We are so thankful for Dr. Baxter and Alabama Tongue Tie Center. We started seeing Dr Baxter for my 6 year old who had a tongue tie that all other dentists, pediatricians, and lactation consultants had overlooked. She had speech issues and so many other things that were linked directly to a tongue tie but we were unaware of. Immediately after Dr Baxter corrected it, she could make letter sounds she was unable to just minutes prior. After learning about the connection to neck stiffness and tongue ties, my husband had his corrected and immediately had relief in his neck that he didn’t remember experiencing prior. When we had our newborn son, I realized immediately that he was having issues nursing, so at 5 days old we brought him in to see Dr Baxter as well. Dr Baxter is very humble, gentle and genuine with his patients and families. We are so thankful for the knowledge and resources he has given to our family and for the awareness he is spreading about tongue ties, I have three in my home who are thriving thanks to Dr Baxter and his work!

We took our newborn daughter for Dr. Baxter’s first available appointment straight from the hospital to have her posterior tongue tie and lip tie revised. Everything was so smooth, from the check in, the explanation, the video we watched to see what would happen and how to keep the ties from reattaching, the VERY short procedure, to the hands on demonstration of how to do her stretches afterwards. I’ve had three other children with tongue ties and I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have such an expert in the field right here in Alabama. Would highly recommend Dr. Baxter to anyone who has a child with a tongue tie or lip tie. You’re in good hands.

Very thankful for this clinic. We traveled from Mobile, AL with my 2 month old. We found out the he had a lip and tongue tie that was causing painful breastfeeding. The procedure was quick and in less than 5 minutes my boy was back in my arms. Modern, clean office and friendly staff. Dr. Baxter took his time explaining and educating us. Since the procedure, breastfeeding, colic symptoms, and sleep(was waking 10x per night-now only waking 1) has improved greatly.

Dr. Baxter and his staff at the Alabama Tongue-Tie Center are amazing! I had previously seen an ENT for my 8-month old’s severe lip and tongue-tie, but when asking questions I realized they snipped it with scissors essentially and they told me when I asked about post surgery care that I didn’t need to put pressure on or exercise the cut location to prevent reattachment (the opposite of what I had researched). Immediately walking into the Tongue-Tie center I knew I was in the right place. They walked me through the procedure, explained to me the impacts of not getting the lip and tongue-tie remedied (checkout their website for more info!), and let me know what I needed to do to prevent reattachment. My son was gone for less than three minutes to get the laser procedure, they didn’t put him out (only a topical numbing cream was applied) and he was back in my arms, nursing right away. Dr. Baxter called me later in the evening to check on my son and ask how we were all doing. Honestly, Dr. Baxter and his team set the bar pretty high and have provided a level of bedside manner that I haven’t experienced in years. I am beyond grateful and know that I took my son to the best place to get his lip and tongue tie fixed!

I am beyond grateful for Dr. Baxter and his staff. They got me in the same week I called. The appointment was very informative, and Dr. Baxter walks you through everything that was going to happen, including insurance and fees, before they do anything. After my son's procedure I was able to nurse in one of their exam rooms, which included dimmable lights, a nursing pillow, and a recliner/rocking chair. I never felt rushed or pressured. My older daughter was even able to play on their playground while we had our appointment. Dr. Baxter has done so much research on the topic there is no one I trust more with my son's needs. We have always gone to Shelby Pediatric Dentistry, and were referred to the AL Tongue Tie Center for my daughter due to a lip tie. Dr. Baxter and his staff are, and have always been, so wonderful and thorough. We were able to get an appointment quickly and ended up having the procedure handled the same day. Dr. Baxter and his staff were very cheerful and professional. He has a calming personality. We drove three hours to have our week old baby girl evaluated and tested for a tongue and lip tie. We had the procedure done after the evaluation. It only took a couple minutes and I was able to nurse her right away. The difference in her latch was noticeable. We are thankful for a Christian dr that prayed with us before the procedure.

I am so grateful for Dr. Baxter and the AL Tongue-Tie center! My son had both a lip and tongue tie that was missed / unaddressed by several other care providers. After months of struggling with breastfeeding, we were both beyond frustrated and dreading every feeding. I called the center and they got me in two days later - the staff was extremely friendly and Dr. Baxter was absolutely incredible. He listened to my concerns attentively, validated my feelings and provided and thorough examination and diagnosis. We determined the course of testament needed, quickly, and he performed the revision same-day. He cares so much for each patient and family; he even prayed with us before the procedure, helping to ease my fears - little did he know he was quite literally an answer to MY prayers! Each day since the procedure, feeds have been easier and four days out, things are nearly “normal”. I’m SO THANKFUL for their compassionate care and precision in treatment! I will absolutely recommend them to everyone I know!

My child had an extremely bad lip tie and tongue tie. We got both fixed right before their second birthday and oh my gosh. My child won’t stop talking now! Everyday they’re learning a new word!! So thankful for Dr.Baxter. He prayed with us before the procedure and was very attentive. So grateful for this place!
