able to get in him first thing. They took excellent care of him & even followed up with him after hours to check on him. Because he had such a great experience, I went to them for my regular cleaning yesterday. They are top notch in every way. The staff is friendly & welcoming. They really go out of their way to make you feel special & it's unlike any other doctor's office I've ever been to. They see kids too, so I'm scheduling both my boys too! I never write reviews - ever. But this place has been nothing but warm & professional. You won't be disappointed.

I was very uncomfortable when I walked into the office. I do not like dentists. Michelle Spates met me at the door and treated me like family. Michelle showed me the whole office. She put me at ease. All payments were discussed ahead of time with a print out of each service I was having done. My first visit was a great experience. Hanna at the front desk was super nice as was the rest of the staff. Hanna gave me a tour the facility, which contains high tech, state of the art equipment in a very welcoming environment. I heard great things about Dr Gooch from some co-workers. One of them lives in Crestwood and drives all that way, so I knew it had to be good. Okay first off, I usually rarely ever leave reviews but what I experienced today with each of the staff at GFD has been above and beyond my expectations! First starting with Hannah (I think that’s her name... she’s the receptionist/greeter). She greeted me with the warmest smile and gave me a tour around the dentist office and offered me a welcome gift. Then I was given an exam by one of the dental hygienists (ughhhh why can’t I remember her name? I can categorize her by having braces though) followed by Dr. Berry “the guy with the awesome hair that used to be long.” Everything about my experience from the entrance to leaving was exceptional! The financial coordinators gave me a steep bill (lol!) but they were so nice! Then I had a teeth cleaning with Stephanie! Omfg! She’s my girl! Literally one of the sweetest people I’ve met in a long time! AND she knew where my hometown is located (Brewton,AL) so we had a great discussion about the good catfish place they have there. Needless to say I will be returning and recommending this office to any and everyone! They say the employee is the reflection of their boss and even though I didn’t meet Dr. Gooch today, his employees reflected what type of leader/employer he is! 5/5 for me!

I have been going to Dr. Gooch for a few years now and have had a couple of "emergency" visits. Dr. Gooch or one of the other doctors have been able fit me into their busy schedules each time. When you are experiencing unexpected lingering pain, it's great to know the patient's care comes first.

This is the best dentist office in experience I have ever had. I went into the office with low self-esteem due to the incompletion of my teeth implants. I had seen about 5 dentist in the last 3 years to complete my teeth implants due to the original dentist that placed then the implants leaving moving from Birmingham. That's when I met my teeth hero dr. Berry. Not one time did he made me feel insecure about the shape of my teeth but he assured me that I will get my smile back. The other 5 dentist offices I visited prior made me feel insecure and dread going to The dentist. The assistant Dee came in for a blood pressure check and found out that I had high blood pressure up to 189. shs was so lind, by bring me drink and a snack to make sure my personal health was okay and made me feel special.At this time I was within my postpartum stage due to recently having a baby about 3 weeks prior. Dr. Berry and Dee urged me to call my OBGYN, and after my hesitation and their persistence. I called my OBGYN who told me to rush to the ER as soon as possible. If it had not been for my visit and for them running a blood pressure and urging me to call and check on my personal health I would not have known why I felt so dizzy and lightheaded. The front office is awesome the financial Manager worked with me responded to emails in a timely manner and they made my experience Awesome . They have top technology they always make you feel comfortable and considering that I have been to 5 dentists in the last 3 years I have never had this type of experience. I am no lomfer intimated to go to the dentist.Thank you to my teeth Heroes for bringing back my self-esteem and giving me my smile back. You are all truly blessings.

Literally the worst dentist I have ever been too. The office workers are snippy and rude. They refused to file my insurance claim so I had to wait a week to be reimbursed for the $1000 they owed me. When I went to pick up the check they could not have been ruder. The dental work I had done was average, nothing special at all about their dental staff AT ALL. They were just like any other dentist I've been to as far as patient care goes. Administration is a different story. It is not worth your time or money to visit this dentist. If they don't feel like it they won't file your insurance claim (even though it is their obligation) and it could put you out hundreds of dollars. Again, average dental staff. Nothing you wouldn't get from going to any other dental practice (which I highly reccomend.) If I could I would give a 0 star rating just based on the incredibly rude office staff. Avoid this place if at all possible! They are liars and I would rather go somewhere that provides friendly and honest administration as well as the same level of dental care. (Again the dentists are no different than any other dentist in any other practice, it really not worth visiting this office.) Edit: The office replied to my review trying to bribe me to take down my very honestly review. Another example of their dishonesty and desire to be viewed in a way that is not consistent with the poor level of service they provide. You earned your review Gooch Dental, now you have to deal with people knowing how poorly your practice is run.

After returning from an overseas trip, I discovered my wife had charged about $4200, as a partial payment for dental implants, on a low limit credit card I gave her for spending money. Fearing a credit limit overage and ensuing over limit fees, I called in immediately, to see if they can void out the initial charge and make a second charge on a different card. I was told that their system allows charge voids only if requested on the very same day. Since two days passed, they have to issue me a refund check for the initial charge and then charge my second card. That was good enough for me so I told them I'd come by later. I went in and, after waiting a while, the check was prepared. However, I was told that they have to charge my card additional $85 on top of the $4200 because of visa processing fee they have to pay. Aggravating me further, I was also told that they are "doing [me] a favor" because, if they voided out out the initial charge as I requested rather than cutting me a check, the fee they would pay and in turn ask me to pay would be $150. The exchange brought such a bad taste in my mouth that I just left the office without making the credit card swap. OK. I won't argue how pre-implant extractions of just two teeth cost over $1600. I won't question accuracy of the $85 or $150, though I suspect those are make-believe representations of the actual fees. I won't dwell on how no other retailers ask customers to fork over credit card processing fee for returns or charge voids. I just want to ask them, is $85 that important to you? I mean, you just made thousands off of my wife doing the implants. Over the past 14 years my family has been with you, we've had two braces, a number of crowns, and many cavities worked on -- all paid out-of-pocket in-cash because we never had dental insurances. We probably gave you and your affiliates enough for a BMW. And you are fussing over $85? You couldn't cover that as a cost of doing business, as millions of other retailers do everywhere? If you are so determined to nickle and dime your customers, I wonder how creative you get? Dr. Gooch and the rest of you, where is the wisdom of demanding $85 and foregoing thousands more that could have been in your future from my family. Tsk, tsk... PS. By the way, why did you have to tell me that your system does not allow a void unless requested on the same day and then change the story within hours to tell me it can be done for $150?

