Miss Geraldine is an amazing teacher. I can’t say enough good things about her class—and I can’t recommend Miss Geraldine more highly. My family loves her, and we love the enthusiasm for ballet she has brought into our house. Miss Geraldine knows her students well, and she understands what each of her dancers needs to get and to stay focused. When my daughter was in Miss Geraldine’s Fairy Ballet class last year, she did a mix of follow-the-leader style movement, and imagination-based movement (from tiptoeing around and trying not to wake a sleeping dragon to picnics at the beach, combing their mermaid hair, and plucking seashells from the water), all from the dance studio. This year, Miss Geraldine is bringing her dancers along, and I love watching class with the Nest camera she has set up. The dancers learn listening skills, how to stand in line and wait patiently, how to repeat what the leader is doing. On a more personal note, my daughter completely looks up to Miss Geraldine. Mondays are her favorite days, because she knows she gets to do ballet. One Monday, Miss Geraldine was away teaching a workshop in Canada. My daughter came up with an elaborate plan to get to Canada (by train, with a ticket Santa would give her). She had a meltdown when she got to school that morning, because it wasn’t Canada. Needless to say, of the handful of classes my daughter takes, this is the one she loves most.
