I was nervous when my husband presented me with dance lessons for Christmas because I was never one who enjoyed dancing. He loves it however, so I agreed to go. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised! Wendy and Taras are fantastic dance instructors and just fun people in general. I have learned so much and always have an absolute blast. They quickly put you at ease and are extremely patient. I have recommended Arthur Murray to many people and will continue to do so!

Thank you Arthur Murray Dance Studio to support the Starlets of Dance 2017 event. Breast cancer survivors were paired with professional dancers for eight weeks of instruction culminating in one great night at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach. I wanted to thank Taras and Wendy for offering to me the time and their studio to learn and to practice. It is a welcoming place and all the instructors are just genuinely kind. I was lucky to be paired with Eric, one of the instructors at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. He is an extraordinary teacher and created a beautiful routine for me. With his teaching skills and patience I learned every step and was able to feel ready and confident by the time to perform. It was an amazing experience, and it made a difference to have an instructor, who is also a wonderful and kind person.

We are so happy we chose Arthur Murray Dance Studio to prepare for our first dance at our wedding on August 5th 2017. We went for an introductory lesson a few months before our wedding and signed up right after the session. All of the staff there are incredibly friendly and helpful. Our dance instructor, Noah, was amazing! He was very patient with us as we learned all of the moves and gave simple, clear instructions. We were able to repeat our routine many times and focus on improving any mistakes we made. After our block of 6 lessons we were given the opportunity to practice in front of an audience at two of the dance parties. This helped immensely since it meant we had the chance to mess up and get rid of our nerves before we danced in front of our guests! On the big day we didn't make any mistakes and thanks to Noah's instruction we didn't have to resort to the awkward "clutch and sway"!!!

My husband and I took private dance lessons for our wedding first dance with Eric at Arthur Murrary and boy, are we glad we did. We had six sessions and Eric was very patient and helpful in every single lesson. We wanted an “elegant with some wow” dance and Eric created a beautiful first dance for us. He also edited our song timewise, which we greatly appreciated. Our lessons with Eric were super helpful and combined with our practice at home, we had a beautiful first dance at our wedding. We did not tell any of our guests, so they were very surprised. We both realized during our first dance though, that we had gone too fast because of nerves! Luckily, I threw in an extra move and my husband went it and we were able to time the ending of our dance perfectly (and no one knew any better!) We hired a videographer for our wedding too and whenever we watch the dance portion of our video, we are always so giddy about it because we felt like we did an awesome job. The dance lessons made for a fun date night leading up to the wedding and relieved some of the stress from wedding planning. We absolutely love our first dance and are so happy to have that be a special memory of our wedding day. I would definitely recommend Arthur Murray Dance Studio for any dance lesson need.

What a terrific first impression of the studio! I called and spoke to Savannah about signing up for classes for my husband and myself. She was extremely helpful and informative, so much so that I am now really excited to get started with our lessons! I have to admit that I was very nervous about taking dance classes, but Savannah's enthusiasm for dance is infectious!

I’ve been wanting to try ballroom dancing lessons for years but I’ve always been a bit intimidated by the idea of embarrassing myself in front of a group of strangers. But from day one, I felt so at ease. The instructors are sweet, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested. Wendy, the owner, always makes a point to greet us (by name) and check in with us. We alternate instruction from Chris and Noah. I can’t say enough wonderful things about them. They’re both incredibly warm and patient; they explain things in a way that’s easy to understand and follow. I can’t recommend this studio and these instructors enough!

This is a first-class place to learn how to dance. The instructors are upbeat. After a long day at work it's rejuvenating to take dance. Arthur Murray has the best set of instructors. There is a very happy Spirit in the studio.

While growing up, dancing was never really on my radar. It was my sisters who got involved with dancing, like ballet. As I became older though, I realized that having two left feet wasn't doing me any favors. I wanted to finally change that. After looking into different studios and working up my courage, I contacted Arthur Murray Virginia Beach. They set me up with a trial lesson the very next day and I have continued taking lessons for a few months now. Needless to say, I could not be more pleased with their instruction. The entire staff makes you feel very welcome and at ease, which is especially important when you're new and unsure of what dancing is all about. They are all excellent dancers and teachers who are genuinely interested in making you a better dancer, whatever your goals may be. I can honestly say that it's been one of the best decisions of my life. With that said, I encourage you to take that first step. Give them a call and schedule a trial lesson. There's nothing to lose but a great family and dancing to gain!

Not a Ballroom Dancer? Arthur Murray Virginia Beach will make you one! I started over 3 years ago with zero experience and skills. Today I am proficient in many styles of dance and am often asked to dance by others at parties and other events! The secret is simple: the staff are all certified instructors and their focus is entirely on you the student. You learn at your own pace so you never have to fear getting 'left in the dust'. What's more is they actually make learning to dance fun so you enjoy every minute! I never imagined I could ever be a skilled dancer, but Arthur Murray made it happen.

Just pure talent, passion for teaching and fun!!! I loved taking classes with my hubby, can't wait to learn more. My husband and I are always looking for creative ideas for our date night, after 12 years of marriage you can run out of ideas. Loved all the teacher but specially Wendy and Taras. So fun!!!

I have wanted to learn to dance for a very long time, but was hesitant to take a lesson out of fear of embarrassment. My husband gave me a voucher for a few lessons for Mother's Day, and we have been dancing at Arthur Murray ever since. Owners Taras and Wendy are professional, encouraging and easy-going. The rest of the staff is also talented and upbeat. We are enjoying our experience very much and we look forward to every lesson.

As true beginners, my now-husband and I were a bit nervous about formal dance lessons in preparation for our wedding. However, after we used our two lesson Groupon, we happily signed on for more! Chris immediately made us feel comfortable and quickly generated a road map so that our first dance was choreographed but also natural and easy to photograph. Every time we left a lesson we felt like 1) we accomplished something, 2) we got even better and 3) we had fun! The staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming and we cannot wait to use our group lessons to learn some new dances! Chris is an excellent teacher and coach and her ability to break things down and laugh with us made our Friday night lessons a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this studio to any first-timers who want to dance competently and have a good time!

This dance studio is definitely the best place to learn and practice dancing in Virginia Beach. The staff is outstanding. Taras and Wendy, the owners, are former high level competitors as well as incredible coaches. The other dance instructors are as good as they are passionate in what they do. Moreover, they are the nicest people and the atmosphere in the studio is always friendly, which helps a lot to get over inhibitions everyone has when it comes to dancing. The other students are always supportive and make you feel very comfortable whatever your skill and level are. The syllabus is very well done and consistent to help you improve without being frustrated. It is the same in all Arthur Murray studios which allows you to easily dance with other Arthur Murray students and instructors all across the country. After a couple of weeks at the studio, dancing became a very important part of our life and provided unexpected benefits. We could not have wished for a better place to learn it.

What a great and fun way to learn something new and meet new people. The staff and students are super friendly and welcoming! If you’ve ever considered learning how to dance, for any reason, this is a great place to ease you into it without feeling embarrassed or silly about it. Great group of people that own and operate this location. Occasionally would run a little late with lesson, thus starting our lesson late, but would finish on time due to next evolution. Highly recommend this business if you want to have some fun and square away your 2 left feet.

I am visiting the area and have danced for 10 years. Wanted to take a few classes and was told it is " members only". The manager and his instructor were very rude and sounded annoyed. Don't waste your time there!

My wife and I thought it would be nice to take dance lessons for our daughter’s wedding. That was 2 & 1/2 years ago! We had so much fun we just kept dancing! The staff is great and make everything fun. Neither of us danced before, and now we are going to dance competitions and loving it!
