I am well familiar with Progressive Dance since my sister owns it! Jolene does a fantastic job, and goes the extra mile for all of her students. This studio has always been very professional, as well as a friendly environment you would want for your kids to grow and learn. After a very cold winter in NJ, the pipes burst and flooded the entire studio. ALL of the studios! The next morning Jolene had the place full of workers pulling up ALL of the floors which were ruined. Then they had to dry everything, and put down new floors, which takes time and was very expensive! Most of the parents and students took it all in stride, but 3 of them decided to complain if you can imagine that! Good luck to the next studio they sign up with.

Progressive Dance Studio is my home I have been dancing here for 8 years! The teachers here are the kindest teachers ever they inspire me everyday! They push us to our best and make sure we have a great time! The teachers here are so advanced I learn something new everyday! Jolene Perry owns the studio and she is the best owner ever! in class she teaches us every detail, what we should be feeling and thinking so we get it right! I don’t know what this studio would do with out her! I love this studio so much every teacher cares so much about us and make us feel important and make our dreams come true! Today I had a Terrible experience. And after many more in the past I decide to speak my mind! This is my second year in the school, having 2 doughtiers In dancing classes. I realized listening to other moms that I wasn’t receiving emails. I left a message for someone to contact me, a women call me speaking loud, being extremely rude and abusive, she did not listened to one word I was trying to say. I could not believe her atitude, wen I ask her name she hang up the phone. PS: She was the one caking me, I just don’t understand how can someone call a “costumer”Asking: What is your problem? In a bad way, follow by nonstop speaking..... I couldn’t answer her question. Just unacceptable this treatment. The school has no water, no front desk, a snack machine that takes money but don’t work, on spring brake this year most of the moms came to school, the door was open but no one from school there( I guess I’m not the only one not getting emails), my list goes on and on....

I’m a 16 year old girl who dances at progressive. I’ve danced here for a year and for the time I’ve been here the teachers and students have been very open and friendly. They have the best interest for their dancers and would do nothing to jeopardize our well being.

PDS is a great studio to dance at, I have been dancing there for almost 9 years and dancing on the company for 4 and they have been great. All the girls at PDS are so nice and kind. The teachers are so kind and too push us to be our best and to confident. Jolene Perry, the owner is an amazing teachers and so nice, I have never seen her mad. PDS is a second home to me and the girls are my sisters that I wish I had. The choreography is amazing and we always win in competition. It's a real honor to dance at PDS and I'm so grateful that when I was 2 my mother and father enrolled me there and not anywhere else. I've enjoyed every minuet I'm in the studio and that's why it deserves five stars. I would recommend and encourage you to enroll you child there with no question.

My three girls have been dancing at the studio almost from birth. My oldest is about to finish her 16th year here. It has been her home away from home . I am so grateful for the safe and loving environment that she has experienced here. She has made her closest friends here and has learned so much from her teachers that she looks up to. What I love most about this studio is that it is a warm family friendly studio that cares about each of their students and they go above and beyond for each one. My girls feel so close to their teachers and I couldn't be happier that they look forward to coming every day. Thank you Jolene and all of the PDS teachers for caring so much and teaching my girls the love of dance!

I am only 7 years old but I have been dancing here for 5 years. I have been competing since I was 4 years old. The teachers are always helping me and I am so close to them that one of them even goes out of their way to pick me up from school sometimes. I had my first solo at the age of 4 and wasn't even nervous because the studio prepared me so much. I never want to stop dancing here. My friends at school know how much I love dancing here that they decided to sign up and dance here with me. I love all the friends I've made and all the teachers I've had. <3

Where do I even begin? I have been with Progressive Dance Studio ever since I was in 2nd grade and I am now currently a freshmen in high school. I have previously tried other studios and NONE compare even to the slightest to PDS. This was the only studio that I feel I can myself in, because of the welcoming community and all the kind hearts here. When I first started dancing, I was this shy little girl that loved to tap dance. Little did I know, after a couple of years of training with friends and lessons beyond lessons on the art of tap dance with these amazing instructors that I would be performing my first solos in competitions, along with winning Platinum medals and placing overall! I have grown so much at PDS. It has helped me gain confidence I never thought I would have years ago, the ability to present myself on the stage, and to compete fearlessly with faith in myself and self-assurance. Not only have I grown as a person, but I also have been able to make new family along the way and friendships I have had for years that will last a lifetime. Our studio has a connection that I have never experienced anywhere else, and that's why I love it so much here. Even in the face of near total destruction, due to a flood our loving teachers and studio owner gave us safe studios to work in with proper dance floors built especially for us. SO even when faced with total adversity Progressive Dance Studio does everything possible for its students! We place in every single competition we enter into, also getting scholarships from many of our students at conventions. Our studio is totally safe - both emotionally with our amazing family of dancers and parents along with the physical building itself. The staff is like family to me, no one is ever rude, in fact they are extremely loving and always take care of us, both inside and outside the studio. No mirrors have ever fallen here nor will they ever in the future, and our staff makes sure it stays that way.

