My daughter started with the American Youth Dance Theater since Mommy-and-Me and since then she’s been loving it. She always looks forward to her classes. All her teachers are fantastic. Their motivating and graceful presence are always welcoming. The final assessment for each class is certainly helpful. It points out the strengths and suggests which technique needs to be improved. We are thankful. The recitals are lovely and are definitely the highlights of the year....AYDT is highly recommendable!!!!!

My daughter has been taking ballet classes for the last three years at AYDT. Ballet classes are the highlight of my child's week. I find the Director, the teachers and the staff very caring and tuned to children's needs. My daughter absolutely loves her dance teachers, who use a rigorous curriculum but in a warm and playful way. The school puts together a winter and spring show every year, where every child has the opportunity to dance. I could not think of a better place to send my daughter!

My 3 daughters are alumni of AYDT and they have loved every minute of their experience there. From ballet to hip hop the teachers are fun and competent, it is well organized and kids love it! 1 of my daughter's close friends was actually scouted by ABT, that is to say the level of classes!

My daughter has been taking ballet at AYDT since she was 2 years old. Even when she broke her leg at 2.5 years old and couldn't participate in many activities she insisted she attend her ballet class with her cast! AYBT has always encouraged my daughter to be HER very best and acknowledges that each student is an individual and has individual potential. The instructors have always been disciplined but thoughtful and as I mentioned, encouraging. Lastly, the goal of a performance for all students is an exciting culmination of each semester and motivates the students to work hard at all aspects of performing. We have been very happy and can whole heartedly recommend AYDT to all children and parents!

My experience with American Youth was mediocre. I say this because my child learned two basic skills in 8 months. My child had mastered the skills after 1 class of learning them. She thought the class was too easy for her and she didn't feel like she was learning enough for what I was paying for. When it is time for the recital, your chid will enter the theater, and then sit on the dirty floor against the hard wall. They are ordered not to talk, and they are kept there for the duration of the show. There are no dressing rooms available. When you would like to pick your kid up, you have to wait in a long line and then watch a girl yell your last name into a megaphone. Since then, I have moved my daughter to Shuffles tap school and I am very impressed. I love the cohesive shows and the talent of every child there. Despite everything, my child loved Ms.Deborah because of her kindness and good energy.

The American Youth Dance Theater has been the most incredible and supportive environment for my 13 year old daughter. She has been so privileged to have these wonderful teachers. She has evolved as a dancer and a person through this experience. The school manages to teach and at the same time make kids happy, through a rigorous curriculum and the right technique. I would totally recommend the school for all children who love to dance.

I especially love how the teachers get to know the students, are so passionate and enthusiastic about dance, and are so friendly and wonderful. My daughter has enjoyed participating in Ballet, Broadway/jazz, summer camp and summer dance classes at American Youth Dance Theater for six years. From when she began when she was three the staff, instructors, older dance students and parents have been wonderful. For the younger dance students the Junior Recital is wonderful introduction to performing. My daughter enjoys performing in the Senior Recital as our family enjoys watching her and the many dance disciplines AYDT offers. Every year we are amazed with the students performance at all levels. Thank you Natalia, Monique, Jackie, Sam, Elizabeth, Pat (we will miss you) and the many wonderful instructors. We look forward to another wonderful year at AYDT.

Both my daughters love their dance classes at AYDT (ballet, tap, contemporary and jaz). The teachers are professional and push the students to achieve their best but in a very supportive, caring and fun way. The two dance recitals each year are a definite highlight and a chance for the students to perform and put into practice new skills learnt. The end of year reports are very detailed and helpful. I would definitely recommend AYDT.
