Great place for the community.

Crunch is solid. Great prices and lets be honest when you are paying like 10 bucks a month. You can expect lots of people during the busy hours, just like basically all gyms, even the expensive ones. Just go after 8:30PM and your solid. Don't act like you need to watch net fix ALL night.

Igor Bonarov

Constantly in the shower cold water. Finally give normal

I have to say, the flow of people coming into this gym has died down dramatically since it's opening a month ago. Of course they signed a bunch of people up because they have a business to run, but are all these people going to be at the gym the same time? No. I've been going daily aroung peak time (5:30PM to 6:30PM) and it has not been nearly as crowded as when they first opened. Plus, for 19.95 you get unlimited tanning! Try to find a tanning salon in Portland that has a better deal for stand up beds. The "Awe" factor has died down so don't be hesitant to come in because you think it will be packed. Their machines are all brand new and state of the art and they have an open floor workout area with TRX, kettle bells, wall balls, boxes, jump rope, etc. incase you want to get a little Crossfit in as well.

Lots of cardio, could use more free weight space. Hours aren't great. No basketball, no pool, no sauna. But it's CHEAP!

LILLY CRAVER

A true no judgment zone! My girlfriend and I love working out here on a daily basis. . friendly staff, friendly fellow members. Having a blast getting in shape and making friends. Free classes like zumba and yoga. Awesome cardio & weight machines, and tons of free weights. Cool personal trainers, and with peak membership, free tanning! If on a budget, it is only $10 a month and $5 for tans. . Peak is only $20 with the free tan perks..totally worth it :) Come join the fun!

As the lady stated below it is very busy, which is a good thing to see that people are interested in working out. But I figure that most people sign up for something new and then become disinterested and stop. So with that said, I love it there! I feel very comfortable, and I wish to add that I am no beauty queen, and like their motto says no judgments, and there doesn't seem to be any. I have found a machine each and every time I have been there, no problem, no wait. I am so glad I signed up!

Chuck Carroll

BE SURE TO GET YOUR CANCELLATION IN WRITING. I cancelled my membership only to be billed again after 3 months. Apparently "cancelled" means "3 month freeze". I had recently moved (which is why I cancelled) and they said I can only cancel at their location. Eventually I got my money back, but it was a huge PITA. A couple years later, I started coming here again and haven't had any issues. Staff seems chill. If you simply need a gym to work out and do cardio, this is the gym for you. I usually go later on in the day and I rarely have to wait to use equipment.

Bsag A

Ollie Caron-Noble

Great if you're an early morning person, but it gets sooo crowded after 5pm! Basically to the point that it's impossible to work out. I'm guessing because it's so cheap? I ended up cancelling my membership even though they're only a mile from my house because the thought of having to elbow my way between a wall of sweaty dudes to get to the free weights was too much - I wish they could expand their space!

I share some of the same sentiments as others who have posted their negative reviews. I canceled my account 6 months ago or so I thought. I happened to check my online banking and noticed a charge on my statement. I went in to Crunch Division the upcoming weekend (3 days after charge). I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that I wanted to see about getting a charge refunded on my account. She was very rude and snarky as she brushed me off and said that we don’t refund charges here, without even hearing the details of my situation. After I told her the details, that I had canceled my account months ago and still was charged she decided to provide some customer service and look up my account on the computer. She told me that my account was on a six month freeze so that’s why I was charged.....ok....I thought it was canceled but oh well. I’m not losing much sleep over $19.95...Her attitude while providing service to me was so off putting that I decided to write a complaint. When the manager responded she offered an apology and mentioned that the interaction was discussed with the employee..BUT..she also mentioned that the employee was “thrown off by a member demanding a refund” which drove me to share this experience. “Demanding” carries a negative undertone and that’s definitely not how the situation was broached. As a college educated, mild mannered, full-time working homeowner I felt completely disrespected by that. Maybe the staffer did feel some sort of way after I had to repeat why I was there as she stared at me in a condescending manner..maybe it was because I’m an African American male...idk...PS I was never offered a refund :)

STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. We actually liked the gym, but we moved. We went in and cancelled our membership and even asked to put on a list to be notified of future gyms and we would happily come back. They are still billing us even though we cancelled in time, they say there is nothing they can do and give us a number to call in Caliy. We even have the little slips of paper that say we cancelled in time and owe them nothing. Figured they would be different then the big gyms, guess they all are the same. Save yourself the headache join a bigger gym your still going to have the hassle of cancelling your membership and stop them from charging your card. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY

It may get packed like sardines at times but overall they have all the equipment you would need or want. Can't be the price! Staff is friendly.