I have made so many amazing friends throughout my years as a dancer at Progressive. All of the teachers try to make us all come together as one and make new friends. This studio is super safe so do not believe it is not because of a bad review. None of those bad reviews are true. It is all lies to get you to not come to Progressive. I am telling this studio is amazing. I have made so many amazing friends I never thought I would have. I would definitely recommend this dance studio. I have been dancing here for almost 8 years. I wouldn't be dancing if it were not for PDS and it's amazing teachers. Almost 8 years ago, I was extremly shy and was afraid to stand up in front of a crowd. With the help of mrs.jolene and several other teachers I am now a competitive jazz and tap dancer. Do not believe the haters posts!!!!!!! I dance here 4 days a week and there has never been any hazardous smells or fumes, none of the mirrors have never fallen on any of the children or off of any wall, and the mirrors are professionally installed. Its a completely safe and loving place to learn to dance.

We've had our daughters at Progressive for 7 years. It has always been a wonderful experience. The girls have learned a lot and enjoyed themselves, and the teachers are excellent. The thing that really clinched it for us was when our youngest joined the competition team, the emphasis was very much on developing themselves and not about competing against anyone (zero trash talking allowed). Miss Jolene is a has a real love and knack for teaching kids dance, and helps her instructors find different ways to reach students effectively. She has created a very positive, ethical, and above all, nurturing environment.

I have danced at Progressive Dance Studio for the past 8 years and the girls I dance with are my second family. At this studio everyone looks out for each other including teachers, the owner Jolene Perry is a second mom to me and her daughter is a dear friend of mine. After the flood this January all the teachers went out of their way to reschedule all classes, including using a next door warehouse where they put in floors, mats, and a tumble track for acro classes. Everyday I look forward to coming to dance and pursuing a dream of mine since I was 2 years old. Being 14 now it is 100% my choice to stay with this studio and I plan to be here as a senior in high school. I love this studio more than words can describe and can’t wait to spend future years dancing with my second family! I highly recommend registering for classes and the competitive team

This is the most professional dance studio in Bergen County-First Place Winner of too many competitions to recite and the only place to let your children grow to learn technique and love dance! I am a happy parent of 4 dancers at Progressive Dance Studio. I would like to address allegations made in a previously written google review. My daughter is the dancer who was injured by a falling mirror. This mirror was located in her home bedroom and the incident had absolutely nothing to with Progressive. My daughter participates on the dance team and so progressive was notified about the incident as she was missing a competition. Both the owner and the director of the dance team called my daughter that night to check on her and see how she was doing. My family has been dancing at Progressive for many years. My daughters’ dancing skills have improved tremendously as has their self confidence. They spend many hours a week dancing at Progressive and I have only wonderful things to say about the staff at Progressive. The allegations made in the other review were untrue, unfounded and described nothing I have ever witnessed or experienced. I highly recommend Progressive Dance Studio to any family looking for a meaningful and positive dance for their children!

For the past 14 years, my life has revolved around dance. Progressive Dance Studio has always been and will continue to be the perfect forum for me to continue to develop my skills, cultivate my passion, and train in what I love. This place is impossible not to feel comfortable in. It has been my home for the past 10 years and its unbearable for me to think that I only have one year left. My dance friends have become my sisters, and along with our teachers and company directors we have become a close knit family. I genuinely cannot imagine my life without them. Progressive is a safe open space where ALL KINDS of people from all kinds of places can come together over a shared love for a hobby. However, here dance is so much more than a hobby. We are taught in the most caring, nurturing way possible. Dancing at Progressive has taught me discipline, the importance of teamwork and family, good work ethic, leadership roles, conflict resolution, time and stress management, and the ability and willingness to learn. PDS has provided me with so many skills that not only am I appreciative of, but will carry with me for the rest of my life.It has become my escape. If I ever have a bad day, or need to get something off my mind, I know I can look forward to going straight to the studio after school. No matter what happened, the problem is almost completely dissolved within minutes of arriving at the studio and being greeted by my best friends and all the caring faculty. Miss Jolene has worked so hard over the course of her career to ensure that our studio is a safe place for us. Anyone and everyone is welcomed by her, and her passion is unparalleled. Its is truly devastating to see people so desperately dedicated to bringing down the wonderful place that brings so many of us so much joy. Progressive Dance Studio was hit with an environmental inconvenience. They did everything in their power to renovate and restore our studios as quickly and perfectly as possible. This included the rescheduling of most missed classes. Progressive's number one priority is our safety. They would never allow anything to happen if it was going to jeopardize the safety and security of their students. I just want to qualify some of these real, honest reviews written by actual students and parents of PDS. Our love and dedication to our studio only stems as a reciprocation of the love and dedication that we have received as students here. Instead of attacking our true feelings about a place that gives to its students more than we could possibly return, maybe take a second to reflect on yourself. If you look at what really happened, objectively, you might find that the situation caused by your accusations of our home is merely unnecessary. I am acknowledging completely that it's okay to have a bad experience. Life isn't perfect, and sometimes things can get mixed up or confused. However, it is not okay to take to the internet to try to damage something that many girls and boys of all ages depend on, rely on, and love. PLEASE do not target my home. You may not realize how your actions affect others, but we love this place, and your hateful words can't take away the sense of family we feel here. I am sorry that you feel the need to bring others down to qualify your opinion, but on behalf of all the students that are extremely happy learning in a safe and truly special environment, I kindly ask you to refrain from taking your aggression out on us, as it only does more harm than good.

