I'm just a regular white dude who had never before danced in life - not even at school prom! Understandably I was very nervous therefore when I had to do a dance for our wedding with my Indian bride-to-be, in front of all our family and friends. I took a few lessons from Priya. Within 1 lesson itself, she helped me find my comfort level, breaking down the mechanics of each move and showing me how to find the rhythm. The dance she put together for us was a big hit - I could never have imagined being able to do that on my own. I highly recommend her services for effective dance presentations.

At the Raleigh Internatinol Festival 2014 Priya and her students were amazing, Indigo Dance Evolution Academy’s performances was with Grace, Elegance and the crowd cheered and loved it. The detail and time spend to costumes, the time spend on henna, hair, makeup. All I can add is WOW, Priya’s skills and her talent is unmatched to any teacher I have known. “ INTERNATIONAL DANCE COMPETITION at the 29TH RALEIGH INT'L FESTIVAL 2014. As the SCORING RESULTS were being announced.... It was hard to keep our excitement down...we all listened with our hearts aglow to the wonderful feedback from the panel of celebrity judges..all praise ...and great scores to match:)! 25 on 30- this was the HIGHEST in the sub-category of Bollywood!!! Does that OFFICIALLY make them the BEST BOLLYWOOD academy in RTP? Priya taught me dance when l had two left feet and got me performing on stage. ln fact she got my entire family involved in a hit stage production. We look back at that performance from 10 years ago with fond remembrance. However she was a taskmaster and a consummate professional, even with novices like us..demanding discipline and perfection from costumes to voice recording, that resulted in a wonderful presentation. She has added a wonderful dimension to the cultural arts scene here in Raleigh with her festive, energetic and colorful styles of Bollywood dancing. I have been in some of her classes and enjoyed every show and performance that I saw. I find Priya to be very knowledgeable and skilled, not just with music from India, (her choice by the way is always on point and catches the audience's fancy- even if they don't understand the language!) but also from America, right from current day back to retro songs. My wife and me approached Priya to help us train for a specific Bollywood dance routine for the introduction at our daughter's wedding. Priya did an hour long assessment first and she gauged what our capabilities were. As part of the assessment, Priya broke down the steps for each individual move for me, told me how to listen to the rhythm, make the body become the beat and then made me practice the mini steps over and over again right there and there. I really needed that since I have 2 left feet. My wife has always been far ahead of me and she was given a more advanced dance routine. To my amazement, I was able to pick up the series of the moves based on the mini routines setup for me. But my elation was short lived, since Priya then mixed the hand and feet movements for the coordination and asked me to practice the new steps and deliver on the spot again. After just one lesson, we went home with hope and new found confidence that we wont be disappointing our daughter at her wedding. Priya is very methodical in doing her assessment and is extremely good at what she does. To be able to teach some one not trained in dance and music is a gift and a special talent and Priya has this. Recommend her highly to anyone looking to expand their horizons and capabilities in the realm of dance, music and culture

I heard so much about Indigo Dance academy that I decided to join the class in Spring, it was a short commitment that allowed me to take it with my busy schedule. It was a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, everyone was helpful, friendly and I was instantly at ease. The class is well-paced, & we learnt a number of styles. Best part is how humble and patient Priya is, given her vast experience of many years in this profession. She is present physically even for absolute newbies. That shows a level of care for her students I have not experienced with others. I had a great time, and did not expect to learn so much so quickly! I don't a big school with large numbers could give me this level of individual attention. I definitely recommend this class for the high value if offers. Priya helped my wife and wife choreograph and perfect our wedding dance. We both have no formal dance experience and basically have two left piece, and Priya helped us make a masterpiece. Everyone at my wedding was blown away. Priya is one tough cookie. She honestly worked harder then me and my wife did for this dance. She put in extra effort, did extra choreographing, stayed for extra time, and pushed us to be our absolute best. She has a very bollywoodesque style - she likes mixing classic bollywood songs with modern punjabi rap and also knows how to mix in modern hip hop (we used bruno mars). She will be tough on you if you hire her, but thats exactly what you need. Plus it was so much fun! I highly recommend her as a dance instructor, and hope that I will get to work with her again!

I joined Priya school in this year and short time only I learn already so much about Indian culture and teachers. And Priya is spiritual, who is caring to each her student. Priya did an awesome job of training a group of 15-20 people for a 30+ min Diwali show organized in Atlanta. Priya contributed in almost every aspect of the whole dance performance, this including: Identifying a place for dance practice, selecting the songs, planning the story, scripting and recording the scripts, burning CDs for our practice, help with identifying the costumes, organizing the makeup artists and good choreography . At the end, Priya did deliver outstanding dancers in the show and the crowd simply loved it. Did I mention that most of our group members had no prior dance experience to show case in the stage?... well, it all changed because of Priya and our friends who supported us all the way to make this happen. My husband and I first learned of Priya through a friend, who had used her services to choreograph their first dance at their wedding. After seeing the video, I was convinced! I contacted Priya and she was amazing from start to finish. She started off with a 1-hour consultation, which she was extremely flexible with, accommodating us when one of us had to facetime in to the conversation. She got a feel for what kind of music we both like, as well as what kind of dancing we wanted to do. We hired her for a short and cute dance at our Mehndi celebration, and a longer medley for our Valima (reception) first dance. She was sweet, professional, and knowledgeable. She came up with a long list of suggested songs and had us rank them. Through that, she came up with a wonderful medley of songs. In the beginning, we were a little apprehensive because our dancing skills were not up to snuff. However, we were pleasantly surprised at her immense patience and clear love for dancing and music. We had a truncated timeline, but Priya worked very very hard with us to accommodate our busy schedules as medical students. Within our short time together, she taught us the basics of bollywood, waltzing, salsa, and bhangra. She reassured us about our abilities to create an amazing performance, and she was right! Our friends still cannot stop talking about how magical and ethereal we looked. They said they felt like they were in a Bollywood movie! All in all, we highly, highly recommend Priya for her couples dancing lessons. She is an incredible teacher and coach! We are so thankful to have found her.