Like the gym. A little too crowded. Hours SUCK on the weekends!

Enroll at planet fitness up in 122nd. It is larger, has brand new equipment, and it is the same price. Crunch ain't bad but planet is much nicer.

Chill gym environment. As far as professional employees and managers there they sucks. I went in last month to make a payment towards the yearly fee and my November to cancel in person. It literally took 30 minutes because the dumb ass Sam or should I say Uncle Sam who was helping me started helping everyone else that came in after. I asked for my receipt of cancellation and payment twice but he told me I was good. My fault for not leaving without one. Next month I get charged, I have no receipt and plus I paid with cash. Dumbass didn't leave any notes of payment or any proof of cancellation. I asked the manager Samantha if he was there and she stated they fired him! So after talking to Darrell that same morning before Samantha. I was told she would reimburse me but nope she instead argued but he did cancel my membership over the phone; which they dnt do. Just waiting on the email she would send. At this point it's not about stupid ten bucks its the principal! So now I'm disputing it with my bank and switching out my card. Moral of the story always leave with a receipt of your purchase or whatever, crunch gym on division, PO service sucks but good gym to get in and out for a workout!

Stephanie Johnson

If you enjoy having your workout dictated by whatever machine you can jump on or whatever little amount of space you can find, then maybe you'll like it here. They're beyond over-crowded, and still signing people up. Speaking of signing people up, if you think you'll save time by signing up online, don't think that. They have the WORST ran line known to mankind. There's a guy that just stands there and it looks like he's trying to navigate the people that walk through the front door, but I don't think he makes the slightest difference. People that walk-in and sign up have to fill out paper work, right? Well, they get to fill out their paperwork and hold up the line, even though there are people that have signed up online that ONLY need their picture taken and to pick up their card. Realistically, you can do two of those online people before that other person is done with their papers. And that probably would've saved 15 minutes of my life alone. Think of how many other lives it could've helped. So, let me get back to it being extremely over-crowded. The whole lobby is packed with people whenever I've gone. And then after fighting past those people to scan my card, I have to run around between aisles to find an open machine. Any machine. Weights, cardio, whatever. Every machine has someone on it. Even the floor area has people laying across it doing poorly executed sit-ups or planks. I looked into a Zumba class and it was shoulder to shoulder. Gross. And I've tried different times of day ever since they opened. I'm on this side of town (after getting off work) around 4:00. My boyfriend and I have tried going directly after work. We've tried the next hour. The next hour. And the next hour. So apparently, the only time you might not have to wait for a machine, is around 10:00pm. Well, I'll be generous and say maybe around 9:30pm. And it's still pretty busy, but there's a handful of open machines vs fighting for one. And again, they're STILL signing people up. Good for their business, bad for anyone that was hoping to workout. And this is everything I don't like since after this gym has opened. I had a problem as soon as I signed up because their website is misleading. It said NOTHING about the fact that it wasn't open or it was going to open in late February. It also linked to email addresses and phone numbers that weren't connected, so I couldn't figure out why they already charged me for something that wasn't actually open. I had to email corporate just to get the actual owner's attention. Of course, THEN he responded. He said when I went in, he'd give us a t-shirt for our troubles. I got jack squat. Not that I really need a shirt, but I don't like being told I'd be given something for being mislead, and then not getting anything. Why? Because I'm being mislead again, DUH. So yeah, unless you like your time being wasted and spending most of your gym time just hoping a machine you want to be on will open up, I'd avoid this one. It's cheap, but you might as well not pay anything for how much time you just spend waiting around at this place.

