Eric and Encarna are the real deal. They both live and breathe flamenco. This isn't a side-gig or a pet-project for them. This is what they do, and they're incredible. On top of being gifted and active performers, both in small and large venues, they are patient, inspiring, and thoughtful teachers.
I've been taking flamenco guitar lessons with Eric for the past 3 years, starting with a very minimal guitar background, and Eric's patience and teaching skills have really made a huge impact on my guitar playing ability. On top of teaching awesome music, he teaches how to practice, how to dissect a problem, and keeps you a slave to the rhythm - which is a good thing. My lessons with Eric are easily the highlight of my week.
Eric and Encarna recently organized a student show, which I was lucky to be a part of. Preparing for the show really made Flamenco come to life for me. It was incredible to play for dancers and singers, and Encarna did a fantastic job of getting the dancers ready and keeping us guitarists in line. She brings a lot of life to any room she's in and it's an absolute joy to work with her.
If I had one word to describe Eric and Encarna, it would be 'authentic'. I can't recommend studying flamenco with them enough. I'm hooked, you'll be hooked, you're CD collection will grow, your appreciation for the little things will flourish. They will teach you a way of life, if you let them.
