I'm so thankful for a studio that offers more than just an excellent dance education. Misty's has been an important part of our life for ten years, and I can confidently say my kids have gained so much more than dance skills. My daughter has had messages of self-worth, grit, resilience, dedication, and real beauty poured in and over her as she has grown. She has learned how to walk through things gracefully when things don't go the way you hope they will and humbly when they do. The 'education' she is receiving will stay with her long after her dance education.

We have been extremely pleased with the level of instruction & care shown at Misty's Dance Unlimited. My daughter has been dancing at MDU for 6 years. She started in the Kiddance/KidTap program & is now in the Pre-Professional ballet program. The staff care just as much about the kids as people, as dancers.

When our oldest daughter turned 3 (she is now 19), we excitedly signed her up for dance class at our local Onalaska dance studio. That initial dance class sparked an interest, and that local studio (Misty's Dance Unlimited) became a second home for both of our daughters. Our younger daughter is 13, and some weeks she dances at the studio every day of the week! I have always appreciated that at MDU, character and kindness are just as important as dance skills. Dancers are surrounded by positive role models who care about them as people. We are so fortunate to have such a high caliber studio right in Onalaska!

During recital shows this weekend Misty W. Lown talked about the importance of “third places”- (she shared the attached article) spaces created to foster well-being of our communities, including our children; a place in addition to their home and school that children are safe, cared for, and are able to grow. Our daughter spends several days a week at Misty’s Dance Unlimited. In this “third place” our young woman is nurtured and challenged as a dancer, a student, a leader and a friend. She looks forward to going to the studio each day, skipping in with a smile on her face- she feels valued for who she is. As I reflect on this amazing recital weekend, I am grateful to to the teachers, staff, and families at MDU for providing and being a part of this amazing “third place” in our community. MDU is a shining example of the power of vision, perseverance, and an (ever growing) group to make positive, lasting change, we are proud to be part of this, thank you all.

This was our first year at Misty's and ALL the staff were amazing and welcoming! Kris was always prompt with getting back to me and all my questions. We have two daughters currently dancing at Misty's Dance Unlimited. Our oldest has danced there for 13 years and our youngest for 6 years. We love that this studio values character and modesty, along with excellence in dance. The teachers have encouraged and nurtured our girls in their love of dance, as well as encouraging all the dancers to be kind, respectful and positive in how they treat one another. Now our oldest is embarking on a new stage in life--pursuing her dream of being a professional ballerina. I cannot thank Misty and her studio enough for the huge role they have played in encouraging her along the way, as well as providing excellent teachers and performing opportunities. I highly recommend this studio for those who are truly looking for not just a great dance studio but for more than just great dancing!

Community Relations

Ten years of "wonderful" for our daughter, Grace! From Tippy Toes at age 3 to Pre-Professional ballet and Performance Company - our experience has far surpassed our expectations! The teachers encourage dancers of every age and ability. Misty's is a place where Grace has found friends and grown in confidence. She has had incredible opportunities from assisting children with special needs in dance class to performing at Disney to performing for residents of nursing homes. What a great place to be! We LOVE Misty's Dance Unlimited!!!

MDU made moving so much easier on my daughter. Dancing is her “happy place” and MDU allows her the opportunity to do that in a setting that is second to none! The staff is great and you can tell they genuinely care about the dancers. When we moved, everyone recommended MDU to us and it is easily one of the best decisions we ever made for our daughter! There are not enough good things I can say about MDU.

This studio's focus is on building character, creating confidence, and improving the mental & physical strength in the lives that they touch. I'm so thankful we found this studio and that my children are gaining life skills that will propel them into a successful adulthood.

Mistys is great! The staff is amazing, my daughter looks forward to going, and always comes out in a great mood! My only issue with this place is that I pay monthly, obviously, for my child to dance there and YOU have to buy an admissions ticket to watch your child's dance/ progress that you have already paid for them to teach your child! I have never heard of a dance studio doing this and I honestly think it's pretty ridiculous. I pay quite a bit of money as it is for my 3 year old to dance there now you want me to pay to watch her? That's not ok with me. I understand other family memebers having to pay bit as a parent I already pay the tuition, they said it goes toward the older kids competitions, but there are other ways to get that money for those kids.
