FRAUD ALERT! Great place for dance. However, they fraudulently charged my card and refuse to take the charge back. I had to go to my CC company to get the money back. If you look at the reviews below this is not the first time this has happened. "Don't give your credit card number to this place. They charged my card for 5 months *after* I canceled my membership. I caught it the first, third and fifth month. First month I called the gym reminding them i canceled my membership. The refunded. They kept charging me. Third month I called my bank straight away to dispute the charges. They kept charging me. Fifth month called gym and got attitude from some front desk kid. Filed a formal complaint with visa, affidavit is in the mail for me to sign. Don't give them your credit card. And classes were mediocre at best. Was told by one instructor that what I do "isn't dance"and that I should not come back to his class. Seriously."

An iconic place for dancers. My friend mentioned EXPG to me so I tried their Wednesday night hip-hop jam. It was awesome, just music and good people, dancing like no one cares. $5 entry fee.

Horrible customer service! I purchased 1 month of vocal classes with Craig Derry(very cool vocal coach) at EXPG in November. However it was not as advertised. The classes with Craig Derry at EXPG were always cancelled! And I asked for a refund. The stuff forwarded my claim to the manager and guess what? Not only he never responded, but they kept charging me 120$ in December and January. I am very unhappy with management of EXPG.

The worst studio in NYC. The teachers are often late, bring friends (who don't dance but sit and watch), and are often unprofessional. On top of that, people at the front desk often barely speak any English. My most recent experience was traumatizing: The teacher was 10 minutes late to the class, when he came in he conducted a warm-up to later tell us that there's no choreography but he will play some music and make few moves and all we have to do is follow along. He tested multiple songs, took multiple breaks to practice his movements in the corner which made me feel like I'm wasting my time since I paid for a 90 min class that not only started late but had a lot of breaks. He did not explain any movements, it was not a technique class. It seemed like he was there for himself and himself only. We were charged to watch him practice his freestyle. There were no breaks for us to practice our movements. He was the only one who was taking breaks to pick a song. The level I took was intermediate but obviously, the teacher didn't care as he came to class unprepared. Very disrespectful toward people who dedicate their time and money to learn something. If I had wanted low-intensity cardio class I would have gone to the gym for much less money. The movements were too easy with no structure. When the teacher said that now we're gonna pretend that we're on stage and started twirling while lifting his hand I left. When I asked for my money back (I paid $20 for a hip-hop CHOREOGRAPHY class), the person at the front desk advised me to confront the teacher while he's having the class and refused to give me any point of contact to get my money back. That's not the only unpleasant experience. One of the other teachers made me feel very uncomfortable by hitting on me via IG after the class. I never took his class again. Some other time, the teacher did not show up at all but we all waited 20 minutes for him to turn up. After these experiences, I am sure that I will never go back there and I wouldn't recommend this studio to anyone!

Great studio on the lower East side to learn dancing. Whether you're just beginning or an experienced dancer there is a class for everyone. Has a good community atmosphere.
