Greenville Ballet has a long history in Greenville and they are an OK ballet school if you want to focus on ballet. We were looking for a more well rounded studio in all areas of dance like jazz, hiphop, modern, tap, etc. They failed to meet our expectations of being this well rounded place we were in search of. The owners do not care about any forms of dance other than ballet and have turned it over to someone else to manage that side. This area is severely lacking because the director of the "Jazz" side isn't dedicated to the business, makes it an afterthought while doing work with community plays, and the dance numbers that are put together for competitions come in with poor results that lack imagination. We live in an era of "everyone gets a trophy" and they do have some trophys to show off but usually they were for the bottom 25% of the groups competing. Lots of "personality" problems there too. Just not a good setup. You can avoid the drama and put your child in a place to succeed with many of the other choices around town. We were also hit up for strange charges at times for things like costumes and registrations at competitions that were strongly marked up. My feedback from other parents I've since run into and trust is that this place (also referred to as Greenville Jazz ) is in the bottom of choices around town.
