Temple students get in for free! Cool place with interesting pieces. There's no particular order to where the pieces are, it's all kind of in the same place. There's currently a theme they have going called "Swarm." Their gift shop was great too.

Free admission on President’s Day, the day we visited. This art museum is spacious, neatly laid out, and well-curated overall. The ‘World War I and American Art’ exhibition was of particular interest, showing the public response to the war and what life in the battlefield was like, especially for those who experienced it first-hand. Stayed for two hours, which was enough to see all exhibits on two floors.

Bruce Segal

Well circulating exhibits. Knowledgeable guides

It certainly a nice visit. The staff were nice, I was being stared at by one employee but they were just doing their job that everything runs smoothly. I do wish that there were more to explore, it seemed like a place to spend one to two hours on. Perhaps having a more detailed description of the art or the artist would also be nice.

Otto Schmid

Amazing architecture and one of the few surviving Frank Furness buildings in Philly!

Carol Harkins

What a great place! Gorgeous architecture inside and out. Plus paintings and sculptures! We enjoyed two very different exhibits. The Artist's Garden centered on American Impressionism and the Garden Movement from 1887 - 1920. Some beautiful colors. Then we saw the Peter Blume exhibit - fascinating work. Just a nice place to spend the afternoon.

Cynthia Spuriel

Excellent place to bring students to get lessons in fine art. Classes are not long and the tours are great for intermediate grade students.

The jewel of Philadelphia art museums, a historical architectural landmark, and a walk through the history of American art, PAFA Is not as well-known or visited as it should be. It is always a joy to introduce friends to PAFA. A fabulous cafe for lunch or a snack and one of the best museum shops in the city.

I can't talk about the school, but the museum is one of Philadelphia's secret little treasures. If you are an art lover, it is well worth the visit.

Another great museum in Philadelphia. Pafa museum frequently exhibits national and international artists; however, it's mission is dedicated to archive, preserve, and highlight Pennsylvanian artists. Located just across from the Philadelphia Convention Center and easily accessible by public transportation. If the Public Transportation give you the heebie jeebies, there are many parking lots and garages near the museum. But, prepare to give your arm and a leg to park your car. During my recent visit to see Chuck Close exhibition, I notice that they don't have security guards to protect the art work from inquisitive visitors, you know who you are, always testing to crossing the invisible boundaries from the work of art. Anyway, they replaced uniform personnel with casually dressed, iPad toting docents; I kind of like the idea of having a trained art historian there to protect and promote the arts. TIP: The Museum offers free admission or discounts if you are a member of listed institutions such as colleges, Universities, and museums.

(Translated by Google) Fun building from the outside, with buildings all around that brighten up the street while turning everything from an artistic point of view. The school is located not far from City Hall and is well located in the city. (Original) Bâtiment amusant vu de l'extérieur, avec des constructions tout autour qui égaient un peu la rue tout en tournant le tout d'un point de vue artistique. This looks like a beautiful place to attend and study art. PAFA has great recommendations from the Tri-State area where I live. My family and I attended an open house and fell in love with the professors and students. We were able to speak one on one with the 4year students and obtained a lot of info about the college. What amazed me more than anything was the fact that there were no cons about the school. It was honest information poured into our ears. We were able to see the results of many artists at their best. The professors and students are all extremely gifted. The art work was phenomenal. My daughter who also has a Good given gift and patients for art is looking to attend this college. I pray that she will be excepted in. Dr. H

America's first Art Museum and school. A must stop visit for those interested in Philadelphia's historical and contemporary culture.

This is an art treasure, that has supported and proudly displayed controversial of Artists of the times. For example,Thomas Eaken's,circa 1900. To this very day, they display, controversial artists. Many of them, are non-white. Theiir school, even now, is at least;as important-as their museums. Don't miss the annual displays,of the current PFA student.

Zorawar Moolenaar

Francesco Elia Marino

This place is Fantastic. I believe it is a hidden "art paradise" in Philadelphia. It is relatively small but it really has great pieces of artwork. Please plan a visit and you won't be disappointed.

Robert Sulentic

Historic Art school and Museum. Always something to see.

Holly Boyle

Got into the gallery for free with some friends. Although there were a lot of great modern displays, this is not the place for someone looking for famous artworks or historical and world renowned art pieces. Still had some fascinating article pieces however.

Geoff Bennett

Easy to get to

Liam Tahaney

Lived in the Philly area my whole life, and just made it here recently. It's a beautiful building and the arts not too bad either! One thing to be aware of, though. The building relies on a lot of natural light, which made a whole lot of art difficult to see because of glare without the sun. Just be aware and try and visit on a sunny day.

Daniel Silverman Serra

Edward Bergmen

A trivial note: This museum was America's first Art Museum and school. A must stop visit for those interested in Philadelphia's historical and contemporary culture and history.