The fact that you parents are so dedicated in trying to bash on a studio that's full of happy students and parents is psychotic. No one was paid to write reviews, so please stop making up more lies. It's truly laughable how you keep checking to see the updated TRUE reviews. Please leave PDS alone, if your life consists of bashing on a dance studio, you need a new job. No one is listening to what you're saying but yourselves which by the way, are very few. Also, please please instead of wasting your time lying on the reviews column, read what the google reviews terms and conditions are instead of just clicking "I agree". You'll learn that what you are writing is against the rules. Try spending as many hours as I do at this studio and then write a review because I can assure you that you will feel stupid for writing what you wrote. You are all delusional and stop spending your life in the google reviews and take care of your children. Ask them what they think of the classes instead of making up your own thoughts. No one is leaving the studio so you guys can stop falsely advertising the studio. Get off the internet and live your life, get a job where you'll get paid because clearly this life isn't working out for you! Lol. I'm extremely disappointed with some reviews given, suggesting Asian's to boycott this studio. My daughter has been dancing here for a few years now and she and I have had the best experience. The owner and staff are very nice and understanding and the dance teachers are really caring and professional. The studio is very safe, any issues associated with the unfortunate flood were already addressed. I would recommend the studio to any one that is looking for a safe, caring and professional place where their kids can dance.

My daughter has been dancing with Progressive for many years now. I am very picky about where my children spend their time. We chose Progressive after interviewing and looking at many competitors. The instruction, management and value far surpassed those found elsewhere. The fees include recital costumes which which was a welcomed surprise . The end if the year recital is professional and a joy to attend. If you choose not to learn dance here you are missing out.

I began dancing at Progressive Dance Studio in 2012. I had been dancing at another studio prior, but everything changed when I started attending Progressive. From the moment I met the owner, Jolene, I knew that I was at the right place to receive an amazing dance education. When I first started classes, my technique was not the best, but the fantastic staff helped me grow and fix the bad habits. I was also a part of Synergy Dance Company, the competition team at Progressive. This studio does not focus on winning trophies and medals for the sake of winning, but encourages the students to have a love for the art form itself. Jolene is like my second mother, and she has not only helped me to grow as a dancer, but as a person. I recently graduated from high school, but I continue to take dance classes in order to retain the amazing technique that I had learned from Progressive. The teachers at this school are incredible. My classmates have become my second family, and the overall atmosphere of the studio gives off a very close family vibe. To any parents that are thinking of putting their child in dance, I strongly recommend Progressive Dance Studio. This school was incredibly beneficial to me, and to so many others.

I have been taking my daughter (age 13) to Progressive Dance for 11+ years, and it has been a fantastic experience! About 5 years ago, my daughter joined the PDS Dance Company, and has had some recent success, winning a few awards and scholarships at the competitions and conventions. Throughout the years, my daughter has made some of her best friendships at PDS, and she considers many of those girls to be like her sisters. In addition to the great friendships she has made, the dance teachers at the studio have been wonderful….they are not only outstanding dance instructors, but have also been terrific mentors and role models as well. The thing I love most about PDS is that its focus is not just all about dance, but rather on the overall development of each child as a complete person, because the emphasis is not only on the physical aspect of dancing, but it is also on the mental, emotional, and social parts of being a well-rounded and whole individual. My daughter’s self-confidence and self-esteem has soared at PDS, which I think comes from the fact that the Studio is a family-oriented, nurturing environment. Finally, I have known Miss Jolene for over 20 years, and for anyone who knows her, knows that there is nothing more important to her than the overall safety and well-being of her kids (students) and that she passionately loves each and every one of them! Obviously I can’t say enough great things about PDS! We love it!!

