Did Portland really need another yoga studio?
Yeah, it did.
Modo PDX. Our city is finally complete.
I’ve done yoga for over 20 years with countless teachers in several cities around the world. I was searching. Then, when I found Modo Yoga I felt like I’d found it.
But that’s esoteric talk, and specific to my experience. Let’s start with the fact that Modo Yoga offers a profound and powerful community. It begins here in Portland at Jen Reed’ studio and follows you around as you travel for work or pleasure to other Modo cities. I really feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself, and something really good.
Modo PDX has the most beautiful yoga studio in Portland (and I’ve showered in most of them!) It is clean, welcoming, and, most importantly, inspiring. Whereas other hot yoga is actually hot (and dour and smelly), Modo PDX is warm and cozy; it opens you.
Modo teachers seem to be more fully educated in the knowledge and practice of yoga than other teachers who studied the “how” of postures for a weekend or a couple of weeks. Modo teachers are trained for a year before they step in front of a class. They study anatomy. They understand the power of breath and consciousness. They teach the “how” of the postures but also the why, the intent, the meaning, the benefit, and the joy.
In my humble opinion, Jen Reed is the best yoga teacher in all of Portland. What you will learn from her does not equate to “I do yoga” but elevates to a higher plane of, “I am the best, fittest, most aware human I can be.”
All that for $40 unlimited for your first month. How can you go wrong?
