On May 15, 2019, James and I decided to take the introductory/sample class to get an idea of what dance, if any, we would like to do at our wedding in September. Mr. JR was our instructor for the night and what a glorious night it was! I had so much fun dancing and connecting with JR and my fiance on a new level. There were so many laughs and even our youngest daughter, who was also in attendance, decided to get off her tablet to join in on learning the box step, rock step, triple step and so much more! I think the class with JR was a success. My fiance had never watched a single movie with music and dancing, much less ballroom dancing, while I have seen everything from Footloose and Chicago to Dirty Dancing and Dance with Me. Literally the next morning, I awoke to the sound of "Hungry Eyes." James was actually watching Dirty Dancing. This is how I KNOW that the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Charleston is the best place for us to take this journey. I know that as we go on, we will be introduced to more instructors but JR definitely boosted our experience with his kind humor and patience.

What a fun dance lesson! Our group was warmly welcomed by JR, and Anne Marie taught us the steps that we needed for an upcoming event. I have to say the customer service and helpful dance instruction from JR, Ann Marie and the rest of the Arthur Murray team was simply amazing. I was nervous because it was my first time but during my free lesson they got me out and the floor and moving like I had been dancing all along! What a great experience. The studio is brand new so its beautiful, just what I was looking for, I plan to be an Arthur Murray student for life!

Owner and instructors are absolutely awesome - professional, friendly, and lots of fun! In my case, they're also quite patient!! The Arthur Murray Dance Studio is seriously amazing! I am getting married in Sept so my dad and I went in there for help on our Father/Daughter dance. Our fist lesson went amazing and JR and Diana are extremely helpful. They went over everything and told us how many lessons we would need to be ready for the wedding. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back again for our next lesson! If you have thought about doing some ballroom dancing you need to give this place a call!!! So AMAZING!

I've never been to other Arthur Murray studios, but this one is fantastic! The owner, JR goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home and welcome! The instructors (Diana, AnnMarie, Gary) are super nice and make classes fun! My fiance and I struggle with being the center of attention and didn't know how to dance well so we initially joined to learn for our wedding. It has brought confidence to us both! As a hobby, the cost can add up for us, but for what they are doing and how they are focused on teaching you the right way (not a rushed "quick fix"), it is certainly worth it if you can swing it :)

I was a introvert. My routine was go to work come home an be a couch potato after I ate my dinner. So I made a change. And decided it was time for me to get out of the house. Mr JR called left me voicemail(because I started to change my mind). Then the next week he called again. I happened to answer the call. It was Mr JR. I am glad I did not ignore it. My fiancée and I need dancing lessons before our wedding and we had our first class with the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Charleston last night. Duncan was very professional and polite, and the instructor, AnnMarie, was very patient and fun. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it felt more like a date than a class. If one is serious about learning ballroom dance, then there is little reason to look elsewhere than A.M. Charleston. The intructors here have a great deal of patience with those of us who are new but willing to learn; they have been a joy to know and learn from.

Arthur murray has helped us put together a great wedding dance! We started with minimal experience, and now we feel very prepared for our big day! LOVE LOVE LOVE this team of professionals. JR and his team of dance instructors are just awesome. Super friendly and easy to work with. We started taking lessons just so we could dance a little at special events and vacations, who knew we would love it so much we kept going for over a year. Now with our own wedding right around the corner we feel confident that our first dance will be amazing, because now we have the skills to perform to our favorite song. Anne Marie is hands down the best and I would recommend her to anyone. She makes lessons fun and light hearted you will laugh and smile all while learning dance skills to make even someone with 2 left feet seem flawless. You won't be sorry if you give this studio a try. My fiance and I signed up for classes at Arthur Murray two months before our wedding and could not believe how much we learned in that time. JR and Ann Marie as well as the entire Arthur Murray Team were AMAZING to work with and are all SO much fun and creative! Great Job by JR Duncan Arthur Murray Dance Center - Business owner with Mark. They are super nice. Girls who teach really care, smiling, refereshing even though you become tired with physical exercise and continous coaching it is not easy- but they make a real difference... even though this is originally from Coral Gables, Florida. JR Duncan has been doing for 28 years- Amazing, cheerful, positive, good vibration from him.
