My daughter enrolled in the program in January and so far has had a great experience. I have received recital information early and I am looking forward to the end of the semester. So far I have no complaints. I will update after the recital.

Horrible experience my daughter went here for one day and cried the whole time. The owner doen not need to teach a class because she is not good for children and dont know how to talk to the babies I was in a lost of 450.00 dollars.

I give this school one star for MANY reasons my daughter been attending school of dance art for a few weeks now she takes 2 class for one they are a little pricey.this is my daughter second year in dance school just not this one so I'm not new to these programs but I chose this time to send her to a school with more intents learning well I thought.my child already had all the dance wear from the last school but this one didnt except the ballet slippers which was okay so I went out to get her some which was hard to find in her size so I pre order them and had to pick them up the following week.so I took her to class to explain to the dance teacher she didn't have any shoes before I even got to explain that I already ordered them that I was picking up them up next week she yelled across the room and said oh well see if you can borrow some your disrupting my class which class haven't even began blew my mind and upseted my baby I was pissed. The dance teacher at this program has a problem with her mouth and do not know how to speak to people in a postive tone of voice not even kids as a leader and an example for young children.I then processed to speak to her i guess there are her assistants which there problem solving is wayyy off and i feel like they are only there to back her up and collect money.and mainly but not least this is the biggest part that I advice anyone who ever looks into dealing with these people to think twice about if you choose to stop sending your child for any reason it goes against your CREDIT SCORE what happen to free will this should be an opion not a demand.so yes i have to take that L my credit is more important that this school I have a business and I can't afford to let them bring me down so my daughter is stuck at this school. which I was NEVER told cause I surely wouldn't have sent my child here from the start. But I'll stop here because i can go on and on and on but I'll get into all that when I contact that BBB to report this place.but I'll end it with a good comment good programs to keep your children busy and doing something postive! I am a parent that makes sure I'm updated on my child payments and always willing to support but I get very personal when my kindness is taken for granted and someone doesn't show concern to my baby.

Horrible horrible horrible I signed my daughter up then my daughter decided dance wasn't for her she is only 4 she does not no what she want and when I told them she was not coming back they told me I still have to pay I said no I'm not paying I paid full custome fee and paid for every month my daughter actually went they wasn't teaching them anything but ding dong any way and told me I had to pay $300 for the recital and I said I don't need 10 tickets tho she said well the money go towards the school all Chrissy thinks about is money she really is not in it for the children because if she was you wouldn't make a 4 year old do anything she does not want to do anyway despite them saying it will go on my credit I didn't send my daughter back and I won't because she says she doesn't like it. Also Chrissy is always trying to tell one how to parent their child like mind your business and there wasn't really anything for us parents to do but sit there this was the worst experience ever and I would never sign my child or anyone up for this school even in another life time

Things I dislike about School of Dance Arts: 1. The owner Christie Cannon displays terrible customer service. 2. She asked me to provide my social security number upon signing my daughter up for dance class for Sept-June, saying that there is NO ability to change one's mind and leave dance class after the first two sessions. You have the first two sessions to decide if you want to stay and the are responsible for the school year of tuition thereafter, whether you later wish to leave or not. If you fail to pay, they want to use your social security number to report it to a collections agency. I paid her on time every month and assured her that I would not renege on my agreement. I asked that she not insist on my ss# because other parents had dealt dishonestly with her the past and to at least deal with me based on my own payment track record. She at least agreed to waive collecting my ss#. 3. Had her daughter, a young woman in her early 20s,teaching my daughter and other five year olds to dance ballet and tap even though her daughter is NOT a degreed ballet/tap teacher. She knows ballet from being a student herself throughout her childhood. 4. Then her daughter taught my daughter and the other 5 year olds and then abruptly DISAPPEARS from the class after five months of teaching. Instead of finding an appropriate replacement, the owner of the school, Christie Cannon, chose to have a 15-year-old child who was also a student stand in and teach the class for the remaining 4 months leading up to the recital. Chrystie Cannon lied to us parents and told us her daughter was out sick, and only admitted that her daughter would NOT be returning as dance instructor only AFTER she had collected our $85 for recital costumes. 5. Chrystie Cannon tried to pressure parents to participate in a fundraising drive whereby parents would be made to sell Mrs. Fields raw cookie dough. When I declined to participate (because honestly I don't support Mrs Fields corporation nor do I have the time or the desire to) I was given an attitude by Chrystie Cannon. 6. Chrystie Cannon takes financial advantage of the parent clientele when recital time approached. Penalizing people who wished to only by 1 or 2 tickets by making individual tickets $45. If you bought up to 5 tickets, the price were $35 dollars each. If you bought up to 10 tickets (a whole row of 10 seats) tickets went down to $25 per seat. I purchased a "performance packet" for $300.00, which included 10 tickets, a full page ad in the recital program, bouquet of flowers, DVD of program. 9. After watching my daughter and her classmates rehearse their tap dance and ballet dance, it was evident to me and the other mothers that our daughters were NOT polished in their dance routine. Despite the whole school year of 9 months having past, the girls still appeared to be awkward with their dance moves and timing and an adult instructor crouched at the foot of the stage to pantomime all of the movements the children needed to do. They never bothered to have the children memorize their dance very well. When I notified Christy that the children needed more practice to improve their dance routine in preparation for the recital in 3 days, she very curtly told me that the children's dance looked just fine to her and that they did NOT need anymore practice but if I preferred, the 15 year old stand-in child teacher would be happy to go out into the distraction-filled hallway of the venue for a few more test runs. 8. I will admit that I absolutely love the student body at School of Dance Arts because these youth are hardworking and have wonderful personalities and are committed to developing their dance skills. But Chrystie Cannon the SDA owner is HORRIBLE. Im overjoyed that I never have to deal with such an unpleasant and unprofessional woman again.

My daughter has blossomed since attending SDA. she's more confident, focused and a better dancer. She's also attended the theater arts summer camp and I couldn't be happier with the results! Definitely worth the investment.
