DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM THE HAVE THE MOST STUPID CANCELATION POLICY, I HAVE PROVIDED ALL THE PROOF OF ME MOVING TO A DIFFERENT STATE AND STILL THEY WONT CANCEL. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE REPS AT GOLD GYM THEY LIE SO YOU GET THE MEMEBERSHIP. ALSO WHEN I SIGNED UP THE GOLD GYM REPRESENTATIVE NEVER INFORMED ABOUT ALL THE FEES AND HOW MUCH OF HASSLE IT IS TO.CANCLE THIS DAMN MEMBERSHIP. I have been to gold gym in different state but dont go to any of them in Charlotte THEY ALL ARE OWNED BY SAME PEOPLE FAKE PEOPLE N LIARS. I WILL BE FILLING A CASE AGAINST THEM IF THEY DO NOT CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP IF U DO PLAN ON CANCELING KEEP A DAMN LAWYER. ENJOY!

Unfortunately, I am going to have to find another gym. I've been a member here since they opened. It was great when they started as it was well kept and convenient. Slowly, it has dwindled down to a mess if a place. Doors very seldom work, machines aren't cleaned and not properly serviced and working as they should. Another gentleman and I, just this morning, both tried at least 3 treadmills before we found ones that worked but neither of our attached TVs work. I've tried calling before and could never get anyone that was directly affiliated with this gym. I just give up. It's a shame as it is so close to where we live, but just not worth the headaches to get stuff up and running when you get here.

I went in last week to take a small tour of the gym. The gym was ok. It felt very used car sales tactics type of a membership, The first thing I was shown in my tour of the gym was all the supplements I could buy (it felt like I was being sold supplements and the gym membership was an afterthought), they charge you $99 for a sign-up fee but then are going to give you some type of credit towards other products. Why not just discount the fee in the first place. At the end of the tour I asked that my personal information would not be put on a mailing list or used to contact me in anyway. The folks at the counter said "don't worry we won't do that", then I started receiving texts and emails from golds gym so they put my information on both a text list and an email list anyway. I had to call back and have my information removed from the lists, I hope they keep their word and do it. There are plenty of other gyms around the area to choose from that have much better customer service. I do not post reviews much but everyone should know this before going to this gym.

Worst management. Worst cancellation policy. We were members for over a year. Constant issues with broken equipment or TVs not working. When staff was working (which wasn't often) they would comment that they would take care of it but no results. When we cancelled our membership due to moving, we were told that we had to mail in our keys with no further access to the gym. We were then charged for 2 more months. When I called the franchise owner, I was told that the location "should have issued us temporary keys to use and that the billing cycle runs for an additional month". No refund given. No concern. Just told me they were addressing several issues at our location that would help customers in the future.

My family has a membership at Gold's and it has been wonderfully convient to get a workout in when my wife and I visit our family here in charlotte for the holidays. Our most recent visit our entire family enjoyed a challenging but fun spin class together with Sue as our instructor! She was so motivating and acomidating to our skill levels. Having such motivated instructors makes a world of difference in your workout experience.

I first went into this gym expecting a used car salesman tactic but Kaeshv really went into making me feel at home and did not pressure me at all and even helped me out in a lot of ways to where I would actually see my money again. He is a great guy and the gym facilitates are great. I really see myself being a member of this gym for a very long time no complaints here

Gold’s Gym North Lake is such an awesome, fun, and open environment. The staff is extremely welcoming, the other members of the gym become your friends, and the equipment is kept in great condition. Overall this has been my best experience at a gym. Highly recommended.

Great local gym that has done a 180 since new management took over. Staff is responsive to questions/comments. Its great seeing the same faces in the gym everyday as consistency is important. Chelsea is always running around ensuring everything is in its place which shows compared to other gyms where weights and other equipment are scattered all over the place.

Total and absolute scam. I went to cancel my membership and lo and behold, for me and my wife, they told me it would cost me $150 to cancel (why oh why do they need "advance notice" to cancel you). I didn't have that much money, and didn't want to pay it, but I gritted my teeth, brought in the $150 the next day, at which point they said, "oh, now it's $180, because we added an extra $15 late fee to both of your accounts." Excuse me? This is after I had the person WRITE DOWN how much I owed the day before so I would know how much to bring. Now I understand why I kept seeing people get so angry at the front desk so many times over the last two years. This place cares about one thing and one thing only - money. They don't give a flying fig about customers (as evidenced by the fact it takes them MONTHS to fix broken equipment). Just google "Gold's Gym scams" and you'll understand what I mean. Will never set foot in another one of these places again. They took me for thousands of dollars and then nickel and dimed me out of even more when I cancelled. I sincerely hope they go out of business. They deserve nothing less.

Honestly this gym is twice the size of anytime fitness down the road, and half the price. Also double the equipment. Everybody here is professional. No judgement from anyone no matter what level you are at with your training. The staff are all knowledgable individuals who treat each person with the same amount of respect. It's a 24/7 gym, so you can come when you like.

Akeen Brown is the most unprofessional personal trainer I have ever dealt with. I run my own business and I would never treat my clients this way. I sent him money over a month ago for four sessions and I have yet to be accommodated for my first session. I always have to text him first and try to schedule with him and then he blows me off. I genuinely feel like he took my money and never had any intention of training me. He sent me one meal plan not even knowing my weight, height or my goals. He said since he sent me the meal plan he would not refund me the money. I asked him to send the money to another trainer who would be more accommodating and motivating/ positive for me and he wouldn’t. He also said “let’s just knock these four sessions out in one week and be done with this”... unfortunately I paid for not only weekly sessions... but meal plans... daily check ins ... and work outs and I have barely received any type of positive/motivational information from him yet I’ve already paid in full. I just went through a break up and someone approaching me at the mall for sex trafficking and I was really looking for positive reinforcement and confidence. I picked Akeen because he has experience in self defense but this is honestly the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced.