Patricia Tovar

Love the staff very friendly but the cleaning staff need to be replaced with a better cleaning staff the woman's bathroom is always very dirty I have to bring my own cleaning supplies to clean before I use the bathroom and the handicap shower this is a every time I come in

Poor business practices Turns out you have to pay 10 days before your next payment is due. Otherwise they still charge you for the next month. We were moving and had to pay an extra month when we weren't even there anymore. They had one of their billing guys call to collect.

Low cost place to workout without judgement. Nothing too fancy. No pool and showers are kinda falling apart. If you're looking for bells and whistles, this probably isnt for you. If your looking for friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere for solid workouts at an affordable price, check it out.

This gym is a financial scam! Non existant customer service. I stopped going here in June 2017 and 5 month later am getting a letter from attornys at a collection agency! This is the most rediculus customer service model for any business that solely depend on its members I have ever seen! I had autopay set up and the customer service agent told me during my sign up that Iwould be billed for the month I use. So when I did not see any charges in my credit card after I stopped going, I thought he was right. And few days ago, I got a letter from collection, saying that I owe them $99.80!! Even, if I had to pay, they could have mailed me first, making follow up with me!! The reason I stopped going was because of busy schedule and packed schedule in summer and fall and I was thinking of returning but now, not only will I ever use this gym, but will also not recommend this to anyone. I have reviewed so many places in google, but this may be the worst of them all.

If you're doing weights and cardio, its ok. However, if you want to warm up, or do pushups/crunches/crossfit/your own routine, good luck finding a spot where you aren't in the trainers way. Today I went inside the large classroom so I could stretch in peace, and a trainer came in with a client, and turned on the loud speaker system. For one person. I also see the trainers making their clients do things which I highly doubt they would do on their own, and aren't sustainable. When I had my own free trainer trial, I specifically told her I wanted to learn how to lift heavy (I'm a female). She then handed me 2lb dumbbells, a wood stick to squat with, and encouraged me to do longer sets with lighter weights. So, if you know what you're doing, and don't need your own bubble, this place is ok. Don't use the trainers, and don't expect to have room to yourself.

Chelsea Naylor

Too Fly

Good gym for the price, it's gets crowded at times, but you can never go wrong if you take your time to warm up you'll easily snag a spot.

I've been a member and frequent this specific location for about a year, staff always greets you with a smile sometimes by name

Actually, this gym is really clean and an amazing price, however, I was so taken aback by Scott, the personal trainer who "suddenly could not work with me anymore" after we made a connection, things were going good, and I was thinking about buying a package. I stopped going shortly after that, because I lost motivation and felt slightly embarrassed because I always saw him when I was doing a session or coming in on my own. It had such potential :( If you are going to go, I recommend Zach L!

Hali Anderson

Very basic with cardio machines and weights and a large class room area. Very affordable, but not open very late on the weekends (8pm) which is unfortunate.

Yusuuf Geraad

Nice place

Edwin Le

Ehh. There are tons of cardio machines but weights are always crowded. The squat racks are occupied most of the time. It might be a good deal if you don't mind waiting a while. The trainers are a bit iffy, they try to conserve a huge area that they usually don't use. One of them shooed me off a squat rack even though his trainee didn't use it. Maybe I just had a bad experience that day. All in all, it's good if you only go to the gym once in a while due to the low price. I would consider a different gym if not.

Eldon Hutchins

Someone broke into my locker and stole 100 bucks! I go to the front desk to file a complaint and she says I'm the 6th person that day to get money stolen from them! 6 people in one day!!! You would think after the second person they would put up a sign or tell people as they were coming in......something like......hey this sucks but Someone has been breaking into the lockers...help us catch the person. 6 lockers in one day is out of hand. Might make a good news story..... I know they claim there not responsible but you could atleast be letting people know there is a thief present.....

Cheap, Yes. Crowded, YES! It lacks any unassisted squat racks or any straight bars for dead lifts or other variations which a straight bar is needed. Heads up they have an annual once a year maintenance fee of $30 billed on Jan 1st, (if you signup after jan 1st it will bill you on May 1st), so you're not going i'd recommending canceling your subscription before either of those dates. You can get it at $10 a month subscription regardless of what they say in the store, look online and be persistent about their $10 advertising online, don't let them charge you more.