Best dance studio in the area by far. Never felt more loved and safe anywhere else. By the way, the photo of my sister that she posted was taken off of her iPhone 6S, she’s getting a new phone soon if you would like for her to retake it and post it again for you to see she can. She was in first grade in the photo and was showing how she’s been here all these years and has been so happy. It’s not a cheap photo, but your reviews on the other hand, are. My parents always taught me to never lie, I’m assuming you never learned that because you are easily lying on the internet about a photo being fake and cheap when you don’t even know how or when it was taken. Stop checking these reviews because enough is enough and go back to doing nothing instead of getting such a thrill out of these reviews. I am the father of 3 girls, each of whom are enrolled in multiple classes for numerous years at progressive dance studio. My oldest is a high school senior, who has been a student at PDS since she was 3 years old. Both of my other daughters started dancing at PDS at 3 years old. During our 15 years at PDS, we have enjoyed the classes, the instructors, the family atmosphere, and the overall welcoming and nurturing environment that the school provides. My daughters have learned so much about the various genres of dance, choreography and teamwork from the owner and dance instructors. Anyone who claims that this school or the owner of this school is anything but unprofessional or uncaring clearly has a hidden agenda and does not know anything about the school or the owner, and has not been involved in the PDS community and is obviously delusional. Any parent who wants their son or daughter to learn from professional and caring instructors while being part of a close knit team of kids should seriously enroll at progressive dance studio.

I have been dancing here for 9 years and I love it every year. The teachers are not only choreographers, but also mentors and role models. The director truly cares about each individual and works hard to make sure everyone is satisfied. She is nothing but passionate about dance and truly loves her job and inspiring us to be better performers. When the studio got flooded, the teachers and director worked so hard to reschedule each class and make sure that no one missed a single class. A space was rented next door in order for us to continue dancing and we continued having classes in the spaces at the studio THAT WERE SAFE. I would never consider dancing anywhere else. I would also like to add that none of the good reviews written about Progressive are fake. We genuinely care about the studio and love it and we want to protect it against hateful and untrue comments.

Both my daughters have danced at Progressive for 10+ years, starting at ages 3 and 7. One of them has been with the elite company since 7th grade, won several regional titles and scholarships, and been invited to numerous professional NYC companies. The other dances recreationally, enjoying the camaraderie of her dance friends and teachers. I’m impressed that Progressive has fully supported each of their experiences. They have learned exceptional dance technique and more importantly, they have been surrounded by kind friends and role models in their journey to becoming responsible and considerate young women. Jo and her team unfailingly prioritize the technical/emotional safety and growth of the dancers above all else, including their own personal time and priorities. In reference to prior comments, I am an Asian mother and what I have witnessed is that regardless of your child’s shape, size, religion, color, gender or skill level, s/he will be loved, supported and given ample opportunities to shine.

Progressive Dance Studio is one of the most professional dance studio in the area. I have known the owner, Jolene Perry for many years. Her number one priority is that the kids taking classes not only improve their dance skills but that there is a positive and creative atmosphere for the kids can grow as dancers and individuals. I have personally seen how Jolene and the teachers interact with the kids and there is no doubt that the dancers are their priority. I typically avoid rebutting negative comments about a business online; however, the comments from a few individuals are flat out lies. Corinna Wu, Bauqi Li, Amy Ko-Tang and Xinling Jiang should be ashamed of their behavior. I understand being unhappy with an experience but to post blatant lies is wrong and possibly slanderous. I have first hand knowledge of what happened at Progressive Dance Studio earlier this year. A pipe in a wall froze and burst flooding the entire studio. From the moment the flooding was discovered, Jolene and her staff worked to get the students back to dancing. They immediately started looking for a place to hold classes so, the kids could continue to dance. The number one priority was having a safe and healthy environment to dance. The accusation the the air was unhealthy is untrue The air quality was fine. As a matter of fact, the Health Department came in and tested the air and said it was fine. As for a mirror falling on a student, that is a blatant lie! It is true a student at Progressive Dance Studio was home and a mirror fell on her foot but, it has never happened at the studio. As soon as the floors were removed, plywood was laid down and linoleum placed on top so dance classes could start. The ordering of new dance floors takes a significant amount of time and money. not to mention that the studio had to deal with the insurance company to receive payment in order to buy the new floors. The damage at the studio was extensive and it took a considerable amount of time and money to fix it. I understand you might have been unhappy with the amount of time it has taken to fix the studio; however, that is not a free pass to lie about a person or business. Progressive Dance Studio (PDS) is a fantastic place for children of all ages to dance in a safe and loving environment. If I could give PDS a 10, I would!!!
