Did Portland really need another yoga studio? Yeah, it did. Modo PDX. Our city is finally complete. I’ve done yoga for over 20 years with countless teachers in several cities around the world. I was searching. Then, when I found Modo Yoga I felt like I’d found it. But that’s esoteric talk, and specific to my experience. Let’s start with the fact that Modo Yoga offers a profound and powerful community. It begins here in Portland at Jen Reed’ studio and follows you around as you travel for work or pleasure to other Modo cities. I really feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself, and something really good. Modo PDX has the most beautiful yoga studio in Portland (and I’ve showered in most of them!) It is clean, welcoming, and, most importantly, inspiring. Whereas other hot yoga is actually hot (and dour and smelly), Modo PDX is warm and cozy; it opens you. Modo teachers seem to be more fully educated in the knowledge and practice of yoga than other teachers who studied the “how” of postures for a weekend or a couple of weeks. Modo teachers are trained for a year before they step in front of a class. They study anatomy. They understand the power of breath and consciousness. They teach the “how” of the postures but also the why, the intent, the meaning, the benefit, and the joy. In my humble opinion, Jen Reed is the best yoga teacher in all of Portland. What you will learn from her does not equate to “I do yoga” but elevates to a higher plane of, “I am the best, fittest, most aware human I can be.” All that for $40 unlimited for your first month. How can you go wrong?

This “Yoga Studio” is completely and totally unethical. I have been touched without consent in their classes. I have been guilted for crying when communicating with “Yoga Teachers.” These people are not trauma informed and are unsafe and abusive practitioners who effectively exclude and shame anyone living with trauma. I would not recommend this studio to anyone.

The facilities are the cleanest of any yoga studios I’ve been do. The vibe is calm, the classes are warm, and it doesn’t smell like a foot. Also, the bathrooms and showers are top notch. Anything you need can be borrowed or rented - it’s all free if you bike or take transit. Pricing: First month is $40 unless you have a friend take you for the first time then it’s $30. To sign up after the 30 days it’s $85 unless you take 10 classes during the intro month, then it’s $65. Awesome place! I highly recommend.

Love this studio! I dropped by with a friend to check out their January 2018 promotion. One month trial for $40! We walked in and were immediately impressed with the bright and calming environment. The owner happened to be working and she gave us a lovely tour. The locker rooms are super clean. They have q-tips, hair blow dryers and body wash for you after your classes and the lockers themselves are the perfect size. Definitely check them out!

Love the classes, the teachers and the space. I'm an avid yogi but have always had a hard time with hot yoga (getting dizzy easily, etc.) -- this is the first heated yoga studio where I have not had any issues. The classes are challenging but slow- to moderately-paced, connected to breath (as yoga always should be), and all-around wonderful!

This studio and the teachers are boosting the quality of my life.

I read the reviews and decided to make a call and see how things worked and Amber was amazing and so helpful because I know nothing of yoga except how to spell it ;) I have taken two classes already and signed up for my month. A great place with awesome people that make everyone feel welcome.

Modo is the nicest yoga studio in Portland. And even better than the studio are the people running it.