Nathan

Great place to exercise, accessible location, excellent staff and personal trainers available. If only they had as good of taste in music as they did in equipment. :P

Evie Jinx

Your employees need to be trained on policies and quit misinforming customers. Was told I could email my cancellation because I moved and there are no crunch fitness centers close by. They provided the wrong email address, called back to get the correct one and they told me they aren't allowed to accept email cancellations. The manager refused to speak with me when I requested. Very unprofessional and now I have to mail a letter of my cancellation so they can charge me another month? What a scam! No wonder these people need to steal extra months worth of memberships. Don't waste your money and go to 24hourfitness or even planet fitness has better equipment and employees.

A clean gym with lots of well maintained equipment to choose from. This is a 4 star review due to how crowded it always seems to be when I’m working out. (Due to working a 9-5 I’m possibly there only during the peak times?)

edmarlopez10

Tons of equipment for a cheap monthly price

Michigan Daddy

The layout is not good , its just one BIG room. Very 2 dimensional, personally I like when there are clear sections to the gym; reason being it makes it easier to concentrate and looks better as well. The service is pretty good actually, the trainers are not overbearing and I'm not badgered about the rules like at planet fitness. Expect for one stickler that worked the evenings, he was mad at the world I think poor guy. For the price... the equipment is good and has everything you would typically need, unless you are doing raw strength training.

CodyStop Representative Hermes

Good for the price. I went to another gym, only because my hours available don't match what this gym provides. The staff seem friendly. They seem to be knowledgeable, but you can never fully trust a personal trainer.

I don't really write bad reviews but I had such a negative and gut wrenching experience with the "manager" Samantha and I was cheated out of $40.00 for an annual maintenance fee. The girl rotated her head in several unnecessary circles at me when I asked if there was something to do about my account being charged on a Sunday on Easter. I told her I even spoke with someone on the phone who told me to come in and sign a paper to cancel my membership and that I would be reimbursed the money. She rolled her neck some more and asked me who I spoke with ? Like I was lying about Crunch calling me ? I asked to speak with her manager or someone else and she got to twirling her neck again. Anyway terrible, inappropriate costumer service. I think she is a little jaded and worked to long at crunch. Idk maybe she was having a bad day. How you a manager and have no costumer service skills tho? I'm sad about my experience cause now I have a bad taste in my mouth about Crunch. Anyway Pros: Cheap price. Decent equipment. Cons: Entitled, awry, defensive crunch fitness managers, Goober employees, dirty equipment. But hey 10 bucks is 10 bucks ? Amiright.

Really dissatisfied with the service here. Cancelling membership here was a major pain. I've had much better experiences at LA Fitness and other local gyms.

Autumn Fetty

my thach

Been gone for a year. Came back to re-issue my new payment method. I had a past due of 150 (12 months plus 30.00 maintenance fee. They said I couldn't renew my membership until i paid their past due. Which is ridiculous because if I had attempted to come inside the gym during any of the months with a past due balance; I wouldn't have been allowed inside unless i have paid my past due, therefore there is a restriction to using their services. In my opinion, a past due balance is services owed, and the balances are for compensation for having access to their services. If I could not have access to their services because I had a past due; then why I am I being billed every month? I bet they continue to add every month in which I'm not paying. Only way to come back is to pay for all the months I have "not" paid for, is a terrible consumer model.

My favorite place for gym.

Good place with great employees.

Melissa Rae

Don’t waste your time. They have severe communication problems with members. There is no way to get in touch with anybody regarding billing. Front desk clerks and front desk managers will insist you repeat the situation again because they’re so important they have to know what’s going on, only to tell you they cannot help you and you have to talk to billing, which you knew when you called. They have $99 of mine they won’t give back and yet saying I owe them $80. Idiots abound. Too many gyms in town to waste your time here.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I had fraud on my account and my card was cancelled and I didn't notice that my billing for the gym had stopped. Crunch kept billing my account for months I WASN'T even using. Also, if you don't cancel. They will just keep billing your account and they told me that they will send me to collections after 120 days. Bad business. I even offered to pay half of my balance and they only agreed to waive the $10 late fee. Baloney. Bad business.

