This is the most fantastic club in Chattanooga. Everything here is original art. The music has never been played anywhere before. The variety of acts is astounding and something more than entertaining. The first Friday of every month is "The Floor Is Yours" night and features amateur acts, sometimes for the first time ever on a stage in front of an audience. Music by the Undoctored Originals. An absolutely unique experience.

Randomly fell upon this place when searching for things to do while visiting Chattanooga. We bought tickets online and didn’t have to worry about printing, we were in a list at the door. Staff (and when I say staff I mean the 2 people that were there) was very friendly and greeted us as we came in. No food served, only wine/beer and soft drinks available. Seats are either padded chairs or old theater seats which were not bad but not 100% comfortable either for a 2 hour concert. We saw The Steel Wheels which was amazing. The small stage and seating area draws the artists and crowd in close together for a unique, intimate experience. We would go again for the right band!

We were visiting Chattanooga and stumbled upon Barking Legs as we were planning our trip. We went to a Bluegrass performance last night and overall it was awesome. The performers were fantastic and it's a fun, intimate space. Be prepared for old seats, which isn't too big a deal. Staff I interacted with were very nice. Only observations (wouldn't even call them complaints): 1. We bought tickets online, in advance, as out of towners and there was no explanation or indication of how to get tickets or get in. When my dad inquired he got a bit of a rude response that seemed to assume we understood how this system would work. Turns out we were on a handwritten piece of paper. This all could have been mitigated if at the time of transaction there was a message that said: you'll be on the list at the door. 2. No one from the theater introduced the performers, which would have helped some awkward intros from the artists. They also started about 15 minutes late. But it's a great place and very worth supporting.

It is amazing to me that any shows can bring a profit to the theater or to the performers, give the small number of seats. That said, "small is beautiful." The reason for docking a star is that the seats could be more comfortable. Anything more than an hour becomes a bit of an endurance test. The sound system and lighting are certainly adequate for the venue. We recently went to a belly dancing show, and enjoyed the wide variety of dancers and their routines. There is a wide range of performances available.

Barking Legs is an intimate venue where you can hear great music, watch dance, listen to poems or stories, and where new artists get to spread their wings. It just feels good to go there, and you will soon develop local favorites as well as learn that when an announcement says not to miss someone, it's true!

This place looks like it would be an amazing place. The building is awesome. I have never been to this place or even inside. However, I just love the sparkling legs that hang out from the walls at the top on the outside of the building. They are just the greatest thing since speckled pups.