I have been a member for 5 years. It's a small gym perfect for locals. Unfortunately the restrooms are disgusting with urine on floors, and no hand soap. Gyms are known for being a breeding ground for germs, but this place goes too far. I find it hard to believe grown adults run this facility yet don't have the common sense to provide hand soap in restrooms for their customers. Restrooms need to be cleaned with Chlorox daily.

This facility is very clean and well taken care of. It has great equipment with a very friendly staff. The general manager, Kaveh, is very professional, outgoing and made the sign up process very easy. He took the time to explain all the options carefully and I did not even to bother to explore further gyms before signing up with him. Thank you for your help Kaveh!

I've been a member for just over a year. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and outgoing. I like the fact that they have taken the time to get to know me and what I am hoping to get out of my workouts. The gym fits my lifestyle perfectly, with the 24 hour availablity can go whenever I have the time. I would easily recommend this gym to anyone

It is a small shoe box gym with tight areas. The 24 HR access does not work with the badge and on last 2 visits, Saturday & Sunday, the towel service wasn't available, the computerized check didn't work, and bathroom was dirty and shower for the men hasn't worked in numerous days. It would be appreciated if a client could use benefits offered. Rethinking my joining this gym. 1 year later and this gym has worsened, if that was even possible. Numerous people on 07/20/2019 were wishing they also joined a different gym. Would prefer a better gym experience, but Highland Creek is very very limited - shame too. Recommend noone spend their money at this "gym" as too many problems that continue to grow in number.

When I first started going to this gym (about a year ago) I thought it had the potential to be 5-Stars but as I have continued my membership my expectation decreased. I think my initial dissatisfaction really started from day one, but I had a hope that things would get better. Despite its lack of a stretch area, and classes, we signed up for this small gym 20 mins from our house. We should've have listened to our gut because this gym still has not lived up to the potential it could have. On the initial day we signed up we voiced our concerns to the desk clerk. She ensured that any problems we had would be resolved with the arrival of their new location. She confirmed that the bigger location would have a better stretch area, more classes, and an overall larger facility. For the price you pay for this small location, we could easily be at a gym with more amenities. But, the idea we could transition into a new and bigger gym, made us okay settling for a few months. As time has gone on, we have realized we were set up. It has been almost a year since we first signed up, and the larger facility is no where near completion. I drove past the supposed "new facility" earlier this afternoon, and the building is still in shambles. The old sign is up, and there is still full construction needed inside. The desk clerk lied to us from day one. Buyer Beware: There are several other gyms in the area with better amenities, better machines, more variety of classes, better service, and better prices. There really isn't any point of joining this gym, as it does nothing to outshine the other gyms in the area.

From day one my experience at Gold's Gym has been amazing! I regularly visit the North Lake location for my regular workouts. Beginning as a "Novice," I felt it was best to gain some knowledge from a fitness professional before starting my journey. Once assigned to trainer Austin Collins and consistently working with Austin over an expansive period has exceeded all my expectations. Austin understood my personal goals from day one and followed through with helping meet those goals. Austin is passionate in sharing his training methods, goal planning and most importantly the mastery of his profession. Overall the staff is amiable, accommodating, and provide a comfortable environment for any level fitness guru. If you're looking for a great trainer and excellent experience I highly encourage requesting Austin at Gold's Gym North Lake.

My biggest complaint are the employees who forget the protocol on the door/key fob for overnight guests to workout. I am here at 5am in a Saturday to workout and the door is not working for me nor my fiancé nor the other 3 people trying to get in. This has happened on MULTIPLE occasions. If this gym isn’t nicer and more up to date after the move to the space beside food lion, we’ll pay whatever we need to pay to terminate our agreement and go elsewhere. Ridiculous.

Completely have to disagree. When it comes to gyms in general you have to deal with equipment issues/ bad management/ un-fair prices. Golds gym has one of the nicest physicality filled with all new equipment, classes you can take, a cardio theater and even tanning. In my honest opinion the 30$ a month is worth every penny if you are getting your life on track and not focused on saving $5 a month which will just be used on gas to get you to the other gym.

I really enjoy working out at this gym. The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is well maintained, and the express gym atmosphere makes it easy to get a quick workout in. I hardly ever have to wait for a bench or machine to open up, and I never have to search for a fresh towel. The new management has really done wonders since taking the reigns! Chelsea & Kaveh are attentive to the needs of their members, and always make me feel welcome as soon as I walk through the door.

I really appreciate how friendly and attentive the staff are. Cleanliness is on point, and I don't find myself compensating with alternative workouts because the options of equipment are spectacular. I can get in, get my workout, not feel stressed out about people hanging out on the equipment, because everyone going here has one goal, and that's to work out. After I reported some concerns that I was having with managnment they quickly responded to my situation... I must admit I was looking for the worst outcome, because sometimes in large gyms they don't want to here what we have to say.. This experience as much different. I was contacted by more than one VP from corporate to help with my issue.. They were very understanding and ensured me that consumer service is their number 1 goal. Thanks again Mike & Sharon

This facility has good equipment and lots of cardio machines with very little, if any, waiting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is good with lots of easy parking. The trainers who work there really know their stuff!!

I was doing a trial membership and it was the last day. I was fully prepared to sign up for a college special (only the summer) for $40, man what a steal right? Well literally what a steal, they got some thieves at this place. Don't go here if you're the type of person who doesn't want your stuff stolen. Needless to say I talked to the worker and no help even though they have cameras everywhere. Apparently those are their to protect THEIR stuff, not yours