Really used to love going here have been a member for almost 2 years . i will be looking elsewhere. They have wayyyyyy to many members and just keep signing up more and more everyday. The time i can go usually between 4-7 is always stupid busy. I cant even plan a workout plan because my workout is dictated by whatever piece of equipment i am lucky to get... They can have my 10 bucks this month id rather spend more money and get a good workout and results going to the crapfest that is crunch fitness division

Lot's of cardio and weight lifting machines, which is nice. There is no room to do any floor work. They have the area where classes are done and an area where the personal trainer will eyeball you till they need you to move for their clients.

Todd Edwards

This gym is a huge ripoff. I specifically told them I wanted to go month to month for the flat rate of 9.95 a month which is advertised. Ok. So I signed up and gave them my debit card and 32.95 was taken off my card. I guess for start up fees. Then, 30 days later I see that they deducted 19.95 from my card automatically. So I go to the gym and inquired about this and they said that I agreed to the peek membership which was 19.95. I told them no I did not agree to that. They said yes that I had even signed an agreement. I told them I absolutely never agreed to that and they showed me a form with my name on it but my signature was not my hand writing. These people are con artists, criminals, forgers and I am going to bring them up on charges. They are a terrible company

This Crunch is falling apart, they have not had working wifi for the last couple of days. No idea when it will be fixed. They got rid off different shampoo and soap dispensers, you'll have to shower with the same soap as the hand soap. No on wipes down equipment after use, when I mentioned it to staff they just went "meh". There should be a little more customer service going on besides having to watch staff on Facebook all throughout my work out.

The fakest gym in Vancouver. Heroin needles or steroid needles in the bathroom. Never mopped floor. Horrible staff the changes every week because they can't keep good people.

Awesome place, haven't experienced it yet being overly busy. Excellent equipment; just put in your headphones and goto town. Only bad part was when you sign up they REALLY try and sell you in a personal trainer but it's cool, they gotta make a living so I understand.

Maxim Kuznetsov

I wouldn't give even 1 star for that Crunch on 12112 SE Division St, Portland, OR 97236 , but I have to write this review! I have cancelled memberships for me 1.5 months ago and for my wife and daughter about 3 or more months ago! After a while I noticed the Crunch resumed charge my credit card after all accounts cancellation!!! Today I went to them to get money back! Samantha, in very rude manner, explained me that our memberships just have been frozen for 3 months and she is very sorry for any misunderstanding! She told that Crunch have to charge me again to close our membership! But for what?!!! I swear in God I asked them to cancel our membership! And what the staff has been done? They lied when they said that our membership has been cancelled! They just changed our membership status on frozen status when we asked to cancel! Samantha said that Crunch is not going to refund my money back! I signed the cancellation request with feeling I have been robbed by Crunch workers in intention! I read all negative reviews about that Crunch and realized that they have same system to steal from their customers! Guys, keep yourself far away from those thieves and scammers!

Ryan Antunez

Killer staff, love the lax family feel environment. Would choose this gym over LA, 24, or planet any day.

The gym is ok. The customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I was going to be a week and a half late one my dues so i called them and told them I was sorry I would pay all fees when I got paid. The next morning and every morning since they call me about my past due amount. When I was told i could only cancel my account by coming into the gym I was pissed. Then I went into the gym to cancel and you cant cancel until you pay everything in full. THATS RIGHT YOU CAN NOT CANCEL UNTIL YOU PAY THEM OFF. ROBBERY. SWINDLING. This company will over charge you and milk you for every cent they can.

Melissa Kirby

Easy access to machines and low membership fee make this place 5 stars. For 10 bucks you can use the basic no frills facility and get in a great workout. There's personal training and classes if you desire that at additional cost

I always feel so gross after working out here. The weights are sticky & black. The gresham location is cleaner.

Lots of qtpie cardio bunnies. Plenty of DYELs and curlbros to laugh at. Cheap as fuuark + no contract is unbeatable. Bretty good gym for people that actually lift.
