Ana, Esther, Jean Rene, Lauren, Nick, Olga...everyone has their own special way of teaching that is equally fun for beginners and those who want to improve. We’ve been hooked on it for 6 years!

I recently came along with a friend who'd purchased some private lessons; these include weekly group practice classes and 'parties' (where everyone can dance with the teachers), plus the ability to bring a friend. I had so much fun - all the teachers are wonderful professional dancers, and extremely friendly & encouraging! New students can buy 2 initial lessons for $60 which is amazing value, as professional lessons anywhere are typically $100 + each. The studio has recently moved to a temp location of Colombus & 83rd St - you can walk past and see dancing in action, so definitely pop by if you're interested at all in learning - this is a great place to start!!

Its about money here, not dancing. It costs about twice the price of other studios, many of which have better teachers. They just try to make you feel good about yourself and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. We came from another Arthur Murray studio, and both studios told us we were welcome to attend group lessons in NY (while taking privates only in our other studio). They constantly tried to sell us their expensive private lessons in NY too (one instructor in a group lesson even ignored other students to try to convince us to buy more privates), and after we didn't bite for a few times they changed their mind and told us we weren't welcome at their group lessons. We're now paying half the price for more serious lessons at a studio that isn't all about selling and bullshit.

Had a crash course in Viennese Waltz before a wedding (I know, I know...). By all accounts, we hit it out of the park. Would recommend giving them more than five lessons in two weeks for such a feat, but the results were fantastic given the last minute urgency.

Highly skilled staff, awesome studio and great community of dance enthusiasts! I've been going to this studio since May when the new owner took over. I started dancing 2.5 years ago as a form of exercise and to learn a new social skill. I now cannot think of a single day without dancing. Mostly, I have my teacher, Esther, to thank for my love of dancing. She is just incredible. I've also taken lessons from other teachers here and, in my view, they are all great. Of course they have different styles and strengths, so best is letting them know what you want so they can pair you with the right teacher. The new owner, Aleks, has been trying to build a strong team whose members complement each other. And, so far, he's done a great job! Mainly, their enthusiasm in teaching dance and their genuine care in each student's progress is off the charts. The studio hold parties and several group lessons every week so we, as students, get to interact with each other frequently. It is a very accepting and fun-oriented group of people. It truly feels like a small, happy dance family. I recommend it highly to everyone!!!

We started off using a groupon, and then proceeded to buy a ten pack package. We have been having fun with Andres and Olga, our instructors who switch weekly, and find that we pick up different skills from each. We are in our 50s. We do not have the best rhythm or grace, but are always encouraged by the instructors and staff and have finally mastered a couple of dances where we won't be embarrassed at social events! It has truly proven to be a fun couple activity for us, and we recommend this dance center highly!
