I can't say enough good things about American Dance Institute (ADI), the director (Elizabeth), and the teachers. They are friendly and professional. My daughter has taken an array of classes at ADI fo the last 3 or 4 years. This amazing studio has always provided excellent instruction in a warm atmosphere. The director even knows every student personally. Teachers are encouraging and positive.

My daughter absolutely enjoys her modern dance classes and this dance school allows her to make-up for her missed classes, and she chooses hip hop during the weekends when this happens. The staff are thorough when teaching, and as a parent/viewer, I could see the students (both children and adult) improve each week, to the point that I also want to take classes! This school is unpretentious and don't allow snootiness or cliques (their slogan inside says 'no snootiness' allowed). The staff, Dakota, replies to my emails within the day I send an inquiry. They are helpful and quite a pleasure to work with. The school is new in this location and is worth a visit to take a class or two.

My daughter has attended ADI at Shoreline since they opened. She has danced since the age of 3 at other studios and we were immediately impressed with ADI. We love the quality of instruction she receives, and the sense of family/community we have there. My daughter’s teachers, Dakota and Sophie are incredible. They take their time to help each dancer grow to their fullest potential. My daughter loves how supported and encouraged she feels at ADI, and if she’s happy- I’m happy!

We have just completed our second session at ADI and our daughter loves it! The new location is great- good location and convenient in and out. The classes are just long enough to keep young kids engaged and the teachers have been terrific!

my daughter tried out a class and was hooked, the instructor creates a fun and encouraging environment for adolescents, and its clear she does the same for the younger group as well.

I attended the Shoreline location recently for a trial class to see if I would enjoy the style of hip hop. Being an experienced dancer and a prior dance instructor I spent years studying and teaching Ballet, Jazz, Salsa, and Polynesian. I always wanted to try hip hop, but was always too busy to take on anything new for myself. Being in another season of life now, I decided to give it a try. I attended the Saturday at 12:20pm class with instructor, Jazz, and let me tell you, she is a gem! Jazz is a personable, fun, and skilled instructor. With my background in dance, my worst fear regarding teen/adult classes are that they will be too freshman (easy, boring, etc.) in regard to what is being learned. When you have experience, that's not something you want to jump into since you will pick up the movements fairly quickly. Jazz did a wonderful job of making her class beginner yet challenging. Offering movement that oldschool and current, basic and progressive steps, like something you might see Ian Eastwood doing. Love her and love the school! -Sandee M

I started bringing my son here because we received a free month of classes through Valpak. My son fell in love with dance and his instructor so I signed him up for summer classes. This was a very lengthy process because their website wasn’t working properly the many times I tried to pay online. I tried calling as well and each person I talked to didn’t seem to know what was going on. I understand that this is a new company and it can be tricky to get organized so I ended up coming in person to pay. Today was supposed to be my sons first day of class. When my husband brought my son, they informed him that the whole summer series had been cancelled. No one had emailed or called or reached out to us in any way to let us know not to come in. I find that incredibly rude. Not only that but now my son is disappointed and we have to find another program that isn’t already full for him to join this summer. I’m really disappointed in the lack of organization and communication from this company.

American Dance Institute is a very special place, warm and welcoming. My son and daughter have taken classes at ADI and they have both loved it. The faculty are very supportive and attentive to all the kids, regardless of their level. If you're looking for a studio, try this one out. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I have loved all my classes at American Dance Institute! Michaeline De La Serna, the Flamenco instructor, has an amazing gift for teaching. Not only does she break down steps into their basic components and explain them clearly but she provides background information about the dance form. It’s difficult to form bad habits when clear training is provided from the start. As an adult, I felt a bit timid about starting dance, but Michaeline is so encouraging and enthusiastic that I have never felt discouraged. The dance routines and music she chooses are all so much fun! I have come to the conclusion that dance is the best way to exercise: it provides both physical challenge and emotional expression. American Dance has many classes to choose from for all ages and the office is very helpful and responsive.