I've been seeing Dr. Gooch for a long time. I love Dr. Gooch and most of his staff. Of course I understand that business is about making money, but it seems like it has gotten a little out of control here...just saying. Update...I had to reschedule my latest appointment. When I called, I was told that had to call within 48 hours of the appointment time in order to avoid the missed appointment fee. When I pointed out that I was well beyond the req'd 48 hrs, she told me that that fee would be waived, but I would have to pay a $150 deposit to reserve my appointment time! I am currently looking for a new dentist! I have found Lisa Wilson and she is great! I got this email asking me to vote to best "Cosmetic Dentist" and best "Adult Dentist" ...so I clicked the link to cast my vote and it told me I was done, "Thanks for Casting my vote", but I didn't get to. It filled it in for me and I was not going to vote for Gooch! Not a legitimate win or a real opportunity to vote!

I have been avoiding dental visits for many years because of fear! Fear of shame, pain, and money. When I finally decided to get over it, I made an appointment with Gooch Family Dental and now my fears are gone! This is the nicest, most comfortable dental experience I've ever had. Jennifer, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was so nice and caring and she did such a great job. I would never dread seeing her again! Dr. Daniel Andrews is also wonderful... So nice and caused me no pain! Dr. Gooch is great too. I decided to use the oral sedation for my procedures and I wasn't sure how well it would work but it did and I would highly recommend it if you have a"dental fear". Dr. Gooch explained it all to me and answered my questions. I've held off on writing a review until I was sure about this dental practice but I'm sure... everyone I've encountered at this office has just been really professional and nice and I would highly recommend!

I had my first appointment at Dr. Burton Gooch Family & Cosmetic Dentistry yesterday, and I have to say that I was AMAZED at the level of service. I am a bit of a germophobe (more of a dirt-ophobe), and I always let my hygienists know this at the beginning of an office visit. I have had people become rude and offended. That was NOT my experience at Dr. Gooch's office. Everyone, from the people who greeted me at the front desk, to the hygientist, to Dr. Warren, I mean EVERYONE I was introduced to was extremely courteous, friendly, professional, and solicitous. I repeat, I was AMAZED. They obviously make customer service and satisfaction a priority. I have great teeth, but I've usually had someone at most dentist offices that I've visited in the past attempt to sell me something. Once again, Dr. Gooch's office was different. I was not pressured to have my wisdom teeth taken out. I was not pressured to buy their whitening system or special toothpaste or mouth rinse. In fact, I left with a new patient welcome letter and gift, the usual dental goodie bag, and a Mother's Day gift. I will say again, I was AMAZED. I had to gush, but they really deserve this gushing. I seriously doubt that you could visit this office and not be pleased with the customer service. I'm new to the area, and I kinda want them to recommend someone for every service that I might need because obviously they know a lot about keeping customers happy. The only drawback is their office is kinda out in Boofoo (for me), but they are WORTH the drive and I will not go anywhere else!!

From the welcoming I received when I arrived, the tour of the office before we began and a gift for being a first time patient, I knew i was in great hands! I've never had anyone take such time and be so thorough as my hygienist was, and Dr. Gooch himself is clearly the backbone of the operation. I must say that I was very impressed with Dr. Gooch and the whole staff!! Usually when I go to a dentist's office or doctors office for that matter, I walk in to no greetings or hellos, only to sign my name and have a seat for 10-20 mins until my name is called to verify my identity and insurance card. Highly recommend them! If you need to have a crown done, its done there 99% of the time and have a payment plan too.

No thought given to preventing gum recession or bruxism or improving your brushing technique. Too much time and thought and conversation given to checking for oral cancers or abnormalities. Being that I haven't been to the dentist in a few years due to fear of dentistry, I must say that this team has really exceeded my expectations! Every member of Gooch family dental cares for your well being. From the moment I stepped through the door I felt like I was important to them. Because I haven't been to the dentist in a while I needed some pretty extensive work done, root canal and crown. Dr. Gooch himself was very kind during the entire root canal process and performed the procedure very quickly! He even took the time to explain the procedure and educate his staff as he was going through the process. Dr. Andrew's then performed my crown, and I can tell you these doctors are exceptional in their field! They both made sure that I had no pain at all through the entire procedure. Abbey, the dental assistant was hands down amazing in her role, very smart, educated and caring when it came to what was put in front of her. Maggie, the financial person who helped me with my case, was exceptional, caring and very involved in trying to find the best cost outcomes for the work I needed done. That all being said, and this being a very lengthy review, I highly recommend this dental office! They will make sure that you are comfortable and provide you with the best patient care available.

As I walked in, they immediately knew my name without telling them, and took me back to give me a tour of the facility followed by a welcome gift that they greet all their new patients with. As I waited, they also gave a Starbucks gift card to another patient that had been waiting longer than normal. When I was taken back, Rhonda was incredibly friendly, informative, and great at conversation. I was surprised at how well they remember small details that I tell them.
